Cast of Characters: Mercy Thompson, Hulk

Mercy Thompson has posed:
There are fewer things in life that are worse than running out of the essentials. Milk, eggs and bread in Mercy's case. Into her trusty Vanagon she's climbed and driven her way across West Harlem to her favored 24 hour stoore. It's not the flashiest, and it's run by an ex-con who did time for armed robbery....but the upshot of that....and the five or six of his gang buddies guarding it, is nobody's dumb enough to rob the place. Plus, the prices are reasonable, and....they got an honest to God soda fountain! That was the clincher for Mercy. An actual, honest soda fountain. And they're open all the time, too.

Pulling her Vanagon Synchro into the lot Mercy locks it and pockdets the keys after climbing out. Tonight she's headed out in PJs and tennishs shoes. Nobody ever said the daughter of Coyote had great fashion sense, and she heads in looking around going for a shopping cart. It's ex-big box store and squeaks and is warped just enough to be annoying, but Mercy's been here often enough to not care. "Hey Carter" she says to the tattooed six and a half feet tall ex-con with prison tats working the register. "How you been?" she adds. Carter looks over. "Yo my girl, been good" he says as Mercy is piling things into her shopping cart. "You got any ceral in this week? I ran out on Saturday and been living on toaster waffles" Mercy says and laughs when she's told yes. But it's cheap dollar store cereal. That works for the coyote walker. In her cart it goes....

Mercy's quite happy here thanks, just shopping at the small hours of the evening, or....before midnight really. She's figuring out how evrything's going to fit in her Vanagon. That thing's only got so much space.

Hulk has posed:
Then there are those who are just passing by and looking to restock their mobile home, which has just pulled into the parking lot... with a trailer attached to the back of it taking up a bit more space than the usual clientele. Out of the side comes a non-descript man wearing a black shirt and jeans, with a baseball cap angled just so to obscure his face as he walks inside.

For his part, Bruce just grabs a hand basket and heads right for the back, grabbing bread, sugar, and some ramen. Then he grabs some chocolate bars and a large case of foil wrap.

He's hiding his face pretty well, and he's trying to get in and out before he's recognized.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's just put pop tarts in her cart and looks up when the door goes. "Oh hey" she says by way of being polite and nice. Though she's more focused on shopping. Carter waves languidly. "Hey man, Welcome, let me know if you need anything" he says as Mercy glances outside. She does a double take at the wheeled house. Looking over it she smiles. "Somebody's either preparing for a life on the road...or compensating for something. Or they got a desire to not pay property taxes" Mercy offders to a snort from a gangbanger stocking the aisle. "You said it not me chica" is the response as Mercy shakes her head. "Hey, if I could do it I'd pack my garage into a Winnebago and drive around, Freedom" Mercy shrugs.

The new face got her interest. She's not one to obsess over the superhero faces and teams, but she's keeping up with the news. Still, Mercy offered a hey to him. That's a conversation starter. She's debating what else to add in her cart watching everyone though while adding in milk and, because she spied it hiding behind things, Belgian chocolate.

Hulk has posed:
Mercy is summarily ignored by the man, though he offers a polite 'nod' to her, even under the baseball cap. Soon, he has everything he's looking for in the basket, and after a double check, heads for the counter.

"Checkout, please." His hand goes for a candy bar on the side, putting it in, "and this." Bruce notes, his wallet coming out to pay cash, even as he tries to keep the cap over his face.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy watches and figures something to the effect of 'alright then', She's shopping in PJs anyhow. Should really be home watching awful movies to cope with the world. Instead,....she's here, amazingly.

"Checkout, sure man. Hey don't I know you?" the clerk asks. "I swear I know you from somewhere, c'mon" he says as Mercy looks over, lining up to pay for her things. Sure, her meager amount of money will pay for this. Well, if Carter and his friends are nice to her that is. Hopefully, they are.

Hulk has posed:
"I get that a lot. I'm nobody special." Says one Bruce Banner, host of The Other Guy. "Call me David." Bruce offers as he gets a 50 out of his wallet. "Will this be enough?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy watches as the cashier shrugs. "Yeah sure, Fifty's enough Davidd. Nice RV in the lot man" he says as Mercy shakes her head. She's not the sole one to notice the mobile home...and trailer. It's nice, but it's too big for Mercy's living situation. still though. Mercy's a smart 'yote. She'll stick to her van...that looks tiny in comparison.

Shaking her head again Mercy steps out of line to grab popcorn and cookies. Bad Movie Night is....looking up with popcorn and cookies. Bad movies are a dime a dozen too.

Hulk has posed:
"I got it on a sale. It's an older model, but refitted for my needs." Bruce says as he puts the 50 down. "I'm just passing through. Got any newspapers?" Bruce inquires.

