Date of Scene: 29 June 2019
Location: Spike's Sub-Basement, Hugo Building
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Spike, Buffy Summers

Spike has posed:
It's just a normal evening in the sub basement, the TV's on, and Spike's looking over a TV guide debating what to watch. He's....looking unimpressed at the cable channels have on, and feet up on the little table, the door's open too...and he's absolutely relaxing, enjoying it. Shaking his head, Spike's lounging around in.....scary levels of lack of clothing. Duster's hung up, and Spike's looking like a slacker. Spike though looks to the TV and flips the channel again. "Home shopping, home shopping, lack of anything on...." Spike grouses and shakes his head.

Glancing over, Spike's mumching a sandwich and a beer, too. He's still not totally fine from his time in the Bronze, and that fangirl. It took poetry to get her to run away screaming. Still....Spike though loks around the sub basement again.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers is tired after a long day of classes, dull work at the burger joint and workout sessions with Giles shortly after. She's not sure how she ended up passing by Spike's place although she's sure she left a notebook here last time she dropped by to help him move into his new place (And totally not because she was inexplicably annoyed at his flirtations with some pretty girl at the Bronz!). "Spike, open up!" she calls out, rapping on his door.

Spike has posed:
"It's open!" Spike calls and looks to the door as he turns the TV down again and hears Buffy. Ah, great, Buffy....Buffy, the Slayer. Oh this is wonderful. He law saw her when he was being hung on all over by a fangirl in the Bronze. Ugh....Spike wants to forget that. Still, he's not opening the door. He's....oddly relaxed. Buffy showing up can't even disrupt his mood.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers shoves open the door peering around. "Don't mind me, I left my notebook here, somewhere.." she notices Spike's lack of much clothing and rolls her eyes, "Seriously? How many times do I have to tell you to at least put a shirt on?" she continues to lol around for her notebook. And traces of a girl staying here, like makeup or lingerie or who knows what else.

Spike has posed:
Spike waves a hand, "Yeah I heard you" he said. "Oh, notebook, yeah you left it here when you were drinking my beer and eating a sandwich weren't you?" he asks and watches Buffy. "Oh, yeah. Notebooks' over there" he says and waves over to a table as he does tug on a shirt that's laying on the couch. "Better?" he asks now wearing a ruffled and crumbled shirt. Shaking his head Spike looks amused. "What're you annoyed about. You don't sound happy Buffy" Spike says with a shrug.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers peers around and finds no evidence of a girl having stayed here - at least not recently. Not that she cared of course! She lets out a weird little laughter of relief, and heads for the notebook on the table. "Whew, I thought I lost it..Guess I can finish my philosophy paper now.." she glances at Spike and shrugs, "Annoyed? Why would I be annoyed? I'm just tired, you know, school, work, patrolling..On my own.." yeah, she hasn't doubled up with him in a while.

Spike has posed:
Spike shakes his head. He won't admit it but he misses patrolling with Buffy. Like it or not....he.....does get on with her. Yet.....Spike sighs. Call it a guilty conscience, or....something....but Spike gets up, he is thankfully wearing pants. "So how's your studies going?" he asks....partly being conversational, partly worried. "Look if you're tired, Buffy. Sit down and relax, okay?" he asks and steps into the kitchen though he turns to watch her. There's a look in his eyess though.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers shrugs, "Going fine, Wil's helping me in Philosophy and I got this other..Friend helping me with history." she smiles but says nothing more of her other tutor. "Sit and relax? Like last time?" she laughs and shakes her head, taking a step towards the door, "No thanks, wouldn't want to get all relaxed and drink and start saying and doing things I might regret later. Besides, wouldn't want to interrupt you and your..Your..Girlfriend." there's the slightest hint of annoyance in her voice as she says that.

