Coffee Talk=A coffee date, as proposed to Kurt by Sibilance
Date of Scene: 31 May 2019
Location: Fred's Diner - Mutant Town
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Nightcrawler, Sibilance

Nightcrawler has posed:
As requested, Kurt has made himself available, at Fred's in Mutant Town. In a suit, because why not be ostentacious? He waits at one of the tables, so he faces the door, but he appears to have slipped into daydreaming.
Cheek on his fist, tail flicking back and forth as his eyes watch the wall -over- the door, a bit of a smile on his face whatever it is he's thinking of.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil slips into the building, the door jangling as she does so. She's wearing that white sundress with the blue flower pattern, with her long socks and sandals, and a brown coat over it for the sake of maintaining personal warmth. She seems a bit sleepy, or lethargic.
She approaches Kurt and smiles up at him, the diminutive snake-like mutant saying, "Hello~ What're you thinking about?" She could just, well, /look/, but that would be rude. Friends are owed their privacy.

Nightcrawler has posed:
Blinking as he comes out of his reverie, Kurt stands abruptly "OH! I was wool gathering is all, better times, good memories ja?" embaressed he moves to pull out a seat for her and waiting for her to sit down to help slide the chair in.
"Lovely day though, and you still look ravashing in that dress, it truly suits your colors." bowing his head politely.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibilance blushes deeply, the compliment making her quite happy. She slips into her seat, and waits for him to help slide her into place. She's mindful of her tail, laying it over her lap. She digs into her pockets -- she's wearing a pair of shorts under her dress -- and produces a wallet that isn't the least bit girly, but sets it down between her legs. Mostly so she won't have to dig in her pockets awkwardly again later.
"So... where are you from, Kurt? Do you have any blood relatives?"

Nightcrawler has posed:
"Ja... I do, one that I know for certain. We do not speak often." Kurt gives a fragile smile, "I'm from Bavarian Germany, though no real set home. Circus folk." he lightens some and looks towards her, "And you? So exotic? I'd say central Mexico, but I've not been in a long time, so I expect I'm being horribly offensive." tipping a wink.

Sibilance has posed:
"Si, Mexico is where I hail from. My family emigrated when I was still very small. My X-gene triggered... progressively," she touches her face. "The physical features were there since I was a babe. My relatives, they live in Arizona now, though I haven't spoken to them in years. They seem to be doing alright without me. I caused them such pain, so I stay away for their sake." Sibilance has her own sad smile to show after that.
"Do you have a girlfriend, Kurt?" she wonders.

Nightcrawler has posed:
Kurt Wagner's brows knit and he sighs, nodding to a coffee pot that is levitated over, and pours out two cups while flavorings, creamer, and such are set down. "I'm sorry, they should not have such pain, for any reason." he reaches across to pat the back of her hand. "How long have you been on your own?

Sibilance has posed:
"I have been on my own since I was about... thirteen. I wandered across the greater United States and had to learn how to use my abilities the hard way. It's a miracle that I'm alive, or some cruel twist of fate. It's only in the last... year or two that I managed to get free of the cycle of fear that had me crippled," Sibilance explains.
She idly pours some sugar and creamer into her coffee after this, and then takes a big gulp. The heat of it doesn't seem to bother her. In fact, it helps pep her up. "Mmh~" So happy.

Nightcrawler has posed:
"Cycle... crippled?" his brow knits, and if she's reading surface thoughts the fact he was going to make mention of the current, tenuous start of a relationship with a fellow X-man blows away in a wave of curious concern. "What happened to you, Mein Dame?" creaming and sugaring the bejeezus out of his own coffee before he takes a smaller sip.

Sibilance has posed:
She did pick up on it. It's a bit disappointing, but the blow is softened by Charles' words to take her feelings slowly. Sibil tells herself it's best not to get attached to people that way so quickly. She breathes a sigh, welcoming the change of topic.
"I had to live homeless for almost half of my life. Whenever I drew too much attention, I moved to another place. I... used my abilities to hitch a ride to my new hideaway." Rumors over the last few years of the 'hitchhiking lizard' or similar must've been her, if he's heard of them. Never any pictures or footage, she was very careful. "I have the ability to control the minds of others. Temporarily, but it was long enough to find safety."
"Sometimes, it wasn't enough. Sometimes I would be cornered. The Friends of Humanity..." she pauses, a sour look on her face recounting the name. She doesn't continue, giving a more vague explanation. "I've had to do violent things to protect myself."
"Hiding, then running, and again and again."

