Synopsis: The Slayer and Wolverine have a long chat after the barbecue
Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Buffy Summers

Wolverine has posed:
After the barbecue, which ended up turning into a whole different thing than Logan had intended - he barely got to say two words to Buffy - they had come to his cabin on the way back to Sunnydale. It was hard to talk on the bike, even with his hearing, so the bike came to a stop outside a handmade log cabin. Though it did have some obvious fixtures, like there was power going into it from a generator outside.

Getting off the bike, he had let her drive this part of the way, unlike the drive up, where she had to wrap her arms around his torso. "Home sweet home," he said, heading over to the generator, which he turned to a higher power level. He liked to leave it going, so it would keep the stuff in the fridge and freezers cold, but no need for high output if he wasn't home.

Opening the door, he held it open for her. "Thanks fer the detour Buffy, figured we didn't get to talk too much on campus." He'd follow her in, and immediately turn the lights on, as it had gotten late. There was even a television, since he had a satellite dish on the roof. He might be content to be on his own, but he was still human. "Want something t' drink?"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers had never ridden a bike before (and honestly, she has always been a terrible car driver). However, Logan must have been an exceptional teacher, because she managed not to crash his bike on the way back.

"Phew, we're here..And I think we're at least mostly in one piece!" she jokes rather cheerfully as she steps off the bike, just slightly shaky from the ride. Sure, she has super healing, but unlike Logan's, her's isn't super enough to prevent her from severe damage if she fell off a fast moving vehicle and hit her head.

Either way, she rather enjoyed having his hands wrapped around it, not like she'd admit it aloud. "Hey, thanks for letting me try your bike out. I'm surprised I didn't crash it. It was also fun to meet your friends at your school. But wow, I had no idea it was such a special school.."

She grimaces, remembering Scott's reaction, "I hope Scott's not too upset about you inviting me there.."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan got himself a beer. He drank a lot, having been drinking during the barbecue, and still now, yet he didn't seem the least bit impaired. Especially on the bike. Whenever there was even a hint of danger, he steadied things, gave her encouragement. He didn't seem it from that gruff exterior, and especially from the way he seemed to tease Scott Summers, but yeah, he was a damn fine teacher when he wanted to be. He'd been there, seen it all, and decided against getting the t-shirt.

The ride had been a little bumpy, not that he had a problem with that, given he had to wrap his arms around her on the way here, but nothing unexpected. It was after all her first time. "My pleasure, you handled it better than I did the first time out." Moving over, he set his beer down on a coaster, handmade by the look of it, and the table too. Then he went over and started the fire a bit. It got cold out here at night.

"It's, yeah, it's a special school, some o' them are special needs, some are gifted intellectually, they aren't all mutants, but most are, or metahuman, whatever you want to call 'em. We focus on kids who need help." He was giving out some trade secrets, but nothing she didn't already know, or could guess at. "As fer Scott, he's not so bad. I just like giving 'em a hard time. Don't tell him this, but he's a good guy, solid, just, got a stick up his butt somethin' fierce."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers shivers a bit as night approaches. She didn't think to wear much more than a white tanktop and her red leather pants as it starting out being such a warm and sunny day. She shuffles closer to the fire, warming her hands over it. Hey, it didn't help that the wind was whipping her al the way here either.

"I never knew, I'm sorry if my being there caused problems. I really do know what it's like to have a secret from the world. I mean, I'm not a mutant and I know how much hate they get in the news, but yeah, being a slayer is kinda a heavy burden." she smiles, "Well that's cool, I promise I wont tell anyone about the school..Although I wonder how safe they are, out in the open like that?"

She peers a little more intently at him however, "However, I still haven't quite figured you out. My best guess is, you have some sort of bones of steel, super strength to carry around such a solid frame, probably super healing, who knows what else?"

