Elixir has posed:
Josh is sitting at a table by a window in the library of the Avengers Mansion, which is deserted today. He has his books, tablet, phone and a coffee in front of him and is taking notes with a stylus. He taps feet along with the music in the earbuds he wears and all but oblivious to the world around him while he works.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica figured if there was anyplace she could actually find Josh, it would be here. Studying. And it seems she was right. She slips into the library, watching him for a moment. She's gone for comfort today, with a black tracksuit with her spider emblem on the left side of the chest. The jacket is unzipped, and she is wearing a fitted white tanktop beneath, and grey and red sneakers on her feet. Her hair is down over her shoulders in waves still slightly damp from a shower.

She watches Josh for a few moments before deciding to approach him. Because approaching means interrupting. Then she makes her way over to where he is sitting, and places a hand on the edge of the table beside him, where he is sure to be alerted to her presence.

Elixir has posed:
The young X-Man sees the hand and looks up. He smiles broadly when he realizes it belongs to Jessica. He stands up and puts his hands in the back pockets of his jeans, which straightens out the NYCFC logo on the soccer jersey he is wearing.

"Hey, Ms. Drew, how're you doing? Everything alright? Get any sleep last night?" Josh asks. It looks like he did not get a lot.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"I slept like the dead, I think," Jessica replies. Her eyes look tired, like she's pulled an all-nighter or two. "I didn't even hear the fridge. Have you rested, though? That's the more important question. And call me Jessica. Or Jess. I think we're past formalities, don't you?" She smiles a little and looks down at his layout on the table. "Am I interrupting anything important?"

Elixir has posed:
"Nah, I'm just studying," Josh says with a smile. "Have a seat?"

Josh stretches and yawns. "I got a few hours. Had to get up for training and then my phone kept ringing. So I just stayed up. You sure you're doing alright though, right? I didn't miss anything?"

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica shakes her head. "Mm...no, I don't think so. Still just a little tired, but I think that's to be expected." Jess has a seat beside Josh's seat and looks over his text. "What are ya studying, anyway? Looked pretty intense in here..."

Elixir has posed:
"Organic chem," Josh says with a gesture to the open text. "And Anatomy II, Biology IV and Immunology this semester. Just trying to catch up, you know? Like, a lots been happening for a while now. But good stuff, so it's cool. What do you get up to when you're blowing up freaking Sentinels singlehanded? Which was epic. Like, terrifying epic."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"I didn't blow him up," Jessica admits. "Don't think I did. I don't think I have enough firepower for that. He was already damaged. He'd been shot up, and I guess I just pushed it over that edge." She breathes a mirthless laugh. "I guess Sebastion was right," she says, mostly to herself. "I don't need to be there when they self-destruct."

Elixir has posed:
"I dunno, I saw what I saw on the news," Josh says with a grin. He raises an eyebrow and teases. "What was that about self-sacrifice you said on the bike?"

Josh leans back and trades his stylus for his coffee.

"We got invited out for beers with the fire and EMT people," Josh says with a chuckle. "Susan's pretty stoked, she's messaged me like three times to see if you wanna go."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"We should totally go, then," Jessica says with a grin. "And I didn't intend to do anything of the sort. I intended to put that thing down on the ground. I wanted to shortcircuit him." Jessica rises and paces a small circle around Josh. "But...He found you. He found you when I couldn't see you. I couldn't let him do what he was about do, Josh."

Elixir has posed:
"Hey, it's cool, they're Sentinels. Who knows what they're gonna do, you know? But seriously, I've been out there before, it's what I do," Josh says soberly. "I'm no Avenger, but still, I'm good at taking cover while you crazy people do your thing."

"Not that I'm complaining, cause like, the Sentinels are nuts. It didn't even try to use the nullifier beams," Josh adds with a grin. "That shit was nuts. And it was good you took it out, cause the cops couldn't take out the shooters until the Sentinel was done. They don't have anything on a Sentinel, they were talking about it after when I was in triage. Pretty crazy. You saved their asses for sure."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"I did what I do. You did what you do. That's all we CAN do, right?" Jess circles back around thoughtfully. "But I would be dead. If you hadn't." She pauses quietly in consideration of the magnitude of the miracle. "And I didn't think that was possible."

Elixir has posed:
"Yeah, it wouldn'tve been. You should've been dead, you got /rocked/. Whatever you've got going on in you that makes you heal so fast, that kept you alive," Josh says soberly.

"I was kinda pissed, I kept telling them to find out where you were when I couldn't get you on comms," Josh says with an uncharacteristic frown. "They were like, stonewalling me, and then /finally/ took me to see you. I guess they thought you were totally gonna die, I mean, I guess anyone would. So seriously, when you were still there I was like, fuck, thank God. I keep telling my team, just stay alive and I got you."

Josh runs a hand through his hair and chews on his lower lip a bit. "Yeah, I was kinda freaking out when I couldn't get you. I wanted to go find you, but there were all these people and... Well, Scott always says we signed up for the crazy shit. Those people didn't."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"It's all right, Josh." Jess attempts to rouse Josh from his immersion in that terrible memory by placing a hand on his shoulder. She squares her gaze with his and looks directly into his face. "You did what you were there to do. I'd rather you save all those people who got brought into triage than for you to come look for me."

Elixir has posed:
Josh runs a hand through his hair and gives Jessica a half-smile.

"I know, just glad you're okay," Josh says and smiles a bit more. "Blew the minds of everyone there that you were alive. You're tough as hell!"

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"I have....a lot of stuff besides just webs and blasts. Endurance. Healing. Strength. Without any one of those things, I /wouldn't/ still be here. But, Josh. Without /you/, I wouldn't still be here, either. I would have died before I could have healed. It was..." She blows out a sigh and shudders, trying to shrug off the memory. "It was bizarre. I've been hurt before. I've been hurt badly. That was a whole different experience. I thought I was already dead."

Elixir has posed:
"I didn't do anything to get like this," Josh says and shrugs. "You were pretty messed though. Had to be weird..."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Weird doesn't begin to cover it. I could /feel/ my life, and it was fading. And I felt...I felt /you/. And it strengthened me. It bolstered whatever force this is inside me. What you have is just...it's an amazing gift. YOU are an amazing gift, Josh. Don't ever let anyone take anything away from you." Jess smiles and looks around. "I uh...I'm - I'm taking up your time. You're studying..."

Elixir has posed:
Josh reddens notably at the compliment from beautiful Avenger.

"I'll keep that in mind," he mumbles. "And it's okay, serious. I should keep going though. But, I can tell Susan you'll come out for drinks with the EMTs?"

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Yeah," Jess replies with a growing smile. "Tell 'em I'll come out with you guys. It'll be fun. And it'll be good to get outta here to do something besides deal with death robots. I think we both need that, at this point."
