Shadowcat has posed:
"Probably," Kitty murmurs and then grabs a handful of Jason's hair and pulls him back down once he's caught a breath.

Time passes.

Kitty gives a laugh and curls up against him as they lounge on the couch. Kitty sends off a text to Carrie letting her know where they are. "There's still chicken tenders over there," Kitty says. She brought back a bunch plus a smorgasbord of dipping sauces to go with it.

"So we should get together with Barbara sometime soon. Haven't seen her since that day at your house you told them about the All Caste," she tells Jason. "Speaking of... are we getting close to heading out there? I ran into Lara Croft yesterday. Didn't mention that I was involved in this part as I wasn't sure if you went to her as Jason or Red Hood."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley shoots a text back saying she'd be there ASAP. Chicken sounded good after all. Plus it had been awhile since she'd had a chance to catch up with them in a manner that didn't require keeping secret identities properly secret. None the less she shoots off a quick text of 'Here. Better not be naked.' befores he enters.

"Hey guys. Brought some drinks," she offers out holding up a case of soda in hand. It wasn't the alcoholic type of course but drinks were still drinks.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason's dressed? Well. No shirt - Kitty stole it. But he's working on finding a new one. "Damn." he mutters when Carrie arrives.

After pulling on a fresh t-shirt, he reaches into his wallet and gets out a ten dollar bill, handing it to Kitty when he comes back over. Clearly, he lost a bet.

"Thanks, the chicken's over on the table with the sauces." he points out as he drops back on the couch, and eyes Kitty at her question. "I may go alone." he admits with a shrug. "I mean, there hasn't been any attacks recently, and they may have just been screwing with me."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde takes the money, chuckling, and hops up from the couch. She's wearing a men's dress shirt which might explain Jason's lack of one. "Yeah, you and I could go alone," Kitty agrees with Jason, just inserting the little correction in his statement as she shakes her head at him for trying to slip that one through.

Kitty moves over to give Carrie a hug of greeting. She snags two of the sodas with a grateful smile for them. "How're things?" Kitty asks as she moves back over to the couch, giving Jason a soda and leaving room for Carrie to fit on there with them in cozy fashion.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley rolls her eyes at the sight of the love birds in their rather... disarray of clothing. "Want me to go back out and give you guys another five minutes or would that make things worse?" She teases even as Kitty steps up to hug her. Chuckling she offers out the chilled drinks and finds a place to sit that is hopefully not TOO dirty. Never could tell around here.

The talk of going somewhere causes an eyebrow to lift. Cracking open the tab of her soda with a fingernail she remarks, "This about those smoke-ninjas? They've been kind of quiet awhile."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde grins to Carrie and says, "Would probably make it worse." She winks to her friend and then when Carrie sits with them, Kitty rests her legs across the other woman's basically including her in the cuddle pile, if allowed. "Yes, was talking about them. The threat they pose to this Lazarus Pit, and whatever defenders are left for it," she explains.

Kitty takes a sip of the soda and then lets out a sigh. "So much going on. Sorry things didn't work out better with Doug. But he's a good friend even if it doesn't go anywhere else."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley kicks her own legs out on the coffee table and rests a hand over Kitty's with a chuckle. Lightly shaking her head, she lifts her soda to take a drink. "Damian was always more informed on that stuff than me. It's kind of what the other side of his family is partially known for after all." A little shrug is given, and she flashes a grin.

"Ah don't worry about that. We still had fun going to the movie. I think I'm just..." Her head tips upward with a thoughtful expression. "Kind of been thinking about what you asked the other night. What kind of guy I like. And you know? I don't think I really know. I usually just start liking someone after spending some time together."

Shadowcat has posed:
"I've had some like that. And others, like a particular knuckle-head you know, it was more of a first-sight kind of thing. Though, that still has to grow too," Kitty says. Some of Jason's family still seem to wonder how exactly that happened with them. Though a few who have asked have heard a bit and come away with a different view of the Wayne black sheep son.

