Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Mila Mitchell, Mercy Thompson, Overlord

Mila Mitchell has posed:
"My name is Mila Mitchell, and I am a mutant," says a voice over the visuals of Mila walking among the crowd, shoulders raised, head sunk and tilted downward, glancing left and right at the people who look around, confused. "It was bad enough that I developed sonic powers in an incident that was on the news. Now I also have this voiceover that follows me around, and that everyone can hear."

In fact, this particular voice is not a cinematic device, it is literally a disembodied voice that everyone around Mila can hear.

"My teachers say that I can control it, if I want, I just need to relax and take it easy..." says the voice, as Mila takes her fingers to her temples and closes her eyes, eventually sighing and letting her shoulders slump, "...but I'm too tired right now. The life of a new mutant does not leave me much leeway; free time is usually taken care of at the mansion already, and special permissions are needed to go out alone, so I'm taking this opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, and have a look at the surroundings."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Outside her garage, Mercy Thompson is sweeping the sidewalk. Sweep, sweep sweep, she's got her broom in hand and is making sure her little bit of the city is nice, tidy and orderly. Sure, she won't ever get the oil stains out by sweeping....but dust and things will get swept away. Which is good. Mercy's wearing her coveralls today, and pauses swweeping to look unimpressed at a baked in oil stain....then shakes her head again. "See. This is what I get for running my shop" she says to herself, sounding cheerful despite it all. "I run my shop, I deal with what happens"

Mila Mitchell has posed:
Mila Mitchell is engaging in a mental fight with the voiceover now. "I had never been around these parts," says the disembodied voice, "An interesting neighborhood, to say the least. I admit I do have a sweet spot for facades with brickwork on sight..." The volume raises, lowers, raises, lowers, with the the intensity of Mila's frown. "Curse you, voiceover. You're too tenacious, and I'm too tired to silence you. Hmmm. Let's see," mumbles the real Mila, "Let's see if I can somehow... /change/ you into something more harmless.

Instead of a change of volume, this time a musical track sneaks under the voiceover. "Ok," continues Mila. "Now, to raise the volume until it /overcomes/ the voice..."

Unfortunately for Mila, her plan does not quite succeed. All she manages to do is merge the music and sound into a singing number as she skips along.

"...I love the outdoors / the windows and doors / the water drans are cool too-"
(silence)

(Music resumes)

"summer's around / enjoyment abounds / and pigeons skip, fly, and coo-"

(The music picks up, and becomes catchier, probably getting into the chorus)

"A fishmonger sells caviar / And the potter's door's ajar / and I think that in that shop some-one is going to fix a car..."

"It's got hubcaps, gears, a coil / a baked-in stain, looks like oil / that is what you get if it's too hot and your blots be-gin to boil...."
The note on the "boil" part is kept very long.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy hears the singing and....in her own powerful if off-key way, joins in backing Mila on vocals. She's even sweeping in time to the song. Atta girl, 'yote. She's singing along too, even if....she's wondering if Mila's noting down West Harlem. Still...Mercy's dancing along happily too, wondering if magic's afoot. If so she's letting it take her along for the ride as she twirls and skips too though she's dancing in a small area outside her shop really. "Oh it's a wrench/wielded by a wench/who is a coyote/who fixes cars with steering that is floaty!" she sings, joining in now in her own small way.

Mila Mitchell has posed:
Mila Mitchell supposes that's a way to deal with embarrassment. Pretend it's Broadway instead of West Harlem, and act natural. As if someone was filming a musical episode of... something. She does multiple pirouettes, passes by the woman who seems to be singing, and stops next to a beetle under repair. "That's a nice frame / really, a shame / that it doesn't run anymore..." She pirouettes back to Mercy, and extends one hand to shake. If she succeeds, there will be one shake, very obvious and visible, before she continues, "Mila's the name / this I proclaim / and you must run this here store..."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes the hand and carries on singing, sliding....yes, actualy..../sliding/ on her knees over to the Beetle. "It's needing new spark plugs/How much oil? Few glugs/The pistons are cracked and broken/The mechanic's diagnoises has spoken/I am Mercy, the wrench waver/To repair this car is a favor" she sings too and climbs on the Beetle....like she's in Grease. The music picks up as she poses there and then rolls off of it and lands on her feet. It's hard to sing in mid roll....but Mercy's dancing over to the broom again. Somehow this all seems totally normal for a walkr. She's sure somewhere, her father's watching and approving of her singing and dance moves.

