Cast of Characters: Polaris, Emma Frost

Polaris has posed:
A few hectic days had been spent in Genosha, her father was absent gone to 'take care of private business concerning the safety of the country.' As far as she knew, he was still gone, but she could sense, vaguely where he was. If she desperately needed to find him, she could... she hoped. Either way, Lorna had been busy managing the business tasks that came her way when her father was absent. Her 'quick check' had turned into almost a week of her trying to shore up Genosha's defenses, to make sure that everyone was aware, prepared, and most importantly not panicking.

Even if she desperately wanted to. Panic that is. Her heart was constantly in her throat with each new update to the Sentinel's chaos, attacks, and mission reports, news feeds and videos. She'd stayed on top of it all as much as she could. And her lack of sleep was beginning to wear on her. Still, she was determined to do what was best for her country, no matter what. She'd rung up Emma, asked the woman if she could chat with her regarding business matters and the alike.

The beautifully decorated restaurant accented in white leather booth with dim lighting, a bar top of industrial shaped steel, and world class food is where she found herself. The Princess of Genosha rarely ate out in public in the States, and when she did was typically in or near Mutant Town. Where people typically recognized her for her hair and face, after all. Here though, she blended in as just another woman dressed nicely, if not with rather 'eccentric' colored hair. Here, if someone recognized her, they'd be either too rich or wealthy to care, or more likely--not wish to appear so. The hostess ushered Lorna to the back where there sat a much more exclusive, private section, and the sound of the dinning room was heavily muted from the rest of the restaurant. Lorna slid into the leather bound booth with ease, her grey silk dress whispering with her movement as she set her purse aside next to her.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma has been seated in the booth for ... a time. She was here before Lorna, how long that time is, is not important. Emma sits with a flute of white wine before her and she has worn her Thursday best. What appears to be a simple business suit is in fact hand made for the head of Frost International, a charcoal color top and pants and a tastefully done two button vest worn atop her blue and shimmering blouse. The blonde wears a matching pair of pants that hug her hips before falling off and pooling just above her toes in her deep blue heels hidden beneath the table.

Emma's carefully trimmed eyebrows lift up as she spots Lorna and she even smiles those red painted lips. "You're looking more and more princessly each day." Emma compliments in her own way as she lifts the crystal and brings it to her lips to take the faintest sip. "Can we assume the pleasantries have been dished out, I'd like to cut right to it and get down to why you wanted to meet with me."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna reached for her own glass of wine that was placed on her side of the table, a smooth motion that while it looked at first glance to be the product of some manner of finishing school or the alike, was simply hours of self enforced attempts to mimic the proper posture and the alike. It was a little bit more to the roll of her shoulders, the way she angled her wrist. She sipped at its contents while Emma spoke and while she took stock of the area around them.

"Thank you, and I appreciate cutting to the point of it all. It's why I reached out to you. Genosha is prepared as it will be for the an attack. My father is off doing who knows what, in who knows where. I don't know the details, other than it deals with Genosha's security. All of these Sentinel attacks, and the Mission reports have me on edge. Suffice to say, I'm worried. About Genosha's safety. You met Trask. And I met Sebastian. Our two biggest threats that really stem from the same root." She was edging into near prose-worthy territory, too use to having been her more politic self in front of the Genoshan council and others that looked to her when her father was otherwise not present.

"I want your thoughts on what we should and can do going forward."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Remind me later to get you a dictionary." Emma says as she lowers her flute down and gives Lorna that glistening eye look to show that she's merely teasing the woman. Emma then leans back into the booth and laces her fingers below her chest as she ponders the words she should use. "For you and Genosha, the only action you CAN openly do is to prepare for an invasion, but even then, you have to be meticulous about what actions you take. There are a lot of things that could set off this time bomb. It's a political and figurative nightmare that could turn literal all too quickly." Emma sighs to herself as she reaches back out to pick up her fork and take a small bite of the chops that are on her plate. "As for the X-men and that kind of thing, we have to actively be seen protecting Trask, especially in the media and in public. How else would you take power from the man and his fearmongering? As for me, I'm still digging up dirt and trying to find ways to disrupt the supply lines to his infernal robots."

