Where in the world is Agent Cody Garrett
Date of Scene: 17 June 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: The Punisher follows up surveillance that shows a pair of mutants entering the apartment of one of his contacts, deciding to hunt down the mutants for information.
Cast of Characters: Nemean, Punisher

Nemean has posed:
The apartment where FBI Special Agent Cody Garrett stays has been quiet for a few days. Anyone who had the place under observation would have noticed that the doorman is not the normal one, some new guy. As for Cody's apartment itself, it's been quiet. Too quiet.

Until last night. Two mutants broke in through the window, rummaged around, and then left in a hurry. Something has obviously gone down.

Punisher has posed:
"This has kidnapping written all over it. Probably the mutants." Punisher muses to Microchip from the back of the Battle Van as the duo drive up to the beginning of the block and park. Soon, The Punisher is putting his infiltration gear web together in the back of the Van. "I'm going to check it first, see what we're dealing with. I'll call you if we're all clear." Punisher orders as he finishes putting his vest on.

"I can take care of myself in a fight Frank, but I appreciate the concern." Microchip responds with not a small amount of amusement from the drivers seat, the onboard computer launching the surveillance drone automatically and heading for the waypoint over the apartment in particular. "Good luck, Frank." Microchip offers as Punisher leaves out the back.

Checking for a clear route without eyes over to the complex, Punisher makes his way over silently. Quickly. Efficiently.

His goal is to get the doorman in a quiet place... and put him in a chokehold with his hand over his mouth.

Once sightlines for the doorman are clear and he has an opportunity to grab him, The Punisher silently takes him into a corner. "Answer my questions, and you won't get hurt. Scream or call for help, and I put you out right here. Nod if you understand." The Punisher whispers into the mans ear from behind.

Nemean has posed:
The doorman lets out a muffled yelp as he gets grabbed, but he nods silently at the words Frank gives him. He doesn't appear to have any weapons or anything on him. The guy is in his mid 40s. If Frank pulls his wallet and gets his ID for Microchip, he'll find that he lives in the Bronx and has a wife and two kids and with enough digging will find out that he has been unemployed for about six months until a few days ago.

Punisher has posed:
He does indeed pull the ID, and whispers the name into his transceiver for Microchip to dig into. "There was another doorman here a few days ago. Do you know what happened to him?" The Punisher releases the mans mouth, letting him speak... but he's more than prepared to choke him out an stuff him in a closet if he gets uppity.

Nemean has posed:
"N-no. They just told me he didn't show up anymore." He replies, "I got a call from a temp comany to come here and just open the door for folks." He replies, "I swear I just got a phone call to come over here!" He seems terrified that The Punisher is going to kill him because he watches some less reputable news sites and they say he's a murderous psycho who helped break Harley Quinn out of Arkham. Any research Microchip looks up will probably prove that he's telling the truth. Castle may want to get access to Apartment 802 since that was Garrett's apartment.

Punisher has posed:
"Then you have nothing to worry about. You'll be awake in thirty minutes, and I'll be out of your life. Goodnight." Punisher chokes the man out, having him in a closet nearby, before he starts to head up to the apartment itself. He brought his lockpicking set, so it should be easy enough to get inside...

Nemean has posed:
The guy goes out like a light. Frank can take the elevator or the stairs, but either way on the 8th floor he'll find apartment 802 appears to have recently had the door replaced. This one is too new compared to all the others in the hallway.

Punisher has posed:
He takes a picture with his smartphone of the door and sends it to Microchip, "New Door. Someone smashed it open recently." Punisher notes without missing a beat. Soon, he's got the lockpicks out and he's working it open.

Nemean has posed:
The lock doesn't appear to be anything too special, but after Frank gets the lock opened, and when he opens the door, the apartment has very clearly been ransacked. They may have replaced the door but they didn't bother to clean the apartment up.

Punisher has posed:
"Sloppy assholes." Punisher notes over the transceiver. "It amuses me you think most criminals are tidy, Frank." Microchip replies.

Soon, The Punisher is checking the scene. Especially computers, cameras, anything that records.

Nemean has posed:
Inside the apartment, Frank will find there is an endtable near the door that has been smashed. He'll find a sawed off shotgun with duct tape on it in the wreckage. Looks like it was taped under the table.

The couch looks like it was flipped over but then somebody put it back upright. The TV is still laying on it's side though. Cody's cell phone is under the couch. It has multiple missed text messages and calls from a contact called Alopex as well as Cody's work and a few other friends.

The kitchen looks like it hasn't been touched in a few days, and there's a hallway that leads to the back bedroom and bathroom.

Punisher has posed:
With his gloves on, Punisher takes the phone and stashes it. Then, he pulls his rubber round Glock 17 and starts to head into the rest of the rooms, methodically searching for anything that pops out as potential clues.

Nemean has posed:
The bathroom is clear, but the bedroom has obviously had visitors. The safe in the closet is open, there are several guns in there, still sitting there untouched, but something was removed.

If Microchip checks the building's security, he'll find all the camera feeds were cut around 2am several days prior and were out for about an hour before all coming back online simultaniously.

