Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Kid, Kian t'Kaeh

Kid has posed:
With summer fast approaching, the days have gotten longer and longer! People likewise stay out longer as well, enjoying the sunshine while they can. many taking to runs and bike rides through the forested areas of the park, or finding little hidden nooks and cranies to hang out. Occasionly people forget their wallets or devices that drop. Sometimes a picnic basket or two left behind or good food thrown out. Sports gear may be left unattended, stolen by good humorouse friends or unsavory criminals. Indeed anything and everything happens in these parts.
    Including, skating. Nestled within one of the deeper older areas of the park was a now defunct skatepark. Moss overgrow the ramps and rails, while large trees overshadow the area, letting light filter down and dance along. Trash, old parts, and so forth could be found here.
    And where there was a hidden gem, there was Jua Madala. The large gorrilla didn't have to worry about many folks bothering him here. And those that did find this spot were general cool peeps. Normally he would be hunting...but today he felt like...playing. Something he hasn't done in a long time. And so he was there figiting with a mix-maxed set of inline rollerblades, adjusting them - as they really were not ment for gorilla feet as it stood. But regardless the oftern...raging animal was calm for the moment.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    There is *nothing* like New York City on any of the worlds Kian's people inhabit.  Not so much the sheer number of people -- even the capitol puts only a quarter of a percent of the number of individuals in the same space as all of Long Island.  It's the way Terrans build *up*.  The glass canyons of the megalopolis are like nothing else, and the wind currents therein are like nothing on his world, so Kian is a regular visitor to the upper reaches of the cities, for the exercise... and for the sheer joy of it.
    His stop on his way back is that city-locked greenspace, Central Park, large enough to offer quiet and private spaces, even in the middle of New York.  He spots a gap in the trees, and drops down through, landing lightly on a stout lower branch, and blissfully unaware of anyone else who might be in the area.  Terrans are interesting, but Terrans don't fly, so even a branch he should more or less have to himself.

Kid has posed:
Jua continues working on the skates, trying to get them loose enough to fit his feet, but he hardly has any luck. He breaths deeply through his nose at the problem. Jua cants his head back and forth considering the problem...before comming up with a solution. he begins to dismantale the actual shoe portion, the hard outer shell. He make the skates into more a sandle if he needs too!
    But as he is working, he takes pause. He senses a new mind enter the area. Unlike others though, instead of comming from the forest, it seemed to have come from above. He glances upwards, and slowly turns his head, letting his ability to sense emotions lead him untill he stareing at the branch kian has landed on. He grunts, as it wasn't the first time he seen a winged mutant. Figuring the fella was resting or trying to figure out if they should come closer, he continues his buissness of modifying the shoes.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    One might not call Kian's current position dignified -- settled into the crotch of a tree, wings loosely spread around the main trunk, legs dangling -- but it sure is comfortable.  Half lazing, Kian just sits there, just kind of recharging after exerting himself in the wild winds between the buildings downtown.
    And then something makes him sit upright, wings spread, leaning forward, alert and tense.  Another mind.  He hasn't sensed another active mind in so very long, he doesn't even stop to think before mentally sending out a greeting -- he's just so very happy for the feel of another mind.  {/Gods!  Hello?  Who's out there?/}

Kid has posed:
Well THIS was unexpected. Jua hears the message loud and clear. It didn't feel threatening, nor did he sense any malice. Though he quietly chides himself for letting something slip in so easily. That being said, Kid was far more comfortable speaking telepathiclly than in other forms.
    o O ("Jua Madala. Who might you be?") he thinks to the Birdman curiousely. Of course, his telepathic 'voice' had a certain...conotation to it. It was aggressive, it simply felt and eminated the presence and mind of a very dangerous very angry predator, despite the friendless of the tone. Perhaps indicating he could be quite dangerous.
    Meanwhile, Kid has undone the shell, and carefully made slits in the sides of the boot. with a grunt, he manages to shove his feet into them, his toes sticking out, the fabric buldging, but the inline skates none the less fitting. He stands up unsteadly...and carefully makes strides forward.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    {/Kian.  Kian t'Kaeh,/} comes the immediate response, and probably a good idea of which direction the other mind is.  Certainly Kian isn't trying to hide himself.  And there's no more than a sense of acceptance of any 'tone' Jua's thoughts might have.  The birdman's thoughts are completely guileless, and 'predator' simply doesn't compute, as it were.
    {/Remarkable/,} Kian sends, feeling his way around the outside of the newcomer's mind -- he makes no attempt at probing, at delving any deeper than conscious and deliberate surface thoughts.  {/You have no idea how much I've missed mental contact/!}

