Synopsis: The Children's Charity gala for the Pediatrics units of several New York hospitals goes swimmingly. Atlantean Royalty makes an unexpected appearance. New introductions are made. The Bat-Tots are not webbed to the wall. Success!
Cast of Characters: Elixir, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Polaris, Superman, Carrie Kelley, David Xanatos, Huntress, Scarlet Witch, Nightingale, Ghost Spider, Aquawoman, Robin (Wayne), Red Robin

Elixir has posed:
Gotham Hall in New York has been the site of any number of exclusive events over the years. It has a high, domed gold ceiling, stone walls with intricate mouldings, a massive chandelier and decorate glass windows set him. The wood floor is intricately patterned and polished. Tonight the hall is bathed in purple light and there are candles along the wide the ledges on the walls behind the bars set up on either side of the room, in addition to the wrought iron light fixtures that look like lanterns. There are some tables in the center of the room with chairs for those who want to sit. At the far end from the entrance to the hall a small stage is set up for the inevitable speeches from representatives of the hospitals and foundations. In a startlingly delightful innovation, these were scheduled early enough, save for a single thank you speech from one of the hospital executives, that a number of people who arrive a bit later by habit or accident miss the tedium.

Guests are met by the news media and valets, then event staff escort them to be welcomed, signed in and let loose on the guests. There is a small legion of servers to meet everyone's needs. Any number of celebrities, businessmen, diplomats and others are present. A children's charity is as good an excuse as any for a night out.

Josh is dressed in a tux and stands talking with the heads of Pediatrics from the four hospitals involved, along with some of the night's big donors. Gold skinned and half the age of the others in his little knot of people, he looks out of place. His hair has yet again failed to cooperate and he looks like the champagne is a total novelty. Which it is.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana has arrived via town car from the Themyscira Consulate in Metropolis, where she had been the whole past week over-seeing renovations on the Themyscira Home where many important artifacts of her people are kept and stored, like a mini-museum of sorts. It was to be opened to the public soon, for scheduled tours and a chance to get to know a bit more about the mysterious people of 'paradise island'.

As for tonight, Diana is wearing a red dress, sleevvless that shows off a wealth of her back down to the small of it. White gloves adorn her hands and rise up to her elbows. Her dark hair is tied back into an intricate bun on the crown of her head and her lips are painted a deep crimson hue to match the shade of her dress. She wears diamond ear-rings and a simple necklace around her exposed neck.

She's a tall woman, at over 6'0" with her heels on, and stands out in most crowds and she makes her way into the gala event, her blue eyes scanning around as she greets and speaks with those who approach her, wearing a bright smile upon her sculpted featured face.

Captain America has posed:
Of the many things on Steve Rogers' to-do list this week, the charity gala is one of improved appreciation on his part. It's far less harrowing than other activities he could be up to and supplies a necessary break to at least consider normal conversation with fellow good-natured beings. Well, 'normal'.

Having arrived post-speeches, the Captain is dressed to blend in as best he can manage. His tuxedo, classic with a single button, is a deep navy-blue. Peak lapels and satin besom pockets are a lighter, shinier indigo-blue to match his bowtie. The pristine white shirt beneath offers visual parity to the suit as a whole. His hair is tamed and he wears a polite expression on his face with long-practiced ease. Hopefully no one tries to grope him this evening; broken wrists are such a downer.

He's currently in conversation with one of the head pediatricians and smiling to himself as he listens to her tell him of the advancements made against childhood asthma, a personal point of interest for him. It's impossible to miss the brighter fashion of the evening and Diana is no exception. If he catches her eye, Diana will find a glass of champagne lifted to her along with a single side-dimple flashed in greeting. Steve can't find it in his heart to detach from this conversation just yet.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna was vaguely nervous at being out and about in NYC for any reason, particularly after she'd been attacked less than a week ago for just walking to the library. Still, Wanda was going, as was Josh and it would be better for Genosha's all around image for her to attend. After all, her father might be ruining any chance she had at making alliances with others, but she could still try.

Flying Fortress M be damned.

