Rogue has posed:
Late evening, Rogue had already come up from the dinner hall and is in her room with the door still open so anyone passing by can look in.

She's seated in one of the chairs in front of the fireplace, there's a tv mounted on the wall above the fireplace and she's just curled up in the chair with her head laying over on the side, she's got a remote control in one hand and a Yeti-cup in the other to keep the ice in her drink colder longer!

She's flipping through the stations, between a UFC fight and the movie Thelma and Louise.

On her desk behind her there's her laptop and a bunch of school work, including stuff for this fall. But nestled amongst it all is..

-- From Magneto
A package in a deep green-wrapped box was sent to Anna-Marie with a tooled gold ribbon. Inside was a handwritten note, reading: 'A striking gift, for a striking woman.' Signed Max Eisenhardt. Inside was a bottle of Jar Bolt of Lightning perfume. It's a scent that mimics the aroma of the area after a lightning strike.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had returned from her most recent visit to Genosha, where her father was still absent from the palace, where ever he was... Lorna had to assume it was for the best. The green haired mutant was attempting to do her best at splitting her time between the two locations, but it was still exhausting none the less. She returned this time with ice cream containers in a bag, making her way to Rogue's room with her bare feet lightly tapping against the hardwood floors. She wore a simple black tank top, and pair of ripped off jean shorts.

Lorna knocked on the door, peering into Rogue's room. "Up for ice cream at all?" She called, before entering should Rogue call an affirmative.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty comes down the hallway, turning the corner just in time to see Lorna turning into the open doorway up ahead. She continues on down that way, moving over to lean against the door jamb behind Lorna assuming she went inside. "I hope that you brought enough for the entire class," she says with a small grin towards Lorna.

"How is everyone tonight?" Kitty asks, giving Rogue a warm smile and a wave. "Anything good on?" she asks as she sees Rogue is camped out in front of the television. "I haven't had much time to watch anything of late," she says with a sigh and a shake of her head. Kitty undoes her ponytail and lets her hair out, itching her fingers through it and down to her scalp once the brown locks are falling loosely.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue leaves it on the UFC match and turns her head back to look at Lorna. "Hey." She says with a drowsy smile before she sees Kitty's presence pop around the corner too. "Ice cream sounds great." She sits up a little higher in her chair and lets her legs drape over and off of the edge of it so her socked feet thud onto the floor in front of the chair.

"Come on in!" She says as she turns in the chair and leans against the arm of it. "I was thinkin' about goin' down t'the campsites tonight, but I don't know, feelin' pretty lazy."

She motions to the tv over her shoulder now and at Kitty's question. "Its all crap." She says then, tossing the remote into the other identical chair next to hers.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grins as she stepped inside to the room at large, making her way over to the desk to set out all the various tubs of ice cream and spoons. "Right, I figured we needed a girls night of ice cream. I've been stressed out beyond belief. My father is who knows where these days.." She muttered and rolled her eyes as she shoved a few stacks of papers off to the side and paused at the sight of the green wrapped box. "Ooh, what's this?" She called, missing the note for now as she glanced back toward the Southern Belle.

Lorna reached for the box in question, shaking it once curiously as she spotted Kitty's entrance to the room. "Hey Kitty, how are you? Stressed like the rest of us? I brought a ton of ice cream, and it looks like Rogue has a rather fancy looking gift."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty moves further into the room, more than happy to take control of the remote once Rogue surrenders it. She pulls up the guide and begins scrolling through looking for something good. "Eh, yeah, a bit stressed. Not as bad as it could be though," Kitty says with a little shrug. She's been around the school a lot more than normal of late. Usually she's in Gotham at least 1/3 of the nights each week, if not more.

She smiles at the mention of the ice cream. "Well of course you can count me in," Kitty says. At the sight of Lorna picking up the box, Kitty's eyes swing to Rogue. From her expression, it's quite likely she's seen the note and checks to see if her friend wants a distraction or something.

