Cast of Characters: Wolfsbane, Alopex

Wolfsbane has posed:
Another night around Mutant Town, and while Wolfsbane is not specifically working at Club Evolution - it's not really her thing - she's been keeping an eye on the area for some friends of hers. Things are quiet enough, at least for the neighborhood, and to some extent a few of the more visible mutants have been laying low with Sentinel concerns what they are.

The wolfen mutant in the forest-inspired colors has also heard a rumor or two about something that went on recently at the museum in the area, and in passing it she stops for a second look, then she keeps moving in the direction of the crash space reserved for the Xavier's people.

Alopex has posed:
The last few days had been quite eventful. New allies, new friends, a shiny new phone! It's the cell phone that's currently being held in both of Alopex's paws as she wanders along the street, glancing up once in a while as she goes. Hood up, her head, eyes, and fur are hidden away from all the curious onlookers as she goes. Where is she going? Just out for a meal, and wandering until her nose picks up on something, or her eyes spot something that causes a craving. One or the other.

Wolfsbane has posed:
There's no phone in Wolfsbane's hands, and it's unclear if she even has one on her. This leaves her able to focus fully on what's around her, eyes constantly scanning the area, ears alerted to anything out of the ordinary. As for her features, they're mostly human, definitely more than Alopex's. So, it may be that she's the one to notice the other first, even though the fox is clad in a cloak. There's more to it than that. Namely, a more animalistic scent. An eyebrow slides upward and she slows to a stop, watching.

Alopex has posed:
The hood and cloak hides some, but easily not all of Alopex's features. Most notably are the tail and the white fur on her lower legs. She didn't feel a need to cover -all- the way up on her walk for food. She had learned that people were not quite so critical of her in Mutant Town, but she had to be sure that the Foot couldn't identify her when she wandered out. There's a point where she pauses, glances up, and takes a long look around. Something must have caught her attention. Though, the way she's glancing about, one may realize she's glancing at the food joints in the vicinity, like she's trying to decide on one.

Wolfsbane has posed:
In contrast, there is no looking at Wolfsbane and not realizing she's different. She's also wearing things that have a distinct scent to them compared to normal fabrics, but there are lots of smells in the big cities, lots of noises, lots of trash. All that in mind, she's the one who catches sight of the white-furred creature first, noting what the cloak covers and what it does not. The tail, quite the fluffy thing, is impossible to miss. "Ahh..hullo?" she begins, moving more into view.

Alopex has posed:
It's not every day someone wanders up to Alopex and says hello. Granted, most of the time she's travelling across rooftops and along buildings, keeping up and out of the way from most people wandering. She isn't today, and as such... well, maybe this isn't so bad. "Ah... yes?" her tone is neutral and her form is still, but calm. She isn't sure what to think just yet.

Wolfsbane has posed:
"Pardon th' bluntness, but I dinna think I've seen ye around Mutant Town before," Wolfsbane begins, the tilt of her head showing her curiosity. "Are ye new here?" She's got fangs and claws, pointed ears, fur from head to toe. But, no tail, and bare feet. "Ye'll see a lot o' people around here tha' are obvious mutants, but I can already see ye're trying tae be a wee bit careful about it." Then she realizes something. "Och, sorry. Muh name's Rahne, but I usually go by Wolfsbane." She hesitates on offering a hand.

Alopex has posed:
Ah. That explains it. Just a native being nice to another native, or at least that's what Alopex is going to hope for right now. She's being cautiously optimistic. "Yes, new is the right word. I'm passing through since it's easier to get food here than it is .. um, elsewhere," she decides to say before introductions are given. "Interesting names. I only go by Alopex," she tells, accepting the offer for a handshake. "Well met."

Wolfsbane has posed:
"Ahh. Alopex Lagopus? Th' arctic fox?" Wolfsbane replies, going through with the handshake. Hers is noted to be on the gentle side, perhaps inicating her nature. She also reveals an understanding of the scientific name for the fox once the first part of the name is given. "An'..aye, there are a lot o' places around here ye can eat a', some better than others."

Alopex has posed:
Rahne is the first person to point out just what her name is. "Oh, ah. ... yes, I think. I never really looked into it but I'm inclined to believe it." Her own handshake is firm, but she isn't trying to prove anything. "I had a feeling. I figured a lot of more... different looking mutants can come here and not have to deal with being stared at just for looking different.."

Wolfsbane has posed:
Wolfsbane flashes a self-conscious smile, for a moment. "Sorry, I've done a fair amount o' studying when it comes tae wolves an' foxes an' things." Shouldn't be hard to imagine why, based on her own look, even if her features are not currently as defined as Alopex's. "Some people still get looks, but it's easier tae fit in here if ye look different. Tha' doesna mean it's safe, though. There's always danger around if ye're no' careful," she explains. The accent is not from around here.

Alopex has posed:
"Yeah, well, that's just life in general, to be honest. Still, it's nice to know there's friendly people in the town over here. Really appreciate that and the advice too. It's the first time I've come through here on foot, at street level.."

Wolfsbane has posed:
Wolfsbane's right hand rests against her hip, the other left to lay at her side. "Whit do ye mean, a' street level? How do ye usually get around?" Her eyes shift up, then down, not making the connection just yet. "I actually live away from here, no' all tha' far away but no' in th' city itself. I just come over here from time tae time for different things."

Alopex has posed:
The fox actually smiles at the question, pointing up, "Roof tops, one building to another, usually. Makes it easy to spot things at a distance. It's also surprising how many people just never bother to look up when they're doing things." Hmm. "What brought you all the way over here then this time, if you don't mind me asking?"