Kid has posed:
o O ("Try me Birdbrain.") he understand the missing mental contact, though from a much different perspective. Regardless as Kian probs, he would find that even Kid's surface thoughts have a kind of shield. Unlike a traditional walls...his shield was rythem and tunes, mixing melodies. Perhaps Kid may have even 'sung' telepathiclly in the past and played music with his mind.
    Back on the ground kid is slowly getting the hang of the blades. He goes up and down ramps and inclines. Falling a few times with a earth shaking fall due to his weight. But he doesn't stop, only getting back up. o O ("But since your here, perhaps you want to skate with me eh?") he offers.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian's mind is largely unshielded, beyond having very clear surface thoughts that draw attention away from anything sub- or unconscious.  And in the immediacy of mental contact, it doesn't seem he even recognizes Jua's shield as a shield -- it simply never occurs to him to connect with anything more than the other's conscious surface thoughts.  {/I don't know.  What's 'skate'?/}

Kid has posed:
    Most people may have given Kian an odd look for not knowing what skating was. But Jua certainly didn't know what it was when he first got it, so he doesn't hold it agaist the bird man. He skates over to the tree Kian was in and looks up. o O ("Hey, down here. Below you. Big furry thing waving") he was waving up to get Kian's attention. If he manages to do so he'll point down to his skates o O ("These are skates!")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian hops down from the tree lightly, braking with his wings, and follows the mental link to... {/!!/}  There's no point in pretending he's not startled by the other's appearance.  He's not frightened (much), since he's already been in mental contact and Jua sounds friendly enough, but... {/My apologies.  My reaction was rude.  I just wasn't expecting... well.}  The little birdman is barely a meter and a half tall, so someone Jua's size is physically intimidating by definition.
    Even so, he manages to get his thoughts in order, and bows and spreads his wings slightly.  From the feel of his mind, even without deliberate words, it's a more formal greeting.
    And then the skates get his attention.  {/You move around on those?  On the ground/?}  There's an undercurrent of 'How weird!' with his thoughts.

Kid has posed:
Jua let out a beastly chuckle at the reaction, his grin showing very VERY large canines that look able to bite through skulls. Infact, Jua HAS bitten through skulls. o O ("Hey, I am used to it. Humans are not exactly used to rillas.") the tone of his own psychic mind seems to indicate he thought Kian was a human.
    o O "And not really. I am just learning to use them. They are for fun. Sure can already move fast on my own, but this is another kind of fast. Just being carried along and trying some tricks. If I could ever learn to use them properly.") Jua had zero formality to himself.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian takes a couple paces closer.  {/Well, I'm not human, but I'm not used to it either/,} he 'sends with a soft chuckle.  {/Ah, no, I can't skate/,} he adds, looking closer at the footgear.  {/I can't get my feet into those/.}  A quick glance at his feet will confirm that; he has an extended heel, and it certainly looks like he could grip a stout branch.  {/But I can watch.  It's an interesting process.  I'm afraid all the sports I know are aerial/.}

Kid has posed:
o O ("Neither could I. Human feet are TINY! I had to make these") he explains o O ("Prety sure I could make you one. But suit yourself") and he pushes off away from the tree. Having been practicing he was moving faster, certainly faster than a human without skates o O ("So if your not human, what are you? You look human.") he goes up a ramp...and quickly tumbles downward in a spectauclar display of failure.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian winces on Jua's behalf.  {/Also my bones are hollow and repeatedly impacting the ground is not a good idea.  Are you all right?  Or is that how this game is played, to get up to speed and then find a new way to fall down/?}  It's a genuine question -- Kian really doesn't know.
    {/Oh, and I'm not human.  I guess I look sort of human, broadly.  Except humans have too many fingers and their feet are shaped strangely.  And not enough wings/,} he adds with a mental snicker.

