Elixir has posed:
The trip to the American Museum of Natural History was carefully set up. A charity that offers mutant children educational experiences chartered the school bus. The students, all from Xaviers, were brought to the pick up site in different groups. There was no way to tell this group of students were all from Xavier's which was as it should be.

The trip was mandatory for quite a few students and staff were along of course. Josh volunteered for a chance to get out of the lab and do something normal. He sat up front in the bus texting and reading on his phone as they trundled through New York Traffic. The students were as kids were anywhere on field trip. Mostly loud, carrying on their dramas and glad not to be stuck in a classroom on a nice day.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy considers it a treat to go with the kids to do this. He's not driving, but he's also in the front, leading the excursion. "Good to have a little break, Josh? Jub's right. We have to avoid going too hard, as much as we want to give it everything. It doesn't help anyone." Though right after that, he makes a round walking down and back up the bus asile, policing the kids.

Mason Steele has posed:
Sunglasses. Mirror lenses. Ball cap. Less trendy clothes. There. Perfect disguise. His blonde hair splays out beneath the Dodgers ball cap. He leans over the back of seat behind Hank. Is there lipstick on his face? Not unlikely. "So. Doc." He glances out the window and back to the teacher. "You're SURE nobody knows," he glances at the bus driver. "I mean..." he lowers his voice. "What about her?" His paranoia of discovery is at an all time high. the lipstick is probably an indicator of why he agreed to go on the trip in the first place.

Polaris has posed:
It was all in the name of getting Lorna to not fixate on the issues Genosha's royal family was facing. (Notibly the country only needed one magnokinetic to obess over details at once) So the green haired Princess was put on Chaperone duty at the last minute to keep her from sulking about the Mansion. A field trip was safe, or at least, supposed to be, and she needed a day away from it all.

Mason's comment had the green haired young woman grinning, as she leaned over the chair to face him. "If anyone figures out anything it'll be my fault. And then they'll be screaming about my father, and either it'll end badly or amazingly. Just chill." She shrugged, and sat back. The young woman was dressed in a pair of slacks, and a loose fitting silk blouse and an oversized pair of sunglasses.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee is sitting next to Henry in a soft pink sundress and sandals, her hair put up in a neat twist held in place by a pair of yellow chopsticks, crossed and speared through her hair. She's turned and looking out the window, fidgeting next to Henry. Then leans against his shoulder.

Elixir has posed:
"Dude, seriously, stop freaking out. If nobody figured it out when you were all up in Andrea, they're not figuring it out now," Josh chuckles. Josh gestures meaningfully to the side of his neck. "Thank god that mess is over...."

The bus rounds the corner approaching the museum. Traffic is relatively light for once which is a gift.

"What the!" the bus driver gets out and slams on the breaks. Everyone is pitched forward suddenly. The bus screeches toward a heavily built man with buzz cut hair standing in the middle of the road. The man drops his shoulder, braces himself and the bus, almost done braking, drops from 5 mph to 0 against his shoulder. The front fender of the bus bends around the man like tin foil with a screech of metal.

Before the shock wears off, a tall blond woman and a broad shouldered hispanic man charge off the sidewalk into the right side of the bus. The bus leans, then tilts, then falls on its side. Students scream and yell. Cars screech and honk outside, crashing into each other to avoid the bus. The rear emergency door of the bus is torn off and thrown casually a good 20 feet by a a beefy Asian guy.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy comes up behind Mason. "Relax, all you're doing is bringing more attention to yourself than you would. Nobody's going to recognize you unretouched unless you make a scene of it." Yeah, he went there about the truth of publicity photos. And then it happens, he skids forward, right up with the driver and sees everything. Once the bus is getting tipped, he climbs out, and starts swinging at ^one of the people responsible for tipping over the bus. So much for that jacket.