Mila Mitchell has posed:
Mila Mitchell pirouettes while standing, following up to Mercy rolling off. "A mechanic, hey, that's swell / I've no car, yet, but might as well / get one soon and then it will be good to know who knows the craft" On the same melody, "That's a useful thing to know / if my lights are turned too low / or should shredded shrapnel shavings fashion gashes my shaft..." She stops to lean against the car, and continues, "Those cars are all chock full of parts / I never can tell them apart / I'll take the blame to my full shame I can't tell things within that frame" She looks into the engine compartment (on the back, of course, this being a bug), and continues, "Is that a valve or a banana peel / wait, an air filter... or a spare wheel / a radiator, a carburetor, an alternator, man am I lame..."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods and twirls a wrench. "That's a crankshaft, you're not so daft. There's springs and valves and levers and...." she says picking up the melody and reeling off parts. "You got gears and levers and wheels and clutches, you got pistons and valves and springs. Oh that's a lot of things/There's a million parts to a Bug. They all fit neatly on a rug" she sings and looks amused. then twirls her way into the shop proper motioning for Mila to follow. "There's oils, lubricants, antifreeze, and axle grease. Fixing up cars/it's a matter of ease. I can do tires and shocks and gas and go. I just roll with it, I go with the flow" Mercy sings as she nods to Mila, then climbs on a tool cabinet and waits for Mila to sing the next part.

Mila Mitchell has posed:
Mila Mitchell climbs on either the same tool cabinet if there's room, or a nearby piece of furniture at the same height if not, while the background soundtrack continues, no, picks up even. Mila has grabbed a screwdriver on her way there, and now, holding it upside down like a microphone, she resumes, "Just mechanics, I know, but I find it quite tough / rocket science it ain't, but it is close enough / it's the mix of C-6 and H-6 then some tricks, it inflicts on my head as do sticks..." The background track goes almost silent, except for quiet piano and strings, and very light drums, getting more melancholic, "'bout mechanisms I'm very green / I'm baffled by every machine / including those who lie in repose and their motion amounts to nix" The last part drives on, as the drumbs beat rhythmically and incrase in volume. She turns to Mercy to look at her. "Y'know, we make quite a strange pair," as she turns abruptly to face Mercy, the whatever thing she's standing on wobbles, and she jumps off it, onto a different piece of furniture, "Thanks the heavens for this chair!" She turns to Mercy again, "By the way, don't worry, nay, about the soundtrack from nowhere"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy jumps off thre tool chest and holds a wrench like a microphone and is singing about her garage. "Oh it's just a garage in West Harlem/that services old German cars/it's the best in the area/by far" she sings, twirling the wrench as she does a hair flip and carries on, rapping now. Who knew the 'yote could rap. "I'm a mechanic/you're in a panic/your car's all broken/and you're in Hoboken/bring it to my shop/your worries/they will stop"

Impressively, she's got a good flow, too. Mercy's...apparently got behind whatever this musical sound thingy is.....because it's fun!

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller decided to come by and see Mercy for a bit. The sound of a motorcycle can be heard begore it is seen. And soon there is a rather large Harley style motorcycle. It pulls into the garage and over out of the way. the bike's rider is over sized like the bike. He pulls his helmet off, and his shakes his head to let his hair moves back into place. He stands up stepping off the bike, and looks over to Mercy and Mila, starting to say something but at the music and singing he stops, and looks at the two ladies without saying anything.

Mila Mitchell has posed:
Mila Mitchell continues on the same rap, except switching it to a triplet scheme with an abrupt halt every third line, complete silence for a moment: "I told ya, no wagon / no way I can drag in / a vehicle for you to mend" *silence* Mila turns to John, and stares at the newcomer. She exclaims in surprise, and worry, "By all engineers / a new guy appears!", utterly embarrassed at having been caught in the middle of a musical number, she turns to Mercy and asks, but *still* followin the rap track, "I really hope that he's your friend?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy carries on the rap Mila started. "Look it's a bike/with my man/who wants to go camping in a van" she raps, thudding the wrench on the tool chest to create a beat. She's getting into this and then some, nodding to them with a grin. She 's absolutely liking this musical number. Outside she hears a jogger singing about how many steps they've taken and the route.

Overlord has posed:
Joseph Miller looks to the ladies and and opens his mouth closes it and then looks over the Mercy and seems a bit surprised as it comes out "Mercy, hey I came to see you see if you had any luck/ on making a buck./ I went to the closest junk hard/ and though I hunted and saught hard/ I trugged through plenty of muck/ but all I found was a rusted out truck."
