Peacekeepers: Taking Control
Date of Scene: 23 June 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Most of the Peacekeepers have their directives overwritten and their controls encrypted by unknown parties. A group of heroes intercepts a group of them before they can attack a major city.
Cast of Characters: Lex Luthor, Supergirl, Buffy Summers, Free Lancer, Wonder Woman
Tinyplot: Peacekeepers

Lex Luthor has posed:
The call went out hours ago. A military test to prove the viability of LexCorps Peaceekeeper project... has gone horribly wrong. No one is saying what exactly happened... but Lex himself, along with the military, have made it clear that the cyborgs are /completely/ rogue.

In fact, Lex has gone so far as to setup a hurried checkpoint just outside Metropolis with a dozen Team Luthor soldiers down the road where the Peacekeepers are coming towards. A flatbed truck has also been hurried to the scene with some sort of high-tech cannon emplacement on top of it, being manned by two Team Luthor guards. A bit further back is a command center like vehicle.

Inside of it, Mercy, Hope, and Millicent are standing guard around Lex as he sits in the middle of it, his chair has some sort of device wrapped around his neck and forehead as he stares at code and camera feeds; the cameras being views of the outside in various spectrum, along with a top-down satellite feed of the incoming eight Peaceekeepers as they fly towards them.

Over the loudspeakers on the vehicle, Lex can be heard easily, "Satellites and the command centers sensors are picking them up, coming at maximum speed towards this way. I'm working on regaining control of their control firmware, but someone has locked me out quite adeptly. I'm fairly sure the people inside of the chassis are not in control anymore, so please, do not harm their organic components. Everything but the heart and brain are fair game to be destroyed. They can be replaced."

As he speaks, a number of dots can be seen coming in on the horizon... along with small and large explosions as they wreck whatever they come across.

"They apparently have not been able to bypass their non-lethal hardcoded directive either. Small Mercies." Lex notes.

Supergirl has posed:
"So you carry the x over... here."

The sound of scraping markers on a board, most of her fellow students with their noses in their cell phones or in a laptop. And the teacher at the head of the class droning on about this and that. Why did she ever try to take calculus 3?

Bringing up her hand to adjust her glasses, Kara tries not to audibly groan as the teacher continues. But her head tilts to one side, glancing towards the door. What she was hearing was a news report about robots flying towards Metropolis.

And that /was/ the sort of thing Supergirl was meant for. Gathering her things as quietly as she could, Kara /nearly/ made it all the way out the door, until she ends up spilling her books out of her backpack, drawing the lingering glance of the professor.

"Going somewhere, Miss Danvers?"

Holding up her phone, lamely, she displays the contacts. "I um. Family emergency," she says, continuing to hurry out the door, heaving a sigh.

NOT TOO MUCH LATER...

Supergirl's cape flutters behind herself as the Woman of Steel flies out over the Metropolis skies - on a collison course for the robots, when she spies... "LexCorp," she says to herself, catching the announcement with her super hearing. "Why am I not surprised that they're getting involved in this?" she asks, settling on the dots. And she tilts downward.

To land near Millicent and Lex Luthor, suspicion riding on her features. "...where did these things come from?" she asks the gathered bunch, her eyes spending time between Lex and his bodyguards in equal time.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers wasn't here on official duty or anything of the sort, but she did happen to be on her way to visit Metropolis, her bus having paused by the checkpoint to see what was going on. Buffy quickly disembarked, even as the bus continued on its way. Looks like they have things covered here but she's drawn by a mixture of curiosity and a desire to help however she can. She narrows her eyes, listening to the loudspeaker, noting the arrival of the Woman of Steel. Wow, Supergirl in the flesh..

Free Lancer has posed:
She hadn't been cheap, especially not on short notice mind. Millicent however had come with glowing reccomendations, a rarity for personal security professionals who aren't afraid of meta-human threats. Since she'd showed up however, she'd been all but mute. A woman who knew the drill never the less, never out of position until now. Fingertips delicately working the latch to tug that diamond rolex off, followed by those diamond cufflinks. "It would appear I'll need to elevate my protective posture, I'm going to step away and change into something more appropriate. Discretion would be appreciated, thankyou. "Offered in that crisp, clipped Swiss accent of hers.

