Wanda's Long Day

Location:	Den - Avengers Mansion
Synopsis:	Wanda and Pietro catch up on happenings, which leaves Pietro very unhappy.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
The news about the ambush of Josh and Wanda was out there where Pietro could find it in the mission briefings. The two of them return to the mansion a day later. There's a buzz around the staff about Josh's skin having turned golden. The color, not the metal, which could be picked up on.

Wanda is currently in the den. Not doing anything at all. Just sitting in a chair with a drink in hand, and resting her head all the way back on the chair back so her face is more up towards the ceiling, than upright.

ZOOM.

Pietro was in the Den, dressed in a simple white shirt and some blue jeans. He sees Wanda and he stares right at her. "Wanda! Are you okay?!" protective Pietro was in full swing and it didn't seem like Wanda was injured at the very least, but that doesn't mean that he's not going to intensely worry.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda tilts her head back to a normal position. She gives an extra slow nod, one by which Pietro might deduce she's at least buzzing from the drink(s) she has had. "I'm ok. I was never hurt. Not physically," she says.

Wanda sets down the glass and rises from the chair, moving over into Pietro's arms. She hugs him tight. "He died in my arms, Pietro. And... I couldn't heal how badly he was hurt. And to save him other ways... I feared what might result," she says, her throat tight at the memory. "I'm lucky no one was around but the cyborg. I lost it and leveled... the whole place, when he died," she says.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro looks at Wanda as she looks at him with that extra slow nod. When she just slowly moves into his arms, he holds onto her like she was the only thing worth holding onto. Pietro was still taller than her, so he rests his head on top of hers. "I'm sorry, Wanda." Pietro was just fast. He could do none of the grandiose things that Wanda could...and if she couldn't heal this kid...

He knows what the report says, but he kisses her forehead. "What can I do? Hm?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda draws strength from her brother's presence, as she always have. "Just what you're doing. Be here for me," she tells him, letting her breath and soaking up the love that exists between them. "I don't remember leaving. There was a helicopter I think, and the noise... and... I ended up with him on Wundragore Mountain. On that rocky spur on the west side. The sun was setting, but... whew," Wanda says, letting out a breath.

"And then he... came back. His power somehow healed himself. I'm sorry I didn't come back earlier. But, well you can imagine what a mess I was emotionally. Needed some time to sort things out," she says, hugging Pietro tighter for a few seconds before letting him go again.

She moves to retake her seat, and get the drink again. "I suppose... I should feel better, knowing he's likely to return, even if that happens. I should have protected him better though. I let a threat to the paramedic they used to lure us, stay my hand for too long."

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro looks at Wanda as she simply tells him to just be as he is. To let her draw strength from him. Sure, Pietro's always been the backbone and foundation between the twins, but Wanda has grown considerably. Just when Pietro thinks she doesn't need him anymore, something like this happens!

"He came back to life?" He asks her curiously when she hugs him tight one more time before she lets him free, and he simply finds a spot to sit by her chair. His hand reaches for hers. Constant comfort, constant foundation. But this will certainly put a damper on his 'kill josh' plans.

"You can't spend time thinking about shoulda-woulda-couldas. Life is too fast for that, and you can't be ready for everything. There's always something that just...throws you off."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda's hand takes Pietro's readily. "Yes. He was stabbed through the brain, but he came back. And, other than his skin changing color, no worse for the experience as far as I can tell," she says. "If anything he seems more in touch with his healing power," Wanda tells Pietro.

His sister nods her head to Pietro. "You're right. And I've told myself that time and again. And I know it is true. But still. I imagine it will affect how I hand such a situation next time," she says. "At least the woman was alright. They are so rabid against mutants, I feared they might have hurt her for just being his friend."

Wanda shakes her head and looks back to Pietro. She squeezes his hand. "Something else you should know. Josh is trying to bring in and care for a little girl from the Dominican Republican whose life he saved. If he's able to get it worked out and get her a visa or whatever it needs to be, I told him I'd help. We'll get a house somewhere if so, though I'll keep the room here as well. Teleport back and forth."

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro seems to be opposed to this. "...You realize you two arn't married, right?" He seemed to be completely against any kind of shacking up or anything of the sort! Pietro narrows his eyes. "Why?" He asks about the child. "We always save lives. Usually by the millions. Why this particular child?"

Pietro questions everything. and yes, no matter what Josh does, Pietro will watch him like a hawk.