Mason Steele has posed:
"Yeah but-" Whatever Mason was going to retort with is never finished as he jolts forward, chest first into the seat in front of him. "What the heck?" he starts to clamber as the bus tilts, and then as it falls over, he finds himself hanging from the seat next to the window. "What hit us?" he asks, joining in the panic of the other students. He looks down, other people below him, and reachs a foot out to brace it against the luggage rack of the ceiling so he won't fall and land on anyone.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna pulled out her Genosha made phone, shrugging to herself as she tapped away on the glass thin screen and seemingly losing herself to whatever business occupied her for the moment. So when the bus suddenly ground to a halt, she was jammed forward against the seat. She stood, to look out at whatever was the cause of the bus's sudden halt.

"What the hell...?" Was all she got out before the whole bus went flying to the side.

Lorna was thrown hard against the other seat, and bounced against the ceiling as the side slammed against the pavement. Her head cracked sharply and the world went black as she was knocked out cold.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee finds herself squashed by a backpack full of books, sitting on what should be the wall of the bus, but is now the floor. "Ow,' she breathes with a groan.

She climbs up the floor and pushes herself out a lowered window on the bus, looking down at the ones who tipped it, and Beast, who came out punching. But for the moment, she watches, hoping they don't notice her sitting there. She doesn't want any undue attention until she has a game plan.

Elixir has posed:
The bus is lying on its left side. There are students yelling and crying. The ones on the ground side of the bus are trying to pick themselves up off the windows, many of which broke. One that were on the right side of the bus, now the top, are trying to lower themselves down without falling on friends. Some are helping each other up, others are frozen in place or just bewildered.

Josh was jolted against the seat in front of him, then slid out across the aisle and landed in a heap with two other students in the row behind the driver. There is a golden glow from in there, some swearing, then Josh and the two students with him untangle themselves slowly.

"Lucy, help me find the hurt ones. What the hell is going on?" Josh demands. "Oh shit, everyone back!" he shouts with wide-eyes staring at the back of the bus.

The short haired man at the front of the bus smashes the windshield with a punch, drags the driver out and tosses him out of the bus like a ragdoll. People on the sidewalk scream.

At the back of the bus there is more screaming. The beefy Asian guy makes a grab for one of the students, a kid that looks suspiciously like a frog. He leaps backwards into the crowd of students in various states of picking themselves up behind him. The others yell and crowd backwards away from the man.

Above on the right side of the bus, there is a thump as the man who helped push over the bus jumps up and lands there. He smashes one of the windows and looks down into the bus.

Hank explodes up through the bus doors and lands on the street. The underside of the bus is exposed beside him. The woman who helped push over the bus starts to turn but is caught in Beast's first swing. She is too heavy and too hard for a human. She is lifted off her feet and slams into a storefront, breaking bricks. She peels herself out with a sneer of pure hatred and lands on the sidewalk. Her eyes flare red and she advances on Hank purposefully.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy tilts his head Jonathan Frakes style and bellows "Rrrred alert. Josh, Jub, Lorna, Protect the kids." He obviously didn't know Lorna was already knocked out. The jacket is torn off, and the tie, as he begins charging right at the dense woman over there, shoulder first. A feral look in his eyes.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason flinches away as the window above him breaks. He clambers down one seat to try to get away, and then slips, falling and joining the rest of the students on the new floor of the bus. Fortunately, he landed on his feet with the help of steadying himself agains the ceiling. "There's somebody coming in through the top! He announces, and then looks toward the screaming in the back. "And through the back! What's with these psychos?"

Jubilee has posed:
Seeing the back door open and the kids backing away from it, Jubilee makes a purposeful drop back into the bus, and she begins swinging from the now top seats two at a time, over the heads of the students like they were monkey bars, and she drops directly in front of the door, lowering her hands to aim them out the door, toward the Asian man, letting loose a near primal scream as an anger-driven plume of blue plasma the size of a piano billows out that back door, and directly into his face.

Elixir has posed:
The woman facing off with Hank feints and lashes out with a jab, followed by a roundhouse kick. She moves fast, too fast for a human but nothing near speedster quick.