The cameras out front were not magnetized to frying, despite her initial desire to do so, and as she swept inside and lingered around those she knew, her sister and Josh being all of that list. She cautiously sipped at champagne and glanced around with a wary eye. Still, as no one outright shouted obscenities at the Genoshan royal, she slowly relaxed. A roll of her shoulders following a soft exhale of breath.

Lorna wore a simple black dress with a smooth silhouette, a silver belt wrapped around her waist, while her skirts shifted with the whisper of silk with each movement. Her make up was simple, and her green hair tumbled freely around her shoulders in loose waves. She leaned toward Josh after a beat, "I'm going to scope out the horderves, I'll be right back. Want anything?"

Superman has posed:
Newly arrived at the scene was Clark Kent, intrepid reporter for the Daily Planet. Stepping out of his Uber, he straightens his bow tie, a real knockout, with his tux that fits like a glove. His form was very trim and muscular, barely concealed by the tuxedo. Taking a moment to adjust his glasses, Clark grabs his old style pen, old style note pad, and nods to the driver. "Thanks!"

Walking up to the entrance, Clark Kent flashes his media pass, and smiles at the very large bouncer, who waves him inside, pointing at the area reserved for media. Ignoring him, Clark maneuvers his way to the main floor, noting everyone present with a warm, reporter smile.

With so many big names arriving, Clark Kent maneuvers to the back of the area, and makes a few notes on his pad. "Let's see...Diana, Steve Rogers, Polaris..." write, write, write.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
One of the very many Wayne limosines pulls up shortly after the towncar that had delivered Diana arrives. It's certain not his most stylish limo, it's one of the smaller ones, but there's no mistaking the stylized 'W' on the side that so many of his vehicles bore. Rather than Mr Wayne or one of his many sons coming out, though? When the doors open it's a woman that carefully sweeps her legs out to ensure she doesn't flash anything inappropriate.

Carrie Kelley steps out wearing a pair of heels that add a good two inches to her height. It's something she really needed honestly given how short she really was. The ginger haired girl wears a white and silver dress that was clearly a Van Dyne original. It's about all that seems polished about her: Her general actions as she strides into the building are more of someone just a bit out of place, and awed by it.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos arrived via Limo, a tall thin blond man in wire frame glasses opening the door for him and then following a close but discreet distance from the man. Dressed in a formal tux with his black bow tie and a white shirt instead of his usual black-on-black, he expertly lifts a glass of champagne from a passing server, sipping it lightly. "See Owen," he says speaking to his manservent without looking at him, "A good cause and people will flock to support it." The blond man makes a non comittal hum of agreement as they begin to mingle.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli was a teacher by profession, so good things being done in the interests of children and making their lives better was close to her heart, and something she wasn't afraid to open her figurative wallet a bit farther for. Even if it wasn't quite as much as some of the other high society sorts present, it was still going to good worthy cause as far as she was concerned. And hopefully, with this not being Gotham, she won't get quite so many dirty looks from people just upon hearing her name. That was always a quick way to bring the mood of a good socializing down.

As luck would have it she pulled up in her own sports car (amusingly also an Aventador abiet in a stunning custom purple paint job) not far back from the Wayne Limo. Which gets a curious look for a moment from her, particularly when it's not Wayne himself exiting. Interesting. But there will be time to figure out what's going on with that in the party itself. Gracefully she exits her vehicle, and passes off the keys to a valet, as well as an appropriate tip to make sure it's appropriately taken care of. Followed by taking a moment to adjust her violet and grey party dress from sitting down to drive, and then heading inside as well.

Wonder Woman has posed:
As Diana makes her way further into the event hall herself, she thinks back to her last gala in Gotham... it had been some time. There'd been much explosions that night, no few attacks, some people had gotten hurt... all of them the people who dared attack a party she was attending. All the same, this night would be different, her eyes wander the faces and she spies a few familiar ones already. Steve gets a responsive nod, a big smile and a upraised wave from her right hand. When Diana spots Clark, being Clark, her smile turns into a grin and she makes sure to pass by him, brushing shoulders with him. "Busy as ever, I see?" She says as she keeps walking, teasing him a bit as she moves to where the tall glasses of champagne are...

Elixir has posed:
Josh chuckles at what is most likely an inside comment about a doctor he has not met and looks vaguely relieved when Lorna mentions going to get some food.

