Cast of Characters: Cannonball, Cypher, Marvel Girl, Shadowcat, Wolverine

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie has reserved the Tv in the rec room, for a sci fi night. A couple of the latest movies are lined up, but he has a few of the classics handy as well. "I still can't believe I found a copy of ice pirates last year back home." He says

Cypher has posed:
Doug is sitting on a chair, except his legs are over the back of the chair and he's looking at Sam upside down. He noodles with his phone a bit. This is actually very important data collection he's been running about the Sentinels... in between checking Facebook. "I'm still gonna cast my vote for "Hell."" That's a German film about the world being turned into a blasted desert wasteland by a super solar flare.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel has been hard at work for most of the day, pushing herself through training with renewed intensity. There was time for a shower, then she changed into joggers and a tank top before hitting the kitchen for...well, anything, really. The wealth of food options here is still one of her favorite things.

When she walks into the rec room, she has a can of pringles and a bag of beef jerky under one arm and a bottle of Coke in the other, hair still damp from the showers. She pauses at the movie discussion, quirking a brow. "Voting //for// hell," she echoes Doug, clearly missing the context. "Well, that's a first for me."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "It is the name of a movie, just be glad he aint suggestion Hell comes to Frogtown." He will smile and says "Ok, well do we want to start with an old or new movie? He grins over to Rachel "What type of chips, did ya bring and are you sharing?"

Shadowcat has posed:
A head sticks down through the ceiling, topped with brown hair that is half in a ponytail and half left to be tugged down around her face by gravity. "Oh hey, people are up," Kitty Pryde says before ducking back upstairs for a moment. After a few seconds delay, she sinks down through the ceiling, feet first. She has a familiar purple dragon on her shoulder, who she probably delayed to go grab.

The two alight on the floor and Kitty walks over to the couches. She flashes a grin at Doug. "Not carrying that trophy with you? I would be if I beat Captain America in a race," she tells him. Kitty looks over to Rachel, smiling. "Hey Rachel. How'd you like the cookout?" she asks.

Cypher has posed:
"I don't rest on my laurels." Doug says, before he sets his phone aside. He looks between Sam and Rachel, and then says, "I just like movies in other languages. Surprise." He curls socked toes, and then says "...Flight of the Navigator?"

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel arches a suspicious brow at Sam when he asks about her junk food stash, hugging the can of pringles a little bit closer. "BBQ," she answers, popping the top off with a thumb and sliding out one chip to crunch decisively. She chews, considering, then twists a faint smile as she pulls out a stack of a half-dozen chips to offer them over to Doug. Apparently that's all her largesse though, since she puts the lid back on afterwards.

She picks out a chair a little away from the others, perching on the arm only for now. "It was very celebratory," she answers Kitty, opening her coke to take a sip. "Good for morale." The unsaid follow up, of course is: But not much else.

Wolverine has posed:
It had been one of those days. When Logan returned to the mansion, the first thing he did was toss his shirt into the recycling bin. One of the students was able to make new clothes from old ones, and the black one he had dropped in had blood stains, holes, from slashes, not gunshots. His jacket on the other hand had faired better. It had some damage, but damage to that just seemed to give it more character.

Still shirtless, he slung his coat over his shoulders, heading upstairs. Thankfully there weren't too many students around. He made his way through the corridors, up to his room, where he was able to fetch a fresh shirt, this one dark forest green, which he slung over his frame. The jacket was left. Next, he had to make his way back down, passing the kitchen, where he fetched a bottle of beer, taking a swig of the Molson's almost immediately, before he heard some noise coming from the rec room.

Popping his head through the archway, he surveyed the situation. His gaze fell upon each of them, holding for a moment. And then he took another swig of his beer.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the groups, and says "Well, I think we can start with this one." He puts in the puppet master movie (Aliens not puppets). Logan, Kitty care to join us?" He will walk to the mini bar grabbing himself a cola, and some of the snack pack of different types of chips. He tosses Rachel a Doritos that she has not had before.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty seems to pick up on Rachel's unspoken thought. "Morale was part of the reason," Kitty says, nodding. "Also, with who and what they are in charge of... it's not a bad idea to give them a reminder of what is on the line for some people. I mean, I think if there are people I'll put trust in outside of the school, they are high on my list. But... it never hurts to have a connection with someone whose decisions might end up affecting your well-being, right?" she says.

Kitty moves over to take a seat on a couch, finally noticing Logan as she does. "Logan. Speaking of cookouts, missed you at it. I thought you might have enjoyed racing motorcycles with your old war buddy. Did you hear that Doug won?" Kitty says. "I keep telling you that your power is /so/ useful, Doug," she tells him.

Cypher has posed:
Doug sighs, and then says, "It was a fluke. He skidded out. And I was neck and neck with Bobby all the way to the finish line. I'm not going to let it go to my head." He swings around, so he's draped over the arms of the chair, and then says, "...It did feel pretty great, though."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Fair enough," Rachel smiles faintly to Kitty, dipping her chin. "Still. Did they stick around and talk to you guys after? Strategy? Plans?" She may have softened on her stance, but it's still all to a purpose. Now that she's settled in, she pushes the top off the pringles again, going back to her snacking. A well-balanced meal of pringles, beef jerky, and coke. Dinner of champions!

