Date of Scene: 04 August 2019
Location: Kitty's Room - Xavier's Mansion
Synopsis: Kitty and Peter share moments from their past
Cast of Characters: Shadowcat, Spider-Man

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde turned her head to rest her chin on Peter's chest so they can look at each other more easily as they talk. Those soft brown eyes shined with warmth as she listened to Peter's explanation about his athletic career, or lack thereof, and the decisions he had to made regarding his powers that enhanced him beyond normal people.

"Do you have any idea how many students I see come through, who can't come to those kind of conclusions even with a whole school of examples to learn from?" she asks him, the words meant as praise of Peter. Kitty gives a soft chuckle. "God, listen to me. I'm barely past being one of those students. I mean, in age anyway. I guess I feel older sometimes though. I finished up here at 16 and went to college so I've been on my own longer than most 20 year olds," she says.

Kitty gives Peter a soft grin, her fingers teasing over his chest. "So, anyone give you a hard time about seeing a younger woman?" she asks him.

Spider-Man has posed:
Peter's fingers play little circles in the small of Kitty's back just above her hips as if hes writing some chemistry formula, smiling into the warmth of her gaze with the other of his hands coming up to lightly tap the end of her nose. "I had a crash course in responsibility when I was young... I had to look at things differently. Or I would disrespect the memory of a man I loved very much.. a farther when I had none."

There is hints of sadness, but her presence curbs it.. seeing her keeps him grounded in the here.. and her praise? It light up his eyes like an electric current. "I wonder if I could make a difference in that sometimes. If I opened up here at the school, especially to some of the more troubled students. Showed them they can be strong, unafraid, and still be good people

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's heart beats so strongly as Peter gives her even more reasons to feel for him as she does. "I think, that would be a wonderful thing to do. Are you thinking to do it as Spider-Man?" she asks him. "Or as yourself?" The self-professed fan girl still knows who he is, and finding out he is Spider-Man did not change that.

Kitty softly brushes her fingers back and forth over his shoulder. "I think you could maybe help some people, yes. It's the kind of thing I can imagine how difficult it would be to open up about," she tells him. "I know everyone has a few things like that," she says, looking away for a moment, something passing through her eyes.

Spider-Man has posed:
It's not as scary a notion now as it was a year ago. Tony hadn't pressured him to unmask, but there was indication that he no longer had to wear it. Few of the Avengers did. Peter takes his identity seriously, for so long he was alone out in New York fighting for the little guys.. the ones Iron Man and Captain America couldn't.

So he knew what happens if some knuckle head found who he is and took it out on Peter's friends.. or Aunt May.

"Probably as both." He looks her way then, seeing the reaction. Offering to unmask fully for the school, if not the world. It is not a small step at all. "Jury is still out though... lets not get the press conference involved just yet..." Grinning with a wink and his fingers sliding up between her shoulder blades.

When she glances a way, Pete slides fingers along her jaw and encourages her gently to look at him. "Do you 'want' to tell me? Nothing you say will ever change how i feel, either way."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty bites her lip as Peter is musing about the decision. Or maybe it's at what he says, indicating he's considering unmasking. "I am glad that the X-men aren't known. For the safety it brings my family," she says quietly. "That I am known by some of our enemies? Worries me. It is your decision Peter. But one you cannot undo once you've done it. I... oh I feel like I shouldn't offer an opinion. It is your choice. But, I wouldn't if I were you," she says softly.

Kitty leans up to softly kiss his lips. Just reminding them both of how she feels about him. Or maybe seeking the comfort at the thoughts in the back of her head, of harm coming to Aunt May, or others that Peter cares about.

She finally lets her lips part from his, and her thoughts turn instead to the question. "I've had some rough times. That have left their marks on me," she tells him. "Some of them more literally than I'd like," Kitty tells him softly. "You know Logan. I've known him my whole time at the school, and we're close. We have some shared history. In Japan. Back when I was 15," she tells him.

Spider-Man has posed:
Peter clearly values Kitty's opinion... possible more than any other besides his own. He listens to what she says, stroking fingers along her back slowly and nods, "You have an opinion in my decisions, Kitty... First, you're smart and you know how this all works as well as I do.. but more than that, a choice like that, one I cant unmake.. it affects you now. You're part of my life."

He brushes hair back from her brow and smiles softly, "I feel like that's where I failed before. I made decisions and I expected Betsy to respect them, but I never gave her a chance to tell me her side. I always want to hear yours... I might agree and I might not, but... I want to know anyways so we can walk this road together."

