The Day Damian Didn't Return to the Tower.
Date of Scene: 22 June 2019
Location: Barker Island, North Hempstead
Synopsis: Damian doesn't return to the tower to do a bit of investigation on the quiet, and Colette doesn't meet him there. Nope.
Cast of Characters: Robin (Wayne), Stardust

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian rides the boat ashore quietly sitting on the deck not wearing his robin suit, but what looks to be a silk hoodie though some in the know might reconize it as League material though it has no real markings. He had paid this person more then he would care to bring him over without asking any questions. He was wearing his 'mask' though it was covered by the hood, and his outfit was more padded armor that was light to move, and stealth in then Batsuit. He said nothing, and was asked nothing for the whole trip being deposited on the lands around the tower he looked up at it, but just looked forward again with that determined look on his face.

He may of been detected at this point, but if nothing stops him he was going to walk up to the door of the Tower, and try his key. He hadn't checked if anyone was here or not as he had just realized what he had to do to decrypt the notebook without his father knowing, and there were only a few he needed to avoid. So that is Damians return no bells, no whistles just someone not even wearing the right outfit trying to open the door back from his walkabout.

Stardust has posed:
Indeed Damian had been detected before he'd even set foot on the island. The sensor equipment scattered around the island and its approaches is pretty thorough. However, the Titans have a policy of being approachable. While the trip to the island is kept intentionally tricky to discourage sight-seers (except on special tour days), people do just turn up sometimes to ask for help, or a try-out, or because they're journalists hoping for a scoop or whatever. So while it's true that there are hidden cameras following his movements, there is no attempt, automated or otherwise, to discourage him.

By the time he reaches the door, his obscured features have been recorded and are showing on the internal security system, if any of the Titans happen to be watching. Normally nobody really bothers unless the systems flag up any suspicious behavior. The only thing that counts as suspicious behavior is that he isn't registering with the systems as he doesn't have his T-Com with him, but he does have a key-card for the door. The familiar doors to the lobby slide open to the anonymous visitor, and almost immediately afterwards there's a thump and a slight shaking of the ground as Stardust drops out of the sky behind him. "Soooo... mister hooded visitor. Normally people with a key card also have a com." She tilts her head, eyes narrowing behind the domino mask as she takes in the build and poise of the visitor. "Hmm. You can't be trying to sneak in, 'cos this isn't exactly sneaky. Hello."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian is quiet looking a bit down to keep his face covered with the hood as he walks in doing his best to not look suspisious, but still looking guilty. The door opened so he must still be on the list of users which will make what he has to do here a lot easier. He doesn't smile at this or frown that flat look all he can muster as he walks into the lobby looking around. Though he doesn't get far before he hears a voice behind him, there were a few people he could of ran into so maybe his luck is holding he stops walking though doesn't turn.

"Still working on those landings? I felt the impact from here.." is all he says though he knows she prob wanted him to hear her.

He slowly turns and glances up, and though it is Damian just in a League outfit other then the Robin on he looked a bit more serious. His skin was darkened by being in the sun way too long, and he had that look of someone who is returning from being out in the wild for a while. He doesn't speak again mearly nods to her, turning again as if he were to continue walking.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust is really good at landings. She practices them a lot. One of her favorites is the silent landing, where she stops an inch above the ground. One of her other favourites is the noisy landing, where she accelerates at the last moment for extra boom. Robin knows that. But then Robin likes a bit of snark from time to time, and Stardust knows that. She wasn't certain from the build, or the way he moved, but the snark - and the voice - gives him away. "Robin," she says. "Or not. You don't seem to be dressed for it."