Punisher has posed:
The guns are taken without hesitation and put into his utility pouch for adding to his armory. Then, he starts to work on trying to identify the visitors by the current evidence. People tend to leave traces, and the mutants under the Foot aren't subtle at all.

Meanwhile, back at the Battle Van, "Frank, security around here is fairly easy to get through. I'm just about done out here." Punisher grunts over the transceiver in simple acknowledgement.

Nemean has posed:
The mutants that came in did so from the window on the balcony. There are a few traces of fur, white and red mostly. Not a lot of it. But it's clear one of them put the couch upright after it had been knocked over. Frank may not have had contact with these particular Mutants, but considering they appear to have entered stealthfully and then also left in a hurry, they may not have been here with the Foot.

Punisher has posed:
Or he hasn't met all their mutant minions. Either way, it's information filed away.

With the apartment checked, Punisher heads for the window, and launches a grapnel line at the rooftop when the alleyway is clear of eyes. He makes a smooth landing, and starts to head back to the Battle Van just as stealthily as he came in.

Opening the back stepping in, Punisher looks to Microchip on the computer station in the back, "Found a smartphone for you. No other computers inside. What do you have?" Punisher asks, starting to take off the gear into one of the crates.

Nemean has posed:
Microchip considers for a moment before he looks back to Frank, "Well, the security cameras in the apartment were down for about an hour. Let me see the phone." He looks over it for a second, plugging it in to try to break into it. He has some government grade encryption breaking tools, so it shouldn't take long, "But using that time they were down for a reference point, I went into other cameras nearby and found this."

He pulls up a feed on a screen from an ATM across the street. It clearly shows several men clad in all black, and one larger man in armor with spikes on it. The larger man throws a shuriken that kills the doorman, and two of the black clad ninjas drag the body away. The rest then enter the building.

Microchip fast forwards to about a half hour later when one ninja rapidly exits the building holding a black briefcase, shortly before the others exit with Agent Garrett, the Shredder himself leading the group. It's obvious that Garrett is held captive and is not going willingly.

"Seems he had something they wanted, and they decided to take it. I don't know why they took him as well instead of just killing him, though. That's not usually their MO. Maybe trying to get information from him on you?"

Punisher has posed:
"I can't see it. We've been very careful about association with him and we've been using cover protocols for him on top of that. No, this is something else." Punisher eyes the footage, before he rewinds to the briefcase. "He didn't come in with that. Garrett had that inside. I'll bet you he came in looking for it."

Punisher looks to Microchip, "What about the mutants? Nothing on them anywhere? We have some trace evidence to give to a CSI contact. Maybe they can give us an answer."

Nemean has posed:
"They were very careful to avoid cameras, for the most part, and came in through the same way you left." Microchip replies, "They were definitely trained, though I don't know if they're with the Turtles or the Foot or maybe some kind of independent group. Either way they were interested enough in Garrett's lack of contact to go in, and they left in a hurry. I did find this.."

He taps a few keys to bring up another piece of footage. The mutants, one an arctic fox and the other some kind of canine. They seem to be convercing about something before they split up.

He switches it to another angle to show that they were being followed by a pair of Foot ninjas, "Seems that the Foot were watching the place and went after them. So if we can get in contact with them, they might know something about the Foot or have found some info that we missed. They were in there before you so they could have taken some evidence."

Punisher has posed:
"They wouldn't be stealthy about it if they were allies." Punisher agrees, "it's a good chance these are enemies we can find." Punisher moves to sit down in the chair next to the station, "What about the phone?"

Nemean has posed:
"It looks like we're in." He says, as he pulls up the phone, going through the missed calls and texts first. Several from co-workers at the FBI, a few friends that he appears to have missed a meeting with, and then a whole bunch from the Alopex contact. Seems they were worried because he said he always answers that phone number. Emails are piling up, seems he's been totally out of contact for several days now with no one being able to reach him on any method.

Going through the contacts, there's the standard ones you'd expect like family, but also ones labeled Ghost Spider and Huntress. Seems that Frank wasn't the only vigilante that the agent was working with.

Punisher has posed:
"I've heard about Huntress, but who the fuck is Ghost Spider?" Punisher grumbles, before he puts the phone away. "The mutants have evidence we need probably. Let's shift this to priority while not being obvious about it. I don't want the Foot to know about this search. They'll probably suspect a connection to Garrett if we don't play this right, with the tracker in place." Punisher is referring to the tracker Karai put on their Battle Van. Frank made the call to not remove it to see what the Foot do with that intel.

"Time to use more discreet vehicles for this one, I think."

Nemean has posed:
"I'll make sure to clean the giant skull logo off of your other car, then." Microchip makes an attempt at a joke, as he moves from the computer up to the driver's seat, "I assume you want me to drop you off a couple of blocks from the garage?"

Frank can continue to go through the phone but there's not a lot more information in there. He can probably pull some files from the emails and such though.

Punisher has posed:
"Nah. Let's check out the rest of the area and see if we can find any other footage of where they went first. Then we can go back." Punisher muses out loud, blatantly ignoring the joke. Frank hasn't made a serious joke outside of personality shifts for disguises in years... and there's no indication he'll start now. "We can head back after."