"Yeah, want you to take me with you," Josh says to Lorna quietly. He gestures vaguely to the tables to the doctors, who smile, and he escapes with Lorna. "Thank you, princess. These parties are /lame/. Free drinks are cool though. You have to do this all the time?"

The city's chief counsel, Maurice Everett, spots Diana and grins to himself. He excuses himself from his conversation and glides across the floor to fall in beside her. He may or may not have left a trail of slime on the floor behind him. He grins, full of the arrogance of a (self) important man. "It is so good that you're here tonight. You almost missed out on a chance to spend the evening with me. But, since I came solo, you're in luck," he says, half-joking, and offers his arm to Diana.

A couple of sharp eyed and truly beautiful ladies talking together have spotted Steve without Janet. One could be forgiven for having a flashback to a National Geographic show about lionesses as they looking in his direction and smile.

"Clark Kent," say Elaina White, correspondent for the New York Times as she comes up beside the super reporter. Pretty, ambitious, fanatic long distance runner and biting opinion writer, she is well known to Clark. "This isn't the press box you know," she points out with a wink. "Got a hot lead tonight? Or just looking for a hot date?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed the doctors at the table a smile, and wiggled her fingers in departure as she led Josh away and toward the table with the full spread of various decorative food stuffs. And floral arrangements, more than enough to open a new flower shop, or so Lorna mused. She exhaled soft breath, and glanced Josh a grin over her champagne as she led him away. "Well on Genosha, yeah.. A few. Mostly though, it's only attended by my father's uh.. more loyal followers and the Council members... maybe a handful of others.." She grimaced.

"There's not much I can do there to mess up things there. Here? I feel like if I can mess up a thousand different ways." She reached for a little bacon wrapped scallop, dropping it onto a plate, and picking at a few impressively carved pieces of cheese and melon. Her gaze swept over the room and she exhaled a breath. "I should thank Steve .. but looks like he's about to be swarmed."

Superman has posed:
Clark sees Diana coming, and takes that time to straighten his bow tie with his right hand, pokes himself with his pen, frowns, pushes his glasses back up on his nose, and through all that, allows himself the moment to smile at Diana. This smile was no mere regular smile, but a full, warm, beaming smile.

As Diana "brushes" by him, Clark laughs, and says, "Of course Diana. You know me, as busy as always. Thank you for noticing. I hope you enjoy the night!" Clark then takes a few extra seconds to watch as Diana wanders towards the champagne...a very polite few seconds!"

Pushing his eyes back down to his pad, Clark scribbles a few notes, and returns his gaze to the party. Until he starts at the new person strolling up beside him as though he was surprised she was there. "Elaina White." Clearing his throat, Clark adds, "It isn't the penalty box either." A pause. "I always have a hot lead. You know me." His cool smile is followed by his clearing his throat again. "A date? I see several people that might take you up on that offer."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff had let her teammates, friends and family know she would be running slightly late tonight. But not as late as she'd worried. After pausing reluctantly for a few photographs outside, she had made her way inside. Wanda is wearing a silver dress slashed with crimson from a certain teammate's fashion house. The dress' cut that manages to be at once elegant and flattering caused a stir of flashbulbs on her walk up to the building.

Wanda doesn't pause long to look around the interior, her eyes going right to where Josh and Lorna are talking as if she'd expected them in that spot. She crosses the room, giving a few charming smiles to people who stop to greet her, and returning greetings before moving on.

Wanda's sister is the first to be greeted. "You made it Lorna. I'm so glad," Wanda says warmly. "I love your dress. The belt really makes it," she comments. Then Wanda moves to Josh to give him a quick hug of greeting before he can get too engrossed in the refreshment table. "Apologies for being late," she tells them. "Have any of the other Avengers made it yet?" she asks, having missed Steve on her way in apparently.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos looks around casually and sips his champagne as he watched the people mingle and talk. A slight smirk comes to his lips and he sets his now empty flute on the tray of another passing waiter with barely a glance as he walks in Diana's general direction. Instead of speaking to the woman however he addresses her...companion. "Maurice! How good to see you." He says with an affable smile. "You Remember my assistant Owen Burnett? Owen this is Maurice Everett, Chief counsel for New York City."

