Aquaman has posed:
At the appointed time that day, a young Human woman in a blue dress of distinctly Atlantean cut from the Atlantis Embassy is at the Oyster Bay embassy dock to meet Agent Darcy Lewis. She is greeted with great courtesy. Darcy is led aboard an Atlantean vessel, which takes takes them across the choppy waters of Oyster Bay to the Embassy without a pitch or roll.

On arrival, Darcy's escort leads her into the main entrance of the Embassy, telling her politely about the architecture and symbolism since it is her first visit. The walls are white and gold, with lines of flowing water inset and kept in place invisibly. The two are taken up a lift, which is really a pedestal of water that is hard underfoot. Darcy is shown to a second floor observation room with a long conference table and big window with a view toward the open ocean. There is also low table, some soft chairs and a nice view of the water. Darcy is offered refreshments, served and left to wait for the King.

Fifteen minutes later Darcy's escort returns preceding the Atlantean King. Arthur arrives dressed in some kind of casual pants and shirt combination in a deep, deep green chased in gold.

"His Majesty King Orin II of Atlantis," the escort announces, bows and leaves.

"Welcome, Agent Darcy Lewis," Arthur greets her with a polite smile. He comes over to shake hands. Then Arthur moves to the comfortable chairs and takes a seat. He gestures for Darcy to do the same.

Darcy Lewis has posed:
It was no small feat, trackign down the Aquaman as a member of the League. But Darcy managed to leverage her SHIELD access to get it done. Then, it was up to her smooth talking to get her appointment. She followed the person sent to collect her, her eyes skimming along the archetecture that's pointed out. Like the human she is, Darcy reaches out to trail her fingertips along the plane of water that is the walls.

"Whoooaaa," she breathes. Refreshments accepted, Darcy waits, nibbling and looking around and being very patient. When the door opens and the king is announced, she very quickly pushes to her feet, steps back from the table, and offers a curtsey without lowering her gaze tot he ground.

"Thank you so much for meeting with me, Your Majesty," she replies, straightening as he offers a handshake and then sitting after he motions his permission for her to do so. The human knows how to act around royals, it seems.

Aquaman has posed:
"My pleasure," Arthur says with a bit of a smile. "You had no trouble with the crossing? The ride is perfectly smooth, but some swear they can feel the waves anyway and get here sick."

Darcy Lewis has posed:
"Didn't feel a thing, actually," Darcy says, a smile on her face.

"Which I was really surprised by. I was expecting it, so not having it was... it was almost as trippy as the walls."

Aquaman has posed:
"We are an old people, we do things different than you are used to," Arthur says.

"Magic, technology... Much like the Asgardians. But better, obviously," he adds lightly.

Arthur slaps his thighs with his palms. "So! What brings an agent of SHIELD to visit Atlantis?"

Darcy Lewis has posed:
Better than the Asgardians? Darcy smirks at this, in a way that suggests that she is willing to disagree with him, but later.

"I'm here because I'm hoping you can help me get in contact with one of your fellow League members: Flash. His grandson was abducted several weeks ago, and I'm looking into it," she replies.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur frowns immediately. "Abducted? Is he still missing?" Arthur says. He sits up and leans forward.

"Does the Flash not already know?"

Darcy Lewis has posed:
"He's returned. I didn't know who to contact until the boy gave me Flash's name, so i don't know if his grandfather is aware of the abduction. Impulse did state that both Supergirl and Superboy found him on his return, and SHIELD Medical did give him fluids, checked his vitals, and fresh clothing. He seemed in good health, but no doubt the time was tramatic. He left the Triskelion shortly before I placed my call to the Embassy," she reports, voice as level as if she were talking to a superior officer. It's crisp and formal.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur raises an eyebrow at something in there but does not interrupt.

"I will get the Flash your contact information," Arthur says with a wave of his hand as if that were the least important thing to talk about here. "Who was responsible for this? Is the Flash's grandson still in danger?"

