Cast of Characters: Willow Rosenberg, Martian Manhunter

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
It had only taken her *mumble* long to figure out that what Superman had really meant was 'you're part of the Justice League' and 'Welcome'. Which made some of the texts she'd missed make much more sense, and oh gosh did Willow feel stupid. But thankfully there were enough members on the team that her turn at monitor duty hadn't come around again until now, so she'd not missed another session.

It felt.. incredibly weird to be sitting here, watching the monitors, and the station, and being.. the person in charge. Kind of. The person who called in folks if something went wrong? That felt a lot less weighty on her shoulders, and as long as she told herself that's what her job was, Willow didn't fluster herself into a panic over what if something went wrong and she couldn't handle it?!?

And how did she get here again? Willow was still very, VERY confused about that. Willow Rosenburg, part of the Justic League. Didn't people make movies about things like that?

Now if only she could put this on a scholarship application..

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn has nothing to do today, or at least, no worlds to save, no researches to make, nothing special. So instead of sinking in boredom in his room, J'onn decided to head for the monitor room to have a look at that new member that is supposed to start her duties today.
Important as it is to make at least a decent first impression, he renounced to his tall, alien, greenish appearance in favor of a more human one. Still tall, athletic, with an ebony skin, an impeccable professional haircut, intelligent blue eyes and a tailored grey suit, and it is in this shape that he walks through the watchtower in the direction of the monitor room, that he enters quietly.
At least, being quiet until he announces his presence with a "good day!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Of course Willow starts guiltily at the greeting, because she's still not really sure she belongs here, or that someone isn't going to pop out of hte woodwork and go 'aha!' telling her this was all some collosal joke and send her packing off home without even a parting gift for her efforts.

"Oh, uhm.. I'm supposed to be here!" Like she wouldn't have been ousted from the high security room if she weren't. "Oh, wait, are you supposed to be here?" Because wouldn't that just be a good start to her first duty session, having to oust someone for being an intruder. Could she do that even?

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn twists his lips upwards in a smile, proceeding through the room and walking towards an armchair, which he sinks on "I am supposed to be here, yes, and you are supposed to be here too or you wouldn't be here!" he keeps smiling, turning his blue eyes on Willow "welcome aboard, Willow... I am J'onn" he introduces himself.
He doesn't move at all on the armchair, yet one of the nearby cupboards open, and out of it a package of oreo floats to land on a table next to J'onn himself, the wonders of telekinesis! Then the package rips open, and an oreo floats up to J'onn's mouth. "how are you finding the watchtower, so far?" he asks, casting a glance to the oreos afterwards "oh, feel free to take some if you want, there's nothing worse than doing monitor duty without eating something good..."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow's cheeks pinken. Of course he was supposed to be here, or security wouldn't have let him in. The room was one of the most well guarded ones for obvious reasons, even if once inside there were some creature comforts as well as the banks of computers and screens.

She reaches for the cookies, snagging three, and setting them in front of her where she's also got a cup of tea and a teapot. And her own perosnal laptop. A couple of books. And the ever present sage smudge.

"I'm still getting used to all this. It feels pretty weird thinking of me here with everyone else. You're all so important."

At least she presumes Jonn must be important. He's in the Justice League after all! "Are you on with me?"

Which was almost a roundabout way of asking how he knew her name. Speaking of, was there a list somewhere - a schedule? Hey, she could look up her next shift!

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn smiles again, shaking his head "oh, I'm not that important, at least not in this form... Then again those down on Earth know me better as a tall green alien, but that's another story entirely!" he admits, getting another oreo. He finds himself shaking his head again soon "oh no no I did my duty this morning, now I just dropped to see how you were doing..." he admits.
He points at a nearby screen, saying "computer, please, show us the schedule for next week?" and there it appears, the scheduled shifts in the monitor room "talk with the computer, or use it through control panels! She's nice, and gives out some good informations!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oh wow," Willow murmurs. She'd been doing it all manually. Someone likely expected Willow was up to speed on all things monitor room and had neglected to tell her that little tidbit. Not that it had made much of a difference to this point. Whether you asked for the computer to scan through the rooms, it did regardless, giving a constant and dynamic feed of the place.