Spike has posed:
Spike whirls around and looks to Buffy. "What?" he asks and motions to Buffy. "You don't sound happy" he points out then shakes his head. "What'd I do? Last time I saw you we were at the Bronze" he huffs and sets his feet. "What....girlfriend?" he asks and looks worried, shaking his head. "What....what're you on about?" he asks then shakes his head slowly. "You're tired, Buffy. You're not making sense" he says slowly and sighs.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers arches a brow, clearly annoyed now, but trying hard to act cool. "Unhappy? That's silly? I'm totally cool, just tired is all.." she shrugs and heads for the couch, grabbing one of Spike's beers and popping it open. "You're clearly overreacting, geez." she shrugs again, taking a long sup of beer. Ahh, that's better. "Oh you know, that girl who was fawning all over you at the Bronze..Not that it affects me or anything.." she laughs as she takes another sip of beer, waiting expectantly for him to explain.

Spike has posed:
Spike pulls a bag of popcorn out of the fridge. It's been chilling there and joins Buffy on the couch and sets the popcorn between them. "I'm overreacting?" he asks, though he sounds confused. "About that girl? What, I didn't even do anything, she was all over me. You know I grabbed her wrist when she wanted to hit you, right? She dragged me off, I wasn't willing to go with her at all" Spike huffs opening his beer and sippping it. "Look, if that's what you're annoyed about,I've not seen her again since then and....I don't want to" Spike admits looking bemused.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers laughs and shakes her head, hungrily grabbing some popcorn. It's been a long night. "No no, I mean about acting like I'm all upset. I mean it really doesn't bother me if you decide you want to date other girls..I mean..Girls.." ugh, now this is awkward, "So like I said, I'm not annoyed at all. Maybe you should get out more.."

Spike has posed:
Spike pauses sipping his beer. "See. Not making sense, Buffy" Spike says and looks puzzzled with a sidelong look to Buffy. "If it doesn't bother you why are you making a big deal out of it then?" he asks as if homing in on a point. "Y'know.w, it doesn't make sense. You're all acting weird about this. C'mon Buffy, it's just not" he says and chews on a handful of popcorn. "Adding up to me" he shrugs.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers sighs and shakes her head. "Good grief. I can't believe we're totally having this conversation about nothing! I mean really, it doesn't bother me. Why should it? Like I said you're just making a big deal about nothing, and right now I'm very tempted to punch you in the face if you keep dwelling on it.." she grits her teeth, daring him to dwell 'it', whatever this tension between them even means.

Spike has posed:
Spike takes the bait as he does dwell on it really. "Oh really, you want to punch me?" Spike asks with a cocky smile. "I'm not the one was is all worked up about this, nw" he says pausing for effect. "Now, am I?" he asks, all but begging to get punched in the face. Spike never, ever lerns. Or, he likes getting hit by Buffy.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers snarls, already annoyed with him as she leaps from the couch and punches him square in the face. Because she's got a temper sometimes, and because it's Spike, so she's allowed to be a jerk to him. "Ugh, why don't you know when to shut up sometimes?! Just give it a rest! Or do you really want me to stake you?"

Spike has posed:
Spike grunts and doesn't even attempt to block the punch. Instead he snarls right back. "Why is it so easy to get under your skin, slayer?" he asks and looks over. Spike let her punch him. "Do I want you to stake me?" he asks laughing softly. "Oh no no, I don't want you to stake me. You're right, Summers. I don't know when to shut up. But....you're not much better."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, "Because you don't know when to shut up!" she attempts to punch him harder, enough to know him over if he'll let her, "Because you keep tempting me, playing with my feelings, acting like there's something between us which there isn't. Because you're a vampire and I'm the slayer!"

Spike has posed:
Spike does get knocked over, landing off the couch on his back. "You" Spike says looking up at Buffy. "Know how to throw a hook" he adds and rubs his jaw. "Ow. You actually punched me hard" he says and looks impressed. "You think I'm playing with your feelings do you?" he asks and gets to his feet. "Tell you what, Summers. Tell you what" he says, doing his best not to taunt her....but... "I keep tempting you? Really. I'm tempting you. Go on. Tell me how" he adds. "Sit. Your beer's getting stale" he adds. Like she'll sit after throwing a punch.....Spike's trying to maintain his ego. Like that'll happen.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers seems more annoyed that she didn't manage to annoy him and groans, flopping tiredly in the couch, chugging more beer, "I mean, sometimes I just tire of being good old dependable, predictable Buffy. Do you homework, go to work, slay vampires. Sometimes I just wanna let loose, do what I want to do and not always follow the rules." she grabs some popcorn, popping it her mouth, although when she grabs some more she just stares at it in her fingers, crushing it to powder. "I'm sure you can relate, being forced to be a 'good vampire.'"