That jacket slips off as she steps away without waiting for another word, vanishing into somewhere reasonably private so she can drop those layered illusiory spells and get her armor on. A knight was supposed to take twenty minutes to get themselves armored up in a rush, Millicent takes two. A rush of wildly alien magic forces at work, as she pulls down the old familar tools of her trade. For those intuned to such thing, the presence of wild Fey magic is hard to miss.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The invisible jet was dispatched from the Hall of Justice when word of this event reached the ears of the League's monitoring systems. The alien-tech powered vehicle screams through the sky enroute to the location, with Diana walks through the center of its interior space, talking over her shoulder back to her two Amazonian sisters flying the jet.

"Bring me in low." She tells them. "Then fall into a perimeter pattern around the area. If any of these things try to leave or get away, you are free to engage them with the weapons systems."

The Amazon pilot confirms Diana's words with a soft 'Aye, Princess.' and Diana steps on to the back of the ship's interior. She keys open the aft of the vessel and when they're close, she knife dives out into the air, then swiftly sweeps up into a controlled flight.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Those are from Project Peacekeeper." Lex answers Supergirl, "They're LexCorp built cyborgs designed for all kinds of uses. All current Peacekeepers are employees of LexCorp who were terminally ill and offered a second chance at LexCorp."

The abandoned cars down the stretch of road start to explode and get wrecked as the Peacekeepers get closer, visibly flying over the wreckage they left behind.

"Someone or something has managed to put a secondary transmiter on most of them and encrypted their firmware and protocols to the point it'll take me weeks to bypass." There's a grudging respect in his voice in the next one, "someone managed to figure out how to hijack their chassis from me. If it wasn't a personal insult, it'd be brilliant."

The eight Peacekeepers slowly come into view...

"Keep in mind, these are meant to be fairly powerful and military grade. Expect a fight." His voice fades away as Lex resumes his hacking battle over the radio waves.

The cannon on the flatbed turns, and the rounds of machinery whirring can be heard as... something.... happens.

One of the peacekeepers starts to lose control as their thrusters are EMPed, and it falls to the ground as it catches itself. But the rest keep coming, and start to fire in the direction of Diana and Kara with their arm based sonic cannons. Hunter-Class Peacekeepers go for kara with theirs, and the Riot-Class go for Diana. Both are high powered, and /hurt/... with three directed tunnels going for each.

"The bigger ones are Hunter Class Peacekeepers, they're the bigger threat."

Meanwhile, the last one -a Riot-Class Peacekeeper- tries to bypass the Team Luthor guards, trying to fly right at the command center.

Supergirl has posed:
Briefly, very briefly, Supergirl's eyes were drawn by Buffy Summers. A little smile - a lifting up of the edge of her lips, and she nods to the other blonde, before returning her eyes back towards the vehicle that she was making demands of. "So there's living /people/ in there, Lex?" she says, turning on her heel, eyes fixing on the flying robots.

X-Ray vision to look at their insides, her jaw held tight at that.

That little twist in her belly, the sick feeling of magic at play. Kara presses her lips together, eyes drawn to the sight of Wonder Woman. "Wonder Woman!" she calls, with a wave of her hand. One last look to Buffy, "Be careful - it's going to get dangerous out here - you should go inside this vehicle where it'll be safe," inviting Buffy into the Lexmobile. In spite of it not really being her place to invite someone into that.

Because she was off then, launching herself up into the air, making a lazy little circle as she avoids one of the Hunter class robots, rocketing towards them.

"Listen to me! You're people in there - you don't have to fight! Are you able to control anything at all?" she asks in a shout to one of the Hunter-class robots. "How can I help you?" she asks. Her motions were defensive for now.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers arches a brow as she sees the cyborgs approaching from the sky. Fortunately she's not unarmed and totally came equipped with one of her handy axes that she often uses in patrol, concealed of course in her duffle bag.

"Cyborgs, huh. I've fought robots before, shouldn't be too different." the idea that there are human brains and hearts in those machines is a bit creepy though.

She glances at Supergirl and smiles, "Thanks but I'll be fine!" with a yell, she leaps towards the cyborg that stumbled from the sky, swinging her axe with little effort to swipe it out of the sky and onto the ground. Sge seems to move with surprising strength and agility for a mere human as she focuses on taking that peacekeeper down.

Free Lancer has posed:
The helmet is what most people zero in on, for obvious reasons. It's been formed partially from the skull of some mythical great sabre toothed wolf, the pits where those eyes should be burning with otherworldly blue flame. An articulated cuirass which matches no earthly pattern, set overtop brilliant golden chainmail. Gauntlets which end in sharpened claws, a decorated buckler already clipped to her left forearm. All that armor cast in the color of stark white bones, with the shirt, breeches and skirt cast in turqoise. Theres a waning moon above a howling wolf on shield, but of course that standard likely belongs to no earthly house.

