Cast of Characters: Andre Jackson, Mercy Thompson

Andre Jackson has posed:
It's early evening the Rec Center within the Hugo Building has closed, it's about 8pm. Not late but still early enough right? Having made his way to the parking garage which it's summer and it's still pretty good lighting. Dre sighs as he looks to his car and frowns, "I shouldn't have that damn guy work on my car." He grunts, which he has a Mitsubishi Eclipse one of the older models that were good for tuning. Which his car is pretty nice, still it's not starting and there is a slight electrical burning smell when he tries to start it.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercedes Athena Thompson, mechanic, walker, coyote, has just settled onto her couch, one she got at a thrift store, and....had a fun time getting it through her living area door (for a while it sat in the garage, it smells of oil and car fluids). She's finished her late dinner and is flipping through channels on the TV as she is glad to be done for the day.

Opels, Mercedes, and VWs are her bread and butter, and she's fixing up an old Ghia to sell on. Today she's been repairing the transmission. From scratch. Still though she's feeling like there's not that much left, and she's got through most of it.

Mercygets up to grab a snack and has this feeling she's somehow overlooked something on her latest pet project.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Checking his phone for the time, he was waiting on this new mechanic, they agreed on a time to meet up and now she isn't there yet. He quickly shoots Mercy a text letting her know he's waiting and hoping she didn't forget they were supposed to meet. It's pretty nice outside still and people are still going on about their business.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy hadn't forgotten, thouh she does grab her shoes, jeans, a t-shirt and coverall. She's got her rust-colored Rabbit keys in hand and it starts first time as she pulls into traffic. Mercy's heading for the meeting, hair untied, plain t-shirt and jeans and sneakers on....as Mercy looks a little worried, meetings with new customers are one thing. Gotham though. That worries her with her reputation as a trouble magnet, too. Mercy shakes her head as she's driving, more at the standard of driving. If she'd been smart she'd bought another car...but no, her rust colored, 82 Diesel Rabbit is ancient, but it still works. She loves that little car.

While she stops to get gas in the Rabbit's tank, she shoots off a text once back in the car before firing up the engine again. On way, stopped for diesel.

She's also bringing her attitude too, her stubborn nature. Still, she plows on via Gotham's roadways. Destination: Hugo Building.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Getting the text he says ok and tells her to be safe. As much as he didn't like Gotham, he's here for the kids. He knows how this place can turn people, though there are still good people here. He leans against his car, he's not much of a trouble maker, but gangs hate him for disrupting things, still he's not had any much issues with them.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy pulls the little Rabbit into the lot and climbs out, locking it. She looks over as her nose takes in the scents and she pulls a toolbox out of the back of her car. Looking over Mercy's still, somehow, in her element. She's got a wrench. There's a car. She can so do this....

Stepping over, Mercy nods a greeting as she spies the car and the man leaning against it. "Hey, you said you had car trouble?" Mercy asks. Straight to the point, down to business. Such is Mercy....as she looks at the Eclipse, not sure what to make of that car. Her own Rabbit looks dull by comparison, or maybe thats the rust paint job.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Seeing the Rabbit pull in, he smiles he remembers his grandpa had a Rabbit, when she comes over he bows his head. "Hello Mercy, yes. I do have some car troubles." He says as eh walks to teh front of the car, the hood is already up. "It's not turning over and there is like a light electrical discharge smell." He frowns. "I had my car tuned by some guy who swore he knew what he was doing and well, now I can't even drive my car." He says to her. Looking at his phone, he frowns, "You want something to drink or something to eat, I will get it for you and hang with you while you work if you don't mind." He says to her.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Well" Mercy says looking worried, "What's going on with it exactly. You can't drive it is sort of vague" she nods looking over the car again. Hearing the question about food she shakes her head. "No thanks. I had dinner earlier" she says and pops the hood on the Eclipse. Good place to start as she returns to her Rabbit and pulling out coveralls sliding into them and putting work shoes on.

She reaches back tying her hair, "So what's going on?" Mercy asks looking back to the Eclipse's engine bay again.

Andre Jackson has posed:
He nods his head and opens the trunk, there is a cooler there with bottle water. He takes one out, "Water?" He asks. "As for what's wrong, when I try to start up the car, you can hear it want to turn over, but it doesn't. Also there is like a electrical discharge smell." He says to her. He walks to the front of the car and opens the door, "Here." He says and he asks her to move slightly so he can start the car, and you can hear it trying to turn over but it doesn't and there is a electrical discharge smell.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods and wrinkles her nose at the smell. "And it's been doing that for how long?" she asks resuming her spot digging through the engine bay. "So" Mercy says looking worried at the car, then the engine bay. "Okay, let's see" Mercy muses, shaking her head. "Okay, your car has an electrical fault and I wouldn't drive it, or try to turn it on any more" Mercy points out looking over again.

