Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Spike, Buffy Summers, Willow Rosenberg

Spike has posed:
There's the smell of fresh paint and drying wallpaper paste as Spike's busy in his sub basement, wires are connected up as Spike's settling in. For once, the TV's not on, but Spike's made it his home. There's dividing walls. and...it's more like a home than the crypt ever was. Still, Spike sends a text to Buffy letting her know where he is....he'd got things ordered when on patrol, smart vampire. He grabs the wallpaper paste brush and getins slathering it on the walls, he picked a fairly inviting and nice color. Not black or moody, and he's slathering it on the wall. He's already got the bedroom painted and it's drying, slowly.....Spike isn't going to stand in there and get high thank you very much....he's instead slathering wallpaper paste over the living room part of it. The clock's a little before sunset, as Spike's actually....genuinely....enjoying this. It's oddly relaxing. Though he's got bits of wallpaper pasted to his duster, and paint's got on his boots.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Siiiigh...How on earth did she ever get talked into this nonsense? Honestly, Buffy would like to have nothing to do with Spike, but he WAS pretty useful as an extra body with the slaying, and that helped her to spend more time with studying. "Just dont get any ideas.." she mutters to herself as she comes to check out his new place. She raps on the door a few times, peering up at the building. "Hm, not bad. Guess you're moving up in the world, you crazy Vampire." she chuckles to herself, wondering what the inside looks like. He said he was gonna do some redecorating. Will there be unicorns? Or Passions posters? Or something weirder? One never knows with Spike..

Spike has posed:
Spike strides over and props the door open. There's a poster on the inside of the door leading to the basement, a poster showing the night skyline of Gotham. Still....he's slathering paste all over the wall and reaches up to get at the top of the wall, then starts applying wallpaper. He invitedd Buffy to come help out, and....stuff. She's got him a purpose after all. He helps her with slaying. She studies and does well. Problem solved. Maybe.

Spike though opens the fridge and takes out a pack of garlic bread, munching on one while he decorates....so at's paint, wallpaper paste....and hot fresh garlic bread all mingled together as a scent. Weirdness indeed. Spike though is used to weird. he's Spike after all.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers steps in and wrinkles her nose. "You know, I'll never get used to the smell of paint. No matter how you look at it, or I guess smell at it, it just smells awful." she smirks as she peers around, "Wow, this is definitely a step up from your last place though. Definitely cheerier. No creepy resting place of the dead, no ghosties. Buffy likes!" oh wait, did she sound too cheerful there? "I mean, not bad, not bad.." she wanders around a bit, peering at this and that. "So what, a single patrol together and now you're inspired to change your life? What's next, you're gonna join the police force?" ok that would be too ironic on so many levels.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"I just think it weird how everyone just kinda all showedback up at the same time," Willow says considering the walls of Spike's new place. "It's like there was a convergence of planets or something." Which there likely was. "Say, does anyone actually know you're living here, Spike? I mean, how'd you find this place anyway?"

As far as convenience went, it was wonderful, but Willow had a nagging suspicion that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't here by accident.

Spike has posed:
Spike shrugs and nods. "Thanks Buffy and hey Willow" he says with a wave to the witch. "Nah, I'm blending in, and I'm hoping to sneak around and keep my head down" Spike adds, then looks to Willow. "Buffy likes? Me Spike. You Buffy. Paint make slayer dumb?" he asks teasing her again with a grin, "Though I'm not much better really" he admits, shaking his head.

Spike looks to Willow again. "I followed somebody here and got stuck in the basement. That's how I found the sub basement and crashed there for a day. So I figured I'd move in. yeah. I know. I should have told you both but....I'm down here. I'm not across the hall am I?" Spike asks with a shrug and a nod. "You girls want to hel out?" he asks gesturing to the wallpaper and.....the paint's carried out of the sub basement as Spike returns minus paint...ut with more wallpaper, a nice, off cream, knotwork pattern wallpaper.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers turns around, glancing at Willow and smiling cheerfully. She had invited her to come here with her of course, although she hadn't really had time yet to have a little girl chat with her since she got back into town. "I know, it's kinda funny, isn't it. Maybe it's time for a cozy little reunion. I hear Oz is back in town too." but they can talk more about that later. She glances back at Spike and smirks. "Sounds like a good plan.." she arches a brow, "Wait, you got *stuck* here?" she stifles a giggle, "Seriously, you're just a trouble magnet, aren't you? I guess that's why you and Xander make such good room mates." although Xander would disagree of course. "Ugh, I guess I could help a bit, just because I have no classes today til later and I have nothing better to do than pain walls.." she makes a face. It's hard to tell if she's being serious or sarcastic.

