Cast of Characters: Black Canary, Batwoman

Black Canary has posed:
Dinah Drake had been in Gotham a few days while promoting her band's up coming album release. Today was her final one in the city and she had just finished the final radio station segment and a podcast for one of the local fangroups of the band. It was then that she got an invitation, or rather Canary did. It came from one of Gotham's other group of celebrities, those that preferred rooftops and night time to daylight. Responding to accept, she went back to her hotel room to relax.

That evening, late, close to the agreed upon meeting time, Canary slipped out and made her way to the top of the indicated building. She moved quietly, alert but relaxed. Certainly not expecting trouble.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman requested the meeting, of course, knowing Dinah's band schedule as well as her masked identity. After all, as a fellow member of the 'Birds, it's always nice to be neighborly.

She's been here for a little while already when Canary arrives. And once the blonde begins looking around, a tall shadow detaches itself from a large HVAC unit. Black lined with red. With Bat ears.

"Nice to see you again, Canary." Batwoman offers in her trademark low, husky voice. She holds up a thermos in one hand and a couple of cups in the other. "Coffee? Sorry I didn't bring any donuts."

Black Canary has posed:
Canary smiles and approaches the taller redheaded vigilante. "And you, Batwoman." She looks to the thermos. "Well that's okay. Depending on the quality of the coffee and what else may be added to it already" she jokes. "Here" she offers as she takes both cups so the other woman can pour. "How have you been? How has Gotham been?"

Batwoman has posed:
Kate Kane shrugs, unscrewing the thermos cap. "It's black, but good stuff. I made it at home." She pours one cup, then offers. "If you want, though, I can probably find some Bat-sugar-packs or Bat-creamer in my utility belt." Red lips pull back into a wry smile at that. "We've seen an uptick in drug traffic in Gotham lately, now that you mention it. Pretty sure it's part of something a lot bigger. How about your neighborhood?"

Black Canary has posed:
Canary grins and nods. "Works for me." The coffee. She drinks it black and nods a thanks for the drink and the offered fixings. "That's not good." The drugs. "Really, I'm not sure. I've been in the studio a lot lately. I haven't.. exactly been in Starling recently." The tone suggests she and Oliver Queen may well have something going on. Or not, as case may be.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman's trademark red lips smirk at the implications, but she doesn't ask. "Well you really should get out more." she suggests, taking a sip of her own coffee. "Can't figure this crap out from inside a studio. Not that I'm being judgemental of your work/life/night-life balance, of course." Like Kate has any reason to talk. "We could use your help around here, if you can find an excuse to stay on the East Coast."

Black Canary has posed:
Canary nods. "I'm done with my promo stops for the next four days. I can stay here at least that long. Just let me know how I can help." Sipping from the coffee, she wraps her hands around the cup absently as if to draw warmth from it. "What do you have so far? Any leads on the organization or gang behind the upswing?"

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman's humor fades as she sips, considering her coffee before looking over to the fishnet-clad blonde. "The fact that we're hearing reports all up and down the Coast, for starters. And from multiple sources. MD12, Maggia, and others." She shakes her head slowly. "I've never seen anything this extensive before."

Black Canary has posed:
Canary frowns. "No. That is abnormal." SHe looks out over the city. "I'll check with the agencies I have contact with and see what other intel is out there. Anything I can do to help" she says with a nod of assurance.

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman looks out over the city as well, sipping slowly. "It's always good to have your help, especially now. Nice to have the extra hands." She pauses, gaze wandering. "And legs, too." The wry smile returns.

Black Canary has posed:
Canary laughs. "Yeah? Well so much for that work before pleasure hint you dropped a minute ago?" A wink as she sips her coffee again. "You were right. This is good. I might stick around longer just for your coffee."

Batwoman has posed:
Kate Kane's grin broadens, the mask hiding any brow-waggling that might be going on. "Yeah? I've been told I'm pretty good in the kitchen for breakfast as well." she replies. Or was that an offer? "So tell me about your concert schedule? I've got a friend who might want tickets."

Black Canary has posed:
Canary laughs. "Yeah? Maybe I'll put you up to the challenge sometime." Without a mask it's easy to see she's not upset in the least. "We haven't got a tour settled yet. It probably won't start till spring. But I think we'll be playing some warmup gigs just with little publicity. I'll get you some tickets when I know more?"

Batwoman has posed:
Batwoman laughs as well. "I'll hold you to that!" she quips back, pointing a finger at the blonde while holding the coffee cup. "You'd like her, I think. Tall, leggy redhead. Spoiled heiress living off of her stepmother's money. But she means well." Pause to sip again. "I'll send you a packet of leads on the Gotham front as well."

Black Canary has posed:
Canary laughs. "I expected no less." Then she laughs again. "This city has more idle rich than the rest of the nation I'm thinking." She shakes her head. "We all do our best" she agrees. "Thanks on that. I'll look it all over and see what I can contribute. Thanks again for the coffee. It was good to catch up with you."

Batwoman has posed:
"And most of them lead double lives of some sort." Batwoman replies, draining her coffee. "At least that's what I've heard, anyway." She rises, then. "Keep the cup for now. You can return it next time. And don't be a stranger, Blondie. It was good seeing you again, too."