Emma looks back to Lorna, curious to know if this is anything the princess can even stomach.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna's phone ding'ed and she glanced toward Emma and set the glass thin device down, flicked her hand over it and up popped several new news headlines and bites about the Sentinels. "I have it updating me whenever certain key words are used so I can stay on top of what's coming out in the news outlets. If you wanted to read it, it's there." She offered softly, and folded her hands on the table top.

"We're as prepared as we possibly can be. Without external allies. I had wanted to find some, another country sympathetic to our cause.. something. But no one is in a hurry to tie themselves to my father." Her lips thinned into a fine line.

"As you said the situation can quite literally explode at any moment. My father in particular, when he acts.. I'm more than concerned." She exhaled a breath and reached for the glass of wine again as Emma spoke of protecting Trask.

"I have no intentions of protecting the man, as I highly doubt he means to accept any help from a mutant, much less myself. I can't publically be seen anywhere near him that way. Can you imagine how messy that would be in the news outlets in Genosha?" She arched a brow and shook her head.

"But I do think it would ruin his image of mutants if we did protect him." She exhaled a breath, and tapped her nails against the stem of her wine glass.

"Sebastian's programming makes him //hate// mutants. He could knock out my powers remotely, or by touch. If he's gone off the deep end, then we're in trouble. He can take over Sentinels remotely as well, and get into their systems. A little back door that Trask built into all of his units, sold or otherwise. But before Sebastian went completely rogue, he told me that he intended to get hold of one of the molds in a factory. He said they're like generals who take Trask's orders.." She kept her voice hushed.

Emma Frost has posed:
"That's horrible news." Emma says with a frown towards Lorna as she hears about this Sebastian figure she's heard of but isn't aware of beyond that. "So if you openly attack him, those that agree with him will be much more militant, however if we can be seen helping the bastard, then, only then, the smallest gap can begun to be crossed. It wont end anti-mutant sentiments, but it is a stepping stone." Emma says with a frown, her ice blue eyes locked onto Lorna's.

"However protecting him will be rather, difficult. His latest machines have power inhibitors built directly into them." Emma says with a deeper frown as she lowers her fork and reaches for the crystal. "I've been dealing with Kids and the X-men at the school, my free time has been nonexistant so I haven't had a chance to do a whole lot of snooping or investigating." Emma reports.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna slowly inclined her head, "My concerns being that Sebastian is from a future society, an advanced society. I warned of it in my report, I told the Professor that my belief was that we had to end Sebastian before he could come to the point that he'd attack.. That he would attack." And I was right, trailed in her mind. But it hardly took a mind reader to understand her point.

"Genosha's ability to defend against that is... slim to say the least. Kitty wasn't even sure if the anti-detection units we have would work against his sensors." She pursed her lips, and dragged her hands back from the table top to rest on her lap. The green haired woman seemed to struggle with ideas on where to go from here.

"We can either be reactive in this situation, or actively try to stop him. He obviously is working against Trask now, and Trask is clearly struggling to save face."

Emma Frost has posed:
"So, ... the enemy of my enemy." Emma says, her finger nail lifting up to tap at her lower lip as she looks to Lorna once more. "Maybe if we wait and do nothing, these two could likely destory each other or one of themselves." Emma contemplates aloud. The white queen takes another sip of her whine as she considers Lorna, "Or... I think we could win this. If we can somehow get Sebastian to go after Trask, which sounds like it's going to happen either way, and we protect Trask, we save the timeline and yet, maybe, just maybe, we alter it enough by influencing the small man's mind and opinions. ... Just spit balling."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna pursed her lips and inclined her head, "Either way, we have to act. I feel if we just sit back, my father will not be one to sit still over this. Whatever he is doing will change things. You met Trask before, how hard is it going to be if we tried formal lines of communication and tried to do this openly with him?" The green haired woman finally reached forward to finish off the delicious glass of wine in front of her.