"Well, tell you what. When there are some fun things happening, I'll invite you around when I can. No pressure. If you hit it off with someone great, if not, not. I won't create any expectations or suggest anything. There's all sorts of great guys at the school. And they'd understand you being Kestrel if you wanted to share it," she says. Kitty reaches over to gives Carrie's arm a squeeze and a pat. "So movie was good though?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley grins brightly at the offer with a little incline of her head. "Thanks, Kitty. I appreciate that a lot. I really love the friends I've made in school and theater, but we're just at that point that everyone's going their own way. And I'm going this weird ass way running around in tights so it makes it hard to keep up." Reaching up she pats the hand on her arm thankfully.

"Oh yeah that movie was great! You should drag Jason to see it. Or try to. He might fight that one," she reasons with a little impish smirk. "So otherwise, how have things been going? I haven't had a lot of update on my progress with the 'coins' being passed around Gotham's underworld lately since that last incident. Anything new on your end?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty laughs and says, "Jason would probably repel up to the ceiling and climb out, or move over to another theater, if I took him to it." She grins and takes a sip of her soda, looking over to Jason where he's dozed off. That's ok, he earned the nap.

"Well, still trying to make contact with Megatron. The giant robot that Norton turned out to be the machine consciousness of. And hoping I didn't lose a demon on the world," she says with a forlorn sigh. "Um.. what else? The Sentinels, more and more worried. There is understanding being gained but we've not really put it to use in a way that stops them."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley crinkles her nose a bit at that though the sleeping and likely snoring Jason does earn a smirk from her. "Hmmm. Yeah, that is some tough stuff there. Maybe I could talk to the boss about creating some sort of EMP that works on those monstrocities. I'm sure they're shielded against regular ones. I'm not really the creator sort myself though." Or at least she didn't think of herself as that. "Did that information we got from that Norton turned Megatron at least help us learn more about the Sentinels? Or was it just a ploy? He really managed to seem sincere about handing it over."

Shadowcat has posed:
"It was actually helpful. Schematics of the technology they use to shut down mutant powers around them. I've experience first hand a more powerful version, technology from the future. Rogue had the one from the schematic used on her in a fight at the Avenger's facility. Please do not share this with anyone, but we have developed a counter. It's not easy to fabricate though. We only have managed to make a couple so far," Kitty says. "We don't want the Sentinels or Trask to get wind that we have a counter."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Of course not!" Carrie blurts out with a firm nod. "Wouldn't dream of it. A secret weapon is always a great thing to have. I mean, I can't even imagine what it would be like to have some ability or skill that just suddenly..." Her hands lift making vague, short gestures. "Don't work. Wouldn't that be like losing a limb or something? I'd freak out if some machine showed up and used something like that on me. I'm glad you guys were able to find a way to counter it. We need more ways to fight against those things."

Shadowcat has posed:
"That's exactly how it felt. Or like being partially paralyzed or losing your hearing or eyes or... yes, it was a horrible feeling," Kitty confirms. "Also it's a good reason for me to keep training with Jason and Bruce and their family. I was already a competent fighter but I really relied on my power a lot. It is good to be prepared for if I don't have it. Though, it's kind of tough to fight a Sentinel with batarangs. I mean, the right payload might have some success, but still. The sheer size. Bruce did blow one up that was attacking me, shooting missiles from the Batwing. That was before I knew who he was," she shares.

Kitty reaches over to rest her hand in Carrie's and squeeze, leaving it there if Carrie is fine with it. "I appreciate you guys being on our side. Sometimes... I see so much hatred towards us and it just makes me want to curl into a little ball and cry."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley just gives her friend's hand a squeeze back with a nod of understanding. Pursing her lips together in a tight smile, she offers, "Hey, we've always got your back, you know. I really feel like I ought to step up my own training though. Right now I'd be nothing against one of those things, even with some of the equipment we use." Of course that wouldn't stop her from trying either if it came up. "I did have an offer from one of the Titans for more training. I might take her up on that a bit."

