Cast of Characters: Rift, Gravitas

Rift has posed:
Ah, Central Park. A beautiful spot for a picnic. Even if it's for one, and the basket is rather large for its sole diner. A red dot forms in the air near the lake, and tears open into a portal. Kitora, glowing with power (her body and all her clothing is glowing a uniform dull red, with bright red lines visible inside her legs, arms, and starbursts where her heart and brain would be) floats through, carrying the picni basket and a checkered blanket. The portal shows what looks like the roof of an old building. She looks around and inhales the crisp air, smiling as she lands on the ground, waving to a few kids who run screaming. Sighing, she stops glowing, returning to her normal appearance of a redhead Japanese girl with red eyes as the portal closes behind her, shirnking till it's just a dot and winking out as she spreads the blanket.

Gravitas has posed:
Victoria is a gravitic wrecking ball. There's nothing subtle about the girl who is making her way through central park right now, and that's despite the fact she looks like an ordinary girl. Sure, she's colourful- a wearing a deep blue dress, with grey-blue eyes, wild honey brown curls, and dark skin. White shoes that match her perfect smile. Short, a bit curvy, somewhat muscular. SHe exercises, at least. But it's the way that gravitational fields ripple as she passes like she is a far larger gravitational body that is memorable. She doesn't float, though. She frowns as she looks around, her eyes wide open... Just in time to see the fleeing children. So that is where young Vitoria heads, hands at her sides. "You're um..." A beat. "Glowing. Yeah, I know you know. Just- um. Hi!" Tori waves enthusiastically with her left hand then shrugs.

Rift has posed:
Right as you address her, she stopped glowing and just looks as normal as a redhead red-eyed Japanese girl can look. "Hello..." She squints. "You're..." She tilts her head. "I've never sensed gravitational flux around someone else before..." She sits down on the blanket. "I'm Kitora Alua."

Gravitas has posed:
"Neither have I," Tori responds seriously. She blinks those wide blue eyes, studying Kitora from head to toe. Then she shrugs and lifts her shoulders, rising onto the heels of her feet as she leans back to stretch, as a result, stresses her top slightly. Form-fitting, just for an instant. Then she takes a deep breath and settles back down. "Victoria Lawrence," she responds quietly. "Um. I'm not usually in New York. Are you here all the time? Maybe we just never met."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "I live in Westchester," she muses. "But this park is too cool - I guess you sensed my portal. Would you care to join me? I only brought a light lunch,b ut you're welcome to some," she states as she starts getting out an impressive spread of food.

Gravitas has posed:
"...High metabolism, huh?" Tori asks, tilting her head sligthly as she does so. "I mean, I eat too much, but- um..." She moves forward then and shrugs, dropping down onto the blanket in question. "Okay! I live in Metropolis but I can kind of go wherever I want, so..." She shrugs a little bit. "Yeah. I felt something happening and wanted to make sure no random black holes popped out or anything... You know. Just in case."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "Sorry if I disturbed you. But yeah... I never met someone quite like me in powers. Are you a mutant too?" she asks as she starts nomming on some chicken strips and gesturing for you to indulge. "Yeah - one of my firends tells me I have a speedster's diet."

Gravitas has posed:
Blue eyes fixate on you for a moment and then Tori nods slowly. When you gesture she snags some chicken strips of her own, stretching out on the blanket as she does so. "You're fine. I haven't run into anyone like me either. I don't know what I am. Just that I can do all kinds of crazy things. To, um. Large objects. You're already better at some stuff than I am. I mean, your picnic basket didn't explode into shrapnel." She shakes her head slowly, but there's a smile in it.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "I carried it through the portal. Maybe we can leave this for now and we can go flying... ever stand on the side of a skyscraper and just look down - or up - or arond? You get a totally different vantage of the city when you see it at a 90-degree angle." She smiles. "Do you always bend gravity a bit around you?" she finally asks.

Gravitas has posed:
"I mean... Almost always." As Victoria begins to concentrate that effect lessens and then finally disappears. She takes a deep breath. "It's sort of just a natural thing..." the girl notes quietly before turning her gaze upward to look around. "I've never stood on the side of a skyscraper. But I mean- flying. That I can do." She blinks as she starts to tilt her head. Slowly. "I have no idea what the portaling thing is either," Tori admits then. "Similar still. But, um. Let's eat then go flying? If you have the speedster diet going you're going to be dying by the time we get done otherwise." That causes the girl to offer a flicker of a grin.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua grins as sne nods as she starts shoveling food in in impressive fashion. She doesn't talk much, and isn't very ladylike as she eats enough for three before settling down. "Hmmmmm..." she muses. "Almost done?" she asks.

