Fridge Notes
Date of Scene: 15 July 2019
Location: Turtle Lair
Synopsis: After Pippi left a note about someone she spoke with, Leonardo and Alopex discuss it with her before Donatello crashes the party.
Cast of Characters: Pippi, Leonardo, Alopex, Donatello

Pippi has posed:
Around sundown, *so mysteriously*, a note had appeared on on the fridge in the kitchen area suspended between the slurpee dispenser and the chore board that a certain dog somehow managed to forget existed every week until she was reminded what her chore was.

Reading: 'Alopex and Leonardo. I'm worried about you all and Agent Cody. I heard what happened. I think I might be able to help with science and in general. Call me. ###-###-####', the note was unsigned, slightly crinkled and smelled of onions.

Quite mysterious. Who possibly could have snuck out on their own to talk to someone and deliver a note.

Leonardo has posed:
At present, the note is not actually on the fridge but rather one of the tabletops nearby. Standing before it is one blue-masked turtle known as Leonardo. The expression on his face is, to say the least, not exactly pleased, but it's kept more or less neutral as he drums his fingers just to one side of said note.

What is he doing there? Simply waiting.

Elsewhere, Michelangelo and Raphael are gaming, Donatello is probably deep in his work, Splinter is meditating, and the two other residents? That remains to be seen.

Alopex has posed:
More than one individual had seen the note. Said individual currently had a glass of water, sat across from Leonardo, looking more neutral than upset at the note between them. Alopex had only -just- sat down with the brother in blue having been there just a little bit longer. Eyes graze the note, then the fridge, she settles back, sips, and considers what may come next.

Pippi has posed:
Oh, Pippi knew there would be trouble the moment she showed her face. That's why she had shame-walked her way to her little space, wrapped herself firmly in her futon and proceded to wrestle with guilt, because she knew the moment she saw either of them, the jig was up. The cat was outta the bag.

    Goose? KFC'd.

So giving a whine, Pippi had switched back to her "I HEART NY" T-shirt, and heads to the kitchen, her eyes downcast, ears pinned back and tail slack behind her.

    "... ah... hi."

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo jabs the note with a finger, spinning it around 180 degrees so it faces Alopex, and he slides it over her way for her to do with as she will. He already has the information he needs.

No drink for him, however, just a serious expression and, maybe, one of some disappointment as well. When he becomes aware of Pippi approaching, he looks to Alopex. "You first, or shall I?"

Alopex has posed:
For a moment, Pex regards Leonardo, the note, stabs a finger upon the paper, then slooowly slides it over toward herself before picking it up. "There are two sides to this coin," the fox begins, holding up the note. "On one side, contact with a rather useful ally has been made, and maybe this will result in something. It's worth while to keep in touch with our allies, and I'm glad we now have the ability to do so. -However-," she flips the paper, blank side facing her before she looks at Pippi.

"This went entirely against what you were told. I'm aware of how you changed your methods to try and find her, and I applaud the tactical change, but that doesn't change the fact that if you had just came to any one of us in this lair, I'm sure we would have been happy to go with you." The paper is set back down on the table and slid back to Leonardo. She turns in her seat to fully regard the pup. "I'm not mad, and I'm not going to yell, but I'm somewhat disappointed. We were to go in pairs for our safety. Nemean is one thing, but there are plenty of threats we may not even be aware of while Shredder's plan is still in effect. However, I'm willing to hear you out, first, before I decide anything."

"What do you have to say for yourself?"

Pippi has posed:
Pippi doesn't look at either of them. She examines the floor as she tries to figure out just what to say, to parse words that she doesn't know yet. Her chest hurt. Her shoulders drew up, and her tail tip curled between her knees as the dog draws her gaze to the side -- and althoug her ears are back, the left one doesn't flick at all.

The canine's hands ball into loose fists, and she brings them up, pressing against her temples. "Ghost Spider's a scientist. She... she does things with bio-stuff and jen-eh-tickle work. She works with... with stuff like what they did to Cody. She hadn't heard about him yet. I had to tell her, 'cause they were supposed to meet up and look at the ooze-stuff. An' I thought... if... there was a way to put him back the way he was, she might know."

Her nose is twitching. Her head is still down. "I had to talk to her, alone, 'cause before we had to buddy up Red Robin had tracked me to Winter's. I didn't want her to track me here because they're afraid that I'll do bad things," the pace of her speech picks up "and I'm trying so hard, so hard not to get anyone hurt. 'Cause if it's just me, then it's fine. But I see the way you two act when Cody's brought up and it looks heavy and I don't think I could handle the heavy but I can't just stay here and if you're gonna dock my rations I totally understand because I was a bad dog but she even showed me her face and I think we can trust her!"