Without missing a beat Owen nods, "Of course. A pleasure to meet you. In fact if I may have a moment of your time, I need to discuss some matter of a petition against Filing 87402-A. Some fool disputing Castle Wyvern's safety.."

Nightingale has posed:
The hustle and bustle of a major event like the gala was nothing Shannon was quite prepared for. When Josh had mentioned the event to her earlier in the day, she was both tickled pink to be included, and nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. But too, she had been the same when she shadowed him at Salem Center hospital and that had turned out well enough. Debating the wisdom of the image inducer, she actually leaves it at home, allowing her wings to be visible. She does, however, keep them folded tightly behind her, minimizing their visual impact with any luck. She keeps well away from anything in a glass that isn't water, doing her best to at least keep Josh in sight, if not stay fairly close for the time being.

Wonder Woman has posed:
When Maurice approaches her, Diana is raising up one of the champagne glasses and turning around with it, she was about to take a sip but she spies the man making his way toward her and when he speaks that... wonderful line to her, she responds to it by simply smiling at him, and gently... lowering her chin down to try to make her a little shorter, because he's shorter than she is.

"Awww, that is so sweet of you to say." Diana says to him in her heavily accented English. But after a second of letting that linger, she straightens her posture again to her full height and gently tilts her head to her right shoulder. "Who are you again?" She then asks in a voice that is as kind and pleasant as a warm summer afternoon.

Then she sips from her drink.

When David appears, Diana's blue eyed gaze falls onto him as he takes Maurice's attention away from her, which gets a soft smile from her to David Xanatos, a silent thank you.

Captain America has posed:
Indeed, no Janet on his arm. Other things must be occupying the world-reknowned fashionista and petite spit-fire. Steve seems no worse for wear by it, like as not used to handling public occassions on his own for many, many years.

He makes an excuse for himself in needing to greet other arriving members of the metahuman world and he's indeed politely excused in turn, though not after being extracted of a promise to visit the children's ward when he has time -- of course, the Captain agrees to this. If he notes the wandering eyes of fellow attendees, he doesn't overtly acknowledge it on his travels towards the buffet bar. The super-serum does need calories to keep content. Recognizing the princess of Genosha and fellow recent resident of the Mansion, Steve allows himself a small smile.

"And miss Maximoff too, now it's a party," he jokes as he appears on the far side of the buffet table. "The spread's a good one. Definitely been to galas where they skimped in favor of the booze." His plate is steadily filled with tidbits without any shame at all.

Ghost Spider has posed:
The things people do for money.

Like accept what amounts to a modeling gig to attend a charity function in Manhattan where her job is to look pretty, make small talk, and if anyone asks tell them where she got her dress.

This isn't the first time Gwen has done this role, and it won't be the last. It really helps pay for rent, also clandestine research and engineering projects.

Her dress is fantastic (https://bit.ly/31Mimsv) a wonderful black and white floral pattern that would fit on a red carpet, or a gala. The downside of tonight was having to bleach then dye her hair back to some semblance of model worthy which meant she lost the bright pink dip dye she has been rocking for her band appearances.

She makes it past the door and into the party with a practiced grace and pauses to look around, just a moment. Wow star studded. No spider-sense tingles yet, and with that she is sweeping into the room proper, managing to deftly relieve a waiter of a glass of champagne.

Elixir has posed:
David Xanatos is swarmed in short order by a number of people from the charitable foundations supporting tonight's event. No opportunity to make a pitch for financial support from the wealthy elite would be passed up. They are charming, passionate, earnest and quite possibly related to piranhas.

A younger blond man in a tux with a nice British accent accidently bumps into Helena. "Excuse me," he says with a smile. "Didn't see you there. Don't think we've met, Tom Branson," he introduces himself. Yes, that Branson family.

Josh loses most awareness of the refreshment table when Wanda walks in. He gets that big grin instead. "You look /amazing/," he whispers to Wanda when they hug. Josh gestures to Shannon to come actually join them.

