Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel may have returned to the school, but she's been keeping her space from people in general. She's been seen here or there, spent time in the gardens and the danger room. But she avoids the public areas most of the time, seeking out instead more quiet places.

This evening, that means she's taken the pizza that was for dinner up to the roof where she can eat it in relative peace, watching the sun set, the moon rise, and the stars come out to play.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie actually did not come up here looking for Rachel. They had spent some time talking up here and being a flyer it is one of the places many of them probably come to think. He walks out from the roof access and looks around seeeing Rachel he will pause "Um sorry did not mean to intrude."

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel looks over at the sound of an approach, waving off the apology. "Not much to intrude on up here. 'Sides, it's a public roof, right?" she smiles faintly. "Plenty of space." She gestures around herself at the veritable sea of space, then takes the last bite of pizza, leaving just the crust in her hand. In threadbare joggers and a tank top, she seems to be as much at east as she ever is. And yet there's still a certain tension in her shoulders, the way she looks out over the horizon. Like she's on watch.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and hmms he walks over and get close enough to talk, as he leans against a chimney or some such roof ornament "So, you doing ok? I mean.." He sighs a bit and says "You know I have ben worried." He does not say if was her, them or what. "Jay got a gig for his band in the bar back home."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Yeah? Good for him." Rachel takes a bite of the crust, chewing pensively with her eyes on the horizon. "I'm okay. As okay as I've ever been, I guess," she grimaces, lifting one shoulder in an awkward shrug. "The Sentinel thing has me on edge. I was too young to know a lot of the details when it started in my world. So things starting here...All I remember is what happened after, and I feel like I should be able to help more than just fighting them, but I can't, so..." She lets out a breath, taking another bite of the crust. "So, I'm mad at myself for something I can't do anything about. Fun times."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit to this and will walk over putting a hand on her shoulder, "Well Ah know it has to be scary hon, Ah still think us having heroes around that you have never heard of in your time is a good sign. " He rubs her shoulder gently, and says "And you know I will do everything Ah can to make sure the world is headed for a brighter future.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Admittedly, if we'd had a Thor kicking Sentinel ass, I do feel like that would have helped," Rachel chuckles, finishing off the pizza crust and wiping her hand off on her pants. "Some things don't change, though. They show up, they start the fight. And if do anything other than lie down and die, then it's our fault for whatever comes out of it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well, Ah think we can look out and see that there are a lot of people who are not going to sit back and do nothing. Ah know the one future Ah saw was different than yours but it was another we can't let happen. We are the ones who fight for the best for peace, and prosperity. And you know everyone here is going to help with that fight right?"

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Oh, I know. That's..." Rachel ruffles a hand through her hair, pulling her bangs forward to shadow her features. "That's what I worry about more than anything else, Sam. All of us fighting means that all of us are in danger. We could all die. And I've seen enough of my friends and family dying for two lifetimes. I don't want to see that again." She shrugs, shaking her head. "It is what it is. We'll do what we can, we'll figure it out. I know."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods and says "Well, trust me, Ah know it is not the same thing but Ah see the new faces coming in and Ah worry do we have the right to bring them into our life, but then Ah think where would they be if not. Cody's own dad was trying to hunt him down for pete's sake. " he sighs and it is obvious how much family turning against one another bothers him. "You know Ah know somehow some of us get to come back, but not all of us, not even most of us, but when our time comes our final time, what more can we ask for than to look back and know we were loved, and we tried to do the right thing?"

Marvel Girl has posed:
"That it worked?" Rachel stands up, pacing along the perimeter of the roof. "That everything we gave up earned something for the people who were left behind. What's it all for if it doesn't //work//?" She shoves her hands into her pockets, shoulders hunching just a bit. "It's not enough to go out in a blaze of glory if you lose while you're doing it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ah aint saying going out in a blaze of glory, Ah am saying keep trying to that last breath, and in doing so make sure we are doing all we can. Not only in our own actions but inspiring those around us, showing them there is a reason to fight for the better day.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"You can fight for inspiration if you want, Sam," Rachel smiles faintly, rueful. "I'll be fighting for survival. Probably going to get a little bit dirtier on my end, but whatever it takes." She scuffs her feet along the rooftop, looking back up toward the sky and the stars that have started peeking out. "It's cool. We'll manage. All we can do it fight, probably no sense in getting worked up about it before it happens. What about you? Anything else interesting going on?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head and says "Ah will be beside you the whole way. As for new things, got Dazzler set up to play at the club some, and dealing with the new students. Think Ah may have helped Mila out some with her comfort level, gotta take her flying sometime but showing her there are some good things about being here.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"That's the girl from the mall incident?" Rachel asks, looking back with a quirk of her brow. "Glad she's getting some guidance here. No one's giving her crap about the whole mall thing, are they?" She doesn't seem quite sure what answer she's looking for on that one. She can understand the position that sort of damage may have put them in. But she's also not much for letting people make this place less than pleasant.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head and says "Na, and if she gets any grief it will be more cause of the odd effect her power is having for her. She has sound powers, and is broadcasting her inner monologue externally. So far just been some what embaressing for her, but a bit worried when we get a new kid who is all worked up about his or her appearance, and she lets something otu she would normally not say.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Yeeeaaah, I know how that one goes," Rachel says ruefully, the faintest smile tugging at one corner of her lips. "She talked to Nate yet? He might be able to give her a few pointers on the inside voice from the psychic point of view. Might help." She shrugs, letting out a huff of breath. "At least she's in a place where people can help her rather than getting hurt. It's progress."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Ah don't think so but I am not sure, Ah do know she got a good healthy lunch under her belt the other day, we even had Wade, and if you can deal with him, Ah think if you can make it through one of those you can make it through most things

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Well that's the truth." Rachel takes a deep breath, stepping away from the edge of the roof. "I should probably get to bed. More training to go in the morning, more trying to figure all of this out. I've been told getting enough sleep is healthy too," she smirks.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods and will walk over to her, and offer her a hug. He does not force it and he may seem a bit awkward but he is tring to continue giving her her space.

Marvel Girl has posed:
Rachel slips to the side of the hug, one-armed, but at least she has the grace to keep it from getting any more awkward than that. "You should get some sleep too," she suggests as she steps away, smile faint. "Before you make a habit out of falling asleep on couches. Thanks, Sam," she adds as she backs toward the exit. "Always good to see a ray of sunshine around."