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo rubs the side of his face after Alopex has taken point on the discussion and Pippi's answered.

"Pippi, nobody's going to keep meals from you. We don't do that kind of thing," he explains gently, if not entirely patiently. He understands where she came from, why she might think of that as a punishment. "But we have this rule in place for a reason, and while I didn't exactly follow it myself when it came to Nemean, it's meant to protect us. I could have waited for Mikey to catch up to me at the zoo, but I believed dealing with him one to one gave me the best chance to get through to him. Even if it mostly worked, it was probably a mistake." Donatello sure let him hear about it later on, while the cuts, scratches, and bruises were healing.

Pushing away from the table, he paces. "Allies are going to be important, but we aren't fast to trust strangers and this mess with the mutagen started /because/ we let others get involved with it. We understand it better than anyone else." Even if they haven't been able to figure anything out about possibly reversing anything. It's a question that hasn't exactly been worth pursuing before, because why would they want to go back to being ordinary turtles?

"Nobody's being punished over this, because I'd have to punish myself too and we have more important things to worry about, but we all have to /be careful/. The other night, we heard about a Purple Dragon thing over in Gotham and broke up some kind of initiation, and we ran into some kid who had his face masked. He mentioned something about the League of Assassins, but I don't think they're with the Foot. Anyway, what else do you two know about this person with the number? She was at the docks, wasn't she?"

Alopex has posed:
The fox's expression doesn't change very much, but she is listening, watching, taking in every word. "Mmhmm, that's why I'm not upset. You're right, she does deserve to know, and I suppose that is a bit on me that I didn't try to reach out to her, but there's something else that I'm going to point out now as well." Breath, she turns to Leonardo as she continues, maybe smiling just a little seeing as Leo pointed out that he went off on his own too at one point. "We've all made the mistake of going somewhere alone. Remember, I ran out of here without a word and was gone for a few days after Nemean changed. We all have to deal with what happens in our own way. I did one thing, Leonardo here did another, and so did you."

The fox turns back over toward Pippi. "You've done -very well- with your training and not harming folk that don't deserve it. You need to give yourself more credit, truth be told. You -will- get better at it with training but training only goes so far. Once we're out there, and above ground you have to trust us. At the same time, we have to be able to trust you, too. If we can't all trust each other, then we won't be much of a team when we really need to be."

It's at this point she hears Leonardo out, seems surprised, but then seems to agree with what is said. "Mmhmm. While you did break a rule, your heart was in the right place. If Leonardo here says no punishment, then there's no punishment. Just remember we're a team, that's all I ask, okay?" she waves the pup over. "No one is kicking you out, no one is taking your food away. ... Training may be a little rough next time, but to be fair, it's about time to give you another push, so don't think of it as punishment, think of it as pushing to get better. As for our ally..." back to Leo again. "I think she goes by Ghost Spider. She's a scientist and sounds like she has access to some pretty high grade gear considering she seems to think she may figure out a way to reverse things. That may not be good for us, but .. well, Cody may end up interested." League of Assassins? Initiation break up? She knows nothing of those things. "She's a good person, Ghost that is, Leonardo. And if she showed Pippi her face, I'm pretty sure she trusts us. That's not something the masked heroes do very often, from the way I understand it."

Pippi has posed:
Pippi seems genuinly surprised. She looks back and forth between Leonardo and Alopex, looking a mixture of confused and releived that she's not going to be starved. No one liked her when she was hungry.

So, since Pex is sitting, and Leo is up, Pippi sort of rubs the back of her head again, her ears pricking forwards again as she looks to Leo, and then takes a deep breath, wanting to add to the conversation:

"She has pink hair! Well -- the TIPS are pink, the rest of it is the yellowy-sort-of-hair! She even let me touch it!"

... "I want pink hair too."

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo's attention shifts between the two 'nines, his hands settling at his sides. "We could all do extra chores as well," he suggests, not leaving himself out of the equation. Are they /sure/ he's a teenager? "Alopex has a point, though. Doing something with good intentions in mind helps, but it isn't an excuse to put yourself in danger. I trust my abilities, and I'm sure Alopex believes in hers, but you're still learning, Pippi. That's why it's more dangerous for you, even if you're stronger than most. That doesn't mean you're invulnerable." He pauses and casts a glance toward Alopex before adding, just in case, "I mean, you can still get hurt."