Our favorite knight from elsewhere surveys the field quickly. She snags a pair of neat white, well they look like oversized needles at first. Then well she smooshes those "needles" together, and after a moment theres a puff of smoke and it's been replaced by a zweihander which may infact be longer than Millicent is high. Armed and armored, she saunters fourth ever so casually. She finds a good spot with clear sight lines, enough space to fight.

There she stands, resting the hilt of that massive sword against her shoulder as she watches. "If you ladies would be so kind, I would very much appreciate you grounding our foes so I might be of some use?"Capes all have super hearing, right? All the same she does turn her head to glance back after Buffy, just to make sure she's alright back there. "Do not my shy if you need help dear, we're all in the same fight here."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's ability to dodge a sonic attack is as proficient as her ability to dodge really any other form of projectile attack, being physical, magical or otherwise... in that she's very proficient at it.

The swirling sonic waves rush toward her and her shield come up to meet them, she uses the shield against the sonic blast to push upward and away from them, to send her form tumbling above them until she's away from their punishing effect. With her dark hair whipping about her shoulders, Diana's blue eyes look over to Kara and she nods once to the young woman before she reaches for her lasso at her side and moves to intercept the machine that fired that shot at her.

She moves to fly right PAST it in fact, a bit of back and forth sway in her motion to help throw it off before she zips past it and in-doing-so attempts to loop the unbreakable Lasso of Truth around the machine's neck!

Lex Luthor has posed:
As Kara goes defensive with her movements, three of the Hunter-Class Peacekeepers start to follow her, their sonic cannons firing at her with coordination. One aims for her to force her to take it or dodge, only for someone to go behind her back and try for their own attack with the distraction, allowing for the third to attack from the side on their own turn.

It's a coordinated dance, making it clear that there is some sort of tactical network at play here, since there's no talking. In fact, there are no eyes... no nose... It's like a passive mask on all of them. Faceless soldiers trying to subdue the Woman of Steel.

Millicent will spot one of the Riot-Class Peacekeepers flying directly at her, now that she's outside, and directly in the way. It comes in for a metallic ram, twisting itself so it comes in for a shoulder check against her on the side of the command center.

"I'm not going to be able to breach their systems in this fight. Everything but the heart and brain can be replaced, take them down as you will from there." Lex continues over the loudspeakers.

Diana can take the hit from the Riot-Class Peacekeepers without much difficulty. All three cannons continue to fire at her to keep her busy... before two break off to the sides... and in much the same fashion as Supergirls fight, they start to coordinate, taking shots from different angles as they both keep her busy and try to get shots in for distraction and actual damage.

Or rather, two start, because Wonder Woman manages to easily lasso one in the middle of the coordinated assault. The Lasso of Truth finds it's mark, even as the remaining two continue to fire coordinated sonic blasts at Diana.

On the ground, Buffy is actually finding she's having a hard time keeping up with the Riot-Class Peacekeeper. This cyborg is fast. Inhumanly Fast... and bends in ways humans cannot. As it dodges and weaves, it bends over backwards... before starting to go end over end over end around Buffy, occasionally using it's arms as feet to take leg swipes and sweeps at the Slayer. Buffy manages to get a few hits in, with her agility, metallic sparks flying as some armor and circuity fly, but this one will take quite a bit of effort to take down in a duel.

Supergirl has posed:
"I heard you the first time, Luthor," Kara grumbles to herself. There was something about all this that was bothering her. Looking into those dead eyes, Kara's speed was paying her dividends for now - one of those sonics blasts rippling the air beside her.

Blue eyes lock upon one of the eyes of the robots, her jaw held tight. "Just... give me a sign if you're in there, alri...?"

Her focus would be her downfall. One of the other Hunters manage to catch a side on her, and her head erupts in sonic sound. Bringing up her hand, red cape fluttering in the wind, she clutches her hands to the sides of her head, falling out of the sky suddenly.

The world rang. Superhearing had its downsides, after all. Before she impacts the ground, however, she kicks into her flight again, twisting to start to fly upside down. With her fall, the Hunters were above her.

Eyes settle on one, one that was slightly away from the others. Millicent wanted to help?

Supergirl's plan was to dart upwards, changing the direction of her flight in an instant to tackle one of the Hunters from below, and throw him into the ground.

Maybe with a little more force than she originally intended.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers curses under her breath as she finds the peacekeeper is more flexible and..Fluid? than she expected. Still, she manages to keep up, leaping and flipping to stay out of its way, the she starts to spin her axe around her at dizzying speeds, hoping to hit it from all angles. "I mean seriously, what do they feed you?"