The mobile home has an obvious Satellite linkup dish, but he's looking for other sources of news, it seems.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Sure" the clerk nods. "Over by the soda fountain" he says as Mercy's wandering the aisles again, hemming and hawing over what she really needs, vs what she'd do without. Waffles are a must. Those are essential.....as Mercy steps to the counter. "How much?" she asks, "$25" Carter says as Mercy nods, handing over two bills and watching her things be bagged upp. Once done, she slides the bags into the cart and pushes it out the way so David can pay. Admittedly , she just swiped his spot...but....

She was gestured to the counter, after all. Mercy does though offer an apologetic smile.

Hulk has posed:
Mild irritation crosses Bruce's features for just a moment as Mercy cuts in front of him... but he quickly calms himself. It isn't like anyone is threatening him, so all anyone else sees is a deep breath.

Once Mercy is done, Bruce gives a mild nod, leaving the basket for a moment as he heads for the soda fountain... and starts to browse.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy keeps out of the way once paid, though, she cut in line, and regrets it. Stilll though the best she can do is just keep out of the way. Which is why she's across the store reading her receipt. Not that Carter would do anything shady with the prices...but given Mercy runs her own business....

Taxes and all that, Mercy likes to keep everything above board, realy.

Hulk has posed:
About ten seconds later, Bruce is already in the services section... before he looks to Mercy. Back. Mercy. Back.

"Excuse me, Are you Miss Thompson?" Bruce inquires, side glancing to Mercy now.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy glances up. "Yes, why?" she asks and looks.....a little out of place, PJs, tennis shoes. Sure, it's her but she's not wearing her coveralls. Rather, bunny printed PJs. Which she'd gladly shoot anyone for ever daring to point out....despite the fact they do have cute little fuzzy cartoon rabbits all over the PJs. Mercy though is a little puzzled, who would ask after her here, at this hour?

Mercy however seems intrigued enough to hear him outt. Looking over she gives Carter a look that says something like I ain't getting home early tonight, am I?

Hulk has posed:
Bruce shows her the picture in the newspaper. "I'm looking to have my RV undergo a bit of maintenance while I'm in the city. Does your garage do that sort of work?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I could" Mercy says. "But.....that's your RV. Well....it won't fit into my shop I'm afraid, the bay doors are not tall enough. Do you have a warehouse I can work on it?" she asks. "I'd have to charge you of course....but that's standard for us mechanics" she shrugs and looks impressed at the RV again. "Okay, yes that really won't fit in my shop. Unless you wish to donate it to the keep Mercy's building standing fund" she observes with a glint of humor. "Then again, you do that, I can just use it as a shop and you'd be down an RV. So" she says "Warehouse or somewhere that thing can safely fit into?"

Mercy's looking out for her shop and herself. No desire to get stuck in her house due to an RV taking up, well.....everything else room and volume and area wise. "What do you need doing on it, oil change, tires, brakes or something more serious?" she asks, snapping into mechanic mode. She's just missing the wrench. So she grabs a croissant instead and wields it like a wrench.
"Ain't fixing shit with that one girlie" Carter calls from the register as Mercy waves it in his direction. "You be good or I'll throw this at ya" she teases as Carter looks to the croissant. "Ah you ain't got the arm"

Mercy does. Carter ducks as the croissant sails over his head and disintegrates against the far wall. "Okay okay. You win chick. But...." the tattooed ex-con says. "Where the hell you gonna store that RV?"

"Good point" Mercy says. "You guys know anyone that won't ask questions, like...how do we get this out, and will it be a pain to take the wall and roof off to get that RV out?" Mercy ponders.

Hulk has posed:
"Well, I was planning on finding a garage anyway, and yours looks close by, by the advertisement. As for the warehouse... I'll see what I can do." Bruce explains, then he places the newspaper under his armpit, "I'll see you at the garage in the morning, then." With that, he turns back to the checkout counter, and puts the newspaper down. "And this."

Bruce adds an extra five dollars for good measure.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods. "Just....measure the bay doors first, then the RV. I don't want to wake up to you demolishing half my building, ya know?" Mercy asks sounding serius. "It's bad enough when people decide to street race. Don't even tip" she grouses and looks thoughtful. "Just saying, a warehouse is more likely to work for that RV, and it's easier to hide it if you need to. I don't know what you're packing in there, for all I know you got stuff people want back. I'm joking" she adds raising her hands. "Seriously though. Warehouse is easier to work with"

Hulk has posed:
As Mercy goes on her warehouse rambling, Bruce just looks at her for a moment, before he smiles at her, his supplies being bagged.

"I'm sure it'll be fine." Bruce reassures her, before he's taking both bags and heads back out to his RV.