"Who, we.... Hello, Owen," Maurice says with a smile that could just about kill as Diana slips away from him.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Amid all the face here, there was really only one that was familiar enough to Carrie to consider going to greet. One who was also very rather busy herself it seemed. The redhead none the less inches closer to the grouping around Lorna until she can lift a hand away from one fo the flutes of champagne that she'd snitched to waggle her fingers. "Hi Lorna. You look great tonight," she offers the other with a little nod. A glance skirts to Josh, then Wanda, and any others around them. "Sorry to interrupt, I just wanted to say hi."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles shyly to Carrie, dipping her head by way of greeting. "Hello." Her voice is nearly lost among the hubbub of the room, and she, too, glances around in hopes of spotting anybody else even remotely familiar. Something told her this was going to be a very interesting evening, for certain.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli doesn't really know anyone here. At least not personally. There's some idle high society chatter in passing, but she doesn't find any real conversations to strike up as she makes her way to the buffet. Though it was nice to not be reconized and potentially hated simply because of who she happens to be related to, so she will take it and just enjoying having an evening that should be relaxing. She picks a few hors d'oeuvre and mostly just drifts in the crowd. At the general group greeting put out by Carrie she smiles and nods. "Well then, hello to you as well."

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos smiles at Diana as he watches Owen rather expertly separate the bureaucrat from the pair of them with out a backward glance. Well without one from Owen, Maurice likely would offer a few. "Owen is a God send," He says with a bit of a smile for the brunette woman. "If I had any clue how much I paid him, I'd probably have to give him a raise." he then offers his had and says with a smile, "David Xanatos, it is a distinct honor to meet you in person." His smile easy and casual.

Superman has posed:
Clark Kent takes the time to make more notes as more and more people arrive. "Lois will appreciate this..." Clark jots down a few comments on Gwen's dress, and how it was exceptional. Next was, who was all present, from Xanatos, to Foley, Stever Rogers, striking a patriotic cut, and Diana, of course, as she always looks stunning.

Clark regards Shannon with narrow eyes, but just lets it go with a smile. Did he see through her disguise? Lorna and Wanda, as they speak to each other. He takes a few extra seconds to keep an eye on Carrie Kelley, not that he would report back to a certain billionaire...and Helena as well. She was here. Grabbing a drink, Clark sits back, and watches everyone arrive for a great cause.

Wonder Woman has posed:
After enjoying a sip of her drink, Diana's eyes roamed a bit before she turned toward David upon hearing Maurice get pulled away by David's associate. She extends her right hand, shifting her drink to her left, and accepts the offered greeting from Xanatos. "If he were truly sent by the God's, then he should not need to be paid." She responds back, and shows a light grin before she shakes his hand and then retracts her own, her touch warm and soft as silk which is surprising considering she's a 'Warrior princess' and all. "I am glad you have good employees though, Mister Xanataos. Thank him for me, when you can, as well." Her drink is raised then for another light sip.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed Wanda a large, warm smile as her sister arrived. "Oh thank goodness, I was worried that you'd ditched and went somewhere more fun." She teased, and as Wanda moved onto greeting her boyfriend and Josh made all the right compliments a boyfriend should, she made a dramatic face and gagging noise. "As the younger sister, it's my responsibility to tease both of you. But yeah, you both look nice. Everyone looks //nice//." SHe continued, sipping at her champagne. Then suddenly, there was quite the gaggle of people approaching, from Steve Rogers, to a few other younger ladies.

"Well, I was just saying, I should get a chance to thank you, Steve. My father told me you're responsible for saving his life all those years ago.. So in a way, you're responsible for Wanda and I being alive. So. Thanks." She flashed Captain America a smile, and glanced at Shannon and Carrie in turn, her eyebrows raised.

"Shannon, I know you're not old enough to drink..." At the greeting from Carrie, she smiled, though she eyed the champagne briefly and continued to sip her own. "Thank you."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley looks around the group of rather big names. There were several she didn't know, and more yet she did through her own research, studies, and perhaps a bit of fangirlishness. When Lorna speaks of Shannon and her drinking she snaps her eyes right back to the older woman with a sheepish smile of her own. "I wasn't planning on drinking it. I just felt like I ought to do something with my hands," she explains a little quietly.