The man in the front of the bus starts climbing in.

"Ah, shit. Everyone out the back! Move it!" Josh shouts. He starts pushing people toward the back in a hurry.

Jubilee's blast does not so much send the Asian man flying as it burns off his entire top half from the belly down. Sparks shoot out of metal and wires inside the torso before it topples over. Students need little more encouragement and start pushing for the rear exit.

The man above drops down into the bus, badly injuring a student he lands on. He is not far from Jubilee and she hears the screams. He knocks kids aside charging at the short X-Man.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy fortunately is a bit faster than the typical human himself. His bare feet enduring the heat of the asphalt, not even noticing it with all the rage in him, he's doing his best to match her move for move, taking swings every chance he can with his simian limbs, hurling his entire body at her relentlessly.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason is one of those students in the way. Fun fact. Mason has a significantly higher mass than he appears to. While he's not a skilled fighter, he knows this much about himself.
He sees the many students that are about to be trampled, and throws himself back against the man coming through the pathway, seeking to send him inbetween the seats rather than continuing toward Jubilee. What next? Um... he didn't think that far.

Jubilee has posed:
"Sonofa..." Jubilee trails off, hearing the screams behind her, turns to see the source of discontent. Flashing a look between the two, she mutters under her breath. "These /are/ the droids I was looking for."

She pivots and leaps, climbing near spiderlike along the seats above her head. Once she has made it over the heads of the students, she drops down in front of the man who just boarded the bus and stomped a kiddo. Then got backed into a corner by Mason.

Jubilee doesn't have the weight behind her to move Mason, and she is not about to use plasma on the bus, so she does the next thing that comes to mind. She leaps over Mason's head and grapples onto the probably-a-droid's head like a helmet, holding on with arms and legs. "Help me get him outta here!" she shouts to Mason, as she covers the guy's eyes with her arms, and probably some pink crinoline from her skirt.

Elixir has posed:
"Die..." is all the probably very impressive sounding war cry the woman gets out when she strikes at Beast. He slips inside her kick and drives a massive blue fist into her face. There is a creaking noise then a snap. The woman's head simply flops backwards. There is no blood. The head hangs down her back by a mess of wires rising up out of her neck. Her body jolts, quivers and falls over, leaking some kind of clear fluid.

The man in the front gets to Josh, grabs him by the shirt and slams the young man into the windows of the bus above. Josh falls back down behind the crew cut cyborg who grabs the next student and chucks her with bone breaking force. Josh glows after hitting the deck and shakes his head.

"What the hell, man?" Josh says. He gets up and grabs the girl that was just thrown, healing her as he drags her back a bit.

The cyborg advancing through the bus was clearly planning on trampling Mason. Instead he stops as if hitting a wall and is rocked back on his heels. When Jubilee jumps on him, the man flails toward his face. He seems to have no exact idea of what is on his face or wear, as if he cannot feel Jubilee pressing on him.

Kids are starting to limp, crawl, run and drag each other out of the back of the bus. Sirens have started up in the background and a horrified crowd of onlookers has gathered around the bus. Some brave souls have run toward the back of the bus and are helping the kids get clear to the safety of the sidewalk.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy isn't quite hulking out now,but he's definitely beasting out. Once he sees the wires, he jumps on top of the 'woman', tears her head clean off with two hands, and holds it into the air. "A robot," he shouts. "A robot sent to harm children. This is what they're doing now." He then rears his hand back, and throws the head up into the air, and on top of the nearest building, in pure rage. That giving him the time he needs to clear his head enoug, and run to help the kids get away himself.

Mason Steele has posed:
"Wow, that worked a lot better than I thought," Mason says with a smile, breaking the focus to set his sunglasses right again. "Hey Josh, did you see-" he turns around to find himself face to face with the man running toward the back of the bus, and finds himself simply putting out his hands to stop the incoming cyborg, but unlike last time, he didn't have a chance to plant his feet, and is caught rather flat-footed. Maybe he should spend more time focused rather than being pleased with himself.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee, seeing Josh and his new friend, curses under her breath. "Nevermind, there's not time!" she shouts. She plants her hands firmly at the temples of the Droid she's riding like a mechanical bull, issuing forth tiny plasmoids from her palms in an attempt to melt through his "flesh" and detonate them inside the head, in miniscule explosions.