He continues. "Trust is a difficult thing. For years, all we knew was training with each other under Master Splinter. We met April, then Casey, others here and there, now you, even Cody and the others at the docks. But we don't really know them yet. That doesn't mean we can't, or they can't help, but we still have to be sure that if we meet someone, we have a plan."

The Slurpee machine is considered, given a long look, then he leaves it for later. "If this 'Ghost Spider' let you see her face, sure, that means something. And..you don't really have hair, whether you want it to be pink or not. Let's stay focused on the important stuff for now. That can come later."

Alopex has posed:
Huh? Pex isn't sure why she's given the glance. Unless Leo is checking to see if Pippi IS invulnerable. As far as Pex knows? The pup isn't which is the sort of answer she gives? She isn't sure she's reading Leo right. Still getting used to the brothers! All of them.

When Pippi seems to perk back up in relief, the pink hair comment catches the fox off guard. "Ah, maybe. Lets see how taking care of Cody and your training goes, first. If that all goes -really- well, maybe we can figure out how to give you some pink fur. Somehow. No promises."

Donatello has posed:
The 'door' to Donnie's work area opens and it's likely because of Splinter's irritation that such soundproofing has been worked in. EDM techno suddenly blasting, shaking -everything-, and causing a few loose items to rattle and jump around in the few seconds before it suddenly cuts out and the Purp Turp is carrying a tub with... something, jutting out of it, humming to himself.

He has no idea what's going on, not at all. He's been busy doing important things... that actually involves pulling their current TV down and setting it aside before he draws a drill, sets a bit, starts it up and starts putting holes in the wall. There's a pause, a blink, and then he looks at the others.

"Oh! Hi guys! I did a thing!"

Pippi has posed:
Pippi got most of it. She was glancing back and forth, but at a couple of the words her ears flick backwards. Big words. Not exactly Donatello words, or Sciencey-Person words, but she gets it, with his add-on. "Oh, no, I know I can still get hurt. I mean, I lift trucks and carry heavy things around and when I got asked to move the couch when Michelangelo needed to sweep under it, but it still hurt when Nemean threw me into the wall. I even got a cut the other night 'cause I slid like the baseball guys do on the playground when I was on the monkeyswingingbarthingie and I got caught but my fur? It grows curly 'cause I'm half poooooffble-type dog. They had to sheer me pretty close before they shipped me out. I woke up in the middle of it and they nicked my eeaaaayeah"

She purses her lips, and looks embarrassed as Donatello busts out from his work space, and her ears draw up at the bang and then draw back at the loudest of wubs, crossing into the field of vision, and her head tiiilts slightly to the side. suitable distraction found, amber eyes set on the purple turtle as she finds her throught, and finishes: "not really improtant just now sorr-- we're... I was... ah... I found another sciencey type person and got her number?"

Leonardo has posed:
Most of what Leonardo may have had on his mind seems to be covered for now as far as the Ghost Spider goes, for there's a noisy and definite interruption when Donnie's door swings open. This leads to the blue-masked leader turning that way and going, "What? I can't hear you! Can /you/ even hear you?"

Alopex has posed:
Well -that's- loud. When Donnie bursts out of his work space and a cacophony of WUBS come spilling out, she nearly falls out of her chair. The sudden quiet to VERY NOT was a shock to the system. "WHAT?!" seems she's in Leonardo's shoes. She can't hear anything!

Donatello has posed:
"Stop yelling! The music is off!" Donnie grunts as he continues to drill, not looking to the others. "But you're going to love this, I just have to get the mounts in place and fire her up!" he turns back to the others, blinking as they stare at him. "Hey, what's up... Mikey put one of those magazine clippings on me?" he tries to look at his own back, turning in a slow circle.

The endeavor is soon forgotten though, when he looks back to the tub and begins drawing out panels that are hung in specific order on the wall mount. "Wait till you see how this interacts with the sound system I put into the walls and ceiling last night!"

Pippi has posed:
"N-no?" Pippi replies to Donatello, her ears still ringing as she rubs them, looking al ittle sore.
"I met with the Ghost Spider. She's a good science-type-person..."

she pauses, looking over at Leo and ALopex, and then at Donatello...

"are we still going to be able to watch the Mets on this?"

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo clears his throat and makes the near-universal sign to 'stop' - a hand motion up near the throat. "Now is not the time, Donnie. We're trying to have a discussion over here about more important things than music and TV and all that." Raph and Mikey are still busy with their stand-up arcade game, though they take a moment to look back at the others. They're content to leave Leo to the serious stuff.

