Do You Know Mister Blackthorne
Date of Scene: 24 June 2019
Location: The Hyperion Hotel
Synopsis: Angel and Morrigan meet over a shared connection and start a plan to rid the world of her father.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Angel

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan had actually managed to hunt down someone that had information about her father. And they were staying at the Hyperion. So that's what brings the Irish woman to the area tonight. She's dressed in a finely tailored violet colored business dress and she's carrying her usual traveling bag. There's a moment taken to look down at the card that has the address on it and then back up to the building, "Well this has to be it." she murmurs to herself as she digs into her bag, she manages to knock loose an envelope that was black and inscribed with an elegant script, gold-toned and florid.

She doesn't seem to catch it as she heads for the building. Maybe it's the darkness or maybe it's that she's distracted.

Angel has posed:
Angel is returning to the hotel too, after running some errands, and so he approaches his own structure from the same direction that Morrigan is coming from. The difference, probably, is that he moves quietly, not really on purpose, but still he almost seems to blend with the various shadows that the few streetlamps cast on the sidewalks, his steps almost inaudible. Surely his outfit helps, with a black pair of shoes, black pants, a black and silk shirt with silver buttons and nothing more apart from a leather belt wrapped around his waist. He notices someone heading in the direction of the hotel but doesn't rush to meet them, however, is there something that just fell from their bag? He tries to retrieve the letter, picking up his pace to reach the owner, probably to hand it back...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's red hair gets pushed back as she approaches the doors to the hotel and there's a moment she has second thoughts on the whole situation. She'd already been mauled and she wasn't sure if there was going to be a happy ending to that situation. On the outside to bystanders she looks a bit, worried. And for good reasons. "Come on Morrigan you're braver than this." she whispers to herself as she steps off to the side, not wanting to block the way to the doors.

That's when her violet gaze manages to catch sight of the man that was behind her. "Apologies, I didn't hear you." she states loud enough to where he can hear her. There's just the hint of an accent to her voice.

Angel has posed:
Angel inhales quietly, picking Morrigan's scent, and then scans her from top to bottom with his eyes, while approaching. His right hand moves forward, holding the letter, trying to hand it to her "it happens, but you lost this anyways!" he explains. Then he glances again at her, now himself in full view under a light casting its lighting over the entrance of the hotel "are you looking for someone, miss?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives him a brilliant smile, showing those sharp incisors of hers. But she doesn't really register as a vampire. When she sees the black envelope she gives a look down to her purse and then his hands, "I can't believe I dropped that." she tells him as she reaches out to take it with nimble fingers. "Thank you. I'd have been mad at myself for losing that later." she tells him as she places Mister Blood's letter back in her purse.

Then she looks to the hotel, then back to him, "I am, yes. Just meeting someone for information really." she tells him. "I'm Morrigan." she offers.

Angel has posed:
Angel just nods, his hand releasing the envelope "well as I said it happens. Fortunately, it was here, where it could be easily found" then he extends his right hand in Morrigan's direction "Angel, a pleasure to meet you!" he introduces himself, waiting for an eventual handshake before withdrawing the hand and fishing into a pocket for his keyring, sliding one into the main door's lock "well then, come inside I suppose..." he unlocks the door and opens it wide, flicking the lights on"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a bit of a smile, "Thank you." she tells him. Then she takes his hand and gives a shake, "Nice to meet you, Angel." she states with another smile. Then she's stepping back to allow the door to be opened, "Oh, you own this place?" she asks him. She steps inside and there's a look around, "Well, now I'm hoping I didn't get a bad address, but if so I at least get to talk to someone new." she muses as she puts the card back in her purse.

Angel has posed:
Angel waits for the woman to walk in, before closing the door again and just walking to one of the couches in the hotel's main hall. The structure is, decadent to say the least if seen from outside, and inside it is a bit better, but it shows that not many people live here anymore, maybe just him. "it's mine yes, and, well, unless you're looking for a ghost..." he says "the only person that you will probably find in here is me, or one of my assistants... Who're you looking for anyways, if I may ask?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan looks around and there's a bit of a frown when he asks who she's looking for, "Well, if there's no one else here then I'm definitely getting ghosted." she seems a bit miffed about that. "Someone had information about a person I've been looking for. Wanting to make a peaceful end to things with them." she admits as she looks back to Angel. "The name I was given was Garrett? Occultist and I guess a bit of a vampire tracker." she shrugs as she stuffs the card into her bag. "So you own a hotel but it's not open to the public and you have assistants. Are you a blossoming crime lord or something." she asks him.

