Cast of Characters: Captain Marvel (Danvers), Shadowcat

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
With everything being hectic, and Sentinels being a very real threat, and quite out of control, Carol decided to was high time to visit her old friends and colleagues at Xavier's and see how they're coping. Not fully announced, she flies to the Mansion, but at least offers the X-Men a radio from the Avengers' communicator in her posession, <<if anyone is about and don't mind to catch up, I'll be stopping by the ground for a short visit.>>

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde is down in the war room, tracking Sentinel locations and applying some machine learning algorithms to try get a feeling for which might be involved in action against Sebastion's Sentinels, which (presumably) no longer are phoning home to Trask. Which also means the sniffer Kitty put on their communications in order to track them, won't help locate them.

When she hears the radio transmission, Kitty gets a grin and rises from her chair. <Meet you outside,> Kitty radios back. Lockheed flies over to perch on her shoulder, knowing what is coming next as Kitty waits only long enough for him to join before she starts phasing up through the levels of the X-men base, coming up in a broom closet before heading on outside.

The brunette trots down the steps at the front door, moving over to find a shady spot beneath a tree while she looks up in the sky for Carol's arrival.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol is dressed in casual clothes rather than her Captain Marvel uniform, seems it really was meant to be a brief visit and not entirely in business capacity. Though once she sees Kitty emerge, as she comes to a landing, Carol grins, "seeing you pull that off will never be not cool. How are things going for you guys? These Sentinels are terrible nightmare..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves over to give her old friend a big hug. "Seeing you fly in is always great too," Kitty says with a smile. "We're doing pretty well. Been involved in a few scrapes with them. But nothing near the school. Storm, Rogue and I and a student were in that tussle at the police headquarters protest," she says. "And Negasonic got a little banged up fighting some as well. But we're doing well. Worried about Sebastion. I really wish we'd put him down when we had the chance," she says, frowning.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Good...if they ever come near the school I don't know if I'll be able to keep from hurting Trask," Carol admits to Kitty, sounding very much concerend. Turns out that despite not being around much, the school is very much on her mind. "Negasonic? The mouthy kid?" Carol asks, not too sure about the newer students. "Yeah...Sebastian is a world of pain. I don't like things that are not straight forward, much prefer blasting bad guys to oblivion. It makes more sense," she winks playfully at Kitty, granting she's the better between the two when it comes to brainy stuff.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty refrains from commenting how much the mannerisms and attitude remind her of her Rogue. The two may have made their peace, but she's not going to be the one to dredge up any of those memories if she can help it. Instead she just grins and says, "Yep, that's Ellie. She's a bit outspoken, but she's a pretty solid individual, really."

Kitty glances at the school and nods a confirmation. "It's a fear of mine. Spending more time here in part so I'll be here should anything happen," she says, giving a soft sigh as if while she loves being here, she's giving other things up for the extra time spent at the school. "I heard there's maybe some protective magic to help hide the school that one of your teammates is planning. I really hope that works out," she says of Wanda Maximoff's offer of a concealment spell.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
It's easy to forget just how much Rogue had 'borrowed' from Carol, but when one happens to interact in a short span with both, it becomes a bit clearer. Good thing Kitty is a master of tact. Because that could go any ol' way. Not always the good way. "I dig that, though I bet her mouth gets her in trouble too. I mean, she is a student, right?"

"Ah...yes, Avengers have a fair share of otherworldly, I can admit to that much," Carol smiles, appreciating just how crazy it gets, when she can casually call a Norse god of Thunder, her teammate.

Shadowcat has posed:
"It does at times," Kitty agrees of Ellie, "Though not as much as you might think. She's more... ah... cooly sullen perhaps? I mean she can be sharp with others at times, but generally if people give her respect, they get a version of it back from them," Kitty says.

She smiles and asks, "So what's the purpose of the visit? Just a social call or checking up on us? I hope it's not bad news at least. You're always welcome though, glad when you're able to make it out. Too bad you didn't make the cookout we had with Cap and Janet. It went over really well with the students. I think it maybe helped morale around here. Which, as things have gotten worse, is a very good thing."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"That's good to hear, maybe there's hope for her yet," Carol says with a grin. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to make it, been actually more occupied in galactic affairs lately, haven't been on Earth as much. That's actually why I wanted to stop by, to check how you're handling these Sentinels...offer a helping hand, I guess, if needed..." she shares with Kitty, reaching to embrace her. "the X-Men will always have me on their side."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde gives her longtime friend a big hug back. She's known Carol nearly as long as she's been an X-man, and some of her most trying times came in space with the other woman. "Glad you're out there looking out for our interests where the rest of us don't often get to go. I haven't been off-planet in so long now," Kitty says, shaking her head.

Lockheed, with Kitty hugging Carol, takes advantage of the moment to get his head rubs in against her as well. "So how are things going for the Avengers with what is happening?" Kitty asks. "I've heard some of you have been involved. Banner in particular?"

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I'm sure you miss it, don't you?" Carol says to Kitty with a soft smile, "there's nothing quite like living your very own sci-fi movie...it used to be a dream, and it's so strange to me it had somehow become a reality..."

With Lockheed stealing attention where he can, Carol takes a moment to offer him some scritches, if he'll even allow it. She's not Kitty after all. "Oh, it's a pain, there's argument about best method to pursuit to resolve this...for a while I was all for bursting into Trask's office and shake him down. But yeah, Banner been very active recently."

Shadowcat has posed:
"Yes, I don't know if you've seen his latest press release? Trask is blaming it all on mutants who built their own Sentinels," Kitty says with a roll of her eyes. "God I'd love to wring his neck," says the generally non-violent young woman. Well, she's far less violent than Logan at least.

Kitty sighs. "I just hope the way things have gone, have opened up the world to the threat they are," she says. "I hate seeing it take the deaths of non-mutants to stir people to action, but at least they are finally stirring," she says, frowning.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Trask is an asshole who needs a serious comeuppance..." Carol groans, responding as if hearing of Trask's bullshit is actually causing her to feel pain. "True...people need to wake up to Trask's real threat, to the Sentinel's real threat. You know how the quote used to go? Give me liberty, or give me death...they should teach history like they used to."