Rogue has posed:
"Sounds like a good plan t'me, Greenie." Rogue says back to Lorna as Kitty strides into the room to take up the other chair like the one she's in. "Where's the Purpley One?" She asks of the Dragon, having noticed Kitty being around more lately but not wanting to ask about it just yet... still a bit early to poke around for such a topic.

When Rogue sees the 'look' from Kitty she gives it BACK but more in a mocking way as she hasn't caught up to what its being given to her for...

... Then she looks over to Lorna when she asks about the package and NOW her look catches up. "Oh god." She vocalizes, but quickly tries to catch herself. "Oh, I mean, god. Yeah. That! Hah." Rogue cracks a nervous grin and she stands up, then sticks her non gloved hands into the front pockets on her own jean shorts.

"That is... a... bottle of perfume... Froooom." Rogue glances to Kitty, then back to Lorna. "From your dad! I think he gave them out to a bunch of the students." That makes sense.

Polaris has posed:
There was a beat while Lorna caught the look between Kitty and Rogue, and quirked a brow upward, but didn't really understand why the look was happening to begin with. She hmm'ed under her breath and turned her focus to the box in question, glancing inside, she spotted the note. With an interested, and frankly nosy intent, the greenette reached for the folded note. "Oooh, who's it from?" She teased, and as her gaze fell on the contents of the note and Rogue's halting response followed...

Lorna's jaw dropped, and she stared, her eyebrows shooting upward sharply as she stared and stared at the note. Then glanced back to Rogue in rapid succession. Her lips parted in silence, as she seemed completely and utterly at a loss for words.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty glances between the two women and she offers in support of Rogue's comment he might have given them out to a bunch of the students, "Kind of a good idea, building on the cooperation with everyone here." Kitty glances back to the TV and spots one of those shows where they make swords and things out of metal.

Kitty quickly flips to it. "Hey Lorna, something like this might be neat for the kids," she says. Before realizing, ok, arming the kids with swords MAYBE not the best idea. "I don't mean that spiked mace he's got, but you know, we could take some scrap and teach people how to weld it and forge it and melt it. Maybe a little day long workshop something like that?" Kitty says, looking over to see what Lorna thinks. Or if she's listening.

Rogue has posed:
"Kitty, you got one too, didn't you?" Rogue asks, her voice getting suspiciously more high pitched in that sentnece with every spoken word within it. She keeps her hands inside her pockets up to her knuckles and she puts her stare back onto the very surprised looking Lorna.

"Look." She says. "Its not what ya think. He showed up in the drive that day, when Kitty brought the motorcycles back? You were there, I remember you were there. Ya heard me jokin' around with him. Flirtin' with him like I flirt with... all'a you!" She was lyaing it on pretty thick that day to the older Magneto-man, he's so sexy for being as old as he i--- FOCUS ROGUE.

She shakes her head side to side. "Anyhow, that there box just showed up the next day, or the day after--I don't remember clearly. I ain't even spokne to'im since! Though I really do want t'thank him for it, it was sweet! But... I don't have any idea how t'contact him, cept through you... And, I... doubt you're gonna tell'im, thanks for me... right?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna still looked completely and utterly shocked, she had expected near anyone else to have sent Rogue a gift to have it sitting on her friend's desk. It was still processing in her mind, her father had sent Rogue, a woman younger than she was... a rather flirtatious note and rather expensive looking package of perfume. It seemed to have frankly short-circuited the greenette as she stared, her hand holding the note falling to the side as she stared at Rogue as the woman attempted to explain, with Kitty's help, what was going on.

The higher pitched voice didn't help.

Lorna's brows furrowed sharply, and her grip closed around the note rather tightly, crumbling it in her grip. Her temper flaring, though in what direction it was aimed at currently was hard to say. Lorna closed her eyes, slowly inhaling and exhaling once.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde does her best to keep a straight face. No wincing. No wondering if metal belt buckle, zipper, and eyelet in Rogue's close are all fused together into one piece now. Though actually that would be kind of fun to see. Except for the tragedy of it. Rogue has such an awesome wardrobe.