Buffy narrows her eyes as she attempts to predict its patterns and aims primarily low, at its legs. If she can slow it down at least by chopping off its legs, it'll be easier to overcome this creep and get on with the others.

She only spares a brief glance at Millicent. "No worries here! Just gimme a sec or two with this cyborg."

Free Lancer has posed:
Oh hey, something to fight! Milli leans foreward, breaking into a dead sprint and she's way faster than a human woman should be. Fast enough for every bootfall to hurl bits of grass up, bringing her up to a speed way faster than any mortal fighter. She steers right on after her foe, juking left before rolling back to the right. Gauntlets snagging that massive sword by the blade as she pivots, grunting as she begins her propper attack.

She's way quicker with the blade than she has any right to be in armor, and usually dramatically more precise. Boots leaving the ground as that pommel arcs through the air fast enough to leave a neat little contrail, in an attempt to brute force smash the semi-blunted guard of that sword right into the base of her foe's neck, Not enough to behead the poor unfortunate obviously but hopefully more than enough to firmly anchor them to the end of her sword for whats to come.

Wonder Woman has posed:
With the robotic construct grabbed hold of by the neck via the length of golden glowing rope known as the Lasso of Truth, Diana ducks past another sonic blast from one of the other machines before she begins to spin the first one she has tied-up. By its neck, Wonder Woman starts to twirl the Construct around and around, at high speeds she begins to spin, using the machine as a weapon to attempt to slam into the other two!

From the outside, at the rate at-which Wonder Woman is spinning, the golden lasso would turn into more of a glowing disc of fluttering energy moving around in the sky as she tries to whirlwind the other two firing upon her into a smashing good time with their roped-up friend!

Lex Luthor has posed:
Kara has no problems grabbing the Hunter cyborg, and tossing it into the ground. She's far faster than they are, even with the thrusters, and it silently slams down into the road, leaving a small crater. It looks like it's reorienting itself inside... and she can see a telltale shimmering around it when it lands. Of course, with her attention on the cyborg, the other two go in for the 'kill' while Supergirl is distracted, firing their sonic cannons this way and that as they continue to try to disable her.

Diana also has no problems with keeping the Peacekeepers roped. Of course, the Peacekeepers are fairly decent flyers themselves, so they keep circling around Wonder Woman as she uses the other of their number as a wrecking ball. Still, after the third round, Diana does manage to hit one... then the other, and she too can see the slight shimmering pop up around their bodies as they hit. Electrical sparks fly from the hit, but the kinetic force of the attack does throw them off, leaving them a bit less coordinated, and easier to hit with each successive whirlwind.

The Peacekeeper in her Lasso also flares it's shield... but the shimmering is growing visibly weaker each time it hits one of it's team.

Buffy also starts to see the shimmering as she starts to hit vital parts, electrical sparks flying from the impacts. Still, there are tense movements from each as she manages to do a bit of damage each time. She's starting to wear down the Riot-Class Peacekeeper.

Millicents sword also hits a shimmering shield... only for the Peacekeeper to *SLAM* into the Command Center, head first. It clearly wasn't expecting Millicent to sidestep it, and it looks stunned for a moment.

Supergirl has posed:
This time, however, Kara was a little more aware of the situation. And the weapons that the cyborgs can bring to bear. As Diana does her thing with her lasso, the blonde Woman of Steel darts to one side midair, her focus entirely on the cyborgs again.

She was just grateful there wasn't kryptonite being thrown around - but why did she have a sinking feeling in her stomach around Lex's bodyguards? Mysteries on mysteries.

Her defensive flying put her a little off balance, so when she goes in to grab one of the remaining two cyborgs - hoping to grab him from behind and everything - she was a little sloppy about it.

Free Lancer has posed:
With an opponent stunned, Millicent doesn't hesitate to drive the advantage home. She half steps around, going for an elbow strike to the side of the peacekeeper's noodle bucket before passing around behind. From there, she kicks after the cyborg's knee to try and ground it for what's to come. That big sword passes once over it's head, so she can grab the thing halfway up the blade. That big sword halfsworded, she drives it down at whatever weak spot she can find there. Grunting with effort as she tries to use every bit of extra leverage the bigger blade offers her.

Incidentally this isn't the sort've thing you get taught in HEMA schools of course, nor even learn from period texts. This is fighting dirty, or near enough. The sort've practical malice that comes with real experience, and who has legit swordplay experience these days outside of a select few right?

