Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Thor, Beta Ray Bill

Thor has posed:
Here, in the skeletal structure that might one day become a grand hall, indeed, the King of New Asgard rests on a throne. Of sorts. For now, it is a well fashioned chair, carved from old wood, hand crafted by the finest artisans left among the Asgardians who have come to claim Earth as their new home. Thor Odinson looks ill fit to be a king, however. Not that his bearing is not noble. No, far from it. His features are proud, his eyes of sky blue and copper possessed of both kindness and intellect. But as he sits, he maintains a casual slouch, half leaned over to one side, back resting, his rear pushed towards the edge of the seat.

His attire, too, is a bit more casual than one might expect. Gone is his majestic cape. His glistening armor. His polished helm. No. Instead, he wears shaggy, short cropped sandy blonde hair, and a thick, russet beard. His vestment consists of an intricately lined armored vest, in black, accentuated with silver disks at his shoulders, midsection and waist. Black bracers are worn over red wrist wraps. Leather pants with intricate piped seams and armored panels cover his legs, and armored boots adorn his feet.

But mostly, he looks bored. He is attending to his subjects, who each bring to him a bit of news about their progress, or a concern with their new state of being. Most are just arguments for why Midgard is unsuitable for their ilk. How the peoples of Midgard are confusing at best, and distasteful at worst. Some argue that they should expand their territories, and take their rightful place as Gods among men. Each is met with a bored gaze, a cursory acknowledgement of their plight, and then moved on.

Is this truly what it means to rule?

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
Twas a quiet day in New Asgard, no doubt King Thor was hard at work keeping this new home of the Asgardian people (temporary or permanent) in good enough shape to give the people a strong presence where they were. Namely in the Fortress Asgard, which appeared to still be being built, There is perhaps the sound of thunder in the air.

But it wasn't from the King.

Beta Ray Billl.

The lightning crackles along the sky as Beta Ray Bill breaks orbit, and coming down hot towards Asgard. Worthy of the mighty Stormbreaker, brother hammer to the mighty Mjolnir, the Korbinite opens the work in progress gates to the throne room, and he sees Thor.

"My liege." Bill salutes and bows before the King. "I heard the tale across the galaxy. I apologize that I did not arrive sooner."

Thor has posed:
When the skies open with the thunder, Thor's weary gaze lifts to the heavens. His posture straightens. Could this be Perun coming to challenge him, one Thunder God to another? Perhaps Susanoo. Raiden. Perun was most likely. Still, anything that might break the monotony draws Thor's keen interest. His shoulders square, and he scoots his rear back in his seat, laying both hands on the arms of his throne and preparing as the sky splits and discharges forth the mysterious Thunderer.

    Only to find... Bill?

For a few long moments, Thor sits still, his ruggedly handsome features stern and brooding, his eyes fixated upon the Mighty Korbinite before him. Even as the other bows, he remains a picture of stoicism, as if he may very well rebuke the apology of the Worthy.

"BILL!!!" He finally bellows, his face splitting with a beaming grin, eyes twinkling as he lifts his hands to his sides and rises from his seat and strides towards his friend, arms open. "My friend! It fills my heart with joy to see you well! How have you come to Midgard after all this time? I had expected that you would be busy with your own adventures!"

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
Beta Ray Bill was no Susanoo the Guardian, nor Perun the Wrathful, nor Raiden the Wise. But rather, he was the mortal who became a god. The divine power of Stormbreaker making him so. But, as soon as Thor bellows out his name, Beta Ray Bill rises to his full height, and drops Stormbreaker so its handle is sticking upwards. Yeah...probably nobody but Bill or Thor is lifting that weapon, so he sees no danger in leaving it there.

Bill approaches the Mighty King and he embraces him. "It is good to see you as well, my King." the question was a good one. Why was he on Midgard? There was little reason for such to happen, or at least perhaps in Thor's eyes. But its clear that Bill has a purpose.