Kid has posed:
o O ("I seen a human with wings. Other with no limbs. Some look more like other animals like flies...or lions. Or birds") he explains o O ("Though there tyically refferred to as 'mutants')
    He gets up and is already at it again. he skates around the grounds building speed once more. o O ("And I am fine. No, you wan't want to fall. You want to do tricks! Like spinning through the air before landing! But you gotta learn to wide first!") he again skates fast towards the ramp, and goes flying up it. He takes a half turn in the air...and crashes again. He seems dazec o O ("Learning...not to fall....is the hard part")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian winces again, almost like he felt that through the mental contact.  And he can't help but think of a mid-air collision he was involved in, during what looks like a game of three dimensional aerial flag tag, that ended in a plummet into a net.  {/Believe me, I understand not wanting to fall.  But I really am not human.  I'm Akiar.  We're... my world... nnh.  I am a very lost Akiar/.}

Kid has posed:
o O ("Ah, so Alien. Damn I bump into aliens as much as I do magical folks") he says. o O ("Whats Akiar like? And...why are you here?") he wonders suddenly o O ("If yalls can bounce planets, seems pretty lousy to be here") Jua notes as he get up to skate once more. His balance was increasing

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    {/Unfortunately/,} Kian replies a little sourly, {/I can't bounce between worlds at *will*.  Unless my Gods have some purpose they're still withholding from me, my being here is an accident.  I don't even know where my world is from here.  I mean, I suppose I'm glad I ended up somewhere that I can exist.  The middle of a star would've been pretty bad/.}

Kid has posed:
     There a pause as Kid considers the statement. He slowly comes to a stop and considers Kian a long long moment. Finally he replies o O ("Yea, you woulda be rotisaried") which of course referred to a bird as a food item o O("But perhaps you can get some help figureing all that out.") he tells him. Kid skates over o O ("Like I said, your not the first alien I have met")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    /I suppose none like me/, Kian replies, just a little glumly.  /I don't even know if my people knew of this world/.  He shrugs mentally.  /I've met a couple aliens, too.  One of them has heard of my people, but doesn't know where we are... and can't get off world from here anyway/.
    He tilts his head, looking Jua up and down.  /And you?  Is this your native world/?

Kid has posed:
o O ("Not sure it has to do with likeing you.") he transmit bluntly. o O ("But yea, far as I am aware it is. Never really questioned it. I mean you do not really see any gorrillas around here...and when you do, there not exactly green skinned.") he shrugs lightly.
    He remove the skates and wiggles his toes grumbling to himself, probably thinking there going to need to be bigger. o O ("Maybe one of them folks from da Justice league can give you a hand")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian can't help but chuckle softly.  /I meant like me as in similar to me, not... well, it's your language, not mine/.  Big grin.  /I've been working with a group called the Titans... it's awkward.  I'm having a hard time understanding the way things are done on this planet.  But I think it will work out eventually/.

Kid has posed:
Jua let out a laugh o O ("I know the feeling! I lived on this planet all my life and I still have a hard time understanding things. Though very different reasons") he tells him. o O ("I think I met a titan. Some orange skinned man. Anyways perhaps I can clear up some confusion")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
     {/Orange-skinned man... no, I know an orange-skinned woman there.  Maybe they are related?  I don't know.  I'm still settling in, and I'm not sure I've met everyone yet/.}
    Kian spreads and re-folds his wings neatly -- it looked more like a reflex than a deliberate action.  {/Maybe you could explain something to me?  If you know about it, anyway.  I have been warned by different people that there are others, humand and robots, that might try to hurt me just because I don't look completley human?  I can't grasp that.  It doesn't make any sense/.}