Wolverine has posed:
Seeing Buffy shivering the way she was, Logan stoked the first some more, trying to get it roaring. Still, it'd take a while before the cabin would be piping hot, so he turned and headed towards another room, coming back with a sweater, it was the kind the school issues, navy blue with yellow accents, and that little Xavier's School logo on the chest. "Here ya go, Buffy, should keep ya warm until the fire builds up."

Moving back towards the couch, he took a seat, "nah, yer being there didn't cause problems. Scott and I, well, we don't see eye to eye on much. And they're safe, trust me on that one." The way he said it suggested heaven help anyone who tried to stir up trouble at that school.

"I got a healin' factor, makes me recover from injuries, exercise, anything, really quick. The claws, well, I was born with them." He didn't bring up that the metal came afterwards. "They're all metal. Makes it harder t' swim, but not impossible. How bout you?"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers is only too grateful for the extra warmth of the sweater, although it's a little big when she pulls it on. "Hah! I guess I wont win any fashion contests but hey, feels way better. Thanks!" she does notice the scent a little, which makes her smile.

"Well, that's good to know, it's nice to know I have family out here, sometimes I can feel a little isolated. They all seem a good bunch though."

Buffy smiles a little as she watches him thoughtfully, "Hmm, I get the feeling you've got more than just a healing factor. You're pretty kickass on the field, did you work in the military before, or something? I mean, I usually don't have to work so hard to take someone down, and ouch, that kinda hurt!"

She chuckles, "Me? I'm the slayer, super strength, speed, reflexes, healing..But not as much as you I dont think. It'd be cooler if it didn't come with so much responsibility.."

Wolverine has posed:
"Yeah, sorry about that that, don't have anything smaller," since it was incredibly rare for women to be over at his cabin, and even less likely for someone to leave their clothes around. "They're good people, Scott and Alex. Scott has a lot of weight on his shoulders. He takes responsibility very seriously. I don't know anyone more driven than him. Alex, well he's the younger brother, and everything that entails."

"Yer family to them, and that extends to the school. Buffy, you are welcome anytime. You made a good impression on him. I just kind of ruined it. He's just too easy to wind up. Don't tell him any o' this. Look, he's the preppy, the human ken doll. I'm the guy with the motorcycle and the leather jacket. We're too different to ever really be close, but I respect him a lot."

He gestured for her to sit down, either beside him on the couch, or one of the chairs, "you sure you don't want anything to drink? What's it like, being the Slayer, fightin' demons and vampires?"

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers hmms, "Don't worry about it, I appreciate it. Really! I'm just being silly." she chuckles and nods, sitting down next to him on the couch, "Wow, this sure is a cozy spot. You just live out here on your own? Must get lonely.."

As for Scott and Alex, she nods again, "Well that's cool. So is he the leader then? I guess I can see he would be the type. A little uptight, but if he's got all that responsibility on his shoulders, I guess I can see why. Keeping all those kids safe from the outside world..Guess he's lucky he's got a joker like you to keep his life a little interesting huh?" she winks, obviously teasing him.

"Well, I could always do with a beer or any other alcohol if you have some..Sometimes it's a little tiring, trying to juggle school and work and slayering.." she shrugs, "Well, I mean, it's kind of cool, having powers, feeling nearly invincible, getting to save the world a couple times in your life. But there's the down side too, all this responsibility on my shoulders, knowing that if I'm not out there constantly patrolling 24/7, then someone could die and it'd be my fault. Knowing there are hundreds of demons out there for the Slayer's blood. I guess sometimes it can feel a little lonely. I mean, I'm the only Slayer there is. We don't have a superhero team or anything."

Wolverine has posed:
"Yeah," he said, but was that to him living on his own, the lonely part, or both? He didn't sound too bad when he uttered it, but there was this weird look in his eye, almost wistful. Thankfully, the conversation turns back to Scott and Alex Summers. "A joker? I ain't been saddled with that one before, Buffy." He laughed a little. He wasn't usually a joker, though he did enjoy ruffling Scott's feathers. Just something about that guy. He was so uptight that Logan felt the need to knock him down a peg or two when he could.