Spike has posed:
"I hear you" Spike says and settles back on the couch again. "I hear you Buffy. I hear what you're saying. If you're tired of being dependable, and then cut loose" he says and smiles. "I can think of some ways you can cut loose" he nods and sighs. "See, I can related to you, we're in the same boat aren't we?"?" he asks watching her out the corner of is eye.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, touching her lips, remembering the 'accidental kiss' between them the other day. She takes another long sip of beer, glancing at him thoughtfully, "I mean I almost envy you. You just lounge around here having fun, watching soaps, flirting with tarts.." she pauses, waiting for a reaction from him. "I mean how do you even afford a place like this? You're a neutered vampire..What, do you just steal money from vamps before you dust em? Is that even a thing?" she smiles at a thought, "I could think of something rebellious to do." oh wait she didn't just say that. It was the beer talking.

Spike has posed:
^rSpike tilts his head at Buffy, "Ya? What are you thinking?" he asks and looks amused then smiles, albeit secretively. "I got my ways of getting money. We could patrol and cut loose if you want...or patrol after cutting loose" Spike offers with a smile. He doesn't react to the 'tarts' comment. At least up to that point. "Don't put yourself down, Buffy. You're better than that" he smiles, stretching...though his arm is stretching toward Buffy. Not that he's out to hit her. Rather he's thinking other things. And wondering what she's meaning by rebelliousness. Giles must not....not....not ever know about this one. He'd get shot by the slayer, and zapped or staked with a candle by Willow. But hey, if the Slayer wants to cut loose and rebel....he's not gonna stop her.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers arches s brow, "Cutting loose? Seriously?" yes, she'd like to cut loose, but.."I have nooo idea what you're talking about but I should patrol. I suppose you can come with if you want. Unless you're...Waiting for someone.." she finishes the rest of her beer and grabs some more popcorn before rising to her feet.

Spike has posed:
Spike shakes his head, "You don't want to be dependable, right?" Spike asks, "No no, you're not in a fit state to patrol" Spike adds and blinks. "What...you think I'm waiting for somebody? No, no" he says and looks confused. "Why do you think I'm waiting for somebody?" he asks, "Not that I am"

Truth. Buffy's right there. Though admittedly....Spike's no good at relationships really.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, folding her arms. "Why wouldn't I be fit to patrol? You don't think I have what it takes to stake vampires tonight?" she narrows her eyes, matching right up into his face, "Need me to give you another demonstration? Hmm?" she shrugs and smirks, "No reason? I was just checking, just incase you..Had other things to do tonight, other than..Patrol.."

Spike has posed:
"Well" Spike says with a smile. "You really want to patrol tonight, or do you....say...want to say screw it and not patrol tonight, you know, kick back, relax and forget responsibilities?" Spike asks. He's trying his best to make a good argument. He has quite a few ideas how Buffy could cut loose. Still....Spike raises an eyebrow. "You think I'm waiting for somebody?" he asks. "Why do you think that? I mean. You're here, right?" Spike asks and smirks. "What demonstration, slayer?" he asks.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers bites her lip, pondering his words. He sure makes a good argument. Maybe vampires could wait for one more night while she relaxes just for once. She sighs tiredly, glancing over at the cozy couch and extra beers laying around. And that popcorn wasn't half bad. "Well..I guess I could take it easy for one day. I did do a quick run around on my way here afterall.." she yawns and stretches, only now realizing how tired she is. "Oh..Nithing, forget I said anything. But, I know you enjoy getting beaten up by me, vampire. " she smirks, "Get some kinda kick out of it, do you?"

Spike has posed:
Spike watches with a smile. "Se" he says and looks amused. "A demonstration of how you sleep on a couch?" he says as Spike smiles and crosses to the couch again, settling back on it. "I mean, I could take your patrol tonight if you want to sleep here" he offers, before he even realizes what he's saying. "Though if you don't want me to patrol I'll keep you company"

Open mouth. Insert entire leg, Spike....