The greeting of Helena as well earns a smile. "Nice to meet you too," she offers, before looking around again with a burgeoning smile. "I feel like I ought to be getting autographs, but that'd be pretty lame, huh?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon tilts her head towards Lorna and smiles. "I know, but honestly even if that weren't the case, I'd probably prefer not to." She glances around the room once more, catching a glimpse of the narrowed, steely look from Clark. She wasn't quite sure who that was but keeps civility at the forefront, offering a shy smile. Perhaps they might have a chance to meet a bit later. For now, it was mostly observe and listen, and try to figure out just who was who.

David Xanatos has posed:
Something very close to pure laughter radiates in Xanatos' eyes, though his lips only curve into a wry smirk. "Perhaps not, but then from what I remember from mythology classes, most of the gods weren't overly nice to those in their employ. I do try to be a little better then that to my own people. I will however pass on your gratitude." He glances at the other man, "I honestly swear that he enjoys doing that sort of thing. I wonder where Mrs. Everett is?" he adds shaking his head.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda is more relaxed than she normally is at events like this, and she stays close at the golden-skinned mutant's side as if perhaps that is part of the reason. Wanda laughs and jokes with Lorna, "But where could be more fun than here?" She gives Shannon a friendly smile. "Hello," she says in greeting, and then looks over to include Carrie as well. "Not interrupting at all," Wanda assures Carrie.

Wanda turns to smile warmly to Steve. "It's just a slightly larger party is all," Wanda assures Steve. She looks around and says, "It is quite a lovely party. So many friendly faces," Wanda says, spotting Diana Prince. When their eyes meet, Wanda gives the Amazonian princess a friendly finger wave.

About then, A-list actor Colby Ward and his date and most recent costar, Priscilla Cunningham, emerge from a swirl of the crowd. The handsome actor who often gets likened to a young Brad Pitt spots Wanda and he stops dead. Wanda fastens a very intentional smile on him. "Hello, Mr. Ward," she tells him.

Colby drops Priscilla's hand to rub at his fingers "Miss Maximoff," he says and then grabs the actress' hand again to quickly lead her elsewhere into the charity event, with a single backward glance and leaving Wanda with a satisfied smile. "Good to see certain reminders are still in effect," she comments softly enough only those nearest to her can hear.

Aquawoman has posed:
A figure rarely seen at public events seems to simply appear at the entrance. A statuesque woman stands in an iridescent, pale aqua evening gown. A golden tiara graces her brow, encircling an elegant updo of fiery red hair, completed by a small spray of iridescent white floral and mother of pearl comb on one side. The dress is sleek and straight to her ankles and with a slit up one side, and a pool of the scaled fabric behind her feet.

She looks over the crowd as if seeking someone in particular, carrying a clutch of gold and more inlaid mother of pearl. Flanked by two Atlantean guards, she wades gracefully into the throng.

Ghost Spider has posed:
The champagne is sipped and she responds to a compliment on her dress from a random attendee with a smile and a gracious thank you, noting the fifth avenue boutique that it she got it from. A bit more small talk about how it can be so hard to find the right outfit for an event like this.

Yeah she is an old pro at the glad handing of rich people and being engaging and social like that. That doesn't mean she isn't relieved when the woman moves on and she can take another sip of her champagne and just smile looking around. May as well take advantage of the attendance to make some connections and meet some truly famous people, unlike herself.

The star of the hour as it were seems pretty wrapped up over there with a gaggle of metahumans and others, no surprise. She steps over towards the food and people, still planning her attacks, the social kind really. There is an aside ot Carrie. "Right?" pause "Sorry for intruding but this is definitely a packed event, and I am pretty sure it would be considered shocking for most of these society folk." a friendly smile.

Captain America has posed:
Steve glances up from placing his third prosciutto roll upon his plate when he's addressed by Lorna. A smile shows on his face and there, those dimples yet again. Setting the plate aside, he then nods to her, delaying the motion at its lowest point in respect to the princess.

"You're...welcome." The second word is delayed as he realizes that Lorna included Wanda as a daughter of Magneto. A few things click into place and he blinks in transparent surprise before he grins once more. "Glad to have done it." This, the Captain means sincerely. The arrival of the winged young woman has his eyebrows flicking up.

