Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Isotope, Rift

Isotope has posed:
Xavier's School is a haven for mutants, especially young mutants. This summer alone seems like a scorcher, everyone likes a cool dip in the pool. Those students who've stayed the summer can always be found around it, lounging, enjoying music and the like. Brian, was no exception. The raven haired teen put his feet up on a lounger and relaxed, he'd managed to keep his powers in check, and didn't rely on his suit as much, so he had decided to join in the pool, where he could be in trunks and jump in if he wished.

Sunglasses on, Brian rested his hands behind his head and sighed happily. It was a good day, for the most part.

Rift has posed:
Rift smiles as she walks towards the pool, wearing a red bikini that nonetheless has decent coverage. "Oh, hey Brian," she states. She looks around. "I think I'm going to use the high dive," she muses. She looked normal at first, but starts to glow as she says this - her aura engulfs her entier body in a dull red light, washing out all the colors of herself and her bikini, while eerie glows appear inside her head, chest, arms, and legs - her eyes glow too. "Oh right, there isn't one. Easily fixed." She gestures, as a portal tears open by the edge of the pool. The parallel opens facing down above the deep end of the pool. She stares forward through the portal, to see the water 'below'. She then grins as she jumps through, and executes a perfect dive into the deep end.

Isotope has posed:
Brian turns his head, looking to Rift and gives a thumbs up, not speaking but showing approval of her bold choice.

It was only moments after did he remember that there wasn't a high dive, and he perched up in the chair, right as she made contact with the water. Of course, what would be the only response to this? A hearty clap of hands as a show of approval!

Rift has posed:
Rift grins as she surfaces. "Want to try?" she asks. "I can hold the portals open a while as long as I stay here." She gestures to the portals as she surfaces. She gestures to it. "See? You look through this portal to see the pool tweney feet below." She sticks her arm through it so you can see her arm sticking out of the portal in the air.

Isotope has posed:
Brian stands and walks up to the portal, looking down and raising his glasses to truly see all the way down. "Heh, sure!" A quick toss of his shades, and he hops in, tucking his legs and woohooing all the way into the water, a cannonball from the lithe teen and an uproarious laughter from some other classmates around the pool. After a few seconds, he rises through the water and inhales his first breath after. "That...was way too fun." He comments, a big smile on his face. It wasn't often that he emerged from his shell like that, especially in the last few months. But this was a great distraction from the doom and gloom of the outside world.

Rift has posed:
Rift smiles softly. "Yeah. My portals have a lot of different uses." She smiles softly as she gazes at you. "You seem a bit sad. What's wrong?" she finally asks, eyebrow raised, as she idly considers jumping again.

Isotope has posed:
Brian wades while he thinks a bit. "It's just...never thought this is how my summer would be. Or my life, really. All those people dying."

"And the whole...extracurricular thing, you know? Its just a lot to handle."

Rift has posed:
Rift nods slowly. "Yeah - I heard about it. But everyone's kindling is traumatic in their own way for the most part. I tore my house apart when my powers sparked." She shakes her head. "But nobody died at least..."

Isotope has posed:
"I'm just glad the Sentinels weren't around when my powers showed...all that to just get shot and vaporized. No thanks." Brian makes his way to the edge and rests his arms and chin on the pool's edge. "But I'm not sad, just bleh. Having the pool made it better."

Rift has posed:
Rift nods. "All I heard is that you exploded a gym - I didn't get the details." She makes sure nobody's about to use the portals and closes them - and then stops glowing with a brief sigh. "Maybe if you talk about it, it'd help you? OR... you probably heard that a lot lately, huh?"

Isotope has posed:
"Not really exploded, but the roof collapsed on us...it was...violent. After going all Ghostbusters on the gym. They found me in the hospital, offered to make me disappear. I took the offer."

"I've been meaning to talk to someone, but...I don't want to bother anyone, not right now." Brian of course, internalized most things, but not because he didn't want to talk, he mostly saw things as opportunities to help others, before himself.

Rift has posed:
Rift nods slowly. "So - what exactly do your powers do?" she asks softly as she flops on one of the plastic chaise lounges around the pool, as she gazes at you. "I never quite heard the details."

Isotope has posed:
Pulling himself out and grabbing those glasses of his, Brian returns to his lounger. "I put out a wave of energy, or beams. They're green, and usually burn whatever they touch. Dr. McCoy said it was akin to proton acceleration. It's...still being tested more. But after the mention of protons, I decided to call myself Isotope, even if there's no high radiation involved."

Rift has posed:
Rift nods. "Yeah. I go by Rift. Mostly due to the portals. My main powers are gravity control - I think portals are part of it - you know, bending a hole in spacetime? Something like that." She shrugs.

Isotope has posed:
"I dig it." Brian responds, lounging back as the water evaporates from his skin. "Science was always my favorite subject. A world of possibilities just waiting to be discovered."
