Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Cyclops

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost has finally cornered her prey. She stands in the war room with her arms crossed beneath her chest. The white cape she wears on missions hanging from bands around her biceps above the lengthy gloves she wears. "Scott. Cyclops. Summers. Slim. Whatever. Boss." Emma says with a roll of her eyes at the last word as she stabs her ice blue eyes at the leader of the X-men. "Can you tell me the purpose and overall goal of the x-men?" The white queen asks as she keeps standing near the wall and a table that is set up to conduct presentations from.

Cyclops has posed:
"I do answer to most of those, depending on the circumstances." Scott Summers is standing on one side of the table, studying a holographic display of the globe. Several areas are highlighted in yellow, but nothing in red...right at the moment. It's hard to see, but his attention does shift to focus on Emma pretty much fully when she addresses him. There's also little to no hesitation before he answers, "We're the first and last line of defense for mutants against anyone or anything that would try to do them harm. And unfortunately more often than any of us would like also the first and last line of defense for humans and everyone else against mutants that would try to do THEM harm." Scott cants his head, "That's the Cliff's Notes version, anyway. Anything in particular bring on this line of questioning?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Yes, in fact, something did Scott." Emma says with a roll of her eyes as he doesn't clarify what to call him in this situation. The telepath steps around the globe to the side of it so he can see her more clearly and she him, not that she couldn't pin point his location based soley on his thoughts, but she does the move to provide him the comfort. "So with that kind of answer, and with Charles' dream in mind, would you agree that to put it simply we are one of the best PR groups mutantdom has in general?" Emma asks, uncrossing her arms but pressing her finger tips together before her chin, framing her bare shoulders as she hopes Scott picks up what hint she's starting to build to.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott reaches over and shuts down the holo-display for now, but his expression doesn't shift for good or for ill, as he listens to Emma's next question. There's a bit of a nod before he replies, "I think that was one aspect of the X-Men that the Professor hoped for, but circumstance and the general attitude towards mutants put it on the back-burner for a while." He does look curious now, "I'm getting the impression you think we might be able to do more in that particular arena?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"More than secretly keeping a metropolitan bridge from collapsing. More than rescuing hundreds of people from dropping into the rivers when a building collapses." Emma states, sounding a bit exasperated. "If we could do these things in the open. Help people with a knowable face and a smile -Yes, it's not my forte- it might do more good for fighting these damn robots than anything else we've done." Emma says, bringing her hands apart to rest on her hips, accenting her hourglass figure somehow more than just the corset. "The X-men could actually do more than punch Juggernaut. We could be heroes."

Cyclops has posed:
"The X-Men are already heroes. You don't need public validation for that." Scott's tone is not testy or defensive, though, and indeed he continues, "That said, you're right. There are potential benefits to being a more public positive face for mutantkind. Where the follow-on question lies, is whether we have the ability to pull it off without someone twisting every thing we say or do towards the negative, and making the overall situation worse." There's the barest glimmer of a wry smile that touches Scott's face when he adds, "I'm sure you've noticed we've got more than a few...potentially abrasive personalities on the team. Myself included."

Emma Frost has posed:
"You think I haven't thought of that?" Emma asks with her eyebrow moving up slowly as she cocks it at Scott, waiting for him to realize that she's not dumb. She's a CEO of a highly successful company for a reason. "How do the Avengers do it? How does the Justice League do it? How does Spider-man NOT do it. You get out ahead. You control the stories to the press." Emma says turning back around to the table and gestures towards the laptop she opens and shows off a few panels of a powerpoint. "I am willing to hire a PR team to work with the X-men, obviously individuals vetted and approved by you and everyone you would require and with a final bonus to every member by me specifically as well as a mind wipe." Emma says with a shrug as if that's normal. "Custom made costumes for every member of the team, matching or individualized is also, up to you."

Cyclops has posed:
"A...PR team." Scott replies, brow furrowing just a bit. Albeit possibly more at the prospect of mindwipes than the PR team itself. "You've certainly got a lot more expertise in that sort of thing than just about anyone here, but this is a move I'm not inclined to make unilaterally." He considers a moment, "I suggest we discuss this with as much of the team as possible. If most of us agree that this is something we should or want to do, we'll run it by the Professor if he doesn't sit in on the meetings to begin with." He adds, "Though I can definitely say the Professor won't likely be on board with pre-emptive mindwipes of folks we're hiring to help us. So we may have to explore alternative avenues for maintaining operational security."

Emma Frost has posed:
"That's fair. I am concerned about ours and their safety is all, you're right though. I did want to include as many people from the team on this venture as possible. As it will affect them as well." Emma says before she reaches over to her laptop and closes the lid. She takes a breath before stepping closer to Scott and lowers her voice into a deep whisper.

"I think Nate might have damaged my mind that day of the earthquake." The woman whispers quietly and quickly towards Scott. She doesn't explain that she had to ask someone else for his name, but she does hope Scott might have some insight into his future son's abilities or anything. "Has he ever done anything remotely like that?"

Cyclops has posed:
Scott shifts from curious to frowning deeply when Emma confesses her fears as to what may or may not have happened at the Bridge Incident. "That's...disturbing. I'll be the first to admit I know less about Nate than I should, and I owe you an apology for putting both you and him in the field like that without a clear understanding of his limits and potential complications. So I'm sorry for that." He takes in a breath, and lets it out slowly, "I have two sort-of-children from hellish places that I know next to nothing about, both of whom are old enough to be my siblings and powerful enough to mildly terrify me."

Another brief pause and he adds, "When it comes to psychic damage, there's nobody better at helping people heal from than than the Professor, and Jean isn't far behind. Though are you sure it might not just be the psionic equivalent of a muscle tear or something along those lines?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"It might be along those lines, but it's sometimes harder to diagnose an issue when you're the patient." Emma notes as she takes a step back and turns around to get to work repacking her laptop. Not one to sit still, the telepath keeps her hands busy and her mind moving onto the next conversation with Jean or Charles about maybe fixing her possibly damaged mind. She isn't a fan of how things might have happened and how it's been affecting her silently.

Cyclops has posed:
"I realize that probably wasn't easy for you to admit, Emma. So I appreciate your confidence. And thanks for the idea. We'll definitely discuss it more. Anything else you needed?" Scott queries as Emma begins to pack up the laptop, "Actually, if you've got a full proposal on there, go ahead and forward it to my secure email when you get a chance."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma doesn't acknowledge her own weakness and injuries, she even ignores Scott's compliment for the most part, but he does see her hair shift across her back, she does look towards him, but she doesn't release the words. Intead Emma keeps slipping her cables and laptop into her bag before she lifts it over her arm and rests it on her bare skin. "It's already in your e-mail Scott." The telepath says with a nod before she starts to make her way towards the door, her boots clicking on the fine floor as she heads that way.

Cyclops has posed:
"All right. Thank you Emma. If you need anything else I'll likely be down here somewhere." And with that, he flips back on the holo-display, picking right back up on taking notes on the potential "problem areas" yet again.