Kitty clears her throat softly. "Why don't I... scoop out the ice cream!?" Kitty suggests, trying to put a little enthusiasm into her voice. Because everyone like's ice cream right. Kitty moves over that way, though if Lorna is in the way to get the tubs, Kitty will end up waiting for her to move.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks over to Kitty about ten times in ten seconds, looking for help from her frined who's now going to get the ice cream. "I'd love some. Its gotten so hot in here all the sudden, and not in a good way!" Rogue lifts her hands up then out of her jeans pockets to wiggle them palms out in a classic jazz-hands motion to help, alleviate some of the awkwardness in the room, yeah?

She then drops her left hand down to the side of her thigh and motions to Lorna with her right. "Try some on, you probably don't even like the smell and then ya tell him that 'Hey dad... why ya buyin' stanky smelly water for all them hot hot southern hotties up'n my school'n all, daaad?'" She says this in a super awkward sort've way of trying to be casual and hip with the times, and stuff.

Rogue reaches up then to rub the back of her neck and to glance at the tv. "Who turned it from the fight?" She asks. "Those guys were hot A F." And yes, she says the letters A F out loud. Changing the subject is good tactic!

Polaris has posed:
Lorna reached up and pinched the bridge of her nose, Kitty's approach breaking her rather heady struggle with her emotions and cutting the boiling knot that had formed in the pit of her stomach. She shoved the note into the pocket of her jean shorts, her arms crossing into a tight, stand offish position as she shoved herself up against the wall beside the desk, making sure to give Kitty space to get to the ice cream. It was remarkable, but none of the metal in the room jumped. Not even a flicker from the tv happened.

"I'm not angry at you. That would be stupid. You didn't do anything wrong." She bit out. Her lips pursed together as she struggled to get out what she wanted from her constricted throat. Every muscle along her jawline to her shoulders and down was a tense line. Taut as a bow string about to snap.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty practically phases the ice cream out of the container to get it in the bowl fast enough. The spoon makes a tinking sound as the metal is pushed in along the edge of the ceramic bowl. Kitty holds the ice cream out to Lorna, lifted up high enough to make sure it draws her attention. Darn it. Metal spoon. That's like... arming her.

Whether Lorna takes it, or Kitty ends up taking it to Rogue, she hands off the first bowl and then makes two more. "Rogue's good people," Kitty confirms softly to Lorna, backing up her choice not to hold it against the young woman. Kitty gets the other bowls of ice cream ready and distributes them, before going over to to take a seat in the chair, though turned halfway around to keep an eye on Lorna's state.

Rogue has posed:
When Lorna says that Rogue isn't the target of her ire, she visibly relaxes more. "Whew." She says, raising a hand to jokingly/good naturedly stroke the back of it over her forehead. "Thought ya were gonna tear me apart or somethin, like the iron in my blood or whatever. Thats how that works, yeah?" She asks then with a glance over to Kitty who's scooping the ice cream out so fast she looks like Quicksilver practically.

And then Rogue sweeps her stare back onto Lorna, motions toward her again. "Hey, look. Your dad is just... ya know, tryin' t'have fun before life's over. It goes by fast'n all. We're not here very long, right? I mean, he's been here a long... LONG ASS time. But still. He knows what he likes when he sees it, thats something that anyone can say about your dad. Guy's always gone after whatever it is he likes, right?"

She's pretty sure she's not helping and probably needs Kitty to shove a spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna's gaze opened to land on the ice cream that Kitty offered her, she shook her head once at the first offered bowl and as Kitty took it over to Rogue, Lorna kept her position of shoving her shoulders back against the wall. It was only with the event of the second offered bowl, that Lorna accepted it and viciously jammed the spoon into the frozen treat straight to the bowl. It scraped with a sharp sound and Lorna simply more or less continued to stab at the poor ice cream in front of her rather than eating any.

Green eyes lifted toward Rogue and Lorna frowned, "No, that is not how that works. There's not enough iron in your blood to be magnetic at all. What would be more likely is frying your central nervous system." She muttered, and as Rogue continued Lorna's expression darkened.

"My father has lived longer than most people and likely will continue to do so if he doesn't get killed first." She practically snarled. "He is an adult, and he's flirting with one of My. Best. Friends." She grit out between clenched teeth.

