Synopsis: Frank and Alopex meet for the first time. Frank gets some information about Foot Clan safehouses, and Alopex gets another contact. This occurs a few hours before Hunting the Hunter (scene 7946)
Cast of Characters: Alopex, Punisher

Alopex has posed:
So far: Just an uneventful morning. Fully aware that Agent Garrett is still missing, Alopex has been wandering between Foot Clan safehouses that she had memory of. Some of them were abandoned, some were guarded with no sign of Cody, and at least one felt like a trap Alopex wasn't going to move in on alone. By now, she was sure Shredder probably had him at the HQ, and that wasn't somewhere she was going to go, either. As a result...

She's on the surface in Brooklyn, just trying to figure out where to find some lunch. At the moment she's crouched down on the second floor portion of a fire escape on an apartment building, skimming over something on her phone. "Hrm.. lets try something new today.."

Punisher has posed:
New York is a nerve center of activity of all kinds. It's a place where Humans, Mutants, Metahumans, Inhumans, Aliens, and sentient robots gather.

It's the city that The Punisher does most of his work out of... and the last while has been no different.

With the Foot clan ramping up their efforts to consolidate various organizations under their umbrella, he's been actively fighting a war against their operations. Recon, assassination, gunfights, infiltration. He doesn't have nearly as much intel on their operations as he'd like, and now Cody has gone missing.

It was time to redouble his efforts.

Breaking into Cody's apartment (taking his guns in the process) Alopex's phone number was found, and Microchip ran a trace on it an hour ago. A discreet civilian vehicle had been taken for this one, so the Foot didn't realize he was trying to track 'Alopex' down. The Punisher had taken a mixed set of equipment for this one, not sure what to expect from Alopex yet...

Sneaking his way around a corner and peeking up, Alopex is easy spotted... and The Punisher moves back around to the opposite end of the building, firing up his grapnel gun to the rooftop.

Once he's scaled up to the rooftop of the building Alopex is on the fire escape from, his Glock 17 with rubber rounds is taken, a silencer screwed on, and he heads for the top of the fire escape, silently working his way down from there.

By the time Alopex is near the end of the menu, Punisher has a clear line of sight on Alopex from above with his Glock 17.

"We need to talk." The Punisher grates out. He's wearing his traditional white skull vest and black trenchcoat... making him very easy to identify if you bother to pay attention to the news.

Alopex has posed:
It wasn't the easiest thing in the world to catch Alopex off guard, but Frank Castle was no ordinary man. He had approached with a plan and had suceeded. When she's addressed, and in such a tone, it's clear she heard him just by how still she went. Even scrolling through her phone had stopped. Instead, the phone's lock button is simply pressed without even another movement.

For her, such an order wouldn't be given without something to back it up. While she didn't know who this man was just by his voice, she could tell making a sudden move was not in her best interest. "What about?" She wasn't going to just assume this was about Cody. She was half sure it was, but she'd rather be certain. For all she knew this could be one of Shredder's assassins, a test from Splinter, or something else entirely.

Punisher has posed:
"I went by someones apartment a few hours ago, found some evidence showing you were there. Ring a bell?" Punisher continues, unmoving.

Alopex has posed:
Alright. So this -is- about Cody. Could be good, could be bad. "It does, actually. He's a friend of mine, and I've been out looking for him most of the morning," she points out. If she's believed remained to be seen. "I was in there a day or two ago. Place is ransacked. None of his guns were taken, but there was a Foot Clan tonfa there, so I'm pretty sure I know who took him." There, a piece of info for this man. Maybe that'd get her enough trust to move a little bit.

Punisher has posed:
It doesn't get him to trust her. Not at all. Not after the way the Turtles cut him off and the Foot are hunting him. He doesn't have many he's willing to go out on that limb for lately.

"Let's say, hypothetically, I'm willing to not consider you a Foot asshole who's just waiting to try and off me. What makes you think it was a Foot tonfa?" Punisher continues.

Alopex has posed:
Hmm. No trust there. Has to be a vigilante around town, which one though? Considering there were a few drawn into the ordeal Shredder had set up, and only one she hadn't met yet... and one she knew Cody worked with at least once before, there was at least one name in mind. It didn't make her any less nervous considering how Leonardo wasn't his biggest fan.

Back to the matter at hand. She was NOT going to admit she was with the Foot at one point, that would be pretty suicidal at this moment. Instead... "I'm at war with them. They want to bring this whole city under heel and I won't stand for it. They took my home and my family from me. People who had nothing to do with what's happening here, living hundreds of miles away in Alaska. He killed them. I know a Foot Clan weapon when I see one because I've had them used on me. I know their methods, I know their equipment, and I was working with Cody to try and put a stop to them, even when his superiors at the FBI have already been paid off."

Punisher has posed:
"Similar boats then... but I'm pretty sure you have a problem with killing in your 'war', right?" Punisher continues, "You with those ninja Turtles?"

Alopex has posed:
This is something she disagrees with the brothers on. "I kill as necessary. I do it when I have to, and I will not hold it against someone if they are on the same side." It -has- to be the Punisher, at this point. "I've only recently come into contact with them. If you are who I believe, I know they do not agree with your tactics. However, to be blunt, if you managed to put a bullet in Shredder's head before I put my sword in it, I wouldn't mind."