"You noticed I enjoy getting beaten up huh?" Spike asks with a deadpan tone to Buffy. "Honestly....yeah, it makes me feel alive thanks to this damn chip in my head. I can't fight you back. That's the thing" Spike says simply, shaking his head. "But I can dust vampires and demons and everything else. So" Spike shrugs, "Oh yeah you're right. I do grab the wallets before I dust vampires. You're perceptive, Slayer" Spike says.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers arches a brow, shaking her head. "Um no. I meant a demo on how to beat up a vampire, even when I'm tired and just...." she shrugs and shakes her head, flopping tiredly on the couch. "No. I don't need you to do my job for me. That's just pure laziness..Its fine, I just need a breather, Ill do it later. Or tomorrow. Of course if you come with me, I can just do half the work. It's a big wide world out there beyond Sunnydale, see. Such bigger territory to patrol now.." she smirks, "Seriously, doing this to you, makes you feel alive?" she reaches out to grab his face with her hands, but finds it harder to punch him when she's not mad at him and when he isn't mad at her for punching him. So she just hesitates instead.

Spike has posed:
Spike nods and looks at her fingers, then puts his face by her fingers. "Tell you what" he says with a nod. "Well if we both patrol we can make this patrol work better right?" he asks, watching Buffy. "C'mon, We're both on the same page, You want to just forget about patrols for one night, right?" Spike says, his voice gentle."If you just sit there and eat popcorn and drink beer and fall asleep I won't get mad at you" Spike offers, all but saying 'Hey, crash here if you need it'.

Looking to the door then to Buffy Spike smiles. "C'mere" he says softly. He's hesitating too. He's agreeing with Buffy. Being a 'good vampire' is going against everything Spike /is/....but......but.....

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, still cupping his face in her hands. She should be punching him right about now, but instead finds herself tracing his cheekbones with her fingers, admiring his piercing dark eyes and brushing a strand of that crazy Billy Idol hair out of his face. Dammit. "Geez..You are so..Annoying." she shoves him away m, busting herself with popcorn and beer. Because she's starved and hasn't had time to eat tonight. "Forget it, I can't crash here tonight.." she yawns..So tired. "Yeah, I just need some fresh air.." she tiredly rests her head back against the couch, squeezing her eyes shut. She's been working too hard, not enough fun..

Spike has posed:
Spike smiles watching her, looking sad when she shoves him away. "I'm annoying?" he asks sounding upset a little. Settling back on the couch Spike smiles. "I'm annoying huh....why?" he asks looking over at the Slayer and is trying not to smile. Still though, his eyes betray how nice it was when Buffy was stroking his face. Spike may not be saying much, but his eyes still give it away.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers bites her lip. "Well..You keep toying with me, like I'm some idiot star struck teenage girl, like I don't have responsibilities or anything better to do than hang around here." she sighs, stretching. "Whatever happened to evil Spike who regularly attacked the scoobies and tried to kill the Slayer? At least I understood that Spike.

Spike has posed:
Spike laughs,"I'm not even toying with you though" he says. "Or at least, I don't think I am" he shrugs and looks amused."Though you keep biting your lip it may give me ideas" Spike adds and smiles "Whatever happened to evil me? I changed, Buffy. I can't hurt people"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers laughs, "Not toying with me. Yea right. That's what you do best, mess with people's minds." she shrugs, "Yea, you've changed and maybe I'm just harsh on you, I guess it's just hard to forget the past five years or so. But if you could have that chip removed right now, tell me, what would you do? Would you try and kill me? Would you go back to your evil ways?" she leans in close to him, merely a hair's breadth away from his face. "Tell me, what's the most important thing to you, now that Drusilla is no longer in your life?"