"It's //not// okay. It's disgusting. You're younger than I am." She clenched her hand gripping the spoon tightly, and the metal immediately warped around her knuckles with a screech of steel.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde picks up the remote, surprised that the TV is still working. She tunes in one of those all-music channels. This one specializes in quiet, soothing music according to the description. She flips it over there, and a new song is just starting up.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUMAmI5YcBQ

Kitty winces a bit, not what she was hoping for. She leaves it though, picking her ice cream back up. "Well, it could be worse, right? I mean, he could have gone for Mystique or someone like that?" Kitty says, her expression showing she's trying to help. But it took some work to come up with a worse situation, maybe.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has to frown, hard at the central nervous system part. "I like that part of me... its at least in my top five parts..." She says holding the frone as she reaches for the ice cream while Kitty changes the television to that music channel.

Rogue lowers down to sit on the edge of her chair then with the ice cream bowl and the spoon now in her left hand. "I think your dad was just bein' old fashioned. Like how the men used t'treat women back in the olden days, ya know... courtin'em with gifts, rather than how they treat'em today? Just... unzippin' their creepily tight jeans and just whippin' their meat soldier out onta the battlefield..."

A spoonfull of ice cream is raised up and the belle places it into her mouth. She then nods, which makes her white bangs wave against the sides of her face. "Ya know, we could learn a lot about the olden times, back when your dad was around our ages. I mean, except for the sexism, racism and... well, all'a that. There was still some good stuff there, I swear it!"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shot the curled up spoon in her grip a glare, as if it was insulting that it even reacted to her at all. She sighed, disgusted and dropped the ruined spoon back into the bowl full of half melted ice cream and set it back down on the desk. "That's not helping Kitty, Mystique at least is older than me and not one of my best friends! How would //you// feel Rogue, if I started getting flirty gifts from Mystique? Would that weird you out? Because it already weirds //me// out. This whole thing is //wrong//." She crossed her arms, her green eyebrows lurching upward as Rogue spoke of 'meat soldiers ' and'olden times' and she made a disgusted noise at the back of her throat.

"When my father was our age? That was over fifty years ago! Right after World War TWO! The HOLOCAUST! How do you think it was? Pick up a history book, watch a damned documentary. But please, for the sake of my sanity, do //not// encourage this."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty stays quiet, moving her spoon about in her ice cream and finally scooping up a bit of it. She brings it to her lips and eats it slowly, her eyes watching the others as they talk. Kitty suddenly coughs, choking a bit as Rogue starts talking about unzipping and... military matters.

Kitty clears her throat then, her eyes going back to her old roomie as she tries to give a tiny shake of her head as Rogue tries to use that Southern charm to talk her way through this. Kitty doesn't say anything just gets another bite of ice cream and tries to time the consumption of it to not fall right as Rogue is speaking this time.

Rogue has posed:
"Mystique's not my mom." Rogue replies right off the bat back at Lorna before she just leans back in her chair then and she looks up at the sky, or her ceiling more accurately. "I won't encourage it!" She responds forcefully then, not because she's shouting at Lorna, but because she's trying to fight that inner demon inside her that is always wanting to get a 'rise' out of people, especially men. "I won't do it. I woooooon't! I prooooomise! I mean it! I mean iiiiiiiit!" She raises the ice cream spoon up again and looks down to meet it with her mouth and clean it of the sweet cold treat.

She glances over at Lorna then and half sorta smiles. "I won't. I won't do it. I mean, I don't even SEE him that often. The drive way was the first time I'd seen him long enough t'talk t'him since that boat race where the mutant kid had his ice mutation freak out and Mags put his cloak around my shoulders cause he knew I'd come back all frozen-up and cold."

A dreamy sigh is released then from the southern belle. "That was so sweet of'im too..." She says, in a moment of stupid.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna glanced briefly at Kitty, as if to be certain that the other woman was hearing what she was hearing from Rogue. The green haired woman's jaw dropped briefly as Rogue continued to promise she wouldn't encourage Magneto's interest.. only to trail off sighing about how //sweet// he was about wrapping his cloak around her shoulders. Lorna blinked, her jaw snapping shut with a sharp click.