But when he hears that this kid came back from brain-death? Something that should be instantaneous and he came back from that? He wonders if this kid is a relative of Wolverine or something.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda says slowly, "Because he relates to what she is going through. Just it happened to him at an age he could handle it. Because seeing her taken care of means a lot to him. And because he means a lot to me."

Wanda sets down her drink and brings her other hand over to rest atop Pietro's hand that she's already holding. "Pietro, I'm still here with you, still your sister. But maybe the time was right for me to meet him. To take my life in this direction," she says. "Anyway, you would be a wonderful uncle," Wanda says warmly. "I don't even know if the government will let her come live here or not. But this is something I want to do."

Wanda smiles at her brother. "I can think of worse people for your sister to date than a guy who can heal her when she's injured. And you," she says, smiling at him.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro narrows his eyes. "Absolutely not. You've known this kid for what? A month tops?" He's completely against it, healing or no. "Oh yay, he can heal people. What else can he do again?" He's waiting for her to reply. "Is he going to be able to stop you from losing control? Is he going to be able to stop you at all? I've been down this road Wanda. This doesn't end well."

He growls. "and I'll be damned to be anybody's 'uncle'. Besides, what we need to worry about is Father. I haven't seen him in a while and he's bene quiet...and when he goes quiet, the world is usually about to get a wake-up call."

He turns his head from Wanda, taking his hand off her. He's clearly not too happy about this development. But has Pietro EVER been happy about ANY of Wanda's relationships?

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda is patient with her brother, knowing his reactions to those she has had an interest in. "This... yes it is sudden. But I know him far better than the time would have allowed normally. The first we learned of Hook, the drug, was a girl at Xavier's who was overdosing. He tried to heal her, but the alchemy in the drug immediately undid his healing again. It took the two of us together," Wanda says.

She gives a slow nod of her head. "His control in healing is extraordinary and makes me look like I'm applying band-aids by comparison." Pietro will know Wanda can heal serious wounds, so that is saying something. "I needed to let him guide the magic. So I made a connection between us. It was my power, but I... made a link that let him control it once I brought it forth. And... well it should have faded in... hours at most. But it persisted. Something about his own power having been going at the same time. We've had a connection. Feeling some of what the other feels. I know him as I know few others except for you, Pietro," Wanda tells him.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro now looks angry.

"Fuck. That." And now Pietro is on his feet and he's pacing. Its usually the precourser that he's going to do something extremely violent and hostile. "When will you learn?!" Pietro says with the rage biting his words. "How does this end, Wanda? How has it always ended? Its always been me and you against the world. The World. And in case you haven't realized, this kid is part of Xavier's school, which means he has Xavier's ideals. Do you really think he's never going to hurt you or betray you when he knows who our father is?" Pietro clearly trusts nobody. Its a well-obtained mindset.

"And to connect with him on that level...Unbelievable!" Pietro looks about ready to storm out. Clearly, if she wanted his blessing...she doesn't have it.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda rises to her feet. "Pietro," she says softly, moving over towards him and gently resting her hand on his shoulder. "I know his feelings towards father. I could feel what he felt," she says softly. "Pietro, he cares about me and wants the best for me. As I know you do. You are always my big brother and we are both always here for each other. But I do love him," she says softly. "It was not something I intended. But it has ended up being a blessing. Do you mean if there was a woman you had feelings for, that you wouldn't wish to know her on that level?"

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro's eyes flash with anger. "You'll never learn. You don't love him. Your infatuated. What a lovely poison it must be to drink." Pietro shifts his shoulder away from Wanda's hand. When she asks him about how he would feel if a woman he had feelings for, he shakes his head. "No. Because in case you missed it, every woman I've ever known has either betrayed me, tried to kill me, or left me for another. So no, I don't want to know someone on that level. The only advantage that would give me is that I'd know exactly where they intended to cut me to rip out whatever part of me was left."

He starts to walk away from her. "'loving' a walking healing factor doesn't mean you'll never be hurt so bad, you feel like you'll die." Pietro then zooms off, not wanting to say another word.

He's way too angry.

Well, she could probably find him in Romania or something.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda watches Pietro speed away. She sighs, shaking her head and moving to retake her chair. The drink is picked up and she brings it up to her forehead, letting the coolness of it soak in there. "Nothing will ever be easy, will it," she asks herself.

She brings the drink down to consume the contents in a few swallows one after the other. She should probably go find Janet and her bottle of rum. Wanda rises and walks out as well.