Getting up, Logan headed over towards the fridge, coming back with a beer in one hand and a pink fruity looking flavoured vodka drink. "Yer choice, but I've had this stuff forever. I think it was some kind of housewarming joke." He was making fun of it, but he also knew girls often liked sugary alcoholic beverages.

"You'll go crazy thinking like that. Life's a series of choices. You help those you can, and when you can't, that's life. You can't be everywhere. No one can. Superman and Flash can't save everybody. Just make the right choices when they're presented to ya, and you'll be fine. 'sides, now ya got me helping to patrol Bludhaven too. I like that town. It's really growing on me. Nice people. I wanna help 'em out."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles, "Yeah, a joker." she chuckles, playfully elbowing him again, "I'm only kidding. I know you take your job seriously too. Scott's lucky to have someone on your team." When he offers her a choice between beer and sugary vodka, Buffy naturally picks the sugary Vodka. "Hey, I need my energy after all the running around." she grins, taking it and poppping open the can, chugging down a good deal in one sip. "Thanks! That really hits the spot."

As for his sage advice, she just nods and smiles again, "Yeah, I guess you're right. As long as I do my best, maybe it's good enough. Heck, maybe it's okay to take a break once in a while.." she arches a brow at his offer. "Ooh, Mister Logan, are you offering to accompany me on a couple of patrols? I know you probably have your hands full at the school but I'd love your company." maybe she sounded a teeny bit too eager there.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan smiles, having more fun tonight than he had in a very long time. He squirms away from the playful elbowing, but not too far. "Thanks, there's plenty more of that if you want it." He took the beer, having finished his earlier one. "I don't buy that fer a minute. You got stamina fer days. I saw you fight, the vampires, and against me in the park."

"I suppose I am. Somebody's gotta make sure that nobody robs you of that pretty little smile o' years. And fer the right person, you make time. It'd be a pleasure to patrol with you, or more, up to you." He left it hanging, but the glance he gave her suggested he did not lack for confidence.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers nods, "Yeah, I do, but mental stamina? Guess sometimes I get tired of not having enough fun. I always have to be the 'responsible one' y'know? Especially after a certain other slayer went all rogue on me, and then my sis came back, so have to be a good role model for her." she shrugs, "But heey, camping, outside! With fires and couches..And a fridge!" she grins, raising her glass in toast. "I approve! Totally fun!"

She smiles, "I'd appreciate it. It's break up the monotony, although I gotta warn you, there is a certain..Vampire..Ally of mine, he is not to be staked, even though he deserves it sometimes." she rolls her eyes.

Wolverine has posed:
It was nice to sit and listen to her talk. He was curious about her life, and liked the sound of her voice. She had just the right amount of pep and zazz, so full of life. He'd become jaded over his long life, and it was nice to be around someone so spirited. Logan nodded along, asking a few questions along the way, but not wanting to disrupt her flow. "Ya gotta make time to unwind, relax, and have fun. Life ain't worth living if it's all pain and work." It was so weird having that come from him.

Still, he knew the value of down time better than most. He just had a funny way of spending that down time. "Other slayer? I thought there was only one?" And then she drops a bombshell. "Hannibal King or Blade? Which one's gotten on yer good side?" Seems he'd had run ins with some good vampires in the past too. He moved to rest his arm on the back of the couch, though it fell down a bit, drifting to her shoulder. He didn't seem to notice.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers arches a brow. "Hannibal King? Blade? I've never even heard of them..Who are they even?" she laughs, this sure is a strange world outside of Sunnydale. "Nah, her name is Faith, as far as I know, all slayers are girls, triggered when the previous slayer dies." which means she must have died at some point.