"So would you like to forget about that for now and join us, or should we go somewhere else?" Who said he can't be passive-aggressive once in a while?

Alopex has posed:
After another moment Pex gives a rub to hear own ears. Yikes that was loud. TV? Mets? Sound System? What? The ringing starts to fade as Leo pipes up at least. "Eh? Oh. Right." Wow, that was a shot across the bow, for sure, from Blue. Oh right. She had a glass of water to enjoy. Siiiiiiiiiiiiip. Crunch. Ice. Delicious.

Donatello has posed:
Standing, blinking, and the eye-roll at the passive aggression nearly tears the top of his head. "Fine... we can get this later..." shaking his head as he approaches, "What's a ghost spider, Pip?" Donatello looking to the the Power Pup before he looks to Leo and Pex.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi is lifted from her concern about baseball (which being a fast-paced game of fetch played with sticks is probably her second favorite thing, the favorite thing being that DID YOU KNOW THEY HAVE HOTDOGS AND THEY WILL THROW THEM AT YOU?), and rubs the back of her head a moment as she sheepishly looks to Leonardo, and she returns to the table to sit, hopping onto a chair and perching there.

"Ghost Spider helped us at the docks, retreiving the muta... the mutan... the mute-a-jen. She was worried about Cody 'cause they didn't check in. She's a science girl. I mean she's into jen-eh-tics and..." she winces, "bi-oh-logic-cali-jen-earring."

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo has his methods, sometimes subtle, sometimes blunt. They can work out any hurt feelings later on, although he does offer, "Sorry Donnie, this is potentially big stuff. After what we saw in Gotham City, I'm worried about missing an opportunity if we aren't focused enough. One of the people at the docks is interested in trying to help see if there's a way to reverse what was done to Cody, and I'm talking about the mutagen itself."

Alopex has posed:
Fox still nomming ice, sipping water, and mostly just listening in on the conversation at this point. "Ghost spider, I think is what she goes by. And going by what she's talked about, I think she has access to some pretty high tech stuff, Don. Pretty sure we won't be needing our change to be reversed, but it could be something to look into for Cody. Once we get him back, of course."

Donatello has posed:
Donnie was across the room, really. He was. Now he's uncomfortably close to Alopex. Deadpool close.

"So there's tech there, and this is a call-sign? Do we have a way to call them? Do we know where they operation? How high tech did you say, I mean if they could undo the mutagen they musthavefirstclassequipmentthattheymightevenhaveonhand but really if you think about it, have you spoken with her yourself?" he's bouncing on his feet, and his hands are hovering -so- close to being on her cheeks
    "I mean... 'cause..."

Pippi has posed:
    Pippi raises her hand.

"She's my friend. She gave me a number for a phone to call her. I even got to touch her hair -- it's pink at the tips -- an' she offered to study the mute-a-jen before." Pippi states, but she's watching Alopex with a little trepedation.

"An' that's her Super Hero name. Ghost Spider."

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo is not getting in the way of the excitable Donatello. Let Alopex and Pippi figure out how to handle that situation. Instead, the gears in that head of his are spinning rapidly as scenarios and situations cycle through. One in particular leads to him frowning.

"Okay, let's slow down a minute here. For starters, there's no guarantee she's going to be able to help. If she /can/ and we're able to cure Cody, great. But whatever the case, we have to be very careful about this. If she or anyone else is able to come up with a reverse mutagen, think about what could happen if that fell into the wrong hands."

Donatello has posed:
"Well we can't find out till we track her down and ask Leo! There's a thing called over planning, dude! We get a basis, we talk to this person, and we go from there." he's over by Pippi.
"Pip, you're adorable... can I have that number? Because you're so adorable?" hands folded beneath his chin, making big blinky eyes.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi just blinks at Donatello, adn as he folds his hands beneath his chin, making blinky eyes at her she feels an odd sense of... something. She doesn't quite have a word for it.

She just quietly points to the note on the table, sprung from the fridge, with a set of numbers on it.

"... I'm adorable?" she asks, looking to Leo and Alopex with a disturbed sort of expression.

Alopex has posed:
Aaaaand relax. Don is off to the next person, and Alopex seems to take a moment to be relieved. Though as the purple brother begs for Ghost's digits, the fox idly reaches out, pokes a finger at the note, and slides it toward Donatello. "Please do not call her constantly."

Leonardo has posed:
"And whatever anyone does, do not, under any circumstances, let slip that we live together down in the tunnels," Leonardo reminds, clearing his throat. "Someone has to be thinking ahead, just in case," he adds, and as he decides on a Cola Slurpee after all he thumps Donatello on the shoulder in passing. "Stop acting like a dork, dork."