Punisher has posed:
"Call me The Punisher. I'm waging war against the Foot clan with everything at my disposal. I've been goin' after their allies for the last few weeks after my warehouse attack provoked them." Punisher starts to walk down the fire escape. Slowly. Coming onto the same level as Alopex. He isn't near enough to try to disarm him though... he's being intentionally careful about that.

"Who is Shredder, and why should I care if he dies?" Punisher asks.

Alopex has posed:
With him on the move, Alopex ventures to at least turn her head, and then turn to face Frank if he doesn't try to shoot her right away. "Well, even if they do not agree, an enemy of my enemy is a friend. As for the Shredder? .. If you're fighting the Foot Clan I'm surprised you don't know. He's their leader. His real name is Oroku Saki, and I'm -very- sure he has Agent Garrett right now."

Punisher has posed:
The pistol aimed at her is an obvious Glock 17 Gen 4, with a custom sight, laser sight, extended magazine, and a silencer... it's obvious the Punisher isn't fucking around on this one. He came with serious gear, and she can see the gear web under the trenchcoat. He's treating this as a hostile mission.

"They're very well financed and hidden, and I only heard about these Foot assholes a few weeks back. I meant to ask about em, but your Turtle friends cut me off, so I've been on my own with intel gathering. Far as I'm concerned, the Turtle assholes are part of the problem, but they're no worse than the Bat in that regard."

He squints just slightly at her, "I came here lookin' for intel to find Garrett, and maybe some intel on Foot operations for the war. Are you more interested in working together than those assholes are?" He must be referring to the Turtles in that last bit.

Alopex has posed:
Serious man. Serious gun. Serious gear. She can see all of that the moment she has a good look at him. She can't blame Leonardo for his feelings, but as far as Alopex is concerned, you use every weapon you can lay hands on. This includes people with lots of guns, just the same. "Extremely well, actually. I can provide a few safe house locations to you that I've found while I've been at this. Side note: None of them are where Cody is, unfortunately. I didn't go in, ah, guns blazing because putting them on higher alert makes things a little more difficult for myself. I doubt you'd have the same problem." .... "I'm going to reach for a note, nothing more. It's just a list of the places I wanted to check for Agent Garrett."

Punisher has posed:
"Write a copy and give it to me." Punisher pulls out a notepad and pen, and tosses it to Alopex with his free hand. "Along with all the addresses I should check out. Prioritize ones I can knock down without worrying about collateral damage to civilians or other buildings."

Say what you will about Punisher, he does seem to be interested in keeping innocents out of his war.

Alopex has posed:
The pad is caught with little issue. Smart man, not letting her reach, but she had these memorized from her time Inside. Simple enough to start jotting them down. She does notice the tail end of what he said, at least. While he may put people in the ground, at least it is just the ones that deserve it. Unlike Leonardo, Alopex can appreciate that.

While she's making the list, about 6 or 7 places long, the only visible weaponry she has is spotted in the form of a sword hilt at her back. It's a blade she stole to keep out of the Foot Clan's hands, and there was a news story on it not too long ago.

After another moment, the notepad and pen are offered back. The top three safe houses say 'burn to the ground' beside them, hinting at just how fond she is of the clan. (not at all.)

Punisher has posed:
He points down to the ground next to Alopex. "On the ground, then back away down to the next floor." Punisher orders.

Alopex has posed:
For some reason, the fox can't help but smirk a little, "As you say," she muses before retreating to the letter of Frank's instruction.

Punisher has posed:
Once she's suitably out of reach, Punisher moves over to grab it, never taking his eyes off Alopex. He brings it up into eyesight to read it and watch her at the same time.

About twenty seconds later, he nods. "If these all check out, you'll have been a hell of a lot more helpful than those assholes were. The only place I know about for sure is the Warehouse HQ, and I don't have the intel to breach in there without making a serious mess yet. I don't like that. Not at all."

The sheet is taken and put into a utility pouch. A disposable cell phone is taken out of the same pouch, and tossed to Alopex. "If you're interested in helping me with the Foot, the only contact in there will reach me. I can use help for this, and for finding Garrett."

Alopex has posed:
Of course, Alopex is keeping a close eye on Punisher as well. It's tense, but not as much as when she was first held at gunpoint. "They'll check out. Out of the dozen or so I checked on, those are the ones that still had Foot members roaming about. The rest are abandoned, and I mean they -cleaned house- and left. I imagine they shift from time to time so they aren't discovered. Too bad for them, I keep tabs."

As for the cell phone offered, she catches that simply enough. She's going to have a lot of these things eventually. Better make sure the contacts inside are correct. . . that can wait until this meeting is done. "I'll let you know if I find Cody, also. If I had to bet, I'd wager he's at that damn HQ, but infiltrating that place is difficult, as you probably discovered already."

Punisher has posed:
"Infiltration is easy. Gettin' in without fuckin' over the innocents? I don't have the intel for that yet, and electronic surveillance failed. If I'm gonna get in there, it'll have to be after I've done a lot more homework about their tactics, their equipment." Punisher explains to Alopex. Then, he starts to back off, back up the fire escape. He's still aiming for her... but he's obviously exfiltrating from the situation.

"We'll talk again soon." Punisher declares, before he's out of sight, over the rooftop again.

Alopex has posed:
"Well be careful about it. They keep those safe houses pretty well secured, armed, and monitored. Don't give away your tactics," she offers as he retreats. Once he's gone? There's a massive sigh and she settles down to check his phone, fix his contact (just making sure the name is right) and then promptly removes the battery from it. She'll put it in when needed. "Sloppy, damnit.." she mutters.