Wolverine has posed:
Logan probably would have bailed if not for Sam and Kitty encouraging him. Hanging out with a bunch of teenagers and young adults wasn't his usual idea of a good time. But as adult supervision went, he was about as easy going as one was to find, so him being there was better than someone like Storm or Cyclops. He was doing them a service.

"Thanks hayseed," he said as he wandered in and deliberately took a seat in a nice comfy chair. A couch was social. Logan liked being alone. He liked the separation. "Sorry 'bout that Kitty. Congrats Doug. She's right too." When Lockheed flew up and took a seat on the armrest next to Logan's free hand, he began petting the little dragon's back scales, even getting him behind the ears the way he likes. No words were spoken. Logan just had a way around animals, or in Lockheed's case, animalistic beings.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde watches Lockheed fly over to Logan, not surprised by it as the dragon has known Logan only a little less time than Kitty has. Kitty looks to Rachel to say, "They didn't. I had originally pitched the idea of a Danger Room joint training session. But I realized, the cookout was going to be enough on its own, that it might be better to try that another day," she says.

Kitty looks back to Doug to grin. "Hey, you didn't wipe out where he did. You moved through traffic almost like you could tell what they were going to do. That's /useful/. Do you know how many car chases members of the team have been in over the years?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie has set down and not much into the movie he has fallen asleep. Seems the young ,man must have had a busy day, and it has caught up to him.

Cypher has posed:
Doug gets up from the chair, and then sighs. He fetches up a blanket from where it'd been tossed, and shakes it out, before he drapes it over Sam. "That's always how it's been with him. He keeps thinking of things he has to do, and he keeps going, until he doesn't even have fumes left to run on."

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel grimaces, popping another pringle. "The picnic is nice, the words are nice. When they stand between us and Sentinels, then I'll buy in." She takes a breath, letting it out slowly with a roll of her eyes. "But one step at a time. I guess." Crunch.

When Sam passes out, she looks over with a rueful smile, shaking her head. "Hey, I've slept worse places than these couches. Besides, nice to see someone feeling safe enough for it, in the middle of everything."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan's eyes raised briefly at the mention of the danger room. He was still getting used to it being somewhat public knowledge, as he had always understood there to be a certain disconnect. Students weren't supposed to know it existed. But instead of raising the issue, he just continued to stroke Lockheed behind the ears and drink his beer.

Sam falling asleep on the couch didn't go unnoticed either. Logan didn't miss much, even if he might not have been the most talkative of fellows. He gives Doug a simple nod of approval as he draped the blanket over Sam. That was nice of him.

Logan remained silent for a few more moments, before adding, "Pity the man who comes to this school lookin' fer trouble." Yes, he stole that from Charles, but Logan didn't think he'd mind.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty nods in agreement with what Logan said. She tells Rachel, "Well, Janet was kidnapped by Sentinels and cloned. And I've fought side-by-side with her and Spiderwoman against the clone when it attacked, and after it took down Cap. We have stood together," she says. "And I hope you might be willing to talk with them about the direction that Sentinel evolution took in your time. I've mentioned it, but I don't have the kind of details to impress on others that you do. If you would be willing. If it would be too hard, you don't have to," Kitty says.

Cypher has posed:
After Doug puts the blanket over Sam, he says, "I'm still trying to gather information on them, but it's slow going." He glances up, and then says, "...If you guys are holding a war council, maybe I should excuse myself for now." He isn't an X-Man, after all.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"No," Rachel says quickly. "I mean, no, it's not too hard, and it's not okay to not talk about it even if it was," she clarifies. "I'll definitely talk to them. If we're going to count them as allies and we want them to act like it, then they need to understand what's really at stake."

Looking to Logan, she grimaces. "Speaking as the survivor of the people who came to the school looking for trouble, I promise, they don't deserve any pity." She ruffles a hand through still-damp hair, then peels open the bag of beef jerky. "Whatever it takes," she says as she looks back up to Kitty. "I'm in."

Wolverine has posed:
"Yer alright," Logan said to Doug. He had proven his worth time and again. Even Logan knew that. And in for a dime, in for a dollar. He nodded to Rachel. Yep, a man of so many words.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde smiles over to Doug. "Well, keep at it. I trust you to come up with things that none of us were able to," She tells him. Kitty rises from the couch and nods to Rachel. "We'll set something up with them then. I think it's important they have your perspective in mind."

Kitty crosses the room, as Lockheed flaps into the air to land back on his favorite resting perch, her shoulder. "Logan, I was thinking I might see if Doug wants to run through that training program I made, of what you put me through in Japan." She grins to him. He saw her doing that training. She upped the difficulty even higher than what it really was. But then Kitty is in a lot better shape than was the girl Logan pushed off a cliff into the freezing river in the middle of winter.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan actually smiled at what Kitty suggested putting Doug through. That kind of training wasn't for the faint of heart, "simulation though," he said aloud, "doesn't work. Nice idea, but if you can turn it off anytime you want, makes it really easy to quit. You want to train, you have to commit." Yeah, he was giving Doug such a pep talk there. "And if you go through it, you'll come through a better person," or die trying he might have added, but he didn't want to scare the kid.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel finally slides into the chair from the arm where she's been perched, half-watching the movie as she munches on her junk food binge. "Or at least a more tired and sweaty person," she tacks on with a smirk. "But hey, showers. Hot water. There are worse things in the world."
