Cast of Characters: Ghost Rider (Blaze), Witchblade

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Johnny texted Sara with the number that she gave him, perhaps hoping that it was not a fake one AND that she would answer the phone....that she said she never answers. Ugh. But she picked up the phone! and here we are.

Johnny agreed to meet her there to let her take care of the last few pieces of paperwork she had to do. As such, Blaze was leaning against his heavily modified motorcycle as he looks at his phone, perhaps checking the time....while also hoping that no dumb demon comes around ruining his date.

Because what if she knew what he was? She'd never talk to him again! she'd probably call him a demon and either try to kill him or just walk away. or die from the insanity.

Whichever comes first.

But there he is, waiting in central park. Lets just hope it doesn't rain.

Witchblade has posed:
It's been a while since Sara actually went out. And the janitor at One Police Plaza told her that if she didn't go out and actually have some fun, her trash was never going to get emptied again, so. Blackmail.

She shows up on foot, in jeans and a t-shirt with a light jacket pulled over it all. "You must be a lucky guy," she says as she approaches, grin flashing. "Nothing actually got in my way while I was getting here. Speaking of that devil's luck."

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Johnny chuckles a little bit as he sees Sara approach him. He was wearing a leather jacket with black jeans, combat boots, and a red shirt. "Well hey, I like to think that my luck's going up. Not everyday a lady returns my call." he gives her a light nudge of his shoulder to hers playfully. "You look good. How you doing since last we had a chat?"

He starts to walk into central park, hoping that she either follows or stays at his side as he does so.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara falls into step at his side easily enough, hands in her pockets in a casual posture. "Surprisingly enough, no horrible cases today," she chuckles. "No horrible //new// cases, at least. Just doing some legwork on some existing ones. Which seem to be turning out to be entirely normal, rather than anything to do with the real weird. But hey, keeps life easy."

She looks over, tipping her head with a curious arch of her brow. "You? Find anything interesting in the shop today?"

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Johnny looks at Sara as she explains that her life has been rather easy. No new horrible cases that she has to thumb through or investigate, which is always good. "Hey, thats good news. Means you don't have to break your back over anything not worth the time."

But as she asks him about his day, he shrugs. "Eh, I found a part that might help the engine of a car I'm fixing up. Will it work? Probably not. Has a bit too much horsepower in it I think, but who knows? Might make a kickass gas pedal, thats for damn sure." but then he smiles at her, genuinely.

"So, how long do I have you for?"

Witchblade has posed:
"I am off for the night," Sara shrugs, smile crooked. "So, you know. Until something horrible happens, or I get bored. Whichever comes first." She winks, though as she walks through the park, she's got a weather eye on everyone around them. She might as well be walking a beat, the way she watches for potential trouble.

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
"Oh don't worry, if something happens, I'll let you handle it." Which was Johnny's counter to the usual addage of saying 'don't worry babe, I'll protect you', but with more emphasis on the independance. Nevertheless, he seems to chuckle a little bit to her. "Well, hopefully you don't get bored."

Then it happens.

Johnny seems to sharply turn his head at a shady-looking homeless man, who seems to be eyeballing the two rather heavily. Like he's in a daze. He's probably hooked on all the drugs to the average person, but Johnny sees with more than eyes.

Witchblade has posed:
"Doooon't make eye contact with the crazy people." Sara tries to guide Johnny past the homeless man, a hand light at his elbow. "Free lesson from a native New Yorker. That's how you end up mugged, or pick-pocketed, or just...covered in vomit and wondering how your life got to this."

That one sounds like the voice of experience.

She doesn't seem to be picking up on anything other than the generic weirdness of New York City just yet though.

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Johnny keeps his eyes on the 'homeless man' even as Sara tries to give her words of wisdom to the Spirit of Vengeance. For a brief moment, hellfire seems to dance in the blue of Johnny's eyes, but instead he tries to just ignore it...but he hears the whispers. The cries for vengeance. For punishment. To return that which does not belong.

As they get some distance between themselves and this stranger, the homeless man starts to follow them.

Why is he following them?

Probably because his eyes just did the sideways blink thing, which is never good. "Sorry...just got distracted for a second." he shakes his head. "So then, what do you like to do for fun?" he's trying to ignore it...but honestly, how long will that last?

Witchblade has posed:
There's that little tickle in the back of Sara's mind, which she ruthlessly pushes down. Come on, not tonight. Just //one// night for herself where she can actually have some fun and not be on the job - one job or the other.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem like it's going to be the case, since they're being followed. Without turning around, she reaches over to link arms with Johnny. "Now see," she says lightly, pitching her voice to keep them from being overheard. "This is what happens when you make eye contact."

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Locking arms with Sara, Johnny seems to smirk lightly. "Well, maybe it was just an excuse to hold arms with a beautiful detective." Johnny tries to make light of the situation, but its said in a tone that says 'my bad'.

Then, the homeless man starts to shift in his appearance, his eyes becoming slitted and his skin becoming scaly.

"Just one normal date, ya know? Just one where nothing weird happens." he chuckles a bit, perhaps his fingers looking to tangle with hers a little bit. Maybe it will give the demon pause? to see two hyper-lethal supernatural entities goin' it together.

