Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy is doing the audit he threatened, since he can't stand doing nothing. He has a tablet out, working through the X Men's systems. Mexican coke open on the conference table, feet up on the table, legs crossed. He's as comfortable as he is determined.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott walks into the room with coffee in hand.

"Morning, Hank. I wasn't expecting anyone to be down here."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy looks up, and slowly sets the tablet down. "Scott," he says with great, obviously fake enthusiasm. "Glad to see you. I'm working on my audit, finding out how the kids, who were kept in lock down while they were under the effects of an as-yet-unstudied, mind-altering substance, were allowed to walk out to parts unknwon because our security lockdown was deactivated."

Cyclops has posed:
"Security audit?" Scott asks. He comes over and takes a sip of his coffee.

"Could have saved you the trouble. I overrode the lockdown the morning after it was set."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy still has that frustrated smile on, but his body freezes when that comes out. Inhaling deeply, he puts the tablet down quiet gently. Very, very gently. Voice going softer, too. "May I ask why?" he asks, a definite feral rumble in his chest.

Cyclops has posed:
"It had been hours," Scott said with a slight frown. "We had ops and training to work on, and needed the base."

Sips his coffee again. "The girls took drugs, didn't they? Why was the base locked down in the first place?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy thumps his palm on the table. Still controlled, but there's a slight rattle. "Scott, did you see the brain scans? Their minds were being altered. It's now looking like that it was purely an attempt to addict them,b ut did you know that? Did you know they weren't going to sabotage the base, or blow it up, the secodn they were free?"

Cyclops has posed:
Scott looks surprised by Beast's reaction. "Sabotage the base? Why would they do that? Elixir, Rogue and Maximoff seemed fine. The girls were sleeping. I didn't see the risk, Hank."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy rests both of his hands on his face, and pushes his hair up a bit, a pretty normal look for him. "I... you gave me a panic when I found that out. It's going to work out but..." He thumps the table again and sighs. "That was a risk."

Cyclops has posed:
Scott winces slightly. It was rare to see Hank upset, and unheard of for it to be without reason.

"Which I didn't take the time to assess properly," Scott sighs. He thinks it over for a moment. "You're right. It was a bad call. I should have talked to you first."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy wasn't expecting that. His hands lift, he turtns, like he's about to start pacing around and make another point. But those words just defused the entire thing. He chuckles, and turns back. "Thank you. I appreciate that."

Cyclops has posed:
Scott takes another sip of his coffee. "You make a fair point, and you're the expert. I should have deferred to you. Can you help me understand how I should have seen the situation?" asks, more pragmatic and less prideful than he has offen been. "I don't want to make the same mistake again, but I still don't get why you were so worried."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy walks back to his seat, and leans on the table over it. Sipping his coke a moment. "Just a little communication. You're the boss, but have a little faith in us to have reasons for things."

Cyclops has posed:
Scott runs a hand through his hair. "Put it that way, and it sounds like I was being an ass," Scott says wryly. "I don't doubt you Hank, never have. I just... Didn't think. I should have known better. It won't happen again."

"I saw the brain scans but they didn't mean a lot to me. What was happening to those girls?"

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy snickers. "Well now you're making me feel bad. You acted on instinct, which is what you're paid to do. I was holding them until I could finish the mass spectrum analysis of the drugs, and complete scans of their brains. Like I said, it turns out it was nothing evil supergenius-level, nothing that was specifically aimed at this institute or the X-Men. But I didn't know that when I heard they were gone."

He sits again. "They're kids and made poor decisions. One was to take drugs. And they got a bad batch that was instantly addicting them."

Cyclops has posed:
"You were doing your job," Scott says. "I'll get someone on finding them and sorting out what's going on.... Though I still can't believe our students were doing hard drugs."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy nods. "Yeah there may be more to it. I Think we may need to fire up Cerebro and track them down for a rapid strike operation. But again, that's your call."

Cyclops has posed:
"I'll take your advice," Scott says with a smile. "It's the right thing to do, they're our family."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy laughs. "Thank you Scott. Now what brings you down here? Should I clear out of your way?"

Cyclops has posed:
"No, I was going to look over the morning feeds for anything we need to be aware of. If it won't bother you, I can do it on the mission terminal."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy shrugs "Help yourself. My audit is... moot." With a laugh, he gets back up, grabbing his coke AND his tablet.