"Long time, no see," he says to Shannon in particular, having recognized the young woman from their brief meeting at the music store up north. He's definitely swapped the motorcycle jacket for the suit-jacket in navy-blue. "Found the sheet music I was looking for. Any luck on your end?" Half of his champagne disappears in one fell swoop -- not like it'd affect him anyways.

Superman has posed:
Clark smiles at Shannon, and gives her a subtle wink. Turning his attention away from her, his eyes move on the rest of the party, keeping his distance, and forgetting Ms. White by now. That was when Mera arrives. With a chuckle, Clark Kent makes a note on his pad, and remembers a talk he just recently had with Arthur about the world above. "Only two guards..."

Taking a glass of champagne, Clark takes a sip, and smiles in appreciation. "Not bad..." Makes a note on his pad. "Great service and the drinks were excellent..." A look at the crowd. "...the crowd was fun, and had a great time. A well run event by the host..."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Of course, the Wayne Foundation couldn't just send a lovely young lady to represent them at a charity function. They had to send a Wayne.

A black limo opened and out stepped the youngest member of the Wayne Family of Gotham City: Damian Wayne. The diminutive young man was dressed in a custom tailored Tom Ford tuxedo.

His first few minutes were spent shaking hands, getting pictures taken with event organizers and such.

Wonder Woman has posed:
David gets a light laugh from Diana for his memory of how things go with the Gods and employment. "It is a complicated subject, I will yield to that." She replies to him before she spots Wanda's finger wave and she responds to that with one of her own right back at the Scarlet Witch! There appear to be a number of Avengers here tonight... So for a moment, Diana's eyes scan the room for that tall one with the hammer, but... he's no where to be seen alas, she hadn't spoken to him even once since his engagement had apparently been broken off. So for now, Diana starts to walk the floor a bit, letting her eyes move face to face.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed Steve a smile, seemingly relieved that Captain America at least didn't have regrets regarding her father still being alive--and by extension her and Wanda existing. Her green eyed gaze swung back to her sister briefly, but skipped over to the entrance as Mera arrived with two guards in tow. The green haired princess swallowed a lump that formed in the back of her throat and she cursed softly under her breath.

"Right, well, Wanda. I'm going to the ladies room. Uh.. considering how bad tensions are with Atlantis at the moment.. I'm going to take the long way about. If you don't see me.. I swear I'm not dead." Her voice had dropped low enough that she hoped only Wanda heard her, as she leaned in toward her sister's shoulder. She cast a tense glance about and made her polite excuses as she swept away from the small gathering by the food table.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles, almost sighing in relief as she hears Steve. Finally, someone else she knew! "I know, it's been a little bit. Found a couple recordings online of those two songs you wanted... wha...? So I've been transcribing those for nothing?" She laughs a little bit and shrugs, her wings ruffling slightly in an echo of the gesture. "At least it keeps the skills sharp." There's something a little bit different in her eyes, a little bit harder and a touch less innocent than the last he saw her. "How have you been?"

Huntress has posed:
There's a soft mmhmm from Helena. "Most of the present could charge top dollar for a signature if they wanted to," she replies to Carrie. She's about to ask about her exiting that limo alone but then Gwen walks up. Helena nods, looking the young lady over for a moment, and nodding again. "That's a lovely dress. Looks real good on you, miss."

And then there's the flurry of activity around Damian's arrival. Maybe Carrie didn't come so alone after all...

Elixir has posed:
Josh frowns when he sees Colby Ward arrives, but relaxes and mostly suppresses a smile when he sees the reaction to Wanda. "Jackass," Josh mutters.

"Holy crap, isn't that the Atlantis queen lady?" Josh asks, looking curiously in the direction of the arrived royal. "Does everyone come to these things? That's crazy."

He greets the other arrivals and then excuses himself as the head of medical services at Bellevue pulls him away to meet some of their other prospective donors.

"Help me," Josh mouths quietly back to the group with an exaggeratedly alarmed look.

"Geez, and Diana Prince," Josh notes with a shake of his head.