Spike has posed:
Spike sighs. "I'm trying, alright? I'm trying. Okay. Okay. I've been watching those home makeover shows on cable. Look. I can only take so much Passions in a week. So I started watching QVC and those home makeover shows" he pouts and shakes his head. "Xander. Room mates? Oh no no no" Spike grimaces and sighs, looking unimpressed. He's seriously debating flicking paste at Buffy....though...but he doesn't want to get staked. Still he grins, a wicked, fanged grin.

"You know, you're not that bad. You're willing to help me. Five years ago you'd kill me on sight" Spike nods and smiles. "No no that one patrol was actualy interesting. I dusted several vamps and" he says handing over a report. "Here's what I got up to" he grins.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smirks. "Never said anything. Good for you, Spike! Place looks..Decent..At least you're moving up in the world.." she shrugs, "Well, I'm sure Xander feels the same way but hey, either one is better than hanging out with dead people." she glances at the report and laughs, "Seriously? You made a report? You really are crazy, aren't you? Why are you even doing this? Are you trying to impress me or are you seriously considering trying out the hero act? The only reason I haven't killed you by now is because you're.." she sniggers, "Neutered.."

Spike has posed:
"I am" Spike huffs. "Because I'm...." he says and groans. "Actually....starting to feel good about dusting vampires, Buffy. It's like....like.....I'm doing good. I'm killing vampires...I get to fight. I get to fight, right. I get to deal with vampires and I get to help my friends out" he nods and turns the TV on, flipping over to one of those home improvement shows.^r
"And remember" the host says. "Remember to always use wallpaper and drive nails through for your pictures" the host adds as Spike flips the channel. "See. I took things like that. Made a home. See. Buffy. I'm not all bad" he says...and smiles. "You know, you're not all bad. How did we go from I am gonna stake you, to I will help Spike with his new home?" Spike asks and steps toward Buffy, gently with his arms out for a hug.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smirks, "Ok, so let me get this. You e decided to turn over a new leaf and try being a good guy because it feels good..And you like beating stuff up." she rolls her eyes. "Oh please..That's so...." well, she's not sure what to think of that. on the one hand, it's great if that he's spending more time beating up bad guys rather than helping them but.."I guess you're going up in the world..At least I can't think of a good reason to kill you. But I can't help but think you only dust vamps so you can feel the satisfaction of beating up someone, anyone." she shrugs. When he offers her a hug however, she hesitates. He's not really all that bad when he's not trying to kill her but..She still doesn't fully trust him. Buffy's casual smile quickly fades, folding her arms. "Seriously, Spike? Just because you're not evil enough to be a threat anymore doesn't mean we're 'friends' and you get free hugs. Try saving the world a couple times first!"

Spike has posed:
Spike shrugs. "Oh I have to save the world a few times then you'll give me a free hug? That's asking a lot Buffy." he says and still has his smile. He's not that upset, though. "Look. I'll be honest. We went from enemies to somewhere approaching friends, you're trying to keep me at a distance because you're all vampire is bad....I get it, Buffy. I get it. I get you slay vampires. I know. You've been trained for this, and" he says settling on the couch. "I understand it. I watched you, you know. You want to know why I really turned over a new leaf?" he asks^r
Spike takes a breath. "Because of my chip, Buffy. I can't hurt humans. I drink pig's blood. I dust vampires because I'm seeing how evil and monstrous they are. I'm better than that. Than them" he adds then looks apolagetically to Buffy. "I get it Buffy, you got high standards, you want to keep me at arms' length because I'm 'th enemy" he says doing the air quote thing. "But you deliver my blood. You do care about me on some level, Buffy. You do like me Even if you won't admit it. You're just unsure what's going on. I'm in the same boat too. I agreed to patrol with you because it gives me a purpose. You've given me a reason to get off my couch at night, Buffy. So thank you" Spike nods and looks genuinely emotional.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles and shrugs, "Maybe that's asking a bit much but..Tell me something. If you found a way to remove that chip tomorrow, I'm pretty damn sure your first act would be to come and kill me for all the humiliation I put you through. Oh yeah, and because your true nature is to be evil!" she marries her eyes a moment, her tone growing cold as her gaze. "So no, I could never trust you Spike, and.." does she like him? admittedly he *is* kinda attractive and...Hey, what's she thinking?! He's a vampire, he's evil. He's..Spike! Ugh, what a terrible thought!

