Date of Scene: 05 July 2019

Synopsis: Beast and Kitty discuss matters while Alek downloads Sentinel computers from his brain
Cast of Characters: Beast, Smart Alek, Shadowcat

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy is teaching a class this afternoon! While most students have the summer off, Hank is teaching a computer programming class. Because the class is small, he's actually giving each student an individualized course of instruction. Speaking to the two most advanced students, one 14, one 20, he says "Let's assume we were to be downloading a vast amount of information, say, a portion of a human brain. Consdier how you might organize that data for random and sequential access. And dismissed." They keep working, but they do so quietly.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek is currently in the back of the class, he's been all by himself, seemly staring at the screen. His hand is resting on the computer. The screen flickers enough to probably cause seizures in some but files fly by as they are uploaded from Alek's brain. A few stray thoughts even manage to get uploaded, an episode of MacGyver, the blueprints of the empire state building, an angry letter wanting Firefly to be uncancelled. He sighs a bit, "Organization is not something that I do well.. I guess I'm mostly random access memory."

Shadowcat has posed:
There's a very soft tap on the door as Kitty sticks her head in, looking to Beast to make sure it's ok to bring a cart of equipment in. She hears the end of the class and flashes a smile towards Hank, then another towards Alek. "Just bringing in some more memory, for Alek," Kitty says, pulling in a cart behind her. Perched atop some boxes on the cart is a purple dragon, his yellow eyes peering about. Though mostly he seems happy with playing gargoyle atop the boxes of hard drives.

Kitty wheels the cart over to a corner and begins pulling out some network appliance boxes so the drives can serve up to any of the computers in the room. Though really they are just meant for Alek to capture anything else he retrieves from the Sentinel facility. "How's the class going?" she asks, directing the question to both men. "You did really well from what I heard, Alek," Kitty says. "Really proud of how you contributed," she tells him. She begins sliding drives into the bays. The design is her own. Both the container to hold them and keep them cool, and the hard drives themselves.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy smiles as most of the kids who were inthe class pack up and dart off instantly. It's summer, of cousre, they can't be blamed. So he waves Kitty and her dragon on in, and approaches. "Fantastic. Classes are going well. So what are we up to today, Kitty, Alek?" The dragon he greets with a ruffle.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek says, "Just uploading a small bit of a network.. of people who don't like us. I'm glad my knacks can be put to good use, I like contributing.." his attention drifts a moment and a few corrupt files quickly cause that annoying windows tone.. he sighs and reuploads the files, "I do want to take a few programming classes...""

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty plugs in one of the storage devices, the fans starting up, and then checks her phone. The device registers itself with the network and hooks into the diagnostic systems that monitor everything and send out alerts if anything goes wrong.

Kitty smiles over to Hank. "Oh, enjoying the day off of work," she says. Though she is around the school a lot, she works for Stark Industries. "By... um... working. But it's for a good cause," she says, smiling over to Alek. When the rest of the students are gone, she tells Hank, "He was part of the raid on the Sentinel factory. Duplicated some of their systems. It's been very useful information, Alek," Kitty says, nodding to him. "The Avengers were interested in some of what we shared already."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy grabs a chair, one reinforced enough for him, and takes a seat behind Alek and to the side, out of the way but able to talk to everyone. Kitty's explanation leads him to slap Alek on the back. "Well done."

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek coughs a bit from the sudden slap... for a brief moment, the contact also allows him a quick glimpse of a unique cell structure. The file upload pauses and he glances behind him, "Your blue? Your Dr. Henry Hank McCoy... It's... an honor to be slapped by you sir" he smiles, "One of my heroes. And.. the blue part is just.. an observation sorry."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde finishes setting up the rest of the hard drives. "That should be enough," she says. She taps something into her phone. "Ok, these are now air gapped from everything but your computer, Alek. Want to be extra careful when we're grabbing something related to programming like the Sentinels."

Lockheed flaps his wings a few times and relocates over to Kitty's shoulder now that his boxes are all gone and she's finished with the work. "So, Hank, anything exciting been going on? We've been missing your talents at a number of times along the way,' she tells him.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy laughs. "I'm blue, don't worry about it, Alek. Just focus on what you're doing, and don't worry about hurting my feelings." Then looking over to Lockheed, as the dragon moves, nodding, he speaks to Kitty. "Not much, been giving talks, though I apparently ran into a serial murderer in Central Park late at night. I decided not to try to start a fight. I might regret that."

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek eyes drift a bit and he nods to himself and he looks back to the screen... the uploads begin again, files flickering by.. pictures and blue prints of sentinels, building layouts, network diagrams, and such. "I know you had your reasons.. being the good guy is always difficult"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty looks surprised to hear about the serial killer. "Wow. Yes, I hope it all goes ok. Maybe you can give the information to the police or someone," she suggests, frowning a bit. Kitty reaches up to pet Lockheed, running her fingers around the area where his horns go into his head. "Well, it's nice to have you back. Lots for us to work on, Hank. We got a bunch of new information that we can use to upgrade the devices that defeat the Sentinel's mutant detection powers, and also their power nullifier. Right now, the systems work, but they burn out after a bit," she tells him.

Kitty smiles to Alek and says, "I can't wait to get you in the training room and see what else you can do. I'd be happy to work with you on your programming too. I don't teach any of the classes, but I'd be happy to help you out there. I imagine Doug would too. We're both kind of hacker geeks when you come down to it," she says with a grin.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy sighs deeply and shakes his head. "She's one Harley Quinn. Claims to be a trained psychiatrist, but... is better known as an accomplice of a very bad man. She seemed very unwell. STarting a fight, alone, unprepared, just could not have gone well. AndI Don't think the police know what to do with her, either. And I'm happy to work on upgrades."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde hears that the person in question was Harley Quinn. Kitty stops for a moment and then lets out a sigh and shakes her head. "Of course she got out," Kitty says in a subdued tone. She seems to be taking it a little harder than one might expect. Especially if they don't know Kitty was one of the people who put Harley in Arkham this last time. Which pretty much no one in Westchester does. Except Lockheed. And the dragon knows how to keep a secret.

Kitty waves and then grabs the cart and pushes it on back out. Batman probably already knows that Harley is out, but she heads off to let him know, just in case.

Smart Alek has posed:
Alek says, "Sometimes people seem to be broken.. so badly they should really should have a way to store them safely." He shakes his head, "THat's horrible thing to say..." he continues his upload, "We can't help being ourselves sometimes right?""

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy smiles faintly. "You're just trying to be logical, and it takes practice to mix compassion into that. I hope we'll teach you that Alek. Looking forward to working with you."