Wolverine has posed:
"Vampires, well, sorta. I heard King got injected with something to turn him into a vampire, and Blade's mom got turned while pregnant. Not sure if it's true, but I figure stories that crazy gotta be true. Both are good people, assholes, but good people. So... if there's only ever one Slayer, and now two, what happened?" His voice was comforting, deliberately so, but he gave her a gentle squeeze with the arm around her shoulder, trying to make sure she felt at ease, that she could tell him anything.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers frowns, "got himself injected? I didn't think that was possible. I mean, getting turned is a complex procedure as it is. I wonder if he did it voluntarily or not?" she smiles, leaning back on the seat, not really minding the brush of his hand against her back but not saying anything either. Maybe she didn't notice. "Soo what, this Blade guy's a good vampire too? I suppose if he was turned before her was born, maybe he has a soul or something too. Wow..That must be tough though, I know how tough it is on Angel.." she sighs, and shrugs, "Mm well, it's a funny thing. I kinda..Died briefly, once. Long story short, the Master, a super vamp of sorts, nearly killed me and dropped me in some water where I drowned..Before my friends came and revived me. So technically I was 'dead' for a minute or two. But fortunately I survived, but it was enough to trigger the a wakenning of another slayer.." she sighs, "Faith is out there somewhere though, probably wrecking havok after the whole Ascension thing.." she glances at him, presing into his arm a little, smiling. "It's alright. Just part of the job description. But you seem to be pretty familiar with Vampires. Why, you weren't even surprised when you came across those guys in the cemetary. That wasn't your first brush with vamps, was it?" Buffy takes another long sip of her sugary drink, and seems to get drunk fairly easily.

Wolverine has posed:
"Souls?" Logan didn't believe in such things, but he wasn't about to start a fight over it. He didn't realise she was so religious, still, didn't bother him, just something new he learned. "And Angels?" He paused, not sure what to ask about either, so he doesn't press, moving onto the talk of Blade. "Blade's an asshole, but he fights bad guys. So I guess that makes him good. He's got a chip on his shoulder the size of Rhode Island. Suppose that happens when yer mom dies in childbirth. Got turned. Dusted. Whatever."

"You died?" He says, surprised, and looking at her closely. He instinctively tried to pull her a little into him, protectively. He nodded along with her story, before explaining, "no, I've... vampires have been around a lot longer than me. Can't remember the first time I met one. Before the Great War," yeah, he's referring to World War 1 as the Great War. How old was he?

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles, "What's wrong, dont believe in souls and angels? Or God?" she shrugs, "well to each their own..Actually Angel is his name. He's a vampire with a soul. Most vamps don't have souls, which is why they're evil, heartless creatures that kill without thought. But Angel's got a curse on him and the gypsies gave him back his soul..Unless he has a moment of...Gosh, I talk a lot when I'm drunk, don't I?" she chuckles, pulling her legs up to her knees, getting a little too comfy on the couch. "Sorry, I guess there's a lot of stuff in the slayer world that I really shouldn't be talking about, but then I guess you told me about your world so were pretty even now maybe?" she smiles, "Just..Don't go around telling people that I'm a slayer. Or about Angel or Spike or..Yeah.."

He talks about some great war and she arches a brow, leaning a little closer to get a good look at him. "Great war, huh? Just..How exactly how old are you, if you don't mind me asking?"

Wolverine has posed:
"I don't know. When Thor and Hercules are out there, Amazons, I guess it gets harder to take some things seriously. These other gods exist. I've met some o' them. But I ain't ever seen anything from the popular religions." He didn't have that kind of faith. It had long gone out of him, if it was ever there in the first place. He was pretty sure she left a part out of that speech about Angel, but he was going to let her off the hook.

"Nah, it's okay. I like hearing 'bout it. I like hearin' about you. An' anything you tell me stays between us, 'cept earlier. But you being family, I thought you two should know that yer both special, in that other kind o' way. The superpowers kind."