"Wait, tall green alien?" Willow head tilts a bit at that. "Really? Like a Martian?" Because those were the only tall green aliens she knew, thanks to Sunday morning retro cartoons. Even if there were likely all sorts of other green aliens floating around the myriad of inhabited planets in space.

"But you're part of the Justice League," she insists, "So you must be important. I'm still not sure how I ended up here." Her cheeks pinken again. "I kind of didn't understand when Superman welcomed me. I thought he meant like a visitor. I feel pretty stupid about that now."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn nods in affirmation, with a chuckle escaping his lips "like a martian! Like, the martian manhunter or so they call me now aday... And I'm not as important as some of the other people on here, tend to stay more in the background!" at least he's pseudohumble, or he tries to! "well, if you're here, it means you've done something to impress... And Superman is not someone that gets impressed so easily to just invite everyone, so congratulations! And, don't worry, there's nothing to feel stupid about, really... The important thing is that you're here now, isn't it?" he gives her another slight smile, or is he smiling at the oreo that is finding its way into his mouth? "in any case, we're all glad to have you aboard, I'm sure you'll do wonders!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow smiles back, if shyly. "I helped a bit to save him." 'A bit' is something of a misnomer - she might not have been the heavy duty fighting until the end, but she had been portals and seeing through the obfuscation of it all. As a group, the Justice League seemed to be rather sparse on mystical sorts -- which is kind of where she came in. She still felt outclassed, though. But that was rather par for the course for Willow.

"I'm here now," she agrees. "It's kind of exciting. I told my best friends, but it's not really something you can tell everyone is it? Don't worry, they're the kind of people who have secrets too, so they're safe." In fact, the Scoobies had enough secrets of their own that others would head tilt at and not believe.

"Did you know I can do that, too?" And to show him that she can, Willow floats an Oreo as well. And, to show off just a tiny weeny bit, she dunks it in her tea before making it drift over to where she can snap it up with her fingers and take a bite. "See?"

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn smiles in approving aknowledgement at the display and at her words "oh telekinesis is pretty useful!" he says, leaning back on his chair "and, well, you have your talents, don't feel, outclassed or less important than anyone. Look at Batman, no superpowers, but still one of the best we have, so the powerlevel doesn't make the hero, it is the hero who makes the hero! You were one, means you can and I'm trusty in your abilities..."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"But Batman is.." Willow sighs. How does one express larger than life without sounding like you're fangirling? Even if maybe there is a little bit of fangirling there. All of them left her feeling like that. They were all the superheroes she'd grown up hearing about, and now here she was. It was just.. weird. Things like this didn't happen to good little Jewish girls from Sunnydale.

Then again, things like the Scoobies didn't happen to good little Jewish girls from Sunnydale either, so there was that.

"I'm still practicing my telekinesis. Heavy things are still hard. But little things I've gotten good at. I always kind of thought that even if it would maybe be helpful to move large rocks or something, that the smaller stuff was probably more useful. Like what if you wanted to steal a key from across a room?" Like how many times did a person need to move a boulder?

"I guess I'm okay with magic. I still have a lot to learn. But I do some things very well." Again her cheeks pinken at the 'hero who makes the hero'. Willow demuring, "I had to help. Superman is like.. he's like the hope of everyone that things will be okay."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn nods again in approvation "well telekinesis is useful both for subtle and larger things. As in, working with small things requires a finer control, working with larger ones it's more power... But then again, stopping an airplane from crashing with your mind can be as useful as rearranging the molecular structure of a wall to make it easier to collapse, hm?" he says "powers are just that, powers, tools. How we use them is more important, if we do it smartly the seemingly most insignificant of abilities can become a great thing..."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow nods to that last. She'd been up front and center with it a couple of times while Superman had been 'ill'. So very tempted by the Enchantress and her brother Incubus. She still felt the tugs.

"I never thought of it that way," she remarks of the molecular structure. "I mean, I can't actually see or feel those things that way. I know the physics, but I guess I never thought of actually applying them so directly." And it was true. She couldn't see the molecular structure. Or feel it. Her magic wasn't like that. It just.. was. "Do you do other magic? Or is that just a thing Martians can do, the telekinesis?"