Spike has posed:
Spike shakes his head. "No, Buffy. If I could remove that chip I'd be the same Spike" he says and shakes his head. "Trust me. This chip's taught me a valuable lesson. You've helped me out, Buffy" Spike says and looks her dead in the eyes. "Do you really think I'd just snap my fingers and be evil? You've not noticed I've chaned, have you? I've not tried to hurt you or kill you. Yes. Part of it's the chip. Part of it is" Spike says. "That humiliation taught me a lot. I was a stupid, dumb vampire, Buffy. I learned. I grew and I have changed. Whether you believe me or not" he says, his eyes burnning with conviction and truth.

When she says she could never trust him, Spike holds up a hand. "You're trusting me right now. You're stood here, aren't you? You're trusting me not to be evil, and....I'm not" he says and gestures to the couch. "Take a seat. I'll get you a sandwich or something if you'd like" he says gently.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, tapping her foot impatiently. She shouldn't be here, entertaining him, hanging out with him, getting too close to him, but.."I dunno about that, Spike. It's easy to be all noble as long as you physically can't hurt me even if you wanted to. But even with that chip or without, you're still lacking a soul. I get it, it's not your fault, you're a demon. And demons without souls will always betray people, one way or the other. Sure, I was sympathetic to you but only because you were a victim of the initiative. I'm sorry but, that's just how it is." there's just a little more sympathy in her eyes as she says that.

Spike has posed:
Spike shakes his head and smiles. "I'm not that bad, Bufffy. Yes the Initiative were awful. But. I'm okay. I'm okay. I'm not evil" Spike says noting the more sympathy. "It's not how it is, Buffy" Spike says. "If you're angry at me, punch me then. Take your anger out on me for being a vampire, Buffy" he says and stands there, staying put. "I'm used to it. I'm used to betraying people, but you know what? Maybe it's the chip. Maybe it's watching you for so long...but I can't betray you. Go on. Test me" Spike says all but goading Buffy to put his words to the test....as if somehow if he proves himself to not be evil and that he literally can't betray her.....she'll think more of him. Maybe...?

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers arches a brow at Spike, "Y'know, you're really pushing it right now, I could stake you right now, turn you to dust..And that would be the end of you." she smiles. It would deal with the problem of him ever breaking free of his lil' chip problem, and betraying her when she least expects it. "You know, you might have a point. I just can't take the chance.." she pulls out her stake, pointing it at her chest. "Tell me, is this *really* what you want?" she smirks, it 's hard to tell if she's joking or serious. Even she seems to hesitate to actually get it over with.

Spike has posed:
Spike shakes his head with a sigh. "No it's not what I want. Buffy. I like this planet. You got everything. You got a great world. Think on it Buffy. You stake me, it'll eat away at you" Spike says simply then falls quiet. "Put the stake down. Buffy" he says and looks uneasy as Spike's on edge. "Is you staking me what I want? No. What I want is" he says and looks Buffy dead in the eyes. "Is to prove I'm not evil, Buffy. I want to prove that I'm a vampire that can change" he says firmly. "You think it's the chip making me change. No. No." he says. "I'm changing because I want to change"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smirks, "Ooh, are you scared now, Spike? Got you nervous did I?" she sighs, putting the stake down, "Forget it, it would be a waste. You're more good to me alive than dead." Besides..There'se that other reason. She may actually *miss* him, mourn him...But, ugh, what's she thinking? It's not like she gives a damn about him, right? "Alright Spike, you wanna prove yourself, then no more mind games. You help me slay things, we patrol together. No trying to get cozy or anything. Just strict patrolling. You watch my back, I watch yours. And then, maybe someday, I trust you, and believe that it's more than just the chip talking. Hey, maybe you'll never get that chip out and you'll be forced to be good forever." she chuckles, "Isn't that a terrible thought, being my slave forever." she's half joking of course, but there are too many inuendos there, and she actually frowns a bit at her words. "I mean, scooby, whatever."