Shadowcat has posed:
"More preparation is always a good thing," Kitty says with a nod. "Well, ok, I mean you can overdo it, but you know what I mean." She chuckles and takes a sip of her soda. "So you got to meet Wolverine when we went and picked up Doug. He and I go way back. I didn't really get a chance to introduce you properly, with hiding your identity and all. But known him since I was 13. He's the one who trained me to be a ninja," Kitty explains. "He's kind of gruff. But you always know what you're getting from him. He's not going to mince words. He's not going to tell you what you need to hear to feel good. It's going to be the truth. Even when it's hard. There's something to be said for that."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley bites her lower lip at mention of Wolverine trying so very hard to not look both amused, and guilty. "Yes, I met him," she mumbles as she brings her drink up to take a sip and partially hide her face. Her toes wiggle a little as she glances just to the side regarding some innocuous spot on the wall. Just how much did he tell Kitty about that time in the truck? Eh heh. "He uh... Yeah he seems like a nice enough guy. Kind of like the Boss when he's in 'work mode' only... okay not quite."

Shadowcat has posed:
Maybe Carrie did not totally manage the not looking guilty. "What?" Kitty asks, sitting up just a little bit as she spots the expression on Carrie's face. "You've got something on your mind," Kitty says, giving Carrie's hand that she's holding a tight squeeze. "Spill the goods, lady!" she says with a grin.

Kitty grabs one of the chicken strips with her free hand, nibbling on it without sauce. She looks over at Jason, sleeping there, and brings it over near to his nose so he'll smell it. It does make him stir a bit in his sleep, but not enough to wake apparently.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley lets out a little 'oof' of breath when Kitty starts to squrm. Patting the legs across her lap she leans forward to snag a chicken strip too. "Well we were riding back to town and just talked awhile about stuff is all. Nothing really important. Then at one point he stopped the truck, and..." She rolls her shoulders in a shrug as her grin deepens but she opts for stuffing her mouth with the chicken to give herself time to draw this out. Sure it was mean, messing with Kitty a bit, but... It was also fun.

"I mean, you know, we're both adults..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde sits up and both of her hands go to her head. "Oh god! Oh god! I need bleach. Pour bleach in my head! Ew ew ew! That's like... like being with my father!" Kitty exclaims. "Ew ew ew!" She shakes her head. Never getting that mental image out of her head. Never.

Kitty lets out a breath. Then sighs. "I mean... happy for you. Just... you know it's like... picturing you and Bruce making out. Except much worse." She closes her eyes and shakes her head. "Oh god. So, are you... you know, are you going to see him again?" she says. "I mean I'll deal if you do. He's great in his way and... I don't mean to talk you away from him. It's just the... father figure isn't the right word, but you get what I mean It hink?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley breaks out into a laugh at Kitty's reaction, nearly doubling over to clap a hand over her mouth. Chicken almost went everywhere. Almost. She gulps it down, and reaches out to pat Kitty's arm with a clap or two as she struggles to catch her breath. "Oh god no, no man, but your *face*!" Another peal of laughter comes from her and she rubs at her eyes to swipe away a few tears from laughing so hard.

"I'm sorry Kitty I just... Hoo! No we didn't... He pretty much grilled me about your relationship with Jason." Red faced and still taking a few quick breaths to get herself back in sorts. "I may have kind of annoyed him by saying I met you because you started 'banging my ex' and he started questioning me almost nonstop after that."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde lets out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank god. I mean, I love him but I wouldn't wish him on you, really. You're 20 and he's... much older than he looks," Kitty says. "And he stabs things. All the time." She grins over to Carrie and then leans over to give her a hug.

"I'm going to try to sleep like Jason is. Though I have a bad feeling I'm going to dream of you and... ew ew ew!" Kitty says, shaking her head. She grins over to Carrie and the lies down to close her eyes.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley chuckles quietly at that giving a hug in turn. "Sorry. I didn't mean to gross you out that bad. Get some rest." She shifts and wiggles herself off the couch and pulls a blanket up over the pair. Then on a whim gives Kitty's hair a ruffle. "Sweet dreeeaaams~"
