don't wake the sleeping seamonsters, please.
Date of Scene: 25 July 2019
Location: Atlantic Ocean
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Poseidon, Power Girl

Poseidon has posed:
The atlantic ocean, today, is as calm as it can be. The sky is blue, not a single cloud in sight, and the large cargo vessel that is moving with the waves would also be the image to place on a painting in the studio of a doctor. If it wasn't for the fact that, currently, in front of the vessel, there's an enormous, very green and very mad creature.
With a body not unlike that of a giant snake, the creature emerges from the water in front of the vessel, slightly to its starboard side to be precise, and the exposed part of the monster reaches a height of at least 15 feet. Its green scales are still covered with water, and its mouth is opened, yellowish eyes peering at the smallish humans moving on the deck of the vessel below. So far, the monster has not attacked the ship but, everytime the engines of the vessel start up, the creature hisses quite loudly, darts in closer, and menaces quite obviously to snatch one of the sailors and turn it into its next meal. And considering the size of the sea serpent, it is not at all difficult to see it just slamming on the vessel and sinking it, should it want it to happen.
The crew is quite paniked, the vessel obviously can't move, and the majority of the sailors don't even know what to do. Those few, on board, that even know where the emergency weapons are, have absolutely no intention of using them for fear of making the creature even more threatening than it already is.

Power Girl has posed:
Blue and beautiful, the ocean was certainly one of the best things to admire about the planet from above for Kara Zor-L and the woman doubted she would ever tire of it. Even so, as the blonde woman zoomed overhead, enjoying the warmth of the very sun that powered her and the movement of the waves below...the peace wasn't to last.

Those screams, those cries, all of them reach her ears and they're exception enough to have her coming to a hovering stop and peering into the horizon. The curve of the Earth only allowed her to see so much, but it was enough for her to zero in on the disturbance and takes a breath before erupting through the air with the loud blast of a broken sound barrier towards the creature halting the vessel.

Poseidon has posed:
The creature keeps staring down the vessel, as if it was another creature trying to get into its territory. The humans are scared, but it's not like the sea monster gives a care about that. The thing that, however, manages to turn its attention away from the ship is the sonic boom that precedes the arrival of Power girl. And power girl, now, becomes the stared object, with the serpent turning its head in her direction, peering at her as if to wonder where did she come out of, why she's flying, and, how tiny it is compared to its enormous size!
And that's when the people on the boat decide that the creature is distracted enough to start their engines and try to get away, with the creature's disagreement evident in an enormous tail that comes out of the water on the vessel's portside, slapping the water and causing a quite large wave to splash on the deck, soaking pretty much all the people unfortunate enough to be standing there.
And from the south, something moving underwater is approaching at very high speeds, as the appearance of a linear ripple under the water's surface is announcing to everyone looking that way.

Power Girl has posed:
Well, she had the creature's attention, but she couldn't keep it given the sudden slap and the splash of water. If the creature wasn't happy with the ship, it wasn't happy with it retreating either. Frowning, the kryptonian woman floats towards the creature, deliberately hovering before its gaze. "HEY!" she calls loudly, her voice intended to try and gain the attention of this apparent Kraken. "Look over here ugly, leave the nice sailors alone!"

That rippling rush? That does indeed earn a turn of the flying blonde's head.

What now?

Poseidon has posed:
That ripple in the water approaches, quickly, and apparently the creature turns to look at it as well. Its attention is quite split, between the hovering girl, and the approaching, object? Person? Whatever it is.
Soon enough, the mistery is solved when something shoots out of the water, flying up to float not too far away from Powergirl herself. And that something has the shape of a tall man, with white hair, a quite ageless face, wearing a blue scale armour with a golden cloak hanging from his shoulder. And his eyes alternate from the kraken, to Powergirl.
"what're they doing?" the man speaks, both to Powergirl and the kraken it seems, even if probably he expects an answer from the latter "oh, also, hello." he adds, in Powergirl's way

Power Girl has posed:
Well...that wasn't someone she knew, even out in the waters. The JLA's resident 'ocean expert' was a familier face, but this man in gold? He was a new one. Still, his sudden arrival had earned a look of suprise, but his conversing with the creature? That had her raising a brow and then crossing her arms under her bust. She couldn't speak Kraken.