Spike has posed:
Spike nods sagely. "You want no mind games, right?" Spike says. "Just patrolling. No cozy. Pfft. You enjoy teasing me, Summers. You'd miss that too much if you gave it up" Spike points out. "You can't go a day without teasing me. If I didn't know better, Slayer. I'd call it flirting and say you like me. I'm a bad, bad boy, Buffy" Spike says and grins a wicked, vampiric grin. "See, you want to stake me. No. You got wood in your hand" Spike says fully playing up the innuendo. "Maybe we could do that on patrol, Summers. You show me how to handle wood and a stake. I learn from the best. Then I go away and practice what I learned on my own?"

Yes. he just went /there/

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers positively *scowls* at Spike, "What the hell are you trying to say, Spike? Do you *really* think I'd waste my time with a soulless demon like you? You're WAY beneath me!" but he just keeps going on and on, flapping his mouth, toying with her, making with the innuendos. "Arrgh!!" she yells and lunges towards him, punching him in the face. Hard. "Just shut the hell up! I have absolutely NO interest in you!" of course the fact that the mere thought makes her very upset proves...Something. Maybe.

Spike has posed:
"No I think you..." Spike starts and gets punched, hard. He looks amused for a moment, then returns the favor and screams in pain. A real. Genuine scream of pain as he clutches his face. He got punched by Buffy. Then the chip kicked in when he went to return the favor....he's in pain and gritting his teeth. "You. Are. interested!" he spits out before slumping to the floor. Damn chip. Admittedly he does get to his feet before the pain subsides and he looks to Buffy. "You feel better now?" he asks, then has an idea. "Punching me is a good way of getting your anger out, Slayer. You've done it enough before" he says and is secretly hoping she'll carry on punching him again.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers rolls her eyes. "You are such an idiot, don't you ever learn?" she laughs, "You can't hurt me, no matter how much I hurt you!" she's practically taunting him...But then he seems to be enjoying it and that just annoys her further. "Dammit! what's WRONG with you! Just shut up already! i've heard enough! And I SO am not interested in you!" and she slaps him across the face, and punches him in the stomach. "Just...Shut up!"

Spike has posed:
Spike grins. "Do I learn. What're you teaching me, how to deal with Buffy Summers, the Chosen One?" he asks and does, in fact, shut up. Somehow he's still considering what to say even as he gets slapped and punched. He just....doesn't react. Instead he returns the favor by throwing a punch at Buffy's shoulder. She wants a fight? She'll get one with him. Admittedly, it's something Spike enjoys, and he's not punching at full strength either, that'd seperate her shoulder. Still....Spike's punching....about human strength really.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, and throws several more punches, attempting to slam him to the ground. "You are sooo wrong! I dont like you at all! I really should just kill you, just make you shut up!" she ends up climbing on top of him, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck as she pulls her stake out. "I'll bet the world would be a lot better without you in it!" so why can't she do it, dammit? Instead, she ends up tracing his chin with the tip of the stake, toying with him. "Dammit, I really hate you.." she snarls, pulling his face up to meet hers. Ugh, she didn't mean to do that. Ugh, he's annoyingly attractive.

Spike has posed:
"You're on top of me Summers. What're you thinking aside from staking me?" he asks and grins. He's annoying.....ly attractive really....and he looks Buffy dead in the eyes. "You're lying to yourself, Summers" he says softly. "No no, Buffy, you're on top of me, you're waving a stake" he says quietly. "You think you hate me. Well, why are you on top of me, putting your face close to mine?" he asks, then reaches up to wrap his arms around Buffy. "See, Summers. You're not so bad are you?" he asks with a smile.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers's eyes widen in horror and realization that he's....Possibly right! "Dammit!" This is going south fast! She's about to pull away when he pulls her down with him and she snarls, struggling against him, tossing her stake aside as she breaks free, attempting to slap him in the face once more for good measure before climbing back to her feet. "Try that again and I WILL stake you. I've had it with you. No more playing nice. I'm outta here!" she snarls as she dusts off her clothes and storms to the door. It's still dark outside and she's ready for some slayering. Too bad in her huff, she forgot her stake behind.