Witchblade has posed:
"You don't have to tell me." As the man behind them starts to shift, Sara stiffens, her grip on his hand tightening ever so slightly. The Witchblade won't be ignored now, tendrils starting to creep along the back of her hand toward her fingers, drawing her attention. She glances down, stiffening again as she sees that things are moving forward.

Her steps start to slow as she glances over her shoulder, then curses under her breath. "Okay. You know, you should probably move on ahead," she warns, starting to reach into her jacket.

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Two other 'homeless' men join the demon, and start to shift themselves. "I should run? I was going to say the same thing to you." His eyes start to ignite, and eventually a bladed chain falls from his sleeve until its tip touches the ground. He stops though, and he turns. "I'll go first." he exhales steam, and as he starts to walk towards the demons, who all turn into seemingly draconic creatures, with people already running away in terror, Johnny's flesh seems to burn off of his face like paper into embers...leaving behind only a bare skull, wreathed in hellfire.

The Ghost Rider had awakened.

one of the demons take flight as Johnny swings that chain at one of them, gashing it across the chest, but not quite killing it, instead making it get some distance as well.

Well....seems thats what the Witchblade was freaking out about the last time they hung out.

Witchblade has posed:
"Son of a //bitch//," Sara mutters when Johnny turns and transforms, grimacing. "I knew it was too much to ask for."

If she was a certain sort of girl, Sara would be willing to keep her own secrets and let Johnny handle this problem. The thing is, Sara has a constitutional inability to let someone else take care of her problems. Especially when said problems can be solved with a fight. That, and the Witchblade is of much the same mind.

Silver and gold climb up her hand and over her forearm, tendrils of metal that turn her fingertips to claws until she's armored across her torso and upper legs, a sword in her hand.

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
of course, Sara could've just let Johnny handle it then grill him about keeping the secret from her later. But instead, she goes Full Witchblade and Ghost Rider turns his head at her, while Johnny's internal voice screams 'daughter of a //bastard//'.

Of course, this is when a demon spews fire at the Rider....which does nothing. Don't demons do their homework? A demon made out of hellfire is probably immune to hellfire. Silly rabbit. Nonetheless, Ghost Rider uses his chain, which catches on hellfire, and he yanks the demon down where he proceeds to burn it alive. Back to hell with you! shoo! shoo!

Witchblade has posed:
Sara's methods are a little less...metaphorical than the Rider's. There's no flame, no guilt, no hellfire. But there's a whole lot of...well, something. She strides toward a demon attempting to flank Johnny and his victim, intercepting it with a sweep of the blade in her hand that's powerful enough to cut the creature in half. Even as she does, she extends the other hand toward the third demon and tendrils of the blade shoot out from her hand to tangle around it, letting her turn and fling it toward the Rider's flames.

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
The Demon is indeed cut in half as the witchblade comes after it. Sure enough, there's certainly a bit of a shocking touch when she launches tendrils from the blade to whip the last demon at the Ghost Rider! who catches the demon by the neck with just a hand. Growling, both demons are soon burned alive, their souls returned to Hell to once again be reformed.

Then? The Rider turned to look upon the Witchblade, apparently growling at it. It narrows its eyeholes, as if its trying to see into Sara's soul.

Would he find anything?

Witchblade has posed:
Sara's no innocent. She's lied. She's killed. But as far as can be told, it's always been in the service of good. In the service of something better. And when it comes to it...she's spent a lot of time staring back at her own Darkness through the Witchblade. It's that edge that keeps her in charge.

So when the Rider turns to look at her, she looks back, jaw set stubbornly, features framed by tendrils of the 'blade that glow in shades of silver and gold.

"We gonna have a problem?"

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Ghost Rider seems to growl in a way that causes embers to exhude from his mouth, before the flames go away, and the muscle and flesh regrows on Johnny within seconds, until its like he never transformed at all. Full head of hair and facial hair to boot! Johnny keeps his eyes on Sara as he approaches.

"So....I see you have a thing." he gestures about the Witchblade. At least she seems to have a modicum of control over it. Johnny kinda has to fight Zarathos in a battle of will to determine if he's the one in charge (usually Johnny wins).

Well....this is awkward. How owuld Sara feel about this particular situation?

Witchblade has posed:
As the Rider fades away, so too does the Witchblade, until there's nothing but the bracelet on Sara's wrist. "No idea what you're talking about," she replies breezily, starting toward whatever is left of the demons to make sure there's no sort of crime scene that needs to be cleaned up. "Seems to me like we just almost got jumped by a bunch of bums, who decided to flee the scene when they realized who they were taking on."

Ghost Rider (Blaze) has posed:
Johnny seems to look at the extremely little remains that are naturally taking care of. Namely by the wind. But Johnny seems to chuckle a little bit as she talks. "I concur with your assessment detective Pezzini." Johnny seems to smile at her. "So, shall we continue our walk?" he offers the lady his arm, etting her decide if she wants to take it or not.

"Besides, best that we stick together so that no more bums try to get the jump on us."

Witchblade has posed:
Exactly. Like Hell Sara's letting a few easily-dusted demons get in the way of her night out. "You know, I'm kind of feeling like a pretzel," she says as they continue along the path.
