Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, X-23

Emma Frost has posed:
Not long after the x-outting at the beach, Emma had left claiming that there is always business to attend to. The white queen is now back at the school but she is still wearing her swim suit, an all white two piece set with a large gold ring holding her top together. She wears a saree around her waist that slightly obscures her long smooth legs.

Emma stands in the gym and sighs to herself before taking a breath and stepping in and towards the one person still in the room after a long day. "Laura." Emma begins with a simple greeting. "I was hoping to speak with you. We didn't get much of a chance during the trip."

X-23 has posed:
Laura works hard to keep herself in excellent physical shape, and she's on one of the weight machines, working as Emma enters. She stops, half-turning on the seat to face the teacher. Her expression, as usual, is hard to pick out; her emotions rarely reach her face. "We can speak. What do you wish to speak about?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma steps up to the machine next to Laura and doesn't quite match the younger girl's weight abilities she does seem to work out with some purpose while discussing with the junior stabber. "I was wishing to speak of you. I'm sure everyone has these ideas for you or the like. No?" Emma asks, not knowing who all has talked to Laura or tried to influence her.

X-23 has posed:
Laura frowns a little. "You are not incorrect. So far most of the energy has gone to developing my social skills. There are...a number of different opinions on how to do that." She stops her own workout. There's definitely still some suspicion of Emma there, and she's watching the blonde cautiously.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Suspicion is actually the appropriate response you should be having to any conversation like this." Emma says between lifting weights with her legs. Keeping those calves as toned as she can. "Have anyone here, in their infinite wisdom even bothered to ask you what you'd prefer? Or how you even feel about the subject?" Emma asks, pausing in her lifts to hear out Laura and give the girl some undivided attention, able to make Laura feel like the most important thing in the room. Well, the second.

X-23 has posed:
"That attire does not seem to be practical for a workout." Laura comments on Emma's activity. But the question clearly catches her from an unexpected direction. "Jean asks how I feel about things." Everyone else has been formal. Miss Munroe. Miss Frost. Jean gets first name basis, apparently. "I do wish to improve my social skills, however."

Emma Frost has posed:
"No, it's not practical, but it's what I have." Emma notes with a tilt of her head and then another lift of her legs. "My purpose here is to help you and to help myself. I'm sure you've heard people with less that positive thoughts and reviews of myself, but I will always be forward with you Laura. I want to help you with the hopes that we can develop a mutually beneficial relationship."

X-23 has posed:
Oddly, this is something that Laura feels on more solid ground with. "I see. How would this relationship be mutually beneficial? What is it that I provide?" She knows Jean is not a fan of Emma, but aside from the whole "getting possessed by the Shadow King", Laura has nothing to hold against her.

Emma Frost has posed:
"As you are now, you're an incredible asset. Were as I am not in certain situations. You're the apex predator in the very literal sense where as I don't have that killer instinct. I have a tenacious business mind and am able to help people become the best versions of themselves, the ideal versions they want to be. That's my gift. I'm not a fighter. I can fight, but it's not what I'm great at." Emma explains. She is cunning and mind, while Laura is the opposite, Laura is feral and a machine. "I'll help you with your social skills any time you'd like, if you'd help me with problems better suited for you and your skills. And of course this would be a fluid dynamic, able to be adjusted as our maturities and life developments require." Emma says without that business smile she uses on clients. No. This is an agreement between two vastly intelligent women, no need to fake niceties.

X-23 has posed:
Laura listens. "This sounds as if you want me to use my skills in the way The Facility did." In other words, being an assassin. A really, really good assassin. "I am already prepared to use my training and abilities as needed as an X-Man. But what you are proposing sounds more personal." No sign of any offense. If anything, inwardly she's curious, though it's not showing externally.

Emma Frost has posed:
"I don't need a wet works agent if that's what you think I'm implying. Though there are some people in my history that are likely going to try to use me to betray this school and the x-men. I could use someone that trusts me enough to know I am here for good. I'd like to build that reporte with you, as you're somehow the most innocent member on the team. Mostly due to your age." Emma notes brazenly and then she begins to climb from the machine. "At this point, I'd like to have someone on the team I know doesn't think I'm the worst person on the planet."

X-23 has posed:
That gets...possibly the most emotional reaction Laura's given to anyone but Jean. She looks back at Emma...blinks...and then laughs. Not a mean-spirited "ha ha I'm laughing at you" laugh...but honest hilarity. She manages to rein it in after a couple moments, and then wipes at an eye. Thankfully, no makeup to run. "You think. I am the most /innocent/ member of the team." She repeats. She reins things in, back to her emotionless poker face. "I likely have a higher body count than anyone else on our team. I was raised to be a weapon. I sincerely doubt I qualify as innocent."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Body count isn't everything Laura. You're a dangerous girl in a physical way, but in nearly every other aspect, you are a novice, thus your innocence is preserved. You don't have the same body count I do. Or the same background as Ororo. Or Jean even. We all have skins on the walls, or skeletons in the closets. You Laura, have only a body count." Emma says with a shrug of her shoulders. "People are afraid when you become even more dangerous." Emma says with a flick of her eyebrow before heading out the door. "I'm looking forward to it." With that Emma finds the door and slips out of the gym. Hoping to have made an ally even if not a friend.