Stardust follows him into the lobby, pacing cat-like behind him, maybe the softness of her steps making up for the loudness of her arrival. "Sneaking back? Nah. You're better at sneaking than this. Low profile then? I guess that means you didn't want the fanfare. Not back 'officially'? Fair enough. What are you after?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian nods, and listens to her talk he walks towards the computer room though it is a bit of a walk he is quiet for a bit thinking about what to say, as he expected she would follow him and he isn't trying to walk away even if he could. He is silent for a while walking thinking about what to say, but instead gives her a nod.. "The name is the hardest part to lose." he starts looking around for the righ path to the computer room. He picks a way after a bit of looking, and continues. "For what else are you to call me..." he stops and holds up a finger. "No... that wasn't asking for suggestions." and shakes his head continuing to walk again.

He takes a few more steps then sighs, "Okay.. I can feel you staring.." well maybe it was guilt of being so cold to a friend. "I only have one Robin suit, it and the bike is all I took from cave and I have not returned.. I don't know if I will, but until then I need to be careful with it." he turns to head away again. "And I am not sneaking in.. Don't I live here or something?"

Stardust has posed:
"You don't have your Com with you," Stardust points out. "And you haven't asked about getting a replacement. That means you didn't want the systems to ping your arrival. So yeah, sneaking. Or sneak-ish. Didn't say you weren't allowed to, that's your business. " She walks alongside him her stride business-like. It's almost as if she's acting the bodyguard. "Heading to crime lab. But you were at the cave. So, not Titans business, but not bat business either. Robins one and three have been around the tower quite a bit lately, fair warning. Just in case that was information that would be useful to you."

Stardust falls silent a few moments, thinking. "If you wanted I could set up a remote access point via the security net. The big tree on the north shore, you know the one with the branches that dip down into the water? I'll put in a repeater if you like, you could wifi in from there. I mean if you need to use the Titans systems without risking running into any spare Robins."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
He nods to her about his Com he hadn't had it not for a while he sighs a bit thinking about it though he does listen to her summary of the situation. He had already ran into well both Robins though neither of them realized yet what was going on. He looks around a bit thinking about her suggestion stopping his walk, it wasn't a bad idea it would hide it, though he continued walking again. "I though about sneaking, actual sneaking in, and it kind of goes with your suggestion. I won't use his computer to do it, but I think it is time that I stop worrying what they will find out."

He stops and turns looking at her, "They all have their secrets as I still have some of mine, but I am done worrying about how they would judge me for mine." then turns with that determined look to keep walking towards the crime lab. "None of it matters really, they are losing sight of what is important everytime they start investigating each other. Someone needs to break the chain."

Stardust has posed:
Stardust answers Robin with a nod of her head. "Yeah, I mean to be honest? Didn't want to say anything, but sneaking in to a place where you live and have top security access to was kinda... well, you do have a penchant for the dramatic I guess." She gives him a smirk. "This place is your home too, Robin. Don't be driven away from it just because you don't feel completely at home at your other home. This is your place, not /his/." It's pretty obvious who she means when she says 'his'. It's a conversation they've had more than once before.

"Each other." Stardust repeats the phrase then tilts her head, eyes narrowed. "Lack of context here. You're not talking about Robins. Anything I can help with? I mean we've got plenty of stuff going on here. More newbies since you left. We're still trying to figure out what's going on with that Fae business Vorp was involved with. And there are giant robots, but you probably know about that. But I can spare a bit of time if you need a hand with something."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian looks at her a little over his shoulder, "Gotham needs me.. I can not leave it." in a solumn voice as he sighs with a pause, "I am just not sure where I fit right now time will tell." he walks skipping over the each other question leaving that vague for now as there was little either of them could do about that now. He walks a bit more in silence thinking about it, "It is almost tempting though, fly to Gotham at night.." he shakes his head at that idea for now he was here for a reason.

Finally he spots it, moving towards the Lab almost glad to see no Robins in there. "It is a simple decryption on this." he pulls out a notebook so he can start to get the pages scanned. "I aquired it from Question I want to see what he has been investigating as he has been working with Bats." he nods to the notebook. "They can get the same information, by looking it up though without the where it came from or how to use it they will not be able to know what is planned next."