"Rogue!" She bit out, her voice partly strangled sounding, even to her own ears. "Seriously?!"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty winces at Rogue's choice of words. "Anna-Marie. Eat. Your. Ice. Cream," she says pointedly. She even points at the spoon and to Rogue's mouth. Put things in there to keep things from coming out.

Kitty looks over to Lorna and says, "She doesn't mean it like that. I don't think," Kitty says, flashing a look over to her other friend. "Look, have we even smelled the stuff? It's probably a gag gift. I mean, lightning? It smells like ozone? That's not exactly the best odor, right?" Kitty asks. She hops out of the chair and goes over to get the bottle. She'll look for approval before popping the lid off to smell it...

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just huffs out a big and heavy sigh at both of them. She's trying, its just challenging for her. She's full of sass and flirt, its hard to make it all go away and sit in a corner.

So there's just clinking of her spoon in her bowl and she listens to the two of them, specifically Kitty when she gets up to go check out the perfume bottle. "I haven't sampled it. Frankly I'm not sure a man has any idea how t'pick out a scent for a woman properly, so I went at it as don't ever smell and just imagine that its perfectly sweet and lovely. Which is what the intentions of the gif---"

Rogue then glances to Lorna, and goes silent again, for a moment. "was supposed t'be." She finishes her sentence cause it was just like a batterim ram in her mind trying to force its way out!

Polaris has posed:
A pained expression crossed Lorna's features, at least Kitty was attempting to get their friend to stop adding onto the chaos that was the already frustrating situation to Lorna. "Ozone? Lightning? In terms of magnetism..." She trailed off, green eyed gaze swinging back to the Southern Belle with a furrow of her eyebrows. Lorna shoved off from the wall, her shoulders still held in a tense line.

"Is there anything else about my father that you just //can't// keep to yourself? Huh? Anything at all?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty opens it up and takes a whiff of it, waving her hand across the top to stir the air and get more of the scent to her without having to put any on. "It's kind of... like tuberose? Or maybe gardenia's?" she say, shrugging. Kitty reaches over to pat Lorna's shoulder. "Who knows, with the lightning theme it could have been a simple joke back at Rogue. Right?" Kitty says.

"Soooooo. Lorna, how long are you back with us? Not having to return to Genosha too soon I hope? Will you be able to help us out at the factory we're going to investigate?" she asks. Change of subject, long overdue.

Rogue has posed:
More ice cream is shoved into her mouth and Rogue raises her eyes up to look at Lorna again, the question makes her run thoughts through her mind trying to think of a good response. She shakes her head. "I met him when I was fourteen first." She says. "Mystique setup a meet'n'greet, where she had me 'sample' a buncha mutants powers, t'show your dad how I could take them all just by touchin' the poor sods." She shows a slight grin. "My favorite was the fire breather... that was fuckin' fun." Rogue doesn't drop F-bombs very often, but that memory was a fond one, aside from the people she touched had no idea that her touch was gonan drop them out-cold for a few weeks.

She then shakes her head and glances a Kitty. "Ain't talked t'your dad but a few times in my whole time since then!"

Its then that Kitty's subject change happens and Rogue sets the ice cream bowl down onto that table between the chairs, the spoon clattering around in it as she moves to stand up and walk around the corner toward her closet and bathroom entrance. If you know Rogue well, you know she always brushes her teeth after she eats stuff like ice cream, if she's within range of her toothbrush that is.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna scowled briefly at Kitty, but it lessened as her anger wasn't aimed at the brunette in the least. Kitty's attempts to distract and change the topic of conversation had at least earned Lorna's focus and attention for a brief moment. "If I go back to Genosha right now I'll be thrown out of the line of succession for throwing a mountain at my father!" She snarled, inhaled sharply. The green haired woman dragged her hands through her hair, shuddering as she inhaled and exhaled slowly to keep her emotions and powers in check.

"I don't know how good I'll be at infiltration, but sure. Whatever. Sounds lovely." She ground out, her gaze lifting back to Rogue briefly as the woman headed to brush her teeth.