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers continues to pummel her cyborg, tirelessly hacking and slashing at its limbs until it hopefully stops moving. "Okay, that should put you in your place. I suppose you're mostly salvageable..Brain and heart still intact but.." she shivers, "Can I just say how very creepy this whole thing is?" she takes a moment to peer around at the others, searching for any other earthbound peacekeepers she can cause damage to.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Once the Robotics are visibly being worn down by the spinning attack, Diana ceases the spin and uses the unbreakable golden lasso to pull the one she has by the neck right back toward her at tremendous speed and in one graceful draw of her sword, she slashes for its wasit to sever its legs from its torso and leave it in two distinct halves. Her shield is then used to powerfully bash it before she leans forward and picks one of the other two machines to fly toward, sword strikes aimed for its shoulders, hoping to sever arms from torso!

Lex Luthor has posed:
"They're not meant to be hijacked this way. The people inside are locked in." Lex replies to Buffy, "it was perfectly timed. Most of the Peacekeepers were asked for the test, and our opponents took advantage of their being out of a controlled situation to take control." As Lex speaks, Buffy manages to break the limbs with her own abilities... effectively disabling her Riot-Class Peacekeeper. Still, she would have noticed the movements were sluggish near the end... maybe they tire?

"There's a transmitter on the backs of these ones that looks like they're driving them remotely. It'll be small, between the shoulder blades. It seems to be where their commands are coming from." Lex informs them.

Kara manages to grab her Cyborg, with the other one coming around to her back for another sonic attack. The one on the ground gets it's bearings and starts to fly back up into the fight after Supergirl.

Millicent, for her part, finds very little purchase with the elbow to the brain, the metallic /tink/ heard throughout the area... but the sword /SLAMS/ into the shimmering, electrical sparks flying as it tries to keep Millicent from driving into the back of the shoulder. It's efforts are all focused on it's arms moving backwards and gripping the body of that blade, trying to keep it from going further... and doing a decent job at it, for now.

Up in the air, Diana's whirlwind has weakened the cyborg enough that her sword swing hits armor... before it simply cleaves right through, severing the torso clean. Some sort of synthetic fluid and sparks can be seen spilling out from both ends as the disabled cyborg starts to fall to the ground, completely powerless... with the other cyborgs now trying to get out of the way of that sword , having been put on the defensive!

Buffy, with a bit of effort, manages to disable her cyborg, the arms and legs torn apart and shredded at the weakpoints, the remnants at the shoulder and hips joints still moving vislbly as they try to regain their footing.

Free Lancer has posed:
Theres a growl of a distinctly almost beastial nature, those ghost lights flaring in the eye sockets on her helmet. That blade twists, glowing brightly for a moment as it's shape dissolves in a puff of smoke. From that smoke, well one blade is still jammed in place thats for certain. It just transformed from an enormous two handed zweihander, to a pair of slender short swords. Her off hand flips that spare shortsword around to an icepick grip, before jamming it into the cyborg's elbow in an effort to free one hand.

Then she all but dives on the blade, ramming the opposite blade as deeply as she can with the addition of her own bodyweight. "This is over, Verstehen Sie?"And well you know she's getting aggrivated when the German back out, trying to end this fight as swiftly and cleanly as possible for sure.

Supergirl has posed:
With the other two cyborgs responding, Kara drags the one she grabbed earthward, turning her back to the others so as to use herself as a shield against the others. "If you can hear me at all in there," she tells the cyborg she grasps, her hair whipping in the wind as she backpedals away from the others.

Down her free hand reaches - to find the thrusters, to find the sonic gun, if they weren't attached to a vital part of it. "I'm sorry," she adds. And with that, she tugs out the thrusters, with the intent of disarming the cyborg's weapon and mobility. Before swooping low and dropping it near the others with a solid push into the ground.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, "Sorry, whoever is locked in this dreaded suit. Hopefully we can get you fixed up soon." she picks up the cyborg, searching for the transmitter thingy between the shoulder blades and makes a face. "Wish I knew this sooner. Would made things easier. Oh well." she rips it out and brings the Borg back to Alex's vehicle. "Where do you want this? Hopefully you can fix em up." in the end she drops it with the others, following Kara's lead.