"Remember, brother Thor. While I may not be a native son of the realm eternal, I still pledged my loyalty to Asgard under All-Father Odin....may he rest peacefully among the stars." there is an apology in his words. As if he were saying sorry that he didn't protect Odin from the inevitable Ragnarok. "I see that the new home suits you well?"

Thor has posed:
Thor clasps at Bill tightly, giving the traditional three solid slaps on the back, before parting just enough so that he can curl thick fingers in the Space Horse's garb, so excited to see him is he. He gives a faint tug, and then smooths it out, while giving Bill a once over and one last pat on the chest.

"Brother," He says, before stepping back, holding Bill at arm's length. "You need not call me King. The word coming forth from your lips feels cumbersome towards me. We are brothers, first. It soothes my heart to have you here, at my side."

His pledge remembered, and Odin invoked, Thor's smile diminishes slightly, a look of tension and weariness just lurking in the corners of his eyes. His smile becomes bittersweet, and he gives a nod of his head. "My father's fate was written, and he lived his destiny, and lived it well. We can only ask for the same. But come. Make yourself at home, for New Asgard will always have a place for you. Midgard is a wondrous Realm, and it has always been a home to me. While some of our people might still need adjustment, this will, in time, be a fine home for us."

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
Bill doesn't seem to mind the touch and the smoothing of his battle armor. When he is given permission to not call Thor King, Beta Ray Bill seems to smile just a tad (hard to tell) and he nods. "Very well Brother." They were not brothers through blood, no, but they were brothers through bond. Through trial. Through respect.

...that, and they might as well be brothers in Hammers!

Bill is no fool to the feeling of sensitivity, and he shows sympathy. "I thank you, Brother Thor. The cosmos have been a long road...but I feel as if I have not yet done enough. But my focus is Asgard." he then looks around the work-in-progress hall. A far cry from the Golden Hall that Odin had created, but Thor was still fresh in his reign. "I believe you. As I swore long ago..."

With a gesture of his hand, Stormbreaker flies back to Bill's grasp at breakneck speeds. "I will help in any way I can, should the desire be present."

Thor has posed:
Thor gives a curt nod of his head when given thanks, though he does furrow his brow when Bill claims his feelings of having not done enough. He knows all too well the level of guilt one feels in the face of what seems like a failure that was impossible to prevent. He knows it all too well. To Thor, he has failed as a King even before he ever had a chance to become said king. He had failed to prevent Ragnarok. He had failed to protect his loved ones. He had failed to save most of his people from destruction. He has them here, on Midgard, on a tiny plot of land, where they feel like strangers in a strange land.

    And they are not wrong.

"There is always desire, and always work to be done. We have much building to do, as you may see before you. And still, Midgard faces many threats. They could always use another of the Mighty to protect them. The people of Midgard are a beautiful people, filled with monsters and heroes the likes of which you can find nowhere else in all the Nine Realms. They are worthy of our stewardship and guidance. But we must not be their masters, either. Their fate is their own."

He offers a small smile, and cocks his head in one direction away from the hall, and away from the city square. "We also have plenty of fields, which could be used to raise goats. I, myself, find the thought appealing."

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
"I agree." Bill admits with no hesitance whatsoever. "I believe that is partly why you will make a good leader for Asgard. We are defenders. We always have been. For you, it has always been Asgard. For me, it was my people, the Korbinites. We helped them...but they chose their own fate. Created their own destiny. Though now we are united once again, for the time being..I will help however I can. Be it as a warrior, or a builder."

...plus the fields are a pretty big game changer, lets be honest. Though Bill and goats have never gotten along. "But, I am uncertain if I will be able to walk among Midgardians as I appear now, lest they begin to fear me." To this end, Bill stamps the end of Stormbreaker onto the ground, causing him to transform into a human form, with Stormbreaker now as a Cane.

"...I believe the identity of Simon Walters will still suffice." because he learned from the last time he visited Midgard. He looks at Thor, as if asking his opinion of the identity. After all, if he is to be on Midgard for a brief time, he might as well at least TRY to fit in.