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn lets out a soft chuckle when his powers are referred as magic, and shakes his head "that is not magic as you would see it, but yes, martians do other things. Shapeshifting, some enhanced physical abilities... Better senses, telepathy... Psychic powers in general." he sighs, closing his eyes for a moment "at least I do, it's not like there are other martians around anymore to use those powers... SO..."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow ohs, her lips forming that small roundness as she exhales. "I didn't mean.. that is I hope that wasn't rude. I just thought it was magic. No wonder you were talking about it differently. But that's okay, I do some weird stuff too as far as other magic users go." She worries at her lower lip before admitting, "I kind of combine magic and technology. Everyone says it shouldn't be possible. Only it not only is, that's kind of how I figured out maybe where to look for Superman. I don't think that's how come I can do it, but it is kind of strange, don't you think?"

She cants her head, and considers, "You don't think maybe that's why I can, do you? Because it was going to be needed to figure out about Apokolips?"

Not that they were rightly the only civilization to combine the two things, but they certainly had it down to an artform, one that was relatively unknown on earth.]

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn smiles reassuringly and shakes his head "no no don't worry it wasn't rude at all! It could even be magic, it just depends on the definition you give to magic after all." he then hmms thoughtfully, lowering his head for a moment in contemplation "honestly speaking, I don't know. Magic is not exactly my field... Technology maybe a bit more than that, but still, there's people more knowledgeable than me on the subject" he admits, retrieving, and eating, another oreo. "but every ability is particular on its own, I suppose. If you do that, means you can, means it's supposed to be. I think I've read about technomancers somewhere too"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Not all my magic is technomancy. I don't even know how it works. It just does. It's.. like I type the things, and then stuff comes up, and I figure it out." Willow ponders. "I guess someone else might think I'm just doing a Google search or something, only it's not really like that. I mean it is, but it isn't."

She always kind of floundered when it came around to explaining it. She wasn't even sure she needed the internet to do it. Or if her tech was just a prop.

She does nod, though. "See, it could be like that. Not everyone can do magic. I don't know if it's believing you can, or if it's inside you. We're not mutants, but maybe there's something different in us too."

Which wasn't the same as being a Martian, or some other alien being. She grabs another Oreo, and dunking it manually, takes a bite.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn glances at the monitors, just to make sure noone is trying to destroy the planet while they talk serenely. "well we are what we are... After all, magic is a part of us, I suppose? I mean if you can do magics, means that you're made in a way that allows for that, for whatever reason." he tilts his head then, curiousity visible on his face "so you mean you basically do a search of a spell and then type it into existence or something like that?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"I guess?" Willow has to agree of they are what they are. After all, her best friend was The Slayer - whole prophetic Fate and all, so who was she to argue the other?

"Not exactly," Willow has to explain about her technomancy. "I mean, I guess maybe? Mostly I use it to find information. Or items. Like right now I'm trying to find these ritual pieces and I use my computer to. It's sort of a mix of an actual spell and the search. Or the search is the spell.. I don't know. I mean, how would you explain telekinesis? It's sort of a thing you do more than a thing you explain?"

Willow didn't know how she did what she did. Neither did anyone else. That was what kind of made it so special.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn hmms again "like, you type in the search, then press enter, and the spell guides you to the needed resoults?" he asks, trying to understand. "telekinesis is, well, for me it's like having another invisible limb? Like a muscle, I feel what's around me, then take or move or rearrange it... An odd thing to explain indeed, most likely. It's like trying to explain you humans what the nine martian senses are like, for some probably you don't even have words!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Exactly!" Willow beams. "Or close enough. I don't always get stuff that makes sense. Sometimes I still have to figure it out or narrow it down." Which pretty much covered any sort of scrying when you got right down to it.

