Cast of Characters: Selene (Underworld), Shadowcat, Shadow, Red Robin

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
There's a certain class of seedy dive bar the underworld of Gotham like to frequent. Selene's settled into the darkest corner as she's surveying the scene. The bar's the place angry sailors drink and brawl, and Selene's sitting there, waiting in her usual war gear. Selene's brought her few Death Dealers with her, they have a table to themselves.

The bar's all run down and dirty wood, chipped tables, dirty classes. There's classy seedy....then...there's this place. The name doesn't matter, it's way, way beneath any reputable seedy barrs. There's a large, obese bartender waddling up and down behind the bar, bald with a nose ring and ear piercings and a faded 'I ate at Big Belly Burger' t-shirt that's stretched out. Selene taps her fingers on the cracked and chipped table...waiting, just waiting. She's come ready for a fight. Or, a meeting, even. Smoke is thick in the air from cheap cigarettes, and cheap alcohol.

Shadowcat has posed:
The visit from the member of the NYPD unit that handles enhanced individuals and other unusual cases had prompted Kitty Pryde to reach out to Selene. An encrypted picture was attached, a Lycan body with bullet holes in it, lying in the alley back of Luke's bar, and the text: "One of yours? We should talk."

Kitty slipped into her Blackbird attire, never knowing when a trip to Gotham might have need of her alter identity created for working alongside her boyfriend and his family. Her normal clothes went overtop, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, then a hoodie overtop those. The meetup was arranged, a down and out location that Kitty only knew by the reputation of the area.

Walking in, the brunette's ponytail swings about a bit as she looks from side to side. She doesn't make any other commentary about the establishment, but instead walks over to Selene's table once she spots the raven-haired woman with the remarkable blue eyes. Kitty slips into a chair. "Glad you were able to meet," she says, voice kept low. "A friend captain was asking questions, showed me that picture. Said I'd put word out and see if I could get him any answers. Wasn't sure if you'd want to share or not," she says.

Shadow has posed:
The art of stealth tends to be highly misunderstood. Those who have no understanding at all think it's all about hiding or making yourself invisible through magic or technology. Those who understand it a bit better speak of camouflage, of blending into the environment. But the true masters of the art - be they eastern onmitsu or conventional spies - understand that this too is folly. Humans are /good/ at spotting discrepancies in a pattern; those proto-humans that couldn't reliably tell a patch of grass from a tiger were culled from the gene pool long ago. To not be seen, all one has to do is look unworthy of attention.

This lesson was lost on the cadre of Lycans who had found out about the meeting place, and so they never realized that the person serving their drinks and cleaning the bartop could hear them.

Once his guests have left the establishment, Jerry spends a moment looking at the girasol ring on his finger, and remembering that time he'd heard too much, and how someone stepped in when the mob tried to rectify that error. Even if he didn't owe the Shadow, he'd still have placed this call...

In the back of an utterly unremarkable cab that her acquaintances in high society would be mortified if they knew she rode one, Natasha Cranston puts away her phone and reaches for the briefcase at her side. "Change in plans, Benny. It appears I'll be needed in Gotham.

Benny doesn't bat an eye as he hauls on the wheel, taking the next turn and stepping on the gas. "Trouble, Boss?"

"Not if I can help it. Drop me off a block away from Noonan's, if you would," Natasha replies, flipping the latches twice and lifting the false bottom away to reveal a pair of heavy pistols and a greatcoat.

"... Some idiot's crazy enough to start trouble at Noonan's? Must be out of towners..."

"Let's hope they can be persuaded to leave as quickly as they arrived," the Shadow agrees, settling both hat and scarf into place as Benny drives on...

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake has decided he needed to get out and about and practice his disguise work a bit. Today he is wearing a bit unusual attire. A black t-shirt with one of the local Gotham thrash bands that are trying to make a name for themselves. his baggy pants hanging down showing grey boxers (In color not in grunge level luckily). He has slightly oversized mutton chop side burns and a neck tattoo of a spider wrapping around his neck. He sports a nose ring as well as an eyebrow one. He walks in like he owns the place, and heads to the bar, to order a beer. When he is carded he puts up a little fuss "Damn man, twenty five and still getting this shit." He shows the man an ID before getting his beer, and moving to a seat at a table near Kitty and her friends and putting his feet up. Might as well see how well the disguise holds up.