Angel has posed:
Angel sinks a bit deeper into the couch, gesturing at it and at various other couches "please feel free to make yourself comfortable." he just says, listening then to the name while his mind tries to elaborate what he knows about all the Garrets, surely the information he has at least about Garret's profession will help!
He recalls names, and it almost seems like he's consulting his own mental guestbook of the hotel, then shrugs "looks like you're in the right place and in the wrong time. Garret, or at least a Garret that was an occultist and a bit of a vampire tracker, was here before the hotel closed, and that means, some decades ago..." he explains "right now, he's appily resting in one of the nearby graveyards, so I don't think he'll be of much help... As for my profession, I am not a crime lord, no, I am a private investigator though..." he pauses, then, looking at the woman a bit more carefully "and what do you need a vampire tracker for?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan moves to the couch he's seated on and takes a seat on it, giving them a bit of space though. She crosses one knee over the other and listens to him explain about Garrett and there's a bit of a headshake, "Great. Wonder why they gave me his name and this address." she muses. "Private Investigators are nice to know though. I had one on retainer, but he got a really heavy case load." she smiles. Then there's a look to him, her violet eyes studying his face, "Well, I'm looking for my father. Haven't seen him since he tore some poor person apart in Central Park and one of my acquaintences decided that shooting first was the best option." she sighs. Thanks Frank!

Angel has posed:
Angel hmms thoughtfully, looking at the ceiling for a couple of seconds, before returning his eyes on Morrigan herself "well, and is your father a vampire?" he bluntly asks, even if his expression remains quite neutral, it's not like vampires are that secret thing anymore, even if they're not even exactly widely known either.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a nod to the man, "Yes, my father is a vampire and I'm half vampire. Though I really got the short end of the stick in that package given I got none of the benefits." she muses to that. "I seem to have made the most of it though. Keep running into Vampires all over the place." she admits. "Do you know anything about them?" she asks him as she looks at him curiously.

Angel has posed:
"Something" Angel just answers the question, and if he actually was someone to smile, he surely would at least internally, she always meets vampires indeed it seems! "A lot of the cases I deal with have to do with, some, supernatural thing or another, vampires included..." he admits, drawing a small sigh "well then, who's your father? Informations about him might help me at least understand if I know him..." if it is on his huntlist, at least...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan is curious now what he /does/ know. But she doesn't outright ask him to spill the beans. "I met one recently, british I think. White blonde hair, really bad addiction to garlic. He's...an odd one." she muses about Spike. "He's got a werewolf for a friend. Seems to be the level headed one." she adds. Then there's a sigh, "My father's name is Lucian Blackthorne, seems to be a real piece of work, but he's not from Dracula's line as far as we can tell, or he didn't seem to know him." she admits. Lucian's almost definitely on a lot of Hunt lists.

Angel has posed:
Angel frowns, shaking his head slightly "Spike..." he mumbles, then frowns even a bit more if it is even possible "I will say, as far as I know, your father is not exactly on Santa's good boys list, hm?" and here he is, earing the name of someone he should indeed hunt, to put a stop to him and his vampiric evilness, or at least that's what he thinks, and talking to his daughter? Quite the moral dilemma, sometimes he almost regrets having a soul...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Oh you know him as well?" Morrigan chuckles. "Think he needs to umm...lay off the garlic." she admits. Then there's a quirk of one elegant eyebrow, "He's not on anyones good list from what I've gathered and given he almost killed me at the start of the year he's not on any lists for being good." she admits with a frown. "I just don't know how to get rid of him, maybe cutting his head off would do the job." she states as she sighs.

Angel has posed:
Angel nods in agreement "yes, well, Spike is, particular, to say the least..." he just says, sighing a bit and closing his eyes for half a second maybe to think, maybe to remember. "oh?" he raises an eyebrow, opening his eyes again and looking at Morrigan, it surely settles his moral dilemma if she wants him dead too! "well, cutting his head off, burning him, driving a stake through his heart... Killing a vampire is not that difficult, after all." he states, sitting himself a bit more straight "and on that, maybe, I could help..."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"He reminds me of a really bad Billy Idol impersonator. But he's been nice when I've run across him. So it's not half bad I guess." Morrigan chuckles about Spike. Then she looks to Angel and there's a nod, "Yeah, he's been continuing to kill and I can't really let that continue. I'm a doctor, but he's not human so..." she wobbles her hand. "I don't want anyone else hurt over it and I figured asking a demon to murder him would be overkill." she states. And nobody wanted to deal with Etrigan really. "How could you help?" she asks him.