She nods at his explaination of telekinesis. "For me it's more like making it do what I want? Like making my will more important than its will. I never really thought about it like an extra arm. Maybe that would help."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn smiles at the realization of the pseudounderstanding! Right, he could just slide into her mind and just understand it better, but he respects privacy, after all! When he can, at least. "I suppose everyone has their way to see it. And having lived with this ability for centuries, I probably am so used to it that probably wouldn't even know how it is to live without it. As in, if the oreos are in the cupboard, it comes sort of natural to get them with telekinesis, but why should I actually stand up and getthem?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Centuries?" Willow just blinks at Jonn. "Oh wow. You're like a vampire."

Which might not be the politest thing to say, but it's the longest lived thing she knows, short of angels or demons. And while an angel might have been polite, a demon wouldn't have been.

"I still have to think about it hard to make things move. But it's something I learned, not something that was just me." She points to her laptop. "My scrying that way is just me.. I don't even know how I started doing it. I just did it. It would kind of be like explaining how to breathe to tell someone else how to."

Magic, at least, you could teach to someone who had the gift. Her scrying? Well, no. That was just Willow.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn releases another chuckle, shaking his head "like a vampire probably but not a vampire myself, no! I don't like blood, don't get incinerated by sun, can enter people's houses and a stake through my heart is just an annoyance." he comments, omitting the part that fire still is pretty bad for him, he has something in common with vampires other than his long life! "so anyways, what do you think your future here will be, Willow? I mean, where do you see yourself in a couple of years, watchtowerwise?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow flushes a pretty pink that doesn't go so well with her colouring or her hair. "I didnt' relaly mean a vampire. I just meant you lived a long time. I mean, I don't even know how long Martians live - you're the first one I've ever met."

She scrunches up her nose some, "I think most people die if you put a stake through their heart. I never really understood why that works on vampires. I mean, they're dead, right? Mostly?" Undead, actually, but she has a point.

Before answering, Willow sips her now lukewarm tea, and ponders. "I don't know what my future here is. I'm only really good at magic, so I suppose if there are those things to look after, I'll help? I'm not super strong, or super fast. I'm pretty smart, but so are a lot of people here, I bet."

She gives him a long look, "I know you said if I'm here there must be a reason, but I don't know what someone like me really does here. I don't even know who I'd ask about that. And I'm new, so it's not like I've seen a whole bunch of what goes on, or come to any meetings. I think I thought once we solved Superman's disappearance that was it. People like me don't really get to do important things like this. And nobody asked me where I see myself before now."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn grins slightly "ah I don't know why vampires die with a stake through their heart, as I said that's not my area of expertise! I know that I don't since this human shape is just a, well, not who I am, so if you pierce my heart, since I don't really need it to survive, well." he shrugs, eating another oreo and summoning a satisfied expression on his face.
"as of now, we have almost noone on here knowing about magic and what people might call the supernatural, so you might be more valuable than you think! And" he smiles "well, as for noone asking you to think about your future, well if I were the twentyth person to ask that where would my originality be?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
There's a shy giggle from Willow over the thought of Jonn's originality. "I don't know. You're still the only Martian I know." Though she nods. "Maybe after I've been here for a time I'll have a better idea. So far I'm still learning what people do here, and even what I can do. John - John Constantine - he's my mentor. I guess I'm his apprentice? He's decided I need more training. Which is true. I mean, there's only so much you can do on your own. Only, I think when you're more experienced you can experiment more. But right now it all seems like a very lot to take in."

She smiles and ducks her head. "I guess I'm babbling. I didn't mean to." Lifting her head. "Buffy is really a lot better with the Supernatural stuff than I am. Maybe John, too. He's a warlock. I guess maybe where I see myself in a few years is still learning and getting better. Maybe feeling like I deserve this honour."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn gives a sort of sad smile, aimed at Willow "and I will be the only martian you'll meet, too..." he admits, sinking a bit in his chair, eating another oreo to distract himself. "oh, well, we never stop learning, never. Even masters still have to learn! But I see your point" his smile turns more serene again "you already deserve this or you wouldn't be here, hm? As for what you can, can't do and all of that, we're available to you if you have questions or anything, we're here for that! And you're always free to send a message my way, I'll do what I can to help"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"You know what I mean," Willow offers, not exactly brushing the notion of deserving aside, but expressing it in a more global, personal sense. "And I'd like that - being able to message you, I mean. I can give you my cell number?"