Then he listens, holding her, offering all the comfort his body can provide, "He and I have had our differences, but I think we understand each other better for them." Quietly, "I feel like our scars make us who we are. and you're a wonderful, thoughtful, amazing woman.. my woman." Kissing her forehead lightly.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty slides up Peter's body so she can rest her head against his as she hugs him after he's spoken of their decisions impacting each other. Her hand slides up into his hair, caressing along the back of his neck as she holds herself to him. "You are such an amazing man," she whispers to him.

Kitty lingers there for a long time before finally pulling her head back so they can see each other. After the heartfelt moment, it takes her a little bit to switch to the other topic. "I mentioned to you my father, right? About the bank. And the Japanese buying into it who turned out to be Yakuza looking for places to launder money?" she confirms.

"So, long story short, I snuck aboard their plane, followed him to Tokyo and interrupted their meeting. Well, one of the enforcers the Yakuza had was a man named Ogun. He was a ninja. And a sorcerer. One who was... I don't know how old. A hundred, two hundred, more? He had once trained Logan in ninjutsu. Well, he saw me phasing, and he decided my mutant power would be perfect for him to take over my body to live out his next life in," Kitty says.

Spider-Man has posed:
It was an abrupt switch, but Peter couldn't have known the extent of what Kitty was about to reveal. He was still luxuriating in the embrace and brushing hair from her face when the heaviness was delivered...

As soon as he starts putting pieces together his eyes go wide staring at her. Not in fear, certainly not in anger, but surprised compassion, "You had to deal with THAT at 15...." the words are barely a whisper leaning towards her so his forehead presses in against her's affectionately, hand laid flat on her back to pull her closer... tighter against him.. "You really have no reason to be impressed by what I've gone through... you're literally a living example of the plot of Big Trouble in Little Chinatown..." its meant as a soothing joke to relieve those horrible memories...

"Which I think makes Mr Jack Burton..." big grin, "Damn you're a badass..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty rests her head back against Peter's. Closing her eyes and savoring the feeling of his presence. "You've done plenty that's impressive," Kitty says. "Despite what that blowhard at your paper says," she adds, and her voice hardening a little as she mentions J. Jonah Jameson.

"But, extra points for the Big Trouble reference," she tells Peter, though Kitty's demeanor is still a bit more serious than normal. "So, well, long story. He captured me. And he put part of his psyche in me. I believed I'd grown up under his training, like I'd lived my whole life with him in Japan. And then he set me to kill Logan, who had arrived in Tokyo looking for me. I'd called for help right before I got caught," Kitty says.

She draws a slow breath and lets out. "Right, long story, keep short. Um, if I killed him, I guess that would have let Ogun take my body for himself then. So I nearly killed Logan. I had Ogun's skill, multiple lifetimes of it. But failed and Logan realized it was me. Broke the hold. And I lost much of the training, but Logan trained me in ninjutsu himself then so I'd have a chance. We managed to defeat Ogun in the end. I... I let him life. And then he rewarded that by trying to kill me the moment my back was turned, and Logan killed him."

Kitty tells the story in a quiet, factual voice. It was five years ago. Not a good memory, but something she's had time to live with. "So, um, here's the thing. Ogun's dead. But that bit of him is inside of me still. It always will be. And if I ever embrace it enough, it would take me over. Ogun's dead, so, he wouldn't take me over. But I probably would not be the Kitty Pryde that you lo- ... I mean, the one that you've come to care about," she says.

Spider-Man has posed:
Pete grins at his bonus points, but quickly realizes shes not as amused by it as normal and gets a bit more serious himself. His arms stay around her, but hes quiet this time, listening to the story and trying to unpack it as its being explained to him...

Which turns out to be surprisingly easy once she looks upon him and nearly slips up on the nature of his feelings towards her... His grin flickers, but he stays quiet for a while longer. Really just watching her, hand rubbing up and down her back with his finger dangling and just enough pressure to tickle lightly across her bare skin.

"Okay. Well, if that happens... I'll be there out front trying to bring you back.. I lo-..." clearly he did that intentionally, "Care about you a great deal more than to let a silly thing like three hundred year old wizard ninja soul possession remnants, take you away from me..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's eyes shine at Peter at the support he shows, and at how he injects some humor back into the moment that brings out a smile, and a laugh. She lets out a soft, happy sigh as she looks back to Peter.

