Daniel Osborn has posed:
It's  awarm, pleasant sunny afternoon in New York City, Central Park is busy as always, no surpris athere. Among th apeople, though distant from them, is Oz, taking a break by...practicing archery. Using trees as targets, he's got his bow, practicing shooting them at long distances. And he's always careful to b afar enough away from anybody that h awon't hurt anyone, and facing away from th amajority of people. He's pretty good, hitting almost all his shots at a larg adistance, of cours athes aar anon-moving targets. Given it's busy, he's never far enough away from peopl athat peopl awon't se ahim. H aseems to b arather enjoying himself as well, he's certainly got a smil aon his face, and h alooks rather in th azone.

Rift has posed:
But something weird happens when the latest arrow is nocked. Right as you release - a red line of light appears in that same distant corner of the park as a portal tears open... and the arrow goes right through it, as a rather LOUD feminine shriek sounds from the portal. A female figure flies out of the portal, glowing red and looking rather eerie, clutching the arrow, looking around, then sees one person with a bow. Gritting her teeth, she points at you. "What do you THINK you're doing?" she shrieks. "You almost shot me in the face!" The portal starts to close as she's clutching the arrow still.

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz's eyes widen in horror as he slings his bow over his back. "I'm sorry!" he says, definitely horrified to see that. "But to be fair the portal wasn't there when I let go of the string..." He sighs, frowning. "I didn't mean to, but you have to admit it wasn't my fault."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua frowns softly. "I always portal out here - this part of the park isn't used." She descends and lands on the ground next to you, eyebrow raised. On closer look, the strange glow she has is even more curious. It looks like her entire body, clothing and all, is glowing dull red - her eyes glow bright red, and there are visible glows inside her chest, head, arms, and legs. "I... I guess so. I just opened this portal... and suddenly this high-speed arrow comes flying out of nowhere and almost takes my head out - and did punch a hole in my Star Wars poster..." She shivers softly. "I got scared and panicked."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz looks at her, frowning. "I'm really sorry," he says. "I don't usually come here, hell, before now I didn't even know you existed. Please don't be afraid of me, though, I don't shoot arrows at people for fun or anything like that." He offers a smile, holding out his hand. "I'm Oz, by the way."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods slowly. "Yeah - I guess so." She hands it back to you. "You can call me Rift." She shakes your hand. "I just got scared." She sighs softly. "If I was mad at you, you'd know. Something like this." She gestures, and as yous tart to glow faintly red - you'd start feeling heavy. VERY heavy. Like you suddenly weighed several hundred pounds. Only for a moment, before it fades. "But I've heard of people meeting in weirder fashions that became good friends."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz's eyes widen when he starts to become heavy. "What did you do?" he asks, clearly surprised. He can tell Rift isn't her real name, a super hero name of some sort, which really doesn't surprise him given her nature, but he doesn't comment on that, simply smiling. "Very true," he says. He slips the arrow back into his quiver and smirks slightly. "Long as you don't open a portal into the path of an oncoming arrow I won't shoot you in the face again." It's pretty clear he's just joking, of course.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles faintly. "For a few seconds, you experienced intense gravity. That's my power - I can control gravity. Of course - I can control it in both directions." She starts to float up a few inches, then starts to rotate until she's upside down, floatnig at your eye-level. Oddly, her hair doesn't fall down but stays put on her shoulders. "See? To me, 'up' is toward the ground and 'down' is toward the sky."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
"That's so strange," Oz says, "but that looks so fun." He looks at her, having a hard time believing what he's seeing, but it still looks so cool at the same time.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles softly. "Yeah... people have said it can be disorienting." She turns back around and lands again. "Anyway. Mutants don't seem to bother you much... good to see that not everyone's racist." She smiles faintly as she moves to sit on a bench.

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz follows, moving to sit beside her. "Oh trust me, mutants are no big deal to me. I'm a werewolf." He smiles, turning to get a good look at her. "Though at first glance you do kinda look like a demon..."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Yeah, I've heard that." She then blinks. "Wait, what?" she finally asks. "A werewolf? Really?" she asks, blinkblinking. "Like - seriously, you can just turn into a wolf or some kind of hybrid, or is it only during full moon?" She peers with interest.

Daniel Osborn has posed:
"I promise you don't want to see me turn," Oz says, immediately. "I lose all my humanity. I know of a mutant who's wolflike, never met her but I have heard of her on the news and stuff, I'm nothing like that." He turns his face up and looks at the afternoon sky, pondering the clouds, or something like that, but still listening.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Yeah - werewolves in fiction are either... awesome or scary. There isn't much middle ground between them." She nods slowly. "I won't mention it again -but what's it like? I mean..." She trails off. "Nevermind. I guess you trying to explain what it's like would be like me trying to explain what shifting gravity is like."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz looks at Rift, stroking his chin. "Imagine...imagine you're awake, right, actually, hold on. Say you're in a car, but you're not driving. You're a passenger, you can see what's going on, you can feel the car moving, but you can't control it. That's what it's like being a werewolf, except that car is completely wild, attacking and killing people, and you can't do anything to stop it. I don't transform anymore." Not on the full moon anyway, but he has no idea yet that super strong emotions will cause him to transform, he hasn't gone through anything that horrible just yet.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Understandable. That'd be a terrible burden to carry." She just pats your shoulder. "Sorry to hear that." She then looks around - and with a breath suddenly she stops glowing. She just looks like a normal teenage girl now with dyed red hair if you ignore that her eyes are red too. "Just - was getting really hungry and I should go get some food."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
"Whoa, you stopped glowing," oz says, surprised. "Food is good," he says. He still seems rather confused as to why she suddenly stopped glowing...

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles faintly. "I let go of my powers for now. It helps me to look normal. With sunglasses, nobody could tell I'm a mutant - but I also can't shift gravity till I turn it on. You said my form looks a bit demonic - you seem like you can handle it. Some normal people - not so much."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz nods. "You got sunglasses?" he asks. He's definitely quite impressed with her abilities, sort of wishing he could do taht with his werewolf side, just shift when he wanted without losing his humanity, but he sets that asside, there might be ways, but he can look into those later.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods as she slides them on. "Yeah - I keep them handy. BUt it takes me a few moments to 'turn them back on' - and if someone sneak-attacked me while I wasn't glowing - they could really do some damage."

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz nods. "Okay, I'll keep an eye out for you," he says. "Though hopefully you won't get attacked out here." He looks around, half shrugs, then looks back up at the sky again, but he's also focusing his other senses, just in case, though he's not expecting anyone.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "Besides - when I'm holding my powers- it's like I have a clenched fist in my mind - it is... relaxing... to just let go a bit, and be... normal." She then smiles. "I'll go get hotdogs." With that, she skips off towards the hotdog stand.

Daniel Osborn has posed:
Oz seems tempted to follow her, but she's gone before he can complete the thought, so he smiles and waits patiently on the bench, looking up at the sky and relaxing, meditating for a while as he waits for her to come back.