Spike has posed:
Spike waits for a moment and decides to do the righ thing. Grabbing Buffy's stake he trails her at a safe distance. Or, several paces. "You forgot your stake" Spike calls. He jogs behind her and taps her shoulder with the blunt end of it....holding the pointy end. He knows how it looks, like he's....doing things with the stake, but he's ensuring she can't stake him. Still. Spike's trying to make it right. "Look, I'm sorry for taunting you, okay. You can throw a punch though Buffy" Spike says. "At least I'll patrol across the city and catch you later" Spike offers, leaving it in Buffy's hands.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers is totally off in her own world, totally ignoring Spike, even quickenning her pace to be rid of him. "Dammit, you just like a bad penny! You just keep showing up at the worst times! Why won't you just...Just go away, already!?" she spins around, doesn't even notice the stake as she punches him in the face. "Go away! I'm patroling alone tonight!" she runs off then...Right into a group of newly awakenned vampires - all five of them. Two of them look particularly big and strong, probably athletes from college. She snarls and starts spinning around, throwing wild punches and kicks at them. She's totally off her game tonight, unfocused (thanks alot Spike!) and one of the Vampires shoves her to the ground..

Spike has posed:
Spike runs after her and full on leaps at the vampire pinning Buffy. Given he's still got her stake, he's leaping stake first at the one pinning the Slayer. he's also whirling his other fist at the other four vampires, and looking to fight them off, if only to save the slayer. Spike's so ready and so done with these vampires. "Piss off. Leave the Slayer alone you bastards. She was on top of me five minutes ago" he shouts to the vampires. He knows it'll rile Buffy up...but an angry Buffy and vampires to slay is a good thing. It's.....a pep talk of sorts. Plus he secretly likes it when she hits him. "Yeah that's right. She had wood in her hand. You jealous, assholes?" Spike says as he's drawing the vampires to him, and he tosses the stake, blunt ends first, carefully to Buffy. "Fine. Don't thank me" Spike calls and gets slugged by a vampire. He's down with a vampire setting up to sink its teeth into his neck.

Buffy Summers has posed:
"Hey! Did I ask for your help? NO! I had everything under control." Nope, no thanks in store for Spike. Not this time. Even though he DID just save her life. Buffy flips back to her feet, whirling around on the remaining vamps, quite annoyed when Spike takes front point. "And I DONT need your help to fight these guys either!" still, she takes the stake without a thanks, back-kicking a vamp behind her before delivering a back-handed stake to the heart. "One two..Three more left. Dont get in my way!" oh great, there he is, already losing his focus, about to get bitten by another vamp. She lunges at vamp number three, dusting him between herself and Spike, which..Leaves her in another awkward position with her straddling Spike underneath, a dusted vamp between them.

Spike has posed:
Spike looks up at Buffy and smiles. "Hi" he says and looks amused. "You know you're straddling me, right? You dusted that vamp and sort of straddled me. So hello, Buffy" Spike nods. "I was going to offer you my hand but...." he points out. "Okay. You are mad at me. I get it. You don't want me to patrol, fine. I'll sit in my sub basement all night and watch soaps if you want. Or I could just patrol on my own but who'd rescue me if I got into trouble. It'd be on you if I got hurt, Buffy. I don't want that" he says. There's a gentle kindness to his words. Spike's being honest and opening up. "See, Buffy. We're stuck in this together, like it or not. I'm a vampire who slays his own kind. So" Spike mutters. "Least I can do is help and support you, you know? I've watched you for so long it's amazing I'm still alive"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers sighs and grabs him by the shoulders, shoving him to the ground as she spins around to deal with the final vamp. "No matter what you say, it'll never work. Even if you save my life a hundred times, I'll never thank you, and I'll never admit to something that's not there." even if she knows there is something there. And she wont admit it. She's practically dancing with the last vampire now, kicking and punching and slamming him into trees and taking all her frustrations out on him, taking her bloody sweet time to kill him as all those frustrating thoughts of Spike twirl around in her head. "Do whatever you want with slaying vampires, just dont get in my head like that again!"