Elixir has posed:
People back away with horrified looks and screams when Hank tears the head off the cyborg. Some break and run. It takes a moment for the realization to set in that he had torn the head off some kind of robot instead of a person. The crowd goes quiet momentarily and then there are shouts of outrage matching Hank's own. More people come forward to help.

"Tell me later Mason!" Josh shouts. He runs toward the cyborg that threw him and plants a push kick squarely in his ass. The cyborg stumbles a half-step forward, too heavy for Josh to knock over. The cyborg misses a grab for another student. He turns toward Josh, snarling. Josh backs off quickly, making for the front of the bus. He is physically out-matched and well aware of it.

The cyborg in front of massive convulses then goes slack and falls to the ground. There are smouldering holes its temples. Blood, clear fluid and the smell of burnt meat and plastic come out of the holes. Students that had been trapped between the cyborgs scramble past Jubilee and Mason for the rear exit.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy shouts to the people persuaded about what he said. "Bring help, please. Some of these kids are hurt. Any first aid kits?" He'll lift any kids he has to to get them distance, while the fighting goes on.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason nods, "Yeah, uh," he backs up from the cyborg toward Jubilee. "Uh, Ms. Lee?" he says, not confident in a second engagement. He took the last one to the side by the nature of the force it was charging him with, but there's no rock in here for him to manipulate, meaning he has fairly limited power.

Polaris has posed:
With a groan, Lorna rolled over, blinking repeatedly to clear her eyesight of the fog that a concussion would cause. The magnokinetic already had issues regarding the entire Earth's magnet spectrum running through her brain at any given moment. A concussion was not good for her control. As Lorna awoke, the cars down the street had their alarms go off. Cell phone coverage went in and out, as she rose up on the magnetic fields she found her magnetic senses to be stronger than her eyes. Her figure lifted up into the center of the bus, a snarl on her lips as she flung out her arms in the direction of the cyborg approaching Josh.

A twisted sound of rage escaped Polaris as the metal of the bus twisted into needle like, sharp protrusions spiked out at the cyborg attacker. Meant to stab him over and over repeatedly, metal twisting and slithering through his body and viciously ripping it apart.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee has little strength to offer, besides adrenaline-fueled rage. She doesn't dare fire anything ranged in the bus, so she bolts for the cyborg, meaning to shove her hands against his chest and do what she did to the last. But the second before impact, a sharp metal protrusion rises from the floor and between her feet, snaking up toward where her hands are planted. The metal tentacle grazes her calf, and then her wrist as Jubilee jumps back with a yelp. "JESUS, Lorna!" She pants, and checks the minor wounds as she backpedals.

Elixir has posed:
There are blood-curdling screams of terror inside the bus from the handful of student who are left and see the fate of the last cyborg standing. Josh backs off numbly, trips over the windshield frame and falls onto the concrete outside. He scrambles backwards wide-eyed. When the carnage stops, the cyborg is hung in mid-air in the bus, pinned three ways by metal protrusions. It twitches. Clear liquid and a small amount of blood drip from its wounds onto the ground.

Josh turns around onto his hands and knees and retches a few times. When he gets control of himself he pushes to his feet.

"Hank.... Hank? Hank!" he shouts and gestures toward the bus. He walks unsteadibly at first, but regains his footing as he gets underway. "There's some down in there."

Josh looks around to get his bearings. A couple of police officers are pushing their way through the crowd toward the bus. An ambulance is coming up the sidewalk in one direction. People are helping injured and a couple of unconscious students sit or lay down on the sidewalk in front of the museum. People are standing around watching. Taking cell phone videos. Josh cannot really hear them.