Wonder Woman has posed:
The machines are on the defensive, Diana is on the offensive. She'll swipe her sword through the body of the one, and then turn to pursue the next. A sonic blast clips off of her shoulder which causes her to drop several meters in the sky before she regains her composure and sweeps back up high again to pursue the one who'd fired at her. Her javelin is pulled from her back as she soars upward toward it, coming up before it to cut off its course, she swipes with her sword to make it dance out of the way then sends the javelin straight out at the machine's 'stomach' to try to penetrate its body and skewer it on her Themysciran warspear.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Supergirl actually finds a bit of resistance to the limbs being ripped out at first... their moorings are pretty well dug in. Still, the Woman of Steel is far stronger than even these Hunters, and she pulls the arm cannon and the thrusters out, sending that cyborg into freefall down to the command center as it simply /drops/ from the weight of it's chassis. The other two? They continue to silently engage from afar, using the brief few seconds it takes to rip the limbs apart to go to high blast with their own sonic cannons. Those /HURT/.

Buffy finds the cyborg weighs /hundreds/ of pounds, so it's less carrying and more dragging it. "Anywhere nearby the vehicle is fine. My people can handle picking up the parts." Lex says over the loudspeaker.

Millicent caught the Peacekeeper completely by surprise with that sword switch out, and easily jams the sword into the elbow. The other sword jams into the transmitter on the back... and after a few moments, cracks in half.

Millicents Peacekeeper goes completely limp as it's commands are cut off.

Diana, meanwhile, is having a field day with severing torsos! The swords target flies true, and it, too, falls to the ground, sparks and fluid spilling out as it drops.

The one with the Javelin? It tries to dodge out of the way, with it going through the side easily. It isn't a stomach hit... but it certainly seems to have seriously damaged it, even with the armor, and it starts to fly around wildly as the Peacekeeper begins to go out of control.

Free Lancer has posed:
Rolls to her boots with a huff, kicking the cyborg over onto it's back for a double check before she seems satisfied. Immediate threat handled, she takes a moment to scan the field for any other immediate threats. All but casually indeed she swings around to place herself right back into the probable line of advance if the cyborgs want to get at Lex. She is getting paid to protect the guy afterall, right?

She gives those short shorts a flourish before oncemore they vanish in a cloud of smoke, changing from simple short stabby things into a single proper longsword. "And they say you can't hire a good Swiss Mercenary anymore, ja?"

Supergirl has posed:
Of course she would. Double with the fact that her back was to the other cyborgs. Off comes the arm. Then one of the thrusters, her features twisting in a look of mild horror at what she was doing. But that had come with a cost.

She had been shielding the cyborg with her own body, because she suspected that the other two wouldn't hesitate to shoot through it to get to her. Finally dropping the cyborg she has, she cries out, cape fluttering in the wind as she falls Earthward - and lands, in the soil, her knee driving into the dirt so much it makes a mini-crater - soil exploding around her at her landing.

But she wasn't falling. Not yet. In fact, she was hoping that the other two cyborgs would try to close the distance. Close enough to breathe out a cloud of icy fog, hoping to catch one of the remaining two unawares with her ice breath.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana continues her dance with the Robotik that pulled itself out of the stab of her javelin. She waits for it to gain some distance before she throws the javelin right at it again, fully expecting it to evade the pole weapon because her true attack comes in the form of her lunging with her sword swiping down toward its hips to try to cut into its mid section as she had the other, but this one more of a downward angled cut that will take at least one of its legs off should she strike it solid and true. With the javelin through, her freed-up hand is moving to her back to pull her shield off of her harness once more and bring it around to brace herself from any follow up attack should the machine survive her onslaught.

Lex Luthor has posed:
One actually does close in for melee... with the other one coming in from the opposite side. The ice breath catches one... which begins to fall to the ground, right next to Millicent. It looks like it's slowly breaking out, but it's completely disabled, for now. Easy prey for Millicent to go for the transmitter.

The other one, however, is going full boor right into Kara's back, the strength amplifiers in the arms maxed out as it goes for a hard punch from both arms.

Diana, meanwhile finds that without control, the javelin easily impales through the torso... and that sword strike finishes the job. Yet another Peacekeeper falls.... and her line of sight is clear.

Free Lancer has posed:
She plays it cool, the thing's in ice and thats enough to give her plenty opening. Indeed she steps away, giving that halberd a flourish to get it moving. Then in a single silky smooth motion, she gets right to it. That blade hurtles upwards with an audible whistle, before she brings the pick of that poleaxe down with as much force as she's capable of. Driving it for that weakpoint with supernatural accuracy, before tilting her helmet to peer after Kara and her own battle.

"Good instincts, but watch your corners dear. You need to be more aggressive, action always trumps reaction."And presuming she's delt with the frozen one, well she'll get right back after it. Scrambling to get a line on the one Kara's currently dealing with, and it's juicy weak spot. Lex is gonna get his money's worth at this rate.