"If we sit back, people, innocent people will die. A lot of mutants and those that support us are scared, and scared people do stupid things."

Emma Frost has posed:
"I was in the same room as him, I barely got a single sentence to and from him. I wouldn't say I met the man. He was the extremest version of a doomsday preper yet. If the apocalypse was because of mutants that is." Emma replies snarkily and honestly.

"How noble of you. If you wish to begin to save the innocents, then we need to find Sebastian and set his sights on Trask asap, and we'll need people near him in order to react as quickly as possible." Emma says with a lift of a brow and her head noding subtly as she knows how risky this whole idea can and will be.

Polaris has posed:
A rough exhale followed, "I don't want this to come to Genosha's shores. It's not noble of me. It's very self serving. My position has its benefits, and it comes with duties. Those include doing everything I can to protect people there. If this is the best ideas we have then it's what we work with." She exhaled a breath, her hands folded on her lap as she recrossed her legs and settled more firmly against the white leather of the seat.

"Sebastian will be looking at Trask factories if he still means to go for the molds. If Trask can be exposed, or used as bait in any way, it would draw him out. Which would lead to such an opportunity where we can stage people to protect him. Or at least, be prepared to. But it's a risk... if we can take out Sebastian at all."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Then what we need is more intel on Sebastian, as that's the biggest wild card in this whole thing. And don't you worry about your tropical beaches, it's why I'm planning to do this as soon as we can. Hit Trask on American soil, before your father has a chance to mess anything up with his hasty behavior." Emma says from around the rim of her flute, a shimmer of joy tricking across her eyes. She lives for this kind of subversion and espionage. It's beyond fun for Emma.

Polaris has posed:
A rough exhale followed Emma's words and Lorna managed to avoid the urge to fidget in her seat. Compared to the blonde, Lorna simply hadn't yet practiced the ability of sitting still. Even though she'd sat through countless Council meetings and the alike, when discussing something as important as defending Genosha and the world's mutants from impending doom.. It was hard to sit still.

"I don't know how we can possibly get more intel than we already have. We don't even know where he is now that he's fled from the Avenger's Mansion. Hence my suggestion on using Trask as bait. If anything would draw him out, it would be the man himself."

Emma Frost has posed:
"That's exactly the plan, however, going in without knowing our enemy in the slightest is only asking to be killed or worse." Emma says with a sigh herself. "Maybe we need someone to go talk with the avengers to learn everything we can..." The white queen notes with a sip of her wine, finishing the drink and giving the Princess a nod, "Is there anything else we need to be focusing on or is this the crux of your concern?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna pursed her lips, "The Avengers shared what they knew with us I believe, and I shared my reports. We only know for a fact that he was a human once, his hands contain weapons. He can sense mutants. He can turn off our powers via touch or by distance. I don't know much else for sure, because who knows if he was lying about any of it or not?" She arched a brow. "We can ask for any details Stark might have on him, on his specs or anything.. if they exist. But Wanda didn't share anything else with me." She sighed heavily and shook her head.

"This is what I'm concerned about the most. Not much else. The X-men want to act, obviously, but my focus is on Genosha. If anything happens, I will be there."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Then maybe you should go to where your concerns are?" Emma says with a cant of her head as if she's telling Lorna to follow her heart, not in a disappointed sort of fashion, but matter of fact-ly. The white queen finishs her dinner moments after her wine and then smiles to Lorna, "I too have things I am worried about, and I must go address them now. Feel free to eat your share Lorna, there's an Uber Black waiting outside to take you wherever you want to go in solitude and safety. It's been nice catching up with you again." Frost says as she stands up and places a hand upon Lorna's shoulder and then turns to walk to the door.