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
Selene nods to Kitty and motions for her Death Dealers to enjoy themselves but stay alert. "Oh, the NYPD were asking about the alley? Yeah...I.....sort of broke the captain's nose. Was he a square jawed guy who was going around with a female cop?" Selene asks. "Yeah I know him. I broke his nose by accident. He was trying to arrest me, and a bunch of lycan gangbangers showed up. So I jumped up and busted his nose pretty wel. Turneds ugly with dead lycans" Selene says keeping her voice down and looking impressed. "You heard bout the NYPD supposedly going for silver and UV? I met the captain and convinced him to use those on lycans and vampires" she nods, watching the sleazy bar. With a hand motioning the Death Dealers to stay put, Selene's noticed the lycans and them with her hands on the table, looking over to the lycans as they leave. "Well" Selene says "Hopefully" she adds and lowers her voice. "They stay out of here" she grimaces and looks like she's angry lycans came here. This was meant to be a secure meeting. Still, Selene nods to Kitty. "You want me to share? Make it worth my time" she says

By that she means give her something she's looking for, or that's valuable to her, or the coven. Selene's dressed for a fight, but she knows the reputation of Noonan's. She's done her homework. It'd be suicide to start a fight here.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty isn't looking about all that much, but uses small glances now and then to keep an eye on the establishment. "That sounds like him," she says at the description of the cop that matches Frank Quaid and his partner. "Well, it is more the other way around," she says of the demand for something worth Selene's time. "I came to give you the info the police were looking into the body. Which, side note, if it can be avoided leaving those, would definitely help. Anyway, I came to let you decide if you wanted to share any information with the police or not. I didn't let on the amount I knew," Kitty says quietly.

She gives a shrug then and continues, "Sounds like in the time it took for us to get in touch, you already have spoken to them though. If you're talking about ammunition types with them. Leave mention of me out with the captain. But next I see him I'll say I tried to get word to someone who might have information and that will probably end it for me. No need for him to know I'm helping you with matters," she says.

Shadow has posed:
Traffic is, fortunately, relatively light for this time in the evening - and most of it is crossing the bridge in the other direction, Gothamites heading to the Big Apple to dance the night away. "Just watch yourself when you go in, Boss," Benny comments as he pulls off the freeway and into Gotham's seedier areas. "Noonan's got a rep. Word is the proprietor used to be a hitman."

"/Used/ to be?" The Shadow asks, blue eyes meeting Benny's in the rear view mirror. "That's the word. Supposedly he decided to retire - and managed to make his retirement stick."

"Interesting," the Shadow replies, then falls silent as the cab makes its final approach, slowing briefly as it passes a block away from Noonan's..

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake is flopped in his chair, and takes a long sip of his beer. His eyes seem half closed, as he pulls out a cell phone and places an earbud in his ear. The young man looks over to the door now and again as if he might be waiting for someone, but seems more bored than nervous.

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
^r"You want me" Selene asks quirking a brow with an amused tone, "To not leave bodies when a fight breaks out? In my defense there was one in the dumpster" she says and relents from her hard bargain "I'll share" she says and looks amused. "Ask...and I'l answer"

That way she knows what's coming and can prepare. Smart play, as Selene nods to Kitty. "But before that...why meet here? " she asks to Kitty and takes a look around the bar once more, eyes fixed then back on Kitty.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty gives a small shrug of her shoulders and, seeming to infer from the comment about the police being there at the scene, says, "If the police were already there, not much you can do about what you leave behind, I agree. Though the more of them that show up, the more certain authorities are likely to come looking," Kitty says.

She glances about the room then back to Selena. "I understand you managed to make contact with the person you were seeking. I've arranged with them to be able to assist as well if you're dealing with matters in Gotham," Kitty says, not identifying Batman as more than a pronoun, should anyone be able to hear her. "Is there any news on their movements here?" she asks. Kitty glances about the place again and says, "Needed to check out something in the area anyway, so it was convenient."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake is planning on hearing Kitty and Selena, not so much planning on spying on his friend cause he does not trust her, but more seeing if he can get away with it, and also will let him give her an idea how she might be able to approve. He maybe turning into Batman after all. He turns on the hidden mic, and makes sure directed their way. He will sip his beer some more trained to hide the fact he does not like it, and props his chair back on it's hind legs.