Angel has posed:
Angel hmms, and if there's an expression that could be considered close to a smile, that's what it appears on Angel's face right now, even if smiling would be definitely be overstating the facts... "he's a vampire, still without a soul, but with a chip in his head that stops him from making a mess of yo, of humans..." he just affirms, then turns slightly in Morrigan's direction "tracking your vampiric father, and then separating his head from his body, or shooting a wooden stake through his heart, of course..." he just affirms

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"So how do vampires get souls?" Morrigan asks him curiously. "And Spike has a chip in his head? I'll make a note of that in case he goes off the deep end." she admits. Then there's a bit of a smile, "Well, if you'd like to help and you know how to track him then I guess it would be better than me aimlessly trying it, but I'm not wanting someone to kill him for me, I can do that I'm sure of it." she states. "Which means I don't want anyone hurt over it." she adds.

Angel has posed:
Morrigan managed it, somehow, managed to pull a chuckle out of Angel's lips. "they usually don't, well, lets say, one out of a tousand vampires does? Maybe even out of more tousands? But that's cause of rituals, or curses, or cursed rituals..." he admits to the woman, "so not anything that will happen easily, I'm afraid... And for some vampires, I would say, getting a soul is as much a good thing as it is a horrible one... It is, hard, to get all of a sudden all the remorse and pain for centuries of slaughtering, you see..." he almost seems, introspective, on that last part, at least for the careful reader of human emotions. Anyways he quickly gets back on topic "you're a human, you just said, and killing a vampire, especially one like Lucian, is not exactly an easy task you know?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan watches him talk and there's a bit of a moment the overly intelligent woman puts two and two together, but she doesn't point it out. "Well, if a vampire did get a soul and they were murderous and blood thirsty prior to it I guess I could see them being crushed by remorse for a bit." she nods to that. "I'm a human hybrid. Or that's what I've come to calling myself. Dracula likes to call me an abomination. Says I shouldn't have been born like this." she shrugs. "Anyways, just because I'm weaker doesn't mean I want someone to kill for me. I don't mind help, but there's no reason for someone else to do it if I can't." she tells him.

Angel has posed:
Angel shakes his head "the correct sentence would be, you don't mind help, but there's no reason for someone to do something for you if you can do it yourself. If you can't succeed in putting an end to your father's activities, then it makes sense that someone who can do such a thing could at least try..." he again turns his gaze to the ceiling, thinking, formulating ideas. "very well, Morrigan, I will help you track your father and, should we find him, I will assist you in dealing with him. But I can't in all conscience let you get hurt while trying to kill him alone, I don't know if you have the training to deal with a vampire, but I ensure you it is no t an easy task." he pauses, trying to decide what to say next, then he just spits it out "and I don't know you, or, I barely know you, but at least you seem like a nice person, so I could offer at least part of that training to you if you want it, and my personal help in fighting your father too, if you accept it. I, won't" he pauses again "I won't get hurt and if I will, well, it means it's my time..."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
It was the Irish stubborness shining through. She got that in spades from her mother. "Alright, Angel. We'll get something going and hopefully neither of us will die horribly in a quest to rid the world of my dad." she tells him. "We'll probably have help along the way from one person or another, you don't mind others being about do you?" she asks him as she looks to him. "So what do you do in a huge place like this? Just keep it dusted daily?" she asks with an amused look.

Angel has posed:
Angel nods "I don't mind help, of course, as long as it is constructive help." he states. Casting a glance around the hotel, or at least the parts of it that are visible, he shakes his head "I just, well, yes I dust it, but I mainly use it as a base for my investigative agency" and a storeplace for books, weapons, and all he needs for his nightly activities of course, not that he could say it out loud. "I plan to make it into, well, a serviceable hotel too at some point, maybe at least open again part of it to the public, get a source of income apart from my investigative job... But" he shrugs "I should hire someone to repair and restructure a bit, I suppose"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I don't think it would be negative help, but I like to keep what few friends I do have in the loop." Morrigan admits. Then there's a look around the place and a smile, "Well, it has a lot of potential if you get it up and going. Should I retire from Mount Sinai I might see if you want some help in the hotel business." she muses. "And yeah, a handyman might be needed. And if you need a doctor to make house calls I can give you my card." she offers.

Angel has posed:
Angel listens to the various informations offered, namely, her being a doctor, where she works, and the confirmation that indeed it would be good as an hotel if properly redecorated at least! It was a wonderful hotel too, back in the day, fancy, high class... And now, not too different from Angel himself, it's just a shadow.
"I always accept cards" he says, pushing himself to stand from the couch "but I am afraid I will have to leave soon, I have something to attend to tonight..." he admits

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan slips her card case out of her bag and hands a card over to him, "I keep weird hours due to not being in agreement with the sun a lot, so if you need something at night, it's fine." she tells him. Then she stands after he does, smoothing her skirt with one hand and there's a smile to him, "I will take my leave as well. I have a dinner date that I should get to and if I don't show up he'll probably think I've been eaten by something." she muses. "It was nice to meet you, Angel." she tells him as she heads for the door.