Wolfsbane has posed:
A look of understanding crosses the wolfen woman's features, nodding slowly as she glances skyward. It's dark enough that someone could be up there right now watching them and might not be noticed. "Tha' makes sense. I have..other ways o' sneaking around sometimes if I need tae," she explains without really explaining a thing. "I have a few friends who run a club over here. It's no' really muh thing, but I was watching th' area just in case."

Alopex has posed:
"Ah, I've been in a club once or twice, too loud for me, and way too much going on.." Better nose, better ears... depending on the club, if there's a lot of wub wub and drug drug going on, that's just not a place that Alopex is comfortable in. "So.. yeah. like I said, I'm just in the area to get some food, that's about it."

Wolfsbane has posed:
"Aye, I feel th' same way," Wolfsbane agrees. Who knows. A quieter club might work, but most clubs aren't quiet when their focus is on partying, flashing lights, and loud, thumping music. "If ye dinna mind me asking, whit sorts o' food do ye like? Meat, I'm guessing?" That would be what a predator would lean toward. She eases back so she's partly in an alley as a group of people draw near on the other side of the street, watching them attentively.

Alopex has posed:
"Good guess," Alopex tells, "Though I really do like burgers when they're really well made. That aside, yes, still a carnivore, still like eating things that used to move, I won't like about that." Noticing Wolfbane's movement, she decides to slip to into the same alley with a light sigh. "I see what you mean.."

Wolfsbane has posed:
Grinning, Wolfsbane responds with some agreement. "I canna lie. I like something tasty like tha' as well, but..I've never really been comfortable wi' hunting." Now that could be news to the fox.

The group is loud and boisterous, probably having had too much to drink. "I saw them around th' club. Probably harmless, but best no' tae risk it," she says, slipping into a slight crouch. Is it Alopex's eyes, or did the wolfen woman's features just get a little more..wolfen? A faint shift of some kind, perhaps.

*sniffsniff*

"Ach. I can smell th' alcohol all th' way over here." A frown in place, she shakes her head. "I canna stand th' stuff. It just leads tae trouble. Best we let them move along unless ye're in a mood for trouble."

Alopex has posed:
Ugh. Drunks. She has no love for people that drink themselves into another person altogether. "Same. I don't bother with the stuff. What's the point?" she asks, sounding a little irritated at the very thought of it. She settles into a similar posture, "Mm.. well I hope they pass quickly. Much as I'm enjoying our meeting, I'm really getting hungry."

Wolfsbane has posed:
They do move along, which gives the two animalistic types the chance to continue unaccosted. "It's disgusting, if ye ask me. It smells, it leaves ye slower, dumber, louder..I dinna understand it either," Wolfsbane gripes, another headshake, but the defensive stance begins to loosen up as the potential threat passes. "So..how long have ye been coming around here? Were ye born here? Are ye a mutant like me?" A few of /those/ questions surface, rapid-fire, even as Alopex's hunger is brought up.

Alopex has posed:
Oh good, the group marches on, and Alopex's distracted gaze comes back to Wolfsbane as she stands a bit more straight. "Ah, not long. I just started living in the Bronx not too long ago. ... No.. I'm actually from Alaska.. I.. dont know? I actually started out as a Fox, so, probably not. "

Wolfsbane has posed:
"Alaska?" Wolfsbane's focus returns to the white fox. "Tha's verra far away. I dinna think I've ever been there before. How did ye end up oot here?" It's the last part that gets the Scottish mutant to suddenly stop, checking to make sure, "Did ye say ye used tae be a fox?" The information catches her off-guard, no question about it.

Alopex has posed:
"I... got here ... well it's a long story I'm not going to go into right now, no offense. If I do I'm gonna end up starving," she jokes before realizing what the woman flinched at. "Ah, yes, that is right. I'm a different sort of mutant. Pretty rare, but there are a few of us around."

Wolfsbane has posed:
Wolfsbane rubs the back of her neck, and she glances back out to the street. It's darker in here, though she seems to be able to see the arctic fox just fine, and she nods once. "I understand. We all have our secrets or things we may no' want tae talk about, especially wi' a stranger. But..I think I should show ye something." Without warning, her form fluidly shifts, bringing her from wolfen woman to nothing but an actual reddish-colored wolf. Whatever she was wearing looks as if it's disappeared, no trace of it left behind save a nearly invisible band around a foreleg. The animal looks up from her new perspective, and 'paws' as if to shake.

Alopex has posed:
Welp. That surprised the fox. That surprised her -entirely-. "Oh wow, a full shapeshifter huh?" Alopex asks once she regains her composure. "That's... really interesting," she comments, accepting the dog-shake. "I know mutants have a lot of different powers but that is not one I've run into in person."

Wolfsbane has posed:
There comes a chuff from the wolf, who looks about as amused at Alopex's surprise as a wolf possibly can as her head dips in enough of a nod to make it obvious. After lowering her paw, she changes forms again and the clothing returns. This time, there's no fur of any kind, no animalistic features, and small, soft-soled shoes appear to cover her feet. "Aye, a full shapeshifter. I canna talk tha' other way, but noo I wonder if we'd be able tae understand each other. I..sort o' feel a bit different when I let tha' side o' me oot. I think it's a kind o' influence tha' comes in."

Mostly, Wolfsbane's amused she got to pull off a surprise like that with someone she thought would appreciate it. Also, her skin is quite pale, no sign of a tan even in the dark of the alley. "But we should get tae walking again if we're tae find th' place ye have in mind. Did ye mind company a bit longer?"

Alopex has posed:
"Doubt it, to be honest. I can't understand other animals, even foxes, when I've seen them, so I doubt I could understand you fully changed over," Alopex explains once the woman is fully human from head to toe again. "And nah, I don't mind. Pick a place and we can just get something to eat. May as well chatter a bit more."