Storm has posed:
There's a gentle knocking on the doorframe and the door swings fully open. Ororo gives the three girls a level, slightly bemused look. Hands are interlaced loosely in front of her thighs. At some point recently her white hair's been straightened and worn in lazy, tumbling waves to her shoulders. The effect of the flowing locks with her close-shorn temples is something like a horse's man, flowing back and forth.

"I was checking on Ellie Masters and I heard some raised voices," Ororo says, her rich voice carrying easily. "Poor dear is having some homesickness." She steps into the room and latches the door behind her. Bangles click on her wrists and one ankle, glass beads and colorful ceramics clattering. Her dress is blue and white in horizontal stripes, fitted perhaps a little closer than some of her other outfits and with blue ribbons adorning bare shoulders to hold up the modest neckline. Sandals shuffle as she steps into the room.

It's not hard to pick up on the singing tension in the room. She regards all three of them with the same level expression as when the sophmore cohort had decided to try and redirect the creekbed into a field a summer previously. "Is this the sort of issue three friends can't solve over ice cream?"

She sniffs. "And do I smell... gardenias?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty realizes she still has the lid off of the perfume. She hastily closes it and motions towards Storm. "Good nose. We were just moving on to talk about... oh, did you get any ice cream?" Kitty says, switching topics in mid-sentence. She slips the perfume into one of Rogue's desk drawers rather than leaving it back out where it might catch the eye again.

Kitty goes to prepare a bowl for Storm. It's probably pretty obvious Kitty isn't directly part of the tension, but seems trying to lessen it. She brings the ice cream over to Ororo and then moves over to click the TV off the easy-listening station. She hit the back button which takes it back to the MMA fight that Rogue was watching earlier.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue doesn't see Storm come in to her room because she's around the corner and in the restroom. The sink can be heard running though as she does brush her teeth because she hates the feeling of that much sugar in her mouth... its a quirk about her! Pearly white teeth is how she likes them!

She does step back out of the bathroom though and stands in the doorway with her toothbrush in her mouth, foamy toothpaste all around her lips, her right hand on her hip and her left doing the brushing with the brushes handle. "Shtormahf!" Rogue says as she spots the white haired beauty and raises her free hand to wave it at the woman.

Rogue looks over to Kitty then who's putting the bottle away. "Shmellf thatff shtuff in da baffroomf." Rogue says then before she turns around and walks back into said room, disappearing again.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna huffed, looking about ready to launch into another angry tirade when Ororo entered the room. The tension hadn't truly left the green haired woman, and was clear in the lines of her shoulders as well as the scowl still on her face. She grumbled under her breath, "I brought the ice cream over and it started all of this mess. Because my father apparently sent Rogue perfume!" She waved a hand in the direction of the desk.

"And I'm seriously contemplating patricide just now. So."

Storm has posed:
Ororo's brows both lift at Lorna and she looks slowly, speculatively, over at the bathroom. Then she transfers those blue eyes back to Lorna. "I... see," she says, and nods at Lorna in understanding. Awkward.

"Some ice cream would be welcome, Katherine," Ororo tells the slender brunette, and moves to find a seat for herself. She sits carefully with a tuck of her dress behind her knees and folds one ankle behind the other. "Before we contemplate familicide-- may I have some ice cream as well? It is just the thing for a warm summer evening," she asks of Lorna.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde brings Ororo the bowl of ice cream. "Well, be sure to take out a good insurance policy first," Kitty advises Lorna. She pauses and glances at the other two ladies. "What? I watch movies. I know how this works," she say in preemptive protest. She goes back over to get herself a second, smaller bowl of ice cream.

Storm has posed:
"Well, try not to burn down the building," Ororo offers to the women. She accepts the bowl from Kitty gratefully and tucks the spoon under her finger. "I shan't keep you then. Just try to keep the screaming and... property destruction to a minimum. Goodnight," she bids the trio, and gets to her feet with a smile. Ororo disappears out the door with ice cream in hand, humming a song gentle as summer's rain in her rich voice and in the timeless language of the Savannah.