Supergirl has posed:
The cyborg wouldn't manage that punch. Twisting in place, her body aching in protest, that heavy punch comes in, and painfully, Supergirl rises again, turning towards the oncoming robot...

To stand in front of that punch would be suicidal, even for her. She sidesteps it. A step to one side, the mud sticking to her little skirt and knees, her hand coming up not to catch, but to grab at the arm of the cyborg as it barrels past, twisting in place as she hopes to use the momentum and the being's own forward force to break that powerful robotic arm.

At least, that was her intention.

Soil was falling like rain around her, her eyes glancing towards Millicent across the way at what was said. "What do corners even mean!" she says, voice sounding a bit breathless from the rattling the sonic weapons had given her.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Millcent has no trouble with breaking the transmitter with her accuracy and that sword... and it, too, goes limp. There's a small graveyard of Peacekeeper parts around Millicent by this point.

Kara, meanwhile, actually manages to juke around the punch, the Peacekeeper starting to bring it's legs up and around to try for a head grapple.

Or it was, before Supergirl grabs that robotic arm in a firm grip. Instead, the Peacekeeper tries to twist it's torso around to grab at her neck.

Seems like it's going for a headlock.

Supergirl has posed:
And this cyborg, well... while Kara could probably outpower him under most conditions, she was still rattled. Still weak. But she brings her arm up to resist the legs coming around to capture her headlock, still controlling the arm she had managed to snag.

Fingers of her right hand grasp tighter and tighter around the leg, deforming the metal there. One of the legs was touching her neck, but the other... Supergirl had her left arm raised, fist towards the sky, and was resisting the squeeze there. The Kryptonian was shaking with the effort of that resistance, pushing back from that awkward motion.

And she opens her mouth, releasing a shout of effort as she does so. But so far - her arm quivers. The leg doesn't manage to come in and choke her - but neither does she push it entirely away.

Free Lancer has posed:
She's quick despite the armor, surging around the entangled pair. She leaps, twisting mid air as she half turns to drive the point at the top of that halberd fourth in a blur aimed at that familar weak spot. Then she's back on the dirt, sliding to a stop as she holds that halberd high above her head. Not so much as breathing hard, but well the armor does make it tough to tell.

"You know it's general policy to never do anything for free, but we're comrades now I suppose. So when this is over, how about you come find me ja?"Rising slowly back up to her full height with a flourish of that halberd. "Good instincts and raw power only go so far, you'd benefit from formal instruction."those ghostly wolf eyes surveying the field for more targets, if there are any.

Lex Luthor has posed:
With Supergirl holding the Peacekeeper in place, Millicent has a clear angle on the transmitter... though she almost mises it by the sheer tug of war taking place.

A moment after it's hit, Supergirl can feel the cyborg go limp in her grip.

"That's all of them coming this way. There are more that escaped, but we lost track of them when they went underground." Lex states over the loudspeakers, "Men, secure the components and the Peacekeepers. Transport is coming to bring them back to the project headquarters."

The Team Luthor personnel who were the last line of defense start to move out and collect what they can, bringing them over to the flatbed truck. "The rest will be tougher to find. I suspect this isn't over."

Supergirl has posed:
When the cyborg goes limp, Kara's hand was able to push the leg dramatically away from her. So in that moment the cyborg goes limp, she pushes the leg away with such violence as to threaten to break it if not for the sturdiness of the design, Supergirl breathing heavily as she glances up towards Millicent. "There's another one. There were three," she tells her, hurriedly, her eyes searching the skies.

Another moment. "I'm Supergirl. And you wouldn't be the first one to tell me that," she says to Millicent, a little bit of terse wryness at the edge of her lips.

Once she can tell the third was down, she brings up her hand, to brush her wayward blonde hair out of her eyes. "...Lex Luthor!" she calls out, cupping her mouth. "I want to know who these people are... and what you've done to them!"

Free Lancer has posed:
"I know who you are dear, hard not to."She offers Kara a gauntleted hand up, if she wants it. "Don't fight under a name, but they're calling me the Free Lancer."Theres a smirk there, behind that mask surely. "Love the boots by the way, it's a good look for you."Theres a little shrug there finally, before resting that pole axe back against her shoulder. Glancing over towards Lex and the boys, but well she wasn't being paid for clean up now was she?