Thor has posed:
The compliment on what makes Thor a good leader does have the Thunderer's grin returning. While he, himself, often feels burdened under the weight of the crown, and like an objective failure, hearing praise from Bill directly does well to stir his spirits in a more positive direction. It is a renewal of his confidence, which has been waning in recent days.

"Your help will be most welcome, that I can assure you."

Bill does bring up a good point about his appearance, however. He is alien, and very alien in appearance. Some might find him frightful. Of course, he would find no such qualms in New Asgard.

"Simon Walters will do well in the world of Midgard, Oath-Brother, but you need never hide your face here, in your home. You're too beautiful to hide, my friend!"

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
While Thor seems to assure that 'Simon Walters' will do good in his current state on Midgard, Bill is clearly happy to hear that his true appearance is preferred in the realm eternal. "I am glad to hear it, though you flatter my appearance, Oath-brother."

Bill stamps Stormbreaker again to return to his true form as a Korbinite, with Stormbreaker turning from a cane to its true war maul form. Nonetheless, Asgard was good in this way, for it knew the creatures of the Nine Realms. New that there were creatures who looked different than they.

"But I am curious...how many of us has survived? What of Loki, or Lady Sif?"

Thor has posed:
When Bill asks after the fates of others, Thor's gaze drifts downward. There is clearly loss and mourning in his expressive face. He looks heartbroken, as if he might break like a wave upon the stone. His shoulders slump, and his chest expands as he draws in a deep breath.

"Not all made it. Loki is here, and is doing well. He is my closest advisor," He starts. Because that is the good news. But, when he casts mismatched eyes upward, he continues, "Those others whom you may have known well... are lost. In the chaos of all that has happened... I can only pray that they are out there, among the stars, perhaps trapped among the Realms. I can only hope to find the means, yet, to draw those who have become lost back to us. Lady Sif, among them."

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
Beta Ray Bill had become very close to Sif the last time he had been in Asgard. Its very clear that he seems greatly saddened at even the possibility that she didn't survive Ragnarok. But at least Loki was alright.

He wondered about Heimdall and Balder, but he doesn't want to ask...just in case something horrible has truly happened. "I would search for them...bring them home. After all, if this is to become the permanent home of Asgard, it must have its heroes."

Thor has posed:
"Then, my Oath-Brother, let that be your task. If you should declare Thor Odinson to be your King, and New Asgard to be your Realm, that you wish to Champion and Aid," Thor says, as he lifts one of his trunklike arms, his hand open and loose. From somewhere in the distance, there is a strange, metallic ringing sound that grows louder until Mjolnir flies to his hand. "Then your service to your Kingdom shall be this. Seek out the survivors of Asgard's destruction among all the Realms. Guide them home, to hearth and succor, here, where they might know their own once again. Where they might find peace. And for those whom you may find that did not survive... Bring bodies or words, so that they may be properly honored."

With that, the Odinson steps forward, once more, to his brother in arms. His own hammer is raised, and gently tapped upon Bill's shoulder. Raised overhead, and then lain to rest on the other shoulder.

"You may come and go freely as you perform your quest, and as I have offered, you will always have a home here, to take refuge when you grow weary. Rest now, my brother. Explore this new land, and take in its sights. The burden of rule calls back to me once more, and I should get back to it."

Beta Ray Bill has posed:
As soon as Beta Ray Bill hears the ring of Mjolnir's coming, he doesn't even flinch. Especially since he's one of the few who is Worthy of the hammer. But, he is quite happy with Stormbreaker, and..in the past, Bill has even offered Stormbreaker to Thor once.

Once.

But he is given his quest, and Bill bows his head in reverence of the occasion, Stormbreaker in his hand.

"This I swear. I will search the stars and bring our people home, Oath-Brother. Thus sayeth Beta Ray Bill: Champion of Asgard."

Then, with a nod to Thor, who gives him permission to rest, Bill bows to Thor lightly, for he is still the King, before Bill throws Stormbreaker only to hold onto the leather thong on its end. He flies off into the distance, likely to begin his thorough exploration.