Darcy Lewis has posed:
"Impulse stated that he was abducted by Latveria's Dr. Doom. Something about using him to use the Speed Force, but someone named Zoom, possibly another speedster captured by Doom, freed him. I have no information yet on the whereabouts of either of the 'ooms, nor can I be a hundred percent certain that the boy is no longer in danger. I made sure he was fed and hydrated, asked medical to look him over, but he is not a SHIELD agent, nor a full asset. I can not, and would not, try to get anyone from SHIELD to hold him against his will. And I wasn't going to put a tracker on him either. Not without telling him. It's a trust thing. So, I don't know where he is right now. I hope, with his parents," Darcy replies, sliding over a card with her name and contact information so that Aquaman can give it to Flash.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur makes a bit of a grimace at the mention of Latveria.

"I will ask the Flash to get in touch with you right away, and bring this to the attention of the Justice League. Thank you for coming to me about this, Agent Lewis," Arthur says seriously. "I will look into how the young man is doing as well."

Darcy Lewis has posed:
"Thank you, Your Majesty. I'm not sure what, if anything, SHIELD can do, but I felt you and his family needed to know," Darcy replies, pausing to tilt her head for a moment.

"...I'm... sorry that it took me so long to get you this information. When the abduction happened, I pushed it up the chain of command, but wasn't given any information back on it. I.. I acted as soon as I could," she says, guilt in her eyes that the boy wasn't rescued sooner because... she basically did nothing.

Aquaman has posed:
"It is appreciated," Arthur says, with a creasing of his forehead. He continues diplomatically but sternly. "I am sure your superiors at SHIELD did what they thought was best, as quickly as they could. I would expect no less in this or future issues that affect the Justice League."

"Did your superiors send you here on any other business?" Arthur asks curiously.

Darcy Lewis has posed:
"Officially, my supervisor might not be aware that I'm here," Darcy replies. "I've submitted my preliminary report, but nothing further. I came here because I was worried about a boy and needed to try to get ahold of his family to make sure he'd be okay," she replies, chin lifting a quarter inch. Sure, this might come back to bite her, but children and puppies.... They are defenseless and whiel Darcy may just be a squishy human, she is no less protective of the innocent and the young for it.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur seems satisfied. "Then let me get this taken care of," Arthur says and rises. He offers a hand to Darcy. "You will hear from me when it is done. I know the Flash will appreciate your concern and the individual initiative."

Darcy's escort has appeared at a now opened door. Arthur makes his way out and the young woman in the blue dress smiles and waits for Darcy. She leads the SHIELD agent to the lobby where they are met by a young man in a green Atlantean suit. The man is carrying an ornately wooden bowl, carved to look like a seamless flow of waves were rippling around the outside.

"The King thought you would enjoy these," the young man says to Darcy with a smile. "A selection of Atlantean staples and delicacies. There is a memory chip in the envelope with suggestions for preparation and pairings."

He presents the bowl for Darcy to inspect, but it is clear from his stance he does not expect her to take it. It will be carried for her.

"The King also thought you would find use for these," Darcy's escort says. While Darcy was distracted by the bowl, the young woman had somewhere acquired a pair Riedell Phaze roller skates in yellow and black and exactly Darcy's size.

Darcy Lewis has posed:
Darcy stands when Arthur does, reaching out to take his hand.

"Thank you again for seeing me, and again my apologies that I wasn't able to do anything sooner," she says on another curtsey. Dismissed, Darcy leaves, and follows her escourt out. The bowl is gasped at, her eyes going wide. Red lips part at it, both for the beauty of it and at the items it contains. Her cheeks redden as it reminds her that she came with nothing but bad tidings. And still the king gives her-

"Holy fuck," the words are pulled from her in a whisper, eyes sliding from bowl to skates. These have been on her wishlist for a while. She was able to afford them, but she couldn't justify the purchase if she wasn't gonig to be skating as often as she used to. But, having them presented to her by the King of Atlantis blows her mind and takes her breath away. She reaches out, but seems almost afraid to touch them.

"I... I don't know what to... This is... I... I'll have to... May I have something sent in return? When... WHen I can think of something .... that's... right? As a thank you.. because this is...." Coherent thoughts, hard.

Aquaman has posed:
Darcy's hostess smiles.

"There is no need," she assures Darcy. "The King is generous to guests of Atlantis. It was his honour to receive you today, Agent Lewis."

The young woman gestures and Darcy is escorted back to the vessel that brought her, the young man coming along to carry the basket for her. On the other side he helps her load it into her vehicle and excuses himself. Darcy is left in the parking lot of the embassy dock in Oyster Bay while the sleek Atlantean vessel carries the embassy staff back across the water.