"At least it's not raining, ja? Some are always bound to escape from a rout, such is the nature of a brawl when we've no appropriate team work."And another little shrug, content indeed to stand around get paid it would seem.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"These people are LexCorp employees who volunteered for a cyborg body conversion in exchange for a second chance at life. Every single one of them signed a contract with us to join our security forces." Lex explains over the loudspeaker, "Once they're rebuilt, you can ask them yourself, if you want. I'd be happy to show you the work we're doing."

A moment later, and Lex is stepping out of the command center, Hope and Mercy behind him... and Luthors Kryptonite ring with it's lead cover on. Supergirl will not be afffected by it.

"Good work, mercenary. I'll be sure to keep you in mind for future engagements." Lex offers in compliment to Millicent.

Supergirl has posed:
The compliment to her boots has her eyes glancing downwards, her shoulders untensing just a bit. A long sigh out, and she looks back up to Millicent. "Thanks," says Supergirl, "...Free Lancer," she says, her head canting just a little bit to the side. "...and right now, you are freelancing for Lex Luthor?" she asks of her, a faint note of disapproval in her tone.

"Once they're rebuilt?!" Kara says. "They're people! They have brains and hearts in there," she says, gesturing back. "And we just pummelled them halfway across the countryside," she says. "I know you wouldn't have let this go public like you did unless you were desperate..."

Up comes her arms, to fold over her front. A strong stance. The two bodyguards were barely given a glance, her eyes for Luthor. "So what's really going on here?"

Free Lancer has posed:
"Thankyou sir, it a pleasure to work with you and your excellent staff."Theres a little nod there, but she's not exactly rushing to get in between Lex and Supergirl either. A kryptonian was pushing the bounds of that particular contract, even for her. "And please I'm a body guard, Mercenaries are banned under UN charter of course."

"If they're legal, I will protect them for a fee. It's not my place to judge, I'm no officer of the law nor do I care to be one."Theres another little nod towards Lex there. "If you feel my client has broken the law, then this matter is best referred to the police. I'd remind you, Mr.Luthor is still under my protection for another..what two hours?"Glancing towards Mercy, who she expects to know off hand exactly when the contract ends.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Yes, rebuilt... because a good number of them have had their bodies destroyed during this engagement." Lex states, with a tone that screams 'isn't it obvious?' before he raises a brow to Kara, his hands behind behind his back as he steps forward. "They're humans under all the mechanical components. If they didn't have the conversion, modern medical science would not have been able to save their lives. This was their only option for living. It's a simple choice really... though I admit some chose death over the procedure."

He shrugs, then, "they weren't due to be released to public employment for at least another month... but it doesn't matter now. We still have rogue Peacekeepers on the loose, being controlled... the six Peacekeepers still free of control are back at the project HQ now, and I need to get back soon for a comparison."

Millicent, for her part, gets a reply from Hope. "Two hours and ten minutes." Hope was the one who negotiated Millicents contract. She would know.

Supergirl has posed:
"I don't think they signed up to attack the city," Supergirl states to Luthor, the way the man speaks seeming to cause her more consternation, if her pursed lips and intent stare were any indication. This whole thing sat badly with her, and she /knew/ Lex wasn't telling her something about how this attack started.

"...being controlled by who?" she asks, tilting her head forward. She didn't expect an honest answer from the man.

Her eyes flicker back to him. "I'm not going to hurt him. I'm not a bully. And right now... he doesn't deserve it. If these people were 'programmed' against their will, I might have more words for him," she says to Millicent.

One last sharp look towards Lex, and Kara bends her knees, scuffed boots and all, before launching herself in the air, to take back off towards the city. With any luck, she'd only be a few minutes late to her next class!

Free Lancer has posed:
Silence from Millicent, once it's clear her part of in this little argument has been satisfied. "Fly safe dear, you fought very well today."Offered genuinely indeed, before well theres not much to do but watch Kara speed away for a moment.

"Sir, I'm going to change back into my street clothes. If you'll excuse me, I'll be right back ja?"And well, off she goes. Strolling through strewn wreckage as if it were daisies, humming sold old tune as she goes. Just another day in the life, as it were.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Clean yourself up, then come to the Limo. I have work to do at the HQ." Lex states clearly to Millicent. Mercy opens the Limo as it drives up, and into the back moves Lex, Hope just a few seconds behind.

Inside the Limo, Lex frowns, "I want all the data from the test in my office by tomorrow. This was triggered from /somewhere/, and I want to know who." Hope nods, already taking out her laptop as she starts the transfer, "And get the CEO for Lex News Network on the line. We're going to need to release a press statement about this. We need to know who took control before this blows up completely."