Nightcrawler has posed:
Face darkening briefly at the name of the Friends of Humanity, Kurt sighs and shakes his head. "Gott forgives, He knows you did what you must in a world where so few understand what it is to feel and give love freely." He motions with his tail and a brief look and the coffee pot moves to set on the table now.
"Whatever you did, to stay alive... I know He would forgive you, and I would understand. Terrible things have happened to us, and we did what we needed to to survive." golden eyes sad as he watches her expressions.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil lowers her gaze into her coffee, her own golden eyes focused on her dim reflection for a second. "I don't need His forgiveness. I need yours, and the other Mutants, and my friends. He will do as He likes, and I'm not going to agonize over that." She seems a little less sure of God's plan.
"I need to be able to forgive myself. To make it worth the hardship. Si? Or I may as well just let the wilds take me."

Nightcrawler has posed:
Kurt Wagner frowns deeper at that. "Can I know some of what you had to do? If you think I can know it. I can share as well, if you would ask me questions." he shifts in his seat, head tilting, and it's clear he wishes to offer some sort of comfort, a hug, another hand pat, but at the same time worried he will look like he's being too forward.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibilance thinks about that, and opts to enjoy her coffee for a minute instead of continuing that line of conversation. She looks at him carefully, and decides to ask, "So who is it, that swept you off your feet before I could get to it?" he wonders to her, with a playful smile. She doesn't want to be so grim right now.

Nightcrawler has posed:
"Her name is Rahne, and we've known one another for a long time..." brow knitting a little as he might be blushing - hard to tell with the fuzz. "She used to hate me, because I look like a demon, but it's new... feeling things out - neither of us know where it will go, it just... happened when I got back into town." definately embaresed judging by the grin.

Sibilance has posed:
"Mm. I'm jealous. The girl from the beach party, then," Sibil says, remembering the name. "She seems cute enough. My first... lover, as it were, was this fellow named Lin. He's a horndog, honestly, but he's got a good heart. He's living with one of my ... coworkers now, so, small world." She smiles mirthfully. "He's a Mutant, too."
"So... what's your ability do, exactly?" She hasn't actually had much time to experience it. Sure, the physical changes are obvious, but she's also glimpsed his teleportation here and there. The smell of brimstone around him is hard to forget.

Nightcrawler has posed:
"You've seen the extent of it... the teleportation, the flexibility... I see in the dark, I stick to walls. my reflexes are beyond normal humans. But that's really it." he leans back in his seat. "If I had dew-toes I'd have prehensile feet too, but they grip just as well." his tail moves around behind him. "And my tail is about as strong as I am on its own."

Sibilance has posed:
Sibilance nods, apparently impressed with all of that. "The demonic look isn't just your looks, huh. Even the smell your teleportation leaves behind. That's unfortunate, but you wear it all very well. I, a caricature of the Serpent, and you a demon. It's funny. Moreso that we're friends." She grins happily, the cosmic humor of the idea occuring to her.
"If Nate hits on me again when he finds out I'm 'available' I might bite him-- oh, yes. Venomous fangs." She opens her mouth and taps them. They don't unfold like a viper. Her snake appearance has some inaccuracies that come from her mammalian origins. "Can you teach me acrobatics?" she wonders. Going a mile a minute. Probably because she slugged that coffee.

Nightcrawler has posed:
"But of course, Ainsley - I would be honored to be allowed to teach you." smiling at the fangs. "If you have been allowed in at the school I can teach you in the gym, or on the grounds, or wherever. Travel is not hard for me... But if I take someone with it can be tiring for them, even a short hop can feel like running a mile." Kurt looks chagrinned at that. "And I needn't worry of you looking 'the serpent', Ainsley. For one thing that was a vile creature, and I only see a beautiful woman here." tipping a wink.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibilance mentions, "I have my own feelings on that topic, but religion is a bad topic for a casual chat." She waves for another cup, and says, "Decaf, please." She says, "I'm allowed in the school. Charles vetted me. I am no risk to you or the others."
"Is there anything else you would like to talk about?" she prompts, while she gathers up the sugar and creamer to mix this next cup, smiling mildly.

Nightcrawler has posed:
"Well I would apologize for offending you, if I did. How do you like the school? If you've not been around much of it I would be happy to take a tour with you. I'm sure once we know eachother better Faith may be something we could truly discuss, ja?" he shrugs now, "Many of my questions seem to reach into pain, and I don't want that for you... so you are finding me at a loss."

Sibilance has posed:
"A tour would be lovely," Sibil answers, with a perk of sitting upright and a brief smile. The admission he has makes her nod, and she serenely mixes this second cup of coffee, and simply sips at it in calm silence. Smiling at him. She seems utterly comfortable with just letting the air settle for a moment.