"Spike?" He asks, hearing a new name. "So, don't dust Angel, got it. Eh... I don't really know. Healing factor can repair damage, but not memories. Some got jumbled, and other things. But I think, about 200, give or take. Haven't really aged since my twenties. My twenties, not the twenties."

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smirks, "Yeah, I guess so. I mean, I've never met any of them, but I've heard of them. I mean, I'm not terribly religious myself but..Well, I guess I've seen enough to believe in and respect a higher power, although I can't say I follow any particular faith." she shrugs, "I suppose having a near brush with death made me a little more curious about the afterlife though.."

She arches a brow at what he says next, smiling a little. "Oh yeah? Well..You're not so bad company yourself, Mister Logan." she's almost teasing with the name there, pretending to be all formal; He's a teacher afterall, right? Who knows how old he is? Or if they should be so casual with each other.

"Yeah.." she sighs, leaning a bit in towards him, enjoying the touch of his arm against her back. "He's...Ahh, it's complicated.." she seems to stumble just the slightest bit as she speaks of him. "A vampire who was captured by a secret organization and a chip was placed in his head so he can't harm people. He's...I dunno.."

Really, Buffy doesn't know what to think of him as she closes her eyes for a moment, leaning back against the sofa. "Just..Don't dust him either if you see him, 'k? He's a crazy cute guy, wears a long black duster, looks a lot like Billy Idol.." she idly wonders if she should introduce him to spike some day..Although it'll likely end in bloodshed.

"Oh..Wait...You're 200 years? Really?" that causes a little laugh from her, shaking her head. "What is it with me and Centurians? Really?"

Wolverine has posed:
"I'll have ta introduce ya. Thor's a pretty regular guy, for a God, kind of like a high school jock, at least the way they're depicted in movies." Yeah, high school didn't exist when Logan was a kid and he gets a different perspective as a teacher. Nobody bullies anyone around him at Xavier's School.

"You don't have to call me Mister Logan," though he did kind of like the way she teased it, "my students call me that. You can call me whatever ya want. And no, I ain't got any other names. It's just Logan. Like Drake."

"Sounds like something S.H.I.E.L.D. might be up to, some black book project o' theres. Computer chips in vampires. What'll they think of next?" Noting that she's getting tired, he debated whether to drive her home. The motorcycle was out if she was this tired. He could go back to the mansion and grab a car, probably Scott's, and without asking, or maybe just let her sleep in his bed. He could take the Sofa. He knew she was in college and lived in her own apartment. Didn't know if she had a roommate or anything, but at least it wouldn't be too bad if she didn't get home tonight.

"It's all right, Angel and Spike're safe from me. Well, as long as I don't see them trying to eat somebody. You say one's got a soul and the other a chip. Fair enough." That last comment about centurions made him smile. He was pretty sure she had dated one of them, or both. A Vampire Slayer with a Vampire? He couldn't make this stuff up.

Buffy Summers has posed:
Buffy Summers smiles, "Logan huh. Got a nice ring to it. I guess it feels a little awkward, I mean..You know..You're a teacher, and I'm a student, but not at that school." she shrugs, Ugh, that was such an awkward thing to say. "I mean..That's why I wasn't sure if I should call you professor or what." Or what indeed.

As for chips, Buffy just smirks, "Call themselves the initiative, yeah, something like SHIELD I imagine. Shady people.." she yawns a bit again, her eyelids getting heavy as she curls up on the sofa. "Hmm, thanks for staying up with me, Logan, I think I li--" and just like that, she flops over, passed out either from alcohol or sheer exhaustion.

Wolverine has posed:
With Buffy falling asleep at exactly the wrong moment, Logan takes a long look at her, brushing her hair, tidying it up, and appreciating her for a moment. So pretty and yet so young. He shook his head, "what are you doing old man?" He spoke aloud, and picked her up, leaving the drinks, so he could carry her off to bed, where he'd slip her under the covers, which were warm and toasty. Almost too hot, but not quite. Then he'd go back and clean up, before settling down for a night on the couch.