Kitty reaches her hand up to Peter's cheek, resting her fingers there and slowly caressing his skin as she gazes back into his eyes. "I love you, Peter Parker," she whispers to him quietly. "Love you. And.... care about you very much," she adds, making the last part come out quickly as she gives a warm little laugh. "You mean so much to me. And you've made me so happy. I can't imagine my life now without you in it."

Spider-Man has posed:
There are things that, even if you already know it to be true, sound so good when someone says it out loud. Peter could wait a life time for a lot of things and be content, he knows how he feels and he was already pretty certain it was shared... but hearing it?

Pete takes a slow deep breath and stares up at Kitty through the hands on his cheeks, the smile on his face is soft, but the look in his eyes? Scream to the rush of endorphins that signal the rapid pace of his heart speeding up.

His hands come up and lay atop Kitty's, one on either side of his face, eyes staring right up at her.

"I've never loved anyone so much in my life."

The usually verbose Peter Parker says it simply, leaning up to kiss her.

whispering after the tender embrace, "My girlfriend is a ninja... my girlfriend is a ninja..." laughing as he does a forward snake writhing st her, "whose girlfriend is a ninja?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty breaks out into laughter and she slips her arms about Peter's shoulders to hug him so very tight. "Your last girlfriend was a ninja too as I recall it," Kitty says, laughing. "Or, well, actually I don't even know if that's true. She's sneaky but I'm not quite sure what her style is," she says.

She leans her head forehead in against Peter's. "But you're mine now, Peter Parker. No one else's. I love you, and I want to be with you," she tells him, sighing. Kitty closes her eyes. "And my boyfriend is a superhero. He's an Avenger, who has saved the city from I can't even guess how many bad guys," she says quietly. "Do you keep count? Like a scoreboard somewhere. Or maybe a... I don't know, what's the spider-equivalent of notches on a stock? Like... webs in a corner?" she teases.

Spider-Man has posed:
"I... okay..." Pete started to protest the facts, but they are facts... so he furrows his brow thoughtfully and joins Kitty's laughing, albeit quietly, "I feel like her style is designer of some kind, but if I get the image of you and Betsy fighting off traditional ninjas using a dulche leather belt as a weapon, so help me...." He teases, then nuzzles in his forehead against Kitty's

"Forever and ever, Kits." He murmurs to her, His arms drop from her hands and snake around her waist to hold her close. "Probationary Avenger if we're being technical, but I have kicked a lot of bad guy ass..."

Does he keep score? Pete glances side to side with a conspiratorial look to his eyes, "I call it the spiders-web... and its where all of us keep tabs on who we've brought down... right now its mostly me and Spider-girl.... uh Ghost Spider, but there's more now and the numbers will grow!"

"This close I came to making a Rita Repunzle joke..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty laughs softly. "The Spider-Web, hrm?" she asks. It seems to spark other thoughts. "So, ok I realize you might not be able to talk about this, so if so just feel free to say so. But the other spider heroes out there? Are also from genetically altered spiders? I mean is that like... is that a thing or is that just you?" Kitty asks curiously.

She considers a moment and says, "I haven't really kept score. It seems like we end up dealing with really weird stuff so often. As Negasonic once told me, our leaves are really strange. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff that's gone on," she says, shaking her head.

Kitty motions over to where Lockheed is stretched out, lying on his back over the belly of the lime green stuffed bunny, body arched over it so his head and tail are both hanging straight down on opposite sides of it. "Or, you would. I mean. I have a space dragon."

Spider-Man has posed:
"Oooh. laawwd lemme tell you..." Peter uses s made up preacher voice for a second, flopping backwards with his fingers laced together behind his head, "Okay, so...."

"There's actually four of us... I'll introduce you to them as we get the chance, but here's the genetic mutated spider rundown: Three different genetically mutated spiders bit four different people in the span of 9 years... one of the spiders bit two different people one the SAME DAY.... we're talking a statistical anomaly like hitting the lottery three times in a row playing the exact same lottery slip each time... it isn't improbably, its impossible and that's just the tip of the iceberg..."

"three of those spiders bit people who went to high school together..." his hands come out from under his head to pantomime his brain exploding...

Still smiling up at Kitty, those hands fall down around her neck and shoulders, "All that craziness aside...." He leans the short distance to her and kisses her softly, tenderly, "I love you, Katherine Pryde." and that felt really amazing to say.