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
Selene looks over as the door goes. There's just one figure entering, but soon there's afew more. By 'a few', try five total. Selene notices them instantly and motions to her Death Dealers to stay put. Not that the lycans are doing anything.....yet. Selene though is quiet and she's looking to the bartender hoping he'll make the call. Selene's got enough firepower in her coat, bullet wise, /silver/ bullet wise to deal with them on her own. Plus her Death Dealers have guns and ammo, plus, if the reputation of this place is to be believed....fighting would not end well for anyone. Selene though pretends nothing is wrong and her table are out for a meetup and a talk and a drink. She is, though, sliding notes to Kitty. Notes that replace what she'd say. Since if the lycans figure out who she is...she's target number one for lycans.
he lycans are crowding the bar demanding drinks. Nott a good idea. They....apparently, don't know, or care about the reputation of the owner. Selene looks around with a look that clearly says....trouble just walked in here. I am not responsible if you get hurt.

Shadow has posed:
It would take a very skilled and wary observer indeed to recognize that after the last of the newcomers had entered, the door was somewhat slow in closing. Of course, Noonan's currently has no shortage of skilled observers, but right now most of them are sizing up the newcomers and reaching conclusions. Hubbub slows, conversation stills, and one or two chairs creak as patrons shift their weight.

From behind the bar, Noonan glares around the pub forbiddingly, and his patrons gradually relax again somewhat, taking the hint - no one is going to start anything unless the newcomers do. For now...

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty hasn't given any sign that she's recognized Tim. She does seem to notice some tensing in others in the room though as the scruffy-looking and rather gruff men come in though. Kitty glances back over her shoulder without turning her head too much, walking them head over to the bar as Selene is scribbling out her note.

Kitty's hand is waiting for it, covering it and sliding it over so no one else can oversee what it says, cupping it in her hand to look at it. Kitty gives a small nod. She remembers how the previous Lycans recognized Selene, and opened fire in the middle of a crowed subway platform. Kitty slides a pen out of her pocket and adds to the note. "Going to follow them? Or take them out when they leave?" she asks in the note that she slides back to Selene, text down.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake was taught to read a room as well, and while he does not know what the players are. He has a bit of an idea. He will bring up an app on the phone device he has and send Kitty a text. "Backup here. RR." He will force himself to keep faking the relaxed motion as if he has not seen any danger coming in, but slowly scans the room, for where things and people are.

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
Selene gives a nod to Kitty once the note's flipped and read with her hand covering it. She'll deal with the lycans, but would like their help. That much is scribbbled in return, the lycans tensing up as if they'd been challenged. Selene's torn. On the one hand she wants a reason to take these lycans...and the previous ones out. On the other. She'd rather not be front and center in a gun fight in a bar. Plus the reputation of this guy....that worries her. Still she's not moving a muscle, bar sliding notes back and forth like she's passing a secret in kindegarten. If it works....it works.

Selene's waiting for the lycans to make a wrong move. Instead they get beers then sit too close for comfort to Selene's table. She's pretty sure that's no accident. That's got her suspicions raised. It's no coincidence five lycans just 'happen' to sit next to a table with Selene, Kitty and Death Dealers. It's another reason Selene's been sliding notes. Mostly since the lycans aren't watching her hands. They're drinking and being loud and annoyingly frat boy like. Selene's wondering if Gotham U even /has/ lycan frat houses. It's possible.....it's very very possible....after all.

Shadow has posed:
No, it's no coincidence. Selene knows it. The Lycans know it. And even though they have no idea who either Selene or these Lycans are, most of Noonan's patrons also know it.

So really shouldn't have been a surprise when Sean Noonan himself walks up to the table and addresses both groups. "Look, I don't know what beef you people have with each other, and frankly, none of us really give a damn. So here's a one-time offer. Your drinks so far have been on the house, and in return, you either agree not to start any trouble while you're in here, or you leave. Deal?"

