Cast of Characters: Doctor Doom, Professor Zoom
Tinyplot: Speed of Doom

Doctor Doom has posed:
The day has come; the prototype is ready. Doom has been examining the tech at stages along the way, quietly impressed with Harrison's work and identifying where improvements can be made. He arrives in the lab now, ready to discuss matters with his fellow (captive) scientist.
"Doctor Wells, are we ready?" he asks, though he already knows the answer. "Was there any trouble integrating any of the improvements I suggested?" These, mostly, were to eliminate potential weaknesses in the design to allow the sensors to withstand the supposedly destructive energies they're about to look into.

Professor Zoom has posed:
Truth be told, it was a technology from this timelines future Eobard was screwing around with, and adapting for modern use. He was in one of the most bleeding edge facilities in the world under Victor Von Dooms resources, and for once, didn't need to hide his acumen nearly as much as he usually does. If Eobard Thawne actually used his considerable knowledge and genius to it's full potential in the information era, he'd be revolutionizing many industries.

Unluckily for the world, Eobard Thawne knows what he's doing when it comes to timeline manipulation. Also unluckily for the world, Eobard Thawne still has no reliable means of getting home.

And so we come to today. 'Harrison Wells' has been busy rebuilding one of his many prototypes from his time as a Professor of the Speed Force at the Flash museum. The complex, fragile machine was not portable by any means, with most of the material going into a reinforced containment unit; Harrison wasn't kidding when he said the energy was very volatile.

Right now, he's making some final adjustments to the calibration of the antennae with a screwdriver as he spoke, "I wouldn't call it easy. This is a very complicated machine, and I had to take into account the flux your improvements generated. There's a good chance that the first time it siphons energy for anaylsis, this thing will melt from the inside... but I've done the best I could."

Doctor Doom has posed:
"Even so, I should be able to collect enough data on the initial testing to make further adjustments to improve stability." Doom replies calmly, walking up to rest a hand on the thing. "What is the most reliable target of study; a user of this force? How common are the storms you spoke of on the news?" The object is, by his resting of his hand there, shown a degree of approval from the notorious monarch.

Then it is removed, and Doom turns to face a single humanoid thing coming into the room. It is very likely one of his robots, modified for speed if one can judge by the joint configuration along with some of its design features. No chance of it ever competing with a Speedster, but it should be fast enough to draw interest.

He turns back to face Harrison, awaiting response.

Professor Zoom has posed:
"Speed Force storms are very uncommon. They happen when a Speed Force user makes a mistake traveling through the dimension where the Speed Force generates and physically punches through the wall back into our reality." Harrison continues. Having finished with the screwdriver adjustment, he turns to regard the robot, "the tear in our world that forms as a result allows the plasma like energy of raw Speed Force to 'leak' into our reality. This energy is extremely dangerous and lethal to most people, being both pure energy and matter at once. The discharges from the outlet is what makes it look like a 'storm'. In reality, as can think of it as a fuel that self-perpetuates. The self-repairing nature of that energy seals the hole like a wound after a whole, like a scab."

He gestures to a recorded video of the original storm Impulse created on a terminal nearby, "as you'll notice at the start of the storm, someone came through and landed." He turns to regard Doom, "if you want another to happen, you'll need to find a Speed Force user, force them to enter the Speed Force dimension, and intentionally have them break the barrier."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom contemplates as he watches the video, arms crossed in what is his typical fashion. "I see. So we'll need to draw one out. I doubt my robots - at least initially - will be much challenge. They're built for great speeds, but... what little I've been able to find suggest those that use the Speed Force would outclass them without so much as a thought. And am I to understand that those who survive a touch of the energy in a Storm, may become a conduit?"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"From all indications, those who use the Speed Force naturally are capable of speeds greater than even our best sensors can detect. I'd even wager they can go near the speed of light." Harrison corrects, before he pauses the video at the peak of the storm. "it's raw Speed Force. It'd be like getting hit by plasma. It'd melt you alive or electrocute you to death instantly if you get hit by it, unless you're someone like Superman or the Hulk." He gestures over the various 'lightning' bolts, "accounts of the storm suggested at least two Speedsters involved. One with yellow and one with red lightning."

Harrison looks back to Victor, "Without a baseline to learn how they're connected, I can't guarantee anyone could become a conduit, because I don't know the process that created the Flash."

Doctor Doom has posed:
"Hmm.... I may have some ideas on that; from what you've said so far, it sounds like part of the problem we face is the level of energy generated. A trial run with the current prototype still seems viable, but we're going to need to find a way to bleed off or ablate the bulk of the output." Doom posits to Harrison. "Who are our targets, and what can you tell me about them?"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"You have three potential targets that I'm aware of." Harrison continues as he watches Victor, "the first is the Flash himself. He's incredibly fast though, and I wouldn't say he'd be your easiest target."

He turns back to the sensor, and a hologram of Impulse pops up, "your second option is the new Speedster. By all accounts, he was what dropped out of the Speed Force Storm that bought me to your attention. I have no baseline for him for you, so he'd be an unknown."

Another pops up, this time of the Reverse-Flash outfit, "This one has popped up on the news occasionally, and was seen fighting the Flash himself on his own terms. It's safe to say he's just as fast as the Flash is."

Harrison turns back to regard Victor, "Which would you prefer?"

Doctor Doom has posed:
"Let's go with the unknown; I agree with your assessment about the Flash. This unknown may be just that, but it may also mean he's less skilled and confident in his abilities. We'll see how it bears out, however." Doom replies without hesitation. He lowers his hand from the chin of his mask where it had been touching, and looks a bit longer at the image of Impulse. "How soon can your end of things be ready for our first interaction?"

Professor Zoom has posed:
"The sensor and containment vessel are both ready now. It's just a matter of setting The correct ambush." Harrison points out. "We can commence the capture anytime you wish."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom says smoothly, "Excellent. I see no further reason to hesitate, and I have an idea about the ambush. Get everything ready, we'll depart shortly." And with that, he turns sharply enough that there's a dramatic whirl of his cloak as he strides from the room. His servant bots go about their tasks quickly, removing the speed bots and preparing all equipment that's going to go.

Professor Zoom has posed:
"I'll do that." Harrison nods slowly, before he turns around and begins to get the equipment ready.

Finally, outside the security net he'll be able to contact Gideon and maybe warn the Flash while Victor is distracted with the fight. He won't have long... but it'll be long enough for the Flash to be told about the Doombot.

Doctor Doom has posed:
Is Doom suspicious treachery? Might Harrison get caught? Maybe, but right now Doom has other things to worry about; transportation, entry into America that won't raise too many eyebrows... That sort of thing.

Preparations are made in a whirlwind of activity that might actually impress a Speedster. Well, maybe not, but it's still pretty darn efficient.