"Oh no...don't let me interupt," she muses aloud before tilting her head to the side. "Don't suppose he's telling you why he's getting all grabby with this ship?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon glances at the kraken, then at Powergirl, and then at the kraken again. And considering his nodding at the Kraken yes, he must be definitely be talking to it! "uh, ah... Ok, yes, yes I see, I see but no, keeping them here is not going to work, eventually they'll just, I don't know, call someone and have you smashed down. Just, return to do whatever it is that you were doing, I'll deal with it." And then, he turns to Powergirl and his lips turn upwards in a smile "actually it did... Looks like that ship down there is unloading an insane amount of wastes into the water, or at least, what for a sea creature is an insane amount of it. And the creature, there" and he points at where the serpent is slowly starting to sink again into the ocean "didn't really want for it to get near its kids, to make the water less breathable and poisonous."

Power Girl has posed:
There's probably a few among the crew below that was probably wondering why Power Girl wasn't currently throwing down with the Kraken or blasting it with her eyes, but how would that really work out for them? Giant throwdowns would probably cause more than a little splash. The comment from the stranger has her blinking, but really...it was a kinda valid concern.

Turning her gaze towards the ship below her, she frowns a little and tries to -peer- beyond the obvious senses to detect the leakage. "What if they went -around- them and their children?"

Poseidon has posed:
There is not a constant leachage, to be fair, but looking where the vessel just passed through, it's evident that the crew, aboard, had really no concerns in unloading all their trash. Even ignoring the, organic matter, there are definitely the signs of leftovers from the various dinners, plastic stuff, cans, and a decent amount of things that shouldn't be in the water. And the engines are definitely not new, so that actually some oil comes out from them from time to time. Not enough to be considered a serious thing, for the humans at least, but try explaining that to a giant mom of a sea serpent.
"they could go around it but it's not like geometry was one of the main concerns of her" and he points downward at where the sea serpent is almost gone under the waves "plus, I should've told her to smash them to pieces, to be fair, or do it myself. How many times do I need to tell them humans not to throw their garbage into my oceans? It's not like we go up there and deposit large bags of our leftovers in front of their doorsteps! Or pour oil, and other mechanical products, on their rooftops, and surely I don't poison their air...."

Power Girl has posed:
Alright, agree though she might have, Power girl wasn't going to be allowing the crew to be smashed, smooshed or otherwise harmed. "I'd rather you didn't," the woman points out as she begins to lower in height, eventually coming to level with Poseidon and uncrossing her arm. "They might not have been the most considerate and I'll point out to them that their carelessness could have got them killed...but if you try it?" She pauses, looking him up and down. "You're not going to enjoy me putting a stop to it."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon peers at Powergirl, raises an eyebrow, then twists his lips in what could be an amused smirk "I am going to pretend, for the safety of both of us, that you didn't just treaten me... Seriously, it is not wise to, say such things to the god of the oceans, just, above the oceans..." he shrugs, then extends his right hand, pointing just behind the vessel "plus I'm not usually that fond of smashing humans, unless they deserve it, and today I feel generous. So they're just going to get their stuff back and bring it somewhere else that is not my home" and that said, even if the regular eye maybe couldn't catch it, those with enhanced senses could see some glowing lines appearing on his skin as he starts channeling his magic. Then all the cans, bottles, plastic bags, not to mention things of a more organic nature, just float up from the water and, uncerimoniously, start falling on the upper deck of the cargo vessel. "do you have anything against this, hm?"

Power Girl has posed:
Well, at least he'd revealed who he was! That was enough for her to raise an eyebrow. She -does- open her mouth to make comment, perhaps to give her own words on a lack of intimidation or of challenge...but they're closed again with the movement of the water and the dumping of the trash piece by piece until the pile is left atop the cargo vessel.

Her answer was simply a shake of her head before she turned towards the direction of the frightened crew. "I'll get them going around, then this..." she pauses, indicating with her finger between the two of them, "discussion can continue."