Gravitas has posed:
"Yep, I'm done." Tori shovels food away but she only manages to eat for one person of average size. Which Tori is not; she's tiny, even when one figures she has some extra curves. That lack of height will do wonders for that sort of thing. The girl bounces to her feet all at once and takes a deep breath. "Okay. Where do you want to head to?" Seh asks, turning her gaze toward the sky.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods as she packs away the basket. She starts to glow again as she opens a small portal - barely two feet wide - which shows a bedroom of some sort as she pushes the basket though after folding the lbanket up on top. Letting it close she jumps and starts to ascend.

Gravitas has posed:
"Convenient..." Tori comments quietly as that portal opens for you. She smiles then and follows Kitora toward the sky, floating easily at the same pace as the girl beside her. Victoria is content to simply... Follow, for now, blue eyes wide as she does so. She scans the people nearby and then shrugs a little bit, content to continue the relatively slow ascent being offered by her companion. For the moment, at least.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua smiles. "Let's go to the Empire State Building. We can stand on its spire and look down upon the grandeur of New York City!" she cooooos as she changes angle in midair and starts to 'fall' towards the tallest building in the city - gaining speed as she does so. "We should get a gauge of what theo ther can do - it might be useful someday."

Gravitas has posed:
"Okay! Empire State Building it is," Tori responds, nodding. She blinks as itora begins to fall toward that building. She adjusts her path a bit more 'naturally', in the sense of typical flight, but then she shrugs. Victoria spreads her limbs and lets herself "fall" as well, riding on the coattails of Kitora's gravitic distortion as she becomes essentially weightless. "As for what we can do. Um. Where do we even start?"

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua shrugs. "I dunno - of course, my earlier statement does only matter if we plan on hanging out more often," she cooooos as she continues to accelerate - but as the spiare approaches she throttles back until she ends up floating near the spire. "Which I do hope happens. You were curious how I didn't shred the picnic basket while transporting it?" she asks.

Gravitas has posed:
Victoria nods slowly at that. "I can't- do gentle. Anything smaller than a person, basically, and it better be really tough." The girl shakes her head slowly at that. "It's... complicated. I have trouble making sense of all the information and just- pull too hard, I guess." Tori shakes her head slowly but she's still smiling. "Of course we can hang out more," she agrees then. "I don't usually tell people about my powers, so this is really nice actually..."

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "My abilities seem built around finesse. I can suspend objects in a statis field around me - small or large. They orbit slowly around me - I can set them down or fire them like a cannon..." She stands sideways on the spire, still glowing, looking down. "It doesn't bother me which one of us is more powerful. To me - you're like the sister I never had. One whom... UNDERSTANDS what it is I do."

Gravitas has posed:
"I have sisters. I have a whole great big family full of siblings who are whiny and loud and annoying. ... And none of them would get it. Only Mia even knows." Tori is watching Kitora with wide eyes as she comes to stand next to the other on the spire. She is staring downward as well now, the building rattlng slightly as she settles. As she'd said. No real finesse. This, at least, she can do. "I have a field around me I can use to let me adjust how gravity affects things I touch, and when I do that I have all the control," Tori responds quietly. "But as soon as I touch anything around me-" She pauses. "I'm kind of made for destroying things, I guess. I haven't figured out how much I can lift but it's, like, a lot. We could visit space together if you want?" She shrugs slowly. "But ask me to grab an apple from the top of the tree and I can't do it." With that Tori shifts a couple steps closer to Kitora until they are almost touching.

Rift has posed:
Kitora Alua nods. "I've suspended a 10-ton vehicle in my stasis field. It's tiring, but I can do it. I can open portals to places I know. I've found that if I am in a really ugly situatino, suddenly I'm back at my safe place..." She smiles. "I can also increase my weight though it doesn't bother me any, and I've studied a form of martial arts focused around kicking." She smiles. "But that apple thing - that I could do. I could fly by an apple tree at high speed and if I time my stasis field just right I'd be orbited by apples."

Gravitas has posed:
"I'd crush all the apples and be orbited by apple sauce," Tori responds wrily. "And I can't portal but I can fly fast. Waaaaay too fast for being down around people even. Tends to be messy for, like. Trees... Buildings..." Tori mumbles before continuing a hair closer. Then she turns and moves to hug you impulsively She is a little shorter than you are but likely heavier given her build and muscle. But there's no threat there, just warmth. You did say sisters, after all. "I've- moved a semi truck? I helped super girl with a passenger plane, but I don't know who moved more of it..." She shifts slightly, tilting her head. "So, um. More than ten tons." A beat follows.
