Black on the Outside
Date of Scene: 17 July 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Lorna shares her attack with Alex.
Cast of Characters: Havok, Polaris

Havok has posed:
Wearing his black super suit sans the mask, Alex Summers lays upon his back atop a skylift that has elevated him to the underbelly of the Blackbird. He holds tools in his hands amidst an open panel and is struggling to ratchet something open within the jet's internal workings. His right knee is bent, left straight. He's working on significant leverage to try and break free the bolt.

Polaris has posed:
Whatever was occupying one Lorna Dane had her frowning darkly at the tablet in question. Her green hair pulled back from a top knot of a bun, had half way fallen out and stray strands of green framed her face. The magnokinetic was clearly preoccupied as she wandered through the hangar bay, most likely pacing as she scrolled through something on her tablet. She wore a pair of sweats and was half in her uniform, clearly having come from or intending to go to the Danger Room for a scheduled training session at some point.

As Lorna approached the blackbird, however, she spotted Alex and through her senses could feel the metal of the bolt he was struggling with. The threads around the nut having, clearly, (to her at least) been misthreaded. She smirked, and reached out a hand, and slowly encouraged the stubborn bolt to behave and do as Alex was so very clearly trying to get it to do.

"You're welcome." She chimed.

Havok has posed:
When it breaks free, he initially thought it was his doing. He even starts to say something about it - often a string of foul words like, 'take that, fucker' but he was interrupted by the voice he knows all too well. His neck twists, looks over and down off the skylift to Lorna. He smiles, "Hey Lo.. that was you? Thanks. This thing was about to get cut off with a torch." He returns his attention to removal of the bolt with the ratchet before he will slide to the side to give her his full attention.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grinned up at Havok from her spot on the ground, her head tilted back to try to catch sight of him, even though it was an awkward angle. At least until Havok slid down to the side so she could see him easier. "Yeah it was me. I saw it was giving you an attitude." She wiggled her fingers and glanced back at her tablet with a huff and a grumble, before clicking it off.

"Need a hand up there? I could use something to distract me."

Havok has posed:
He's rising up from his position next to the railing as she asks about offering help, "Oh damn, could you? I need to take out this Gizmo-Slot-O-Matic, break it down, and have it replaced within the hour." - Obviously Forge put him to work. He adds, "And I'm just now only getting the first bolt out... thanks to you."

It's one of the flow regulators that help the actuators do the actuation and make things flow on the super jet of superness. A component that is about the size of a basketball, connected via 4 hoses, 5 mounting bolts, 4 wires, and three stabilizers. And he needs to get it out of there, clean it out (overhaul) and get it back in within the hour.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grinned and she tucked the tablet away into the oversized pocket of her sweat-pants. "Yeah, sure." She floated up to the edge of the railing, lightly touching down by her toes first before settling more firmly beside Alex on the edge of the walkway. She came up to the Blackbird, running her hand over the side as she peered down to where Havok had been at work. She tsk'ed under her breath, muttering about whoever had put in the bolts last. With a wave of her other hand, and a soft glow of green, the each bolt came spinning out of the side of the plane to gently plunk down on the floor in a neat pile.

Green eyes danced with amusement as she directed them, and she glanced back toward Alex after she'd worked them all loose. "There you go."

Havok has posed:
He smiles, still amazed with the detail of her power and the fine manipulation she has. His powers are the overwhelming blast of blastness without the ability to be so delicate. He kneels down underneath, will take hold of the device and start to unplug the electronic connections and heft the device out of the hole.

He continues to talk"Thanks so much. That'll really help with getting this done. Those things were jack-hammered in. Or something. What are you up to?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna stepped back, watching him as she folded her arms and leaned against the railing of the walk-way. She shrugged as she glanced over the Blackbird proper and seemed to slowly get lost in thought for a time, before her focus returned to Alex as he asked her what she was up to. "I was just reading up through old case files. Trying to see if there are any known mutants at large that might.. I dunno, have the ability to teleport without any portals or like.. smoke or something. I dunno, it was a stretch. Or anything that might have like Neo-Nazi ties and might have a grudge against my father."