Kid has posed:
    Jua blinks slowly and looks over Kian o O ("Why doesn't it make sense?") is his response back o O ("I could explain...but it helps to know why it doesn't make sense to you")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    {/Because/...} Kian begins, then falters, then in some desperation, {/Because it's just not the way things are supposed to *be*/!}  A wash of homesickness weaves itself around his thoughts, though he tries to keep control.
    He does not entirely succeed.
    The rest comes out in a rush, the thoughts being sent almost as soon as they are formed.  {/Robots are just machines, they can't hurt people, and if one does go wrong and not automatically shut down, they can always be disabled remotely.  And people just don't attack people!  They... they just /don't/!  I once read a story about a fictional world where no one was telepathic, and I thought it was ridiculous, you can't have a stable non-telepathic society/--}  He breaks off and looks around, taking in the city around him.  {/--and I'm still not convinced you can.  My world... this sort of thing is completely unknown.  How can you hurt someone physically or emotionally when you can immediately feel the hurt inflicted, when you know what effect you're having/?}
    He takes a deep breath, intended to calm himself.  It's not entirely successful. {/Please forgive me.  I don't mean to lash out like that but... I suppose in a non-telepathic world, not knowing the harm one does leads to not *caring* the harm one does, and that just makes me feel nauseous in my soul/.}

Kid has posed:
Jua seems to take the wave of emotions ands thoughts easily enough. o O ("Ironicly...the same people who would hurt you...have the same attitude. They say the same thing. There no reason...not a real one. It the way it is, because that how things are supposed to be. Your supposed to hurt those different, because it is right. You can't trust those different...you just /can't/") he begins send forth o O ("Sound familiar?") it echoed the words Kian had said. o O ("The reason you cannot understand, and the reason they would hurt you...are the exact same. Because they cannot fathom or believe that something different from what they are used to, could be right, could be fine, could be like them." he shrugs lightly o O ("You sound more like them, than you know")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    {/You're different/,} Kian sends, {/but I trust you.  Because I can see in your mind, so I know I can.  You don't need to be like me/.}  He regards Jua appraisingly.  {/It would take quite a pair of wings to get you off the ground, for a start.  And I know my inability to understand is not an excuse to strike out at others.  I submit that it's not the same/.}

Kid has posed:
("You trust me, because you /think/ you can see inside my mind. You say I do not need to be like you...yet my telepathy is like you. It is what your used to. Let me ask you this...if I wasn't telepathic, would you trust me? Think hard and deep about that one") shoot back Jua. He was now looking at Kian intensely.

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    {/No/,} Kian admits easily, {/not entirely.  But I also wouldn't attack you.  Maybe I have been lucky, but none of the non-telepaths I have met in my short time on this world have been anyone I found I needed to fear.  Whether or not I understood them/.}

Kid has posed:
o O ("Perhaps you may not have attacked, but it is a bias you have. Your lucky in the sense that your world, things seem more mentally based") he says o O ("But here? It is physically based you can see. Communication, intention, emotion, it all communicated physically. And so when one is physically different...the physical communication people hold break down you can say.")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian considers that for quite some time.  Though he's not actively sending anything, his mind can be felt working.  {/That... *almost* makes sense.  Or at least it's closer to sense than any other explanation I've had.  If that makes any sense/,} he finishes with a little smile.

Kid has posed:
     ("Glad I could help. To be honest...I wish I was raise in a telepathic society...or with my kin. Kinda wonder if...well if I would have turned out differently") he tells him. He sits down for a rest, reaching to his pack and taking out a mango. o O ("Want some?")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:

    Kian perches lightly on the back of a park bench, balancing almost effortlessly.  {/I don't know.  What is it/?}

Kid has posed:
Jua takes a bite of the mango, skin and all, showing bright orange flesh. o O ("It is a mango. A kind of fruit") he offers Kian the bitten mango to try out o O ("Taste sweet")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian takes it, sniffs it, looks at it... prods it gently, and makes a determination.  {/I don't think I can bite through that skin.  And I think if I try to peel it, it will make a mess... have you a knife?}

Kid has posed:
("Just eat the orange part") O o Jua indicates the part he already bit off. Clearly he had no qualms about germs. ("And no. Knives are pretty useless for me. But if your so picky I can crack it in half")

Kian t'Kaeh has posed:
    Kian manages to free himself a chunk without making too much of a mess, mangoes being what they are.  Sniffs it again.  And finally pops it into his mouth.
    {/!!!/}
    His mental commentary comes up from so deep within, it doesn't make it from his language all the way to English.  But it's pretty clear he approves.

Kid has posed:
     Luckily for Kid, thoughts do not need language. There thoughts. And even than, there isn't a language Kid can't understand when it comes to directly communicating with someone. o O ("Well, glad you like it. Though I never seen someone be so descriptive about ot") Jua chuckles