Spike has posed:
Spike listens and looks like he's actually thinking on it. "What's the most important thing?" Spike assks. "Welll. If I could get that chip out I'd be the same old me. Having this thing in has taught me a lot, Buffy" he says gently. Given she's so close to him...it's not a huge leap to imagine him kissing her. He waits for a moment, waiting for her to make a move, then reaches out wanting to....in theory, hug her. He's whispering noww. "The most important thing....is being there for my friends, there for people who deserve it. You" Spike says gently. "Deserve that, Buffy. You deserve me helping you. Not toying with you. You deserve to be happy. So do I buffy. You" he says gently. "Make me happy. I smile when I see you. Not the I want to drink your blood smile. The 'There is Buffy' smile. You know?" Spike asks with a gentle look in his eyes. It's.....almost compassion and there's a sincerity to them. He's reaching his arms out to hug Buffy...and leaning ever so slightly closer aiming for a kiss. He's, admittedly, trouble.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, a little confused. "Spike..Where is all this stuff even coming from? I mean, sure, you've been helping us to fight demons but.." she pauses a moment, as if mesmerized. True, she's attracted to him. If she'd only give him a chance, but for some reason..She pulls away as he tries to draw her close, although still sitting close to him. For once at least, she didn't just punch him into oblivion. She just seems..Confused, conflicted perhaps. "This is crazy! All I ever do is push you around. What, you get a high out of it or something?"

Spike has posed:
Spike nods. "You don't trust me, Buffy. I get it. But come on. I've helped you out. You bring me pig's blood" he says and nods. "In a novelty mug, no less" he adds with a shrug. "In a novelty mug, no less" Spike adds and looks to Buffy. "Look. Think of it like this. Every moment I'm helping you is a moment I'm not out to kill you, right? Believe me. Do I have to...I don't know....show you I don't want to hurt you?" Spike asks looking serious for a moment. "Look. How can I make you believe what I'm saying. I....I get it. You're the Slayer. Kill vampires, save the world. But I'm a good vampire. I'm on your side. You got me to patrol with you. Isn't that nice, patrollling and just talking about anything?" he asks wit h a smile. "I mean. Who else can I rant about Passions to? Willow never wants me to, and Oz....he's not seen the show, or at least that he'll admit to" Spike adds, tossing an arm ovr the back of the couch sitting on the arm watching Buffy with an equally confused look.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers sighs, resting her head against the couch, kind of not minding the subtly touch of his arm resting behind her. "You know..I guess you're right. You're practically a Scoobie." she half-smiles, reaching for another drink and some pop corn. "But..You know I don't like being pushed, Spike. I mean, you're not a half-bad guy when you're not evil..But why don't we just let whatever happens happen? No pressure, no biggie." it's a cop-out and she knows it. She's afraid of..Something and not letting him in. Even if she won't admit it to herself. "I should really go patrolling soon, maybe it'll help me clear my head."

Spike has posed:
"Want me to come with you and take the other side of things?" Spike asks then looks to Buffy. He knows it's a cop out too. Instead, he just waggles his fingers slowly, the hand that's behind Buffy. "Whatever happens, happens. And I'm practically a Scooby? WHere's the membdership card and the other things?" he asks with a grin, though his other hand is digging into popcorn. "You know, this is nice sitting here on the couch with you" he says, letting his guard slip just a bit. It's in his eyes when he says it, his guard lowers more. "See, I'm a Scooby, I'm one of the gang. So" Spike smiles. "I made it, didn't I?I went from evil to accepted. That's something, right?" he asks, looking genuinely pleased, and his defenses come down when he does. Buffy means a lot to him, and the way he looks at her says it. Compassion, kindness, honesty in his eyes, there's a flicker in them that's not evil at all. Instead he smiles. "You know. I enjoy hanging out with you, Buffy. You don't have to punch me to make a point" Spike adds with genuine honesty. No sarcasm, no bull. Spike's opening up to Buffy. "You, Buffy, are something else. You've not staked me even though you could have. You've accepted me into the Scoobies. Why?" he asks with a smile.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers still hungrily digs her hand in the popcorn bowl as well, accidently brushing against his hand on more than one occasion as she does so. "Mmmm this is sooo good. What did you put in it, anyway?" yep, she's totally copping out, avoiding the big elephant in the room. And other stuff. "Sure, sure. We can do a patrol, might as well put you to some good use." she's still taking jabs at him, teasing him although more gently than she used to at least. Maybe? "You know why. Do you really have to ask? You're more use to me alive than dead." she bites her lip. That seemed..Harsh. "I mean..Its more than that. It's.." she shakes her head, shutting her mouth. "That's all there is."