Havok has posed:
"Does it have to be a mutant? Because I know there are quite a few people out there who can teleport that may or may not be mutants." He queries as he sits the device on the floor of the skylift and then moves to the controls. He intends to push a few buttons and then start the skylift scissoring descent downward to the floor while he holds on.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged, and her lips pursed together, looking mildly worried. "I assumed it was, Wanda didn't pick up anything magic wise and well.." She exhaled and shook her head, dragging her hands through her hair and exhaling a breath. Her gaze swung back to Alex and she took the tablet back out. On it, she clicked it on and tapped through a few screens. She turned the tablet around, and showed Alex what was on the screen.

"It was in my bedroom.." She murmured, "In Genosha." On the screen was a massive, bright red swastika. The whole image was dripping in rivlets down the wall and to the floor.

"The lights were flickering, and we went out into the hall, Pietro, Wanda and me... A maid had screamed, she'd seen someone. When we went back inside.. it was there."

Havok has posed:
The imagery visually upsets him. His throat tightens, his words are strained, annoyed. He says, "What the fuck? Lorna; are you alright? I mean, this isn't cool at all and we really need to figure who the fuck did this. And take the fucker out." He unlocks the skylift gate, steps down and will continue to look at the tablet imagery for clues.

Polaris has posed:
A shrug and Lorna passed the tablet on to Alex. She pursed her lips her gaze pinched at the edges. "I'm okay, security was there within a minute. Pietro and Wanda were both with me. They couldn't find anyone, or anything. Security has been over the palace, top to bottom. No one has seen anything. Nothing came up on security. There was a power surge on my floor in the palace, and it didn't even register with the sensors until they looked at it later." She crossed her arms, and glanced down at her toes.

"Wanda portaled me here with Pietro and they stayed the night to make sure I was okay. But we don't have anything so far."

Havok has posed:
Taking the tablet, Alex will give it a once over again but then notice the body language of Lorna. He sees the crossing of her arms and the peering down. His own eyes soften and he says, "I'm so sorry, Lorna." and he'll reach to touch her shoulder. He won't try to hug her. Or at least not initiate it. That's her choice. He just wants to offer a warm touch. Warmer than 98 degrees. "You'll be safe here and we'll figure out who did this." - he feels somewhat helpless about the situation. Not only did he not know, but he's been out of touch and he hates it when she feels bad. It triggers something inside of him and highlights his inadequacies because he couldn't protect her. Even though he was half a world away.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna pressed a hand against Alex's as he reached out to touch her shoulder. The nonchalance she'd worn in the past day since the incident, slipped away and she sighed, her shoulders slumping as she simply stood there. Exhaustion clearly etched on her features. "I know.. I just.. it's hard. Who would do that? Would //could// do that? To paint something like that all, in my private quarters on Genosha? I felt safe there. And then this happened.. and I just.." She shook her head, biting back whatever else rose to her lips in comment.

"I never thought I'd live to see something like that there." She finally got out.

Havok has posed:
There's a moment of silence as Alex stands there, a slight sigh and a nod of acceptance or agreement of her assement of being safe in that place. There's really nothing more he can say that won't become a redundant mess of words so he only offers, "Whatever you need from me, Lorna; it's yours.". The tone of the statement is clear and open ended, concise and very determined as he will do anything for this girl.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed Alex a sad sort of smile, it was filled with a mixture of emotions that hung heavily in her gaze and in the brief squeeze she gave his hand on her shoulder before she let it go. She exhaled a breath, and gestured to the Blackbird and took back her tablet, to securely tuck it away. "I know. And thank you, but I'm holding you back from getting anything useful done." She tucked her hair back behind her ear and took a step back, exhaling a dress.

"C'mon, let's get this done before your hour's up."

Havok has posed:
Renewed direction flows through Alex's mind after her departure from his reach. Focused on the task at hand, and pleased that she offered a segue from the sad, and troublesome subject, Alex turned and grabbed the device from the skylift. Walking it to the work station, he would begin the process of breaking it down to rebuild it...