It's a polite enough statement, in a perfectly casual tone of voice. But to those with ears to heer there's a layer of steel underneath that would probably be unwise to test without good cause...

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde slides her phone out of her pocket as it chimes, keeping it down below the table out of sight as she checks the message. She taps a short reply back, "Werewolves," and then slips the phone back into a pocket.

The young woman avoids eye contact with the other group though is watching out of the corner of her eye, until Sean Noonan comes over to make his views on the tension well known. She slides her chair back just a little bit more, increasing the amount of space she'll have if anything starts up. She doesn't say anything in response to the owner, just glances over towards Selene, letting her decide what to do with her people, and then looking back to the Lycans, watching for movement.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will turn and blatantly watch now, as he is sitting apart from the others, it may look more like he is just one of the crowd. He does glance towards his phone, but keeps the others in view. He makes his plan if things go south save Noonan, never hurts to save someone to get your rep up with them

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
Selene nods as the lycans get warned.....as they are discussing it among themselves. Though they do agree....sort of as Selene shakes her head. "Bet they won't stick to it?" she whispers as Selene's all but banking on it.

There's movement. One of the lycans gets to his feet, pretending to go to the bar....mostly to cover the fact he's pulling a knife out of his pocket.

Selene's on edge. One with a knife is bad. She's not starting a fight. However, the lycan goes to the bar with knife in hand and calls to Noonan for more drinks. Selene sighs. "Why me?" she asks as The knife wielding lycan pockets the knife. It's a switchblade, folded up. Selene shakes her head and motions to her Death Dealers to not get involved. Rahter, the vampire feels responsible for her table and they are her people.

The switchblade comes back out once the lycan sits down, the other four egging the knife waving lycan on, can he throw it at the dart board. For reasons down to stupidity, bravado and drink....the lycan tries. The knife....was last seen going nowhere near the dart board. Selene's narrowing her eyes as a scream of pain is heard. That's not a good sign, lycans hurling knives around Noonan's. The only saving grace is nobody's gone for a gun....thankfully. Still...Selene's worried what those lycans will do next.

Shadow has posed:
That... Was a mistake.

There is a sudden flurry of activity and snicking sounds of safeties being removed and/or knives drawn, and the five Lycans find themselves the object of every patron's undivided attention. It slowly starts to dawn on them that perhaps, just perhaps, they aren't the apex predator in the room as Sean Noonan looms huge over their able. "That's it," he growls with a rumble that promises mayhem and pain if it isn't obeyed. "You. Out. /Now/. And don't come back." He doesn't wait for a response and simply heads back to behind his bar. "I won't ask again."

Shadowcat has posed:
Tim sits up a little more alertly at his table as the knife goes sailing past and into the shoulder of another customer. The man looks like a biker, given the emblem on the back of his jacket, and the men with him reach under their table, the faint sound of clicking suggesting they are ready to retaliate.

Though glances to the bar's owner show they have enough respect for him to not start it here, at least. "Forget them, need to get to the hospital," the wounded man says. The other bikers escort him out of the bar, their motorcycles roaring to life as they ride off.

Kitty hasn't moved from her chair, though has glanced around the room. Her eyes fall on Tim in his disguise, staying there just long enough he'll know that he's been spotted finally. Kitty looks back to the Lycans, not doing anything to provoke them at this point, not wanting to see the bar turn into a bloodbath.

Selene (Underworld) has posed:
Selene watches the lycans carefully as they leave, though they're shouting threats at Noonan....but they do leave to not pick a fight with him. Instead, they have their own bikes ready. Selene looks to Kitty then shakes her head

"I don't think they'll leave quietly" Selene says. "Well. Correcting that. Leaving Gotham quietly" she adds and listens to the lycan bikes riding off. Once they fade, Selene finally speaks. "We haven't seen the last of them" she says gently. "They'll be back to attack this bar. They see him" she says with a nod to Noonan. "As a threat and a challenge. The guy that got the knife in his shoulder....if I was in his shoes I'd go after the lycans" she says, hoping the bikers take the bait to do do Selene's dirty work for her and fight the lycans.