Which is as easily done as said.

His sad look isn't missed, bringing a frown to her features. "Oh. I didn't know that. I'm sorry. I guess something horrible happened to the rest of them? That must be terrible not to have anyone else like you. I'd be sad too." Nodding to herself. "Why'd you come here to be with us, though? When you could be anyone or anywhere."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn nods in affirmation "all dead." he gives his simple answer, cutting off the topic with another smile, or trying to at least "well, I came here to avoid the same fate of Mars, to you humans. I mean, I think noone else deserves this, and if I can help to ward against it, I am more than happy to. Not to mention you were a near planet!" he admits with a light chuckle, then falls quiet as an oreo finds his way into his mouth. The package is almost empty!
"oh, sure, that would work, the cellphone I mean?" he says, again summoning a smile "or use the league communicators, or just think about me intensely or anything. I usually keep a light telepathic attention to the various leaguers, so if someone needs me I'm easily reachable..."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Wait, so it's something that could happen to us?" She scrunches up her face, pondering that. "So, like an alien invasion or something? Like Darkseid was?" That, she knew of, and knew more of since she'd reasearch the old gods when Superman had been struck down. "I guess that's why you're with the Justice League? To help them with that? Wait, I guess you probably already did."

She grins sheepishly. And as quickly as she does that, she's giving him a surprised look again, "We have communicators?" Yeah, she might have missed some of the welcome wagon package. "I didn't know. I mean, I guess? And.. like in my head? Because that sounds kind of creepy." Shivering as she considers it.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn shakes his head "martians died because of themselves, not because of an external force." he replies, maybe a bit vaguely. "oh, I am one of the founders of the league, to be honest" he admits, smiling again "and yes, we have communicators, you should get one too! And no, I'm not into your head. It's more like, keeping my mind receptive to your, yelled thoughts? Almost like when you listen in a crowd, being prepared to ear certain sounds... Or when you drive, when you ear a siren in the distance. You're not consciously looking for it, but you know that when it sounds, it means you need to move to the side?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
NOW Willow feels even more stupid than before, not having known that. "Oh. I guess I sounded silly asking those things then, didn't I? It's just this is all so big and new.." And maybe she'd not gone overboard in researching it in case it wasn't true and had just been a blip of coincidence and happenstance in her life.

She quickly covers her embarassment by focusing on the telepathy thing. "So, like scrying sort of? Only not so directed." She looks thoughtful and sorts that out in her mind. "Like if I think of you enough, a part of your brain that is looking for thoughts of you picks it up. And then you know. And Willow thoughts feel different than Superman thoughts."

She looks pleased with herself for figuring that out. Even if she might be wrong about it.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn shakes his head, again! "don't feel silly, there's no reason for you to! You are not, so..." he comments, turning his headshaking into a nod of approval "yes, sort of! You explained it well. I could make it focused, see through your eyes, ear through your hears, see what you think and all that other telepathic stuff. But when I can, I don't. I respect privacy!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
There's another of those answering nods from Willow. "That's a kind of magic I don't know. Mind magic is.." She quiets and thinks about how she wants to say it. "It's like you said, private. Some people can think like that better than others. I don't think I'm one of those people. I don't think like other people. Which is fine, because I don't know that I really want to be in someone else's head. Isn't it kind of busy to do that? Trying to keep you thoughts and them thoughts different?"

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"it is not like something I can choose to have or not to, telepathy is part of us martians. Almost like sight is part of you humans. There are those who don't have it, those who have it, those who have an excellent sight, that's how it is for our telepathy." J'onn tries to explain, glancing at the screens again to make sure everything works smoothly "and it is complicated sometimes, yes, but you manage with practice. To use the sight example, it's like looking at a crowd again. You at first see a group of people, then you look harder and see some males, some females, then you sweep your gaze over them and see faces, then start guessing ages, see clothes, and all of that stuff."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
It makes a certain kind of sense to Willow, who hasn't been ignoring the screens either, but it's nice that someone else is also checking this being her first official time in the saddle. "I get that. But I don't know how you keep you separate. Maybe it's easier for you because it's part of you. I just meant that some people can think differnetly so their magics are different. Sort of how some people are good at maths and others are good at English. If you were good at everything nothing would be special. Which would be really kind of sad."