Donatello has posed:
"Leo.. leo. It's going to be fine... also ouch. Also, no." he throws a joking smack for Leo's shell before Donatello is inputing the phone number, "It's just... I'm not going to -constantly- call her. What kind of calculator does she use? Glasses?" he stands up strait. "Important question... The booty?" He's been on WoW too much, or one of those games, lately.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi's ears go back, and she purses her lips a moment as she scratches the back of her neck. She takes a deep breath, and lets it out real slow-like as Leo passes to get a slurpee, and she strongly considers grabbign one of her own.

"Ah, dunno? She's smart, maybe she doesn't need one? An' she wasn't wearing any, but she wears a mask most of the time? And... booty?"

Pippi looks utterly lost on that one. "Donnie, what's a booty?"

Alopex has posed:
Seems that Blue brings up a good point, "AH, right, that's a good thought that I keep forgetting about. Thankfully it hasn't been important just yet. Still popping batteries in my phones ever since I met the Punisher on a flippin' fire escape." She told them that right? ... Maybe? Well they're finding out now if they didn't know. "It wouldn't hurt to do that on a regular basis if we are given any other burner phones. Just a thought." Ice Crunch. What? It's flippin hot! Even below ground! Summer sucks! However, for one reason or another, Don is getting a -death glare-. Answer that question, she DARES YOU.

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo takes the retaliation off the shell, then he just sort of stops in place while filling the cup for the Slurpee, looking back over a shoulder. "Really, Donnie?" They /are/ still technically adolescents, buuuuuut...

...and then he's nearly dropping the cup as Cola Slurpee begins to overflow. "Damn it!" He quickly licks up whatever's still clinging to the edge and his hand, setting the cup aside to clean the small mess.

Once that's done, he levels a wave at the motley crew. "I'm thinking it's time I got to meditating for a little while." Pause. "After I finish this."

Donatello has posed:
Blinking at Leo's comment, the spilled slurpee, and Pex's threat. Donnie gives her a deadpan look. "Da booty." nodding sagely. He leaves it at that for now, brow ridge up. "I'm a dork, I'm not dead." teeth in the grin following the raspy voiced retort.

Pippi has posed:
Pippi looks more confused than ever, her ears drawing back, and she throws her hands up. "I'm not a little kid! I'm like, eighty in dog years!" she protests, then she puts her head to the table with a soft 'thunk'. "Which makes me super old." she grumps.

"Pex, can you get me a cup of ice? My brain's overheating."

Alopex has posed:
One second death glare: SUCCESS. Calm fox goes back to sipping her water for a moment. However, when Leo mentions meditation, Alopex starts to stand, "Mm, well, seeing as I'm not really planning a patrol tonight.." she slowly turns toward Pippi. It's just as the pup asks for a cup of ice. "Sure, however..." she trails as she grabs the requested snack? Beverage? Sneverage? "Training and dinner probably should happen, say, nowish? I know I said I'd push a bit, so once we're done I'll go out and grab whatever you want," she says as she offers the cup over.

Pippi has posed:
Cup is accepted. Ice acquired. CRUNCH.

"More control training? OH! Do I finally get to pick a weapon?"

Leonardo has posed:
Leonardo returns to giving Donnie his own version of the death stare, merely shaking his head. He's staying out of this one aside from one thing: "Pippi, if Donnie keeps teasing you, you have my permission to put him through a wall somewhere. Gently."

Making his way toward his quarters, they can hear a good, long *SLURRRRRRPP* from the straw, followed by a grimace and a weak, "Oh, brain freeze..."

Before he disappears, he calls back over, "Alopex, if you're going out later and need a second, come find me. We should also do some sparring sometime." Then, he's gone.

Alopex has posed:
"Maybe.. Maybe not! Depends on you do during the first half."

        To Leo: "Noted!"

Donatello has posed:
"The rumpus, the donk in the b'donke'donk. The Tush, girl you ain' gonna get none less you got buns hun!" Donnie says aloud, smiling to himself, tucking the note away as he starts towards his work room again, Donatello with a happy little jaunt in his step.

Pippi has posed:
"... oh her butt." Pippi states before she crunches another piece of ice.

She gets a confused sort of look to her again.

"Alopex, I probably shouldn't tell Ghost Spider Donnie was singing about her butt, right?"

Alopex has posed:
Pex is actually walking toward the training area when she's asked that and nearly chokes on some ice. Coughs, "No, no you should not."