He focuses on the injured students. Starting with the worst off, he moves from one to the next glowing gold and healing as he goes.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy very gently sets down the last student he was getting away, and starts marching to the bus. His jaw clenched, that feral rage still in his eyes, he starts running, pulling pieces of the bus off their hinges and joints if he has to, yanking seats out, to get at any injured students and enable easier access.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason backs away as the fluid runs out of the cyborg, and his eyes behind the shades go wide. "Wow, that's... damn." He stumbles away toward the back of the bus, and climbs off it. There's people everywhere. He trusts in the power of his shades and ball cap, and takes a rather more nonchalant stance than likely most present, "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," he tells the officers that swarm the bus.

Polaris has posed:
It soon became clear why Lorna was having trouble seeing. She had a head wound, and those typically bleed far more than they need to, a shallow scrape was to blame and continued to interfere with her eyesight, no matter how much she rubbed and blinked at her eyes to try to clear them. The magnokinetic grimaced but used her own magnetic fields to get around the whole 'unable to see clearly' part.

Lorna's figure slowly eased back to the ground, or at least on the side of the bus. As it became clear to her that no one else was attacking the group on the bus. Still, there was an overwhelming humm of electronics. Of metals. Of living things with their nerve endings and synapses. Normally it was easy enough for her to filter through the chaos, but now, it only contributed to the pounding pain at the back of her skull.

A hiss of a breath escaped between her teeth, and she slowly lowered her raised hands, the metal spikes slowly wove back into place in the bus's sides, allowing the mutilated remains of the cyborg to fall to the ground with a sickening crunch.

But the more Lorna stood still, not really moving, the more her powers started to slowly worm through her grip. Her control, usual so refined, was as damaged as her head. And all the way down the block, the power would surge, and flicker. Cell phones, car lights, street lights, cameras, and microphones.. All the little daily electronics in the area would likewise face the magnetic sputtering she was struggling to contain.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee, likewise, stumbles off the bus. She has a cut on her left shin and one on her right wrist, both of which are bleeding moderately, but they are clearly not major injuries. She carries bloody sandals in her hand, wandering about, and looking to rooftops, alleyways, anywhere someone could be hiding to watch their attack go awry.

Touching Josh's shoulder lightly, she utters a soft question. "Hey...you doin' okay?" In the background, Henry is giving the bus a damn good thrashing.

Elixir has posed:
Pieces of the bus go flying as Hank works furiously to get to injured students. He moves fast and the builders of the yellow school bus anticipated kids and car crashes, not half-frenzied mutants. Whole benches are ripped off their moorings easily. Remarkably though, with the care born of years of medical practice, Hank is able to care students out to the triage area without causing further injury.

When Mason comes out of the bus, three of the high school senior girls rush over to him. One is crying and clings to him and the other two start fawning over how brave he was fighting those men. A couple of other girls glare daggers at these three. A couple of the guys glare their own at Mason.

A pair of young Caucasian kids in shorts and t-shirts scramble away from where they were taking photos of the headless cyborg body when Hank comes out of the bus the last time.

Car alarms, lights and phones ring, flash, honk and even move a little randomly, sparking consternation from the people gathered around. More police are flooding into the area now, moving people back further.

The first news van rolls up a 100 feet away and its crew deploys to film the aftermath. Paramedics have rushed to start working on the kids. They very quickly grasped what Josh is doing and ask no questions beyond whether he can fix a tension pneumothorax, grade two compression, compound fracture or other things they find. They work as a group doing rapid triage and calling Josh over to the worst in order. Scrapes and bruises and the like are dealt with by the paramedics or ignored for now.

Josh reaches down to touch the broken and twisted leg of Ben, a high school junior. Ben is pale but joking around trying to assure his friends and himself that he is okay. His hand glows golden and Ben looks suddenly blissful. His leg visibly straightens out to normal and the spreading bruise on it disappears. "Thanks Josh!" Ben grins, flexing his leg experimentally.