Stardust has posed:
"Okay," Stardust says. "So I gotta ask. This Question guy is working with Batso, and you don't trust him, is that it? Well. That's a pretty Bat thing you're doing right there. I mean I never did get you to admit that half the point of the Red X business was you learning what all our weaknesses were for if you ever needed them, but then you've never denied it either." She smirks at Damian, and circles around the back of the terminal he's setting up at to walk over to the windows. She tugs the blind open and peers out.

"You've got a place here, if you need it. It's not far to Gotham if you need to commute. Whether you fit in or not is something you can discover later. You're on the team. Nobody's gonna judge how much Titaning you do. I mean let's be honest, Kori's main contribution to the team lately has been her finally agreeing to order some pizzas without mustard on them, but she still lives here. " Stardust shrugs her shoulders, her back still to Damian as she looks out the window. "You want my advice, don't let people push you away from where you want to be. Don't worry about treading lightly. You do what you gotta do and work it out. The world isn't waiting for you to come up with an answer, and you don't owe the world one. Only yourself."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian glances over at her bringing up Red X he doesn't answer though turning to look at the computer specificly instead as she asks about The Question. He gives a little "Humph" to the comparison to Batso, though he lets her finish before he replies to it, "It isn't worth my time to trust or distrust him, but if he has been working in Gotham if there is something going on in Gotham I want to know cause it needs to be stopped." he speaks calmly though he stares at the monitor just doing its job.

He falls silent for a moment hitting a few keys to move on to the next pages just thinking about how to answer that, "It is a fair offer, I will consider it. Maybe I can dig out that Red X outfit to wear around." and gives her a small sidways glance. Though he quickly turns to look back down at the keys to continue typing like nothing was said. After a moment he thinks about it, "When it isn't running away from an issue other then facing it." he nods to himself, "that is when I will move to the tower." and then moves back to silence again.

Stardust has posed:
"Yeah, I wouldn't do that. Certain amount of bad feeling about the Red X incident still," Stardust observes. "Though a little bit of dyeing and stitching to give it a slightly different look, maybe. " She stares at him a few moments, then breaks into a smirk. "Lose the raised boots though, if you're not trying to pretend you're someone taller. You don't fight as well in heels, Robin."

Though Stardust had turned away from the window to look at him, her fingers remained holding the blinds open. She withdraws them now, letting the blinds fall back into place with a >kchk<. She walks back to the door and stops in the doorway to look back at him over her shoulder. "I won't say welcome back quite yet then." She gives a vague half-shrug, one shoulder rising and falling lazily. "I'll leave you to it. If any of the Robins show up, I'll ping a warning down to your terminal. You know how to contact me if you need something."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian gives her a slow nod to the Red X thing, and wasn't sure any form of that would be okay at least for a while. "Those shoes were hell on the ankles so no.. will pass on that" he sighs, and nods he has moved from the computer to examine some other samples he picked up from the other unrelated crime scene. "It will be sooner then later, and if you wouldn't mind maybe if I could get another one of those T-Com's.. I promise I will not canabalize this one for parts." and glances at her "Wait.. old habbit. I can not promise that."

The he turns really getting to work as he moves through the lab doing multiple things, waiting on decription going through chemical makeups of samples as inside it gets really busy. Unless he got that message he would just shut off the world for a little bit to work inside the lab tracking down clues to catch the criminals.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust stays in the doorway a few moments, still looking over her shoulder at him. "You went off to discover yourself," she says dryly. "If I believed for a moment you wouldn't cannibalize a T-com for parts, I'd have to conclude you'd lost yourself completely." She pulls her own T-Com off her belt and tosses it to him. "As it happens I just lost mine on a mission. Destroyed by a rogue Sentinel, or crushed when I got punched through a wall or something, I don't quite recall. I better go fetch myself a replacement. I presume you remember your code."

Turning her back, Stardust reaches her hand to the door close control and holds it there. She calls back "Pretty sure I didn't meet you today. If anyone asks. Make your own 'I'm back' speech when you're ready. Seeya around, shortstuff." She presses the button, letting the door slide shut between them.