She smiles at him. "I guess I sound pretty young compared to you." She's not unaware. And, she is young. This time, though, she is careful not to say silly, allowing her obseravtion to carry no judgement. "I guess everyone on earth must seem a bit young to you if you've lived that long."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"right and wrong. I've had a long life, true, but unfortunately" J'onn pauses "I can't remember a lot of it so, well..." he shrugs "if experience and age go side by side, I wouldn't really know about my age." he concudes with a slow shrug.
"Oh I understand your thought about talents, for sure! Like, I can do this but not, say, throw lightning bolts or anything. I could make you believe I did, but not actually do that."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow totally brightens at that. "I can throw lightning bolts! They're amazing!" And it was true. Both things. Even if she was also fairly certain it was a bad thing(tm) to play with lightning, remembering this belatedly and trying not to look guilty over what she's just admitted to. "But I can't make anyone believe anything they don't already."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn chuckles and winks, then extends his right hand in front of him "what I mean is" he starts, starting to shape the illusion of a sphere of lightning on his palm "I can make illusions, by projecting my thoughts around me, to be picked up by, say, you or someone else" he adds details to the illusion. The crackling sound of electricity, the static charge in the air, even a light smell of ozone "you see the lightning, ear it, feel it. I could throw it at you, and even make you believe like your body was actually hit by it, probably that could make it true, but still." he lets the illusion fade all of a sudden "I never had any lightnings in my hand"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow grins and nods. "I know. But I can really do it. And it wouldnt' just be in your mind. Only, Xander says lightning is what dark force users use. I"m not really sure why it's bad, though. I mean, it's just energy, right? And it's not really different than using a weapon. It's just a weapon your mind creates."

She shrugs and shakes her head. "I never really admitted that to anyone. Not the using it part. The part where maybe I don't really think it's evil afterall. But part of me almost wishes it was. Mostly because I sometimes really wish I were more powerful."

Willow doesnt' precisely look giulty as much as sheepish. "I know, I'll get better with more practice, but sometimes I still do wish I were better now. I could do so much more to help if I could."

After a thoughtful second or two, she scribbles on a piece of paper. "I know you said I could think of you, but it's kind of hard to have a conversation that way. I mean, it feels like it's an emergency thing. So maybe you could use this sometime and we could just talk? Or maybe go for a coffee or something?"

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn nods at first, then looks confused "dark force us..." he pauses, his eyes closing as his mind goes looking around for the answer "oh, the movie? The..." he chuckles, shaking his head "lightning is not an evil thing! I mean, zeus, the greek god of all gods, father of them at least, uses it. Thor uses them, plenty of other good creatures use lightning! It is, as you said, a tool, not an evil thing." he shrugs "I don't know about magic lightning, but I think it's the same?" he then smiles again, waiting for her to finish writing on the paper "I'd be glad to talk, and meet up for coffees and all, Willow!"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
There's almost palpable relief as someone else declares lightning to be okay, even if a tiny wee partion of her heart and soul still kind of want it to be evil in case it would make her more powerful. Also, it's like a secret secret if it is, right? The thing you do that you don't tell anyone else because they'd try to stop you - even if Willow doesn't /really/ want to be evil. She just wants to be.. more important.

"I'd like that. Wait, do you have a phone?" He must have, he took her number. It would be pretty silly of him to take it if he didn't. "I mean, can I have your number?"

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn looks at the paper, memorizes the number, then makes a nearby pen fly in his hand to write his own number on the same piece of paper, that he hands back to Willow afterwards "I have one of those things, yes! There's my number. I have memorized yours, will add it as soon as I go back to my quarters to pick that, phone?" he asks, almost as if he still wasn't very familiar with phones and all, futuristic communicators are ok but phones are almost unknown!

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
The number is taken with a pleased smile. "Phones are almost as good as email. But they're better for texting. You know, little conversations." She looks guiltily back at the monitors. "I should probably do a full sweep now, though. I mean, we've been checking, but I'd like to say I did it regularly over my shift. This was nice, though."