Pulling her hands out of the engine bay of the Eclipse, Mercy slams the hood, "Okay I need to check under the dashboard"

No drama, just Mercy calmly, businesslike going about figuring out what's going on with the car. She's cool, calm, and collected. Though she does look over the car worriedly. "What did you do to this?" she asks with a worried tone to her voice.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Thinking for a moment, "It started yesterday but I didn't drive it anywhere when it happened." He says to her. He watches her as she speak and moves around his car. Letting her do what she needs to do, "I really do take good care of my car, I know enough but I rather let my car be taken care of people who do a better job." He leaves the keys in his pocket. "I didn't do anything, when I noticed it was having problems I didn't drive it at all." He says to her.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy turns her brown eyes away from the car, "Good idea" she nods sagely. "Alright, I can't do much without tearing bits off your carr. If it's a wiring problem, I'll need to get at the wires. If it's the engine, I'll need to tear it down and find out what's causing it" Mercy says and pulls her phone out in her hand, "You got a way to get around this city?" Mercy asks looking around atthe lot and park.

"Nice place though" she adds, debating calling for it to be towed to her shop. That'll get expensive real fast. Still.....Mercy studies the car for a moment. "I can have the car towed to my shop in West Harlem and get it stripped down to the frame, how's that sound?" she asks. "I'll loan you one of my cars till it's done. I got a few in various states of being rebuilt, got one for sale, a Jetta for $1150" she nods.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Dre nods his head, "Thats fine, I don't need a car, I don't plan on going anywhere no time soon and most of the places I go are nearby." He says. "So I'm good, if I really need to go somewhere I can take the bus or Uber." He says to her simply. "Please do what you need to do, and I will pay what I will need to." Dre watches Mercy as he takes in the car. "Will you need any help getting the car towed or is this your own tow truck?" He asks.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Well" Mercy says. "I'll need a tow truck. Nobody seems to want to tow from Gotham to NYC" she admits, though really she can't blame them, much. One dangerous city to another dangerous citypart of the city, through more dangerous areas. Still, Mercy gives the Eclipse a once over then to her Rabbit. She shakes her head with a smile. "No way my Rabbit's towing that thing, no. Even my Vanagon couldn't. It'd tear the engine out and crack the frame" she sighs looking thoughtful. "Okay call a tow firm, I'll tell them where to bring the car.
That is, assuming it gets there. Mercy's worried however. She's not okay with towing this thing through Gotham, and out the other side. Instead.....Mercy shakes her head. "I'll do what I can" she says and looks serious. "But if it's more than not starting or an electrical fault, I'll let you know" she says, peering inside the Eclipse. "It's a nice car. Just....aftermarket parts" she points out, tapping the roof with a wrench for effect, "The color's nice however. So. My shop's all the way in NYC. Are you okay with taking the skytrain then the subway and walking to my shop?" she asks.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Dre nods his head, "I know of a guy." He smiles. He quickly calls the tow company and he provides the address and he hangs up. He looks to Mercy, "I helped him with a gang problem he had and he helps me when he can, he will be here shortly, he's just down the street, I will pay him for the tow to your place and we will go from there." He says to Mercy. "I know how things are when it comes to Gotham, but hey it's home and I deal." He smiles.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Glancing at Dree again Mercy looks glad. "Thanks" she says with a smile, listening to him. "Okay so your car's gonna get towed. I'll get to work on the car" she adds with a knowing look in her brown eyes, though she nods to the tow truck driver and gestures to the ccaar then Dre.

"Alright so" Mercy says, "How long will it take to get to my shop?" she asks, wondering how much time she's got before sleep. Or....something, givn she's up insanely early most mornings. Still, Mercy listens and nods to Dre. "Listen, do you want to keep this car, or do you want it sold for parts and you get the money from it?" Mercy asks, "Since you said you take a bus or Uber everywhere, it was a thought" she adds.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Joe tells Mercy how long which will be hour and a half, "Do what you can, but if it's a lost cause, sell for parts and we split the money." He tells her. He looks to Joe, "Thanks Joe I appreciate this." He says to him. Looking back to Mercy seeing her smile, "She smiles." He chuckles and he bows his head to her, "Thank you and take your time it's cool, I rather the job be done right. You came highly recommended." He tells her.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy nods. "Got it, alright let's get started" she nods to Joe. "Though don't try to put the truck in my garage. I'd rather not have a tow truck wedged in there" she says quickly then sighs. "It happened before. Fortunately the tow firm paid for the repairs to the building, but still...." she nods settling into the cab. "Fix or sell for parts. Actually....I'll drive my Rabbit back if it's okay with you" she adds climbing back out of the cab and going to her rabbit, unlocking it and climbing in, locking the car behind her too.