One of the paramedics, a young woman with brown hair pulled up tightly in a pony tail shakes her head. "That's incredible," she says.

Josh looks up at Jubilee. He is getting pale and sweating and smiles queasily. "I'm good, I'm good, that was just...." he looks back at the school bus and shudders. "I'm fine."

All the cellphones in the immediate area ring in unison and then stop.

"The hell is happening?" Josh asks Jubilee. Then he is pulled by a second paramedic to look at a pregnant woman complaining of stomach pains. She was in a car that crashed avoiding the school bus when it flipped.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy knows Josh is going to do a better job healing than he can in this situation, so he does some quick triage, pointing Josh to those who needs the most help. And then sets about protecting the kids in another way: PR. Adjusting his collar, he rubs his face and tries to calm down, attempting some brief meditation, before approaching the gawkers. Addressing them, and the approaching camera crews as they start to arrive. "I'm Dr. Henry McCoy. I'm a teacher that came with this school bus full of students on an educational field trip. We were attacked, and the bus pushed onto its side without warning, by a team of robots. Please keep your distance, to protect the privacy of the students as they are now undergoing emergency medical treatment. I'm here to answer any questions you have about the trip, and the attack." Large arms are going to block any gawkers who try to get closer than absolutely necessary.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee checks with Hank next, petting his arm gently as he lowers a scaled boy around ten years old to the ground for triage.

When all the phones start ringing, people begin making noise. And with that many people making noise, Jubilee looks around hastily. "Oh shit, where's Lorna. Somethin' isn't right..." She jumps up and climbs back into the bus to look for her. "Josh, zi might need you, I dunno what I'm gonna find in here."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had slowly lowered herself down to the ground, pressing her hands against the sides of her head. She exhaled a shaky breath, trying to block out the noise.. that wasn't a noise at all. It was the static background of all the magnetic objects and eletromagnetic items around them. It bore down into her skull and with the concussion, the green haired Princess couldn't process what was happening around her. She couldn't filter the objects around her and everything that should've been easy to block out was impossible to ignore.

The blood around her head wound was slowing to a sluggish crawl and sticking to her green hair in thick chunks. Her breathing was erratic, and while she tried to do maintain her grip on her powers, it was slowly becoming harder and harder.

Normal people got a concussion and couldn't read, or look at screens. Mutants got concussions and things tended to get out of control.

Elixir has posed:
A reporter pushes their way in front of Hank and starts peppering the well known mutant with questions. She is quickly joined by a half dozen others and a pair of news cameras. With the cordon established, the police start asking students who is in charge and looking for the adults from the bus among the throng.

"What? Okay," Josh says and gets up. He runs after Jubilee.

"Wait, we've got..." shouts one of the paramedics.

"I know, just wait," Josh calls back. When he rounds the underside of the bus, Josh ducks inside after Jubilee. He almost walks right past Lorna when he passes one of the benches Hank dropped. But the glimpse of green in the corner of his eye gets his attention.

"Shit, Lorna," Josh says and calls over to Jubilee. "She's over here."

"Hey... Lorna, it's Josh," the young X-Man says and kneels down beside her. He looks her over and puts his hand on her forehead. "I'm gonna help, okay? You're gonna be fine."

"Wow, you really hit your head," Josh says once he gets a feel for the injuries. He takes a breath. His glows with a golden light, and spreads a liquid warmth through Lorna's head that drives out her pain and confusion. Her eyes focus, everything comes back into focus and then finally her gashes close. When he is finished and drops his hand, there is blood left on Lorna's face but injuries.

"Man, it was supposed to be a museum trip. Like boring shit," he says to Jubilee as he pushes himself to his feet. He exhales and smirks. "Does anything ever go smooth at the school?"

Jubilee has posed:
"Oh heck yeah," Jubilee replies with a grin, relieved to see Lorna healed. "When it's time for something to blow up the mansion, it blows up pretty as you please."