"You get used to it, they're good people and draw the donors. It's not a big event if you don't get some of them to show up. Besides, you should be used to it by now, you're with Wanda Maximoff aren't you?" Dr. van Buren notes. Josh spends some time shaking hands with donors and glowing a little for them, then starts back across the floor, stopping to shake hands, answer questions and yes, get requests for him to look at friends and family.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos can see that Diana's attention is moving else where, so he offers her his smile again and says simply, "Well I should probably go talk to some of the vultures who want to pick my pocket. It was a pleasure again to meet you." He says with that same pleasant smile and lets her move away. A Glance to Own letting the other man know that he can release MAurice once Diana is safely engaged somewhere else. He then moves away towards the buffet table.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley has to nod in agreement with both Gwen and Helena. "That's true. Still it's a great opportunity to be able to at least see so many faces together at the same time. And for a good cause as well." When another waiter comes by she redeposits her full champagne glass on the tray to free her hands again. They only fall to her side fidgeting ever so slightly over the silvered edge of the dress she wore.

The commotion toward the front draws her gaze along with a wince. "Aand there's my student. I should probably go help him out of that throng of reporters." A quick look around is given along with an apologetic smile. "Pardon me."

With that she slips into the crowd moving with a rather agile grace given she was wearing two inch-heels. Being a 'nobody' it made it easy for her to avoid most of the crowd at least as she makes her way over toward Damian's side. "Damian! I think they want you over here now," she gestures with her chin in a direction further in away from the reporters.

Ghost Spider has posed:
"Thank you, it's from a boutique over on fifth.." she drops the name, because that is why she is here. Well and socializing so no one has a bad party. She looks around at the arrivals noting where Helena is looking. "Top dollar but most of them are too busy saving the world or being rich to want to do autographs. Lately I've been wondering if the capes somehow manage to get licensing and merchandising deals to help pay for things while they are off saving us all."

"Isn't that Damian Wayne... well I suppose this is Gotham Hall after all." amusing herself if no one else.. she swaps her empty glass for a full glass when the waiter comes by, giving Carrie a look. "Your student?" then she looks to Helena questioning as Carrie moves away. "Must work for him." she muses.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda gives her sister a quick nod of understanding. "Perhaps for the best," she agrees of Lorna's quiet departure. Wanda watches her go before turning back to Steve. The man's transparency helps Wanda catch his surprise. "You did not know?" she asks him curiously in her softly accented English. "Oh Steve, we shall have to sit down and talk history sometime," she offers with a friendly smile.

The arrival of Gwen Stacy at Carrie's side draws attention over. "Good evening," the auburn-haired woman offers. "I'm Wanda. How are you enjoy the event tonight?" she asks of Gwen and Carrie both before Carrie is moving off towards the door.

Wanda glances over to Clark Kent as he seems to be jotting the happenings. "And a very worthy set of charities as well," Wanda comments to him in case he didn't have that in his notes before she started overhearing him.

Captain America has posed:
"No, no, I found the sheet music I was looking for originally -- didn't take your work from you," the Captain reassures the winged young woman with a shake of his head. "'m glad you found 'em. It's been situation normal for me." His smile almost totally reaches his eyes. Almost.

S.N.A.F.U.

But that's not proper language in front of polite company, much less at a gala.

He glances over at Wanda and nods, a distant light taking him briefly decades and thousands of smiles back for a split second. "Sure, you lemme know. We'll talk over coffee," he replies as he takes up his plate. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to find a place to eat where I can chew without needing to worry about talking about the food." By the patient tone put forth, Steve knows this will be a minor challenge, but when did he ever bow out of a challenge?

As such, with what might be surprising ease, he manages to disappear into the crowd's fringes and then to a side balcony, all the better to refuel the serum in peace.

Superman has posed:
Clark looks up as Wanda makes that comment, and smiles at her. "Of course. A very worthy set of charities." Clark makes another note, and then adjusts his glasses back up on his nose, noting all of the new arrivals, including Damian and others. "This is getting to be quite the large group. I think I have enough for my article."

Clark puts his empty glass down on the table, and somehow maneuvers his way around the crowd carefully. With a final wink at Diana, Clark follows Steve Rogers out of the area with a nod to all those he has met tonight. It was easy for Clark to find his way out, since there was no blue or red flowing in the breeze to pull the eye. Just his "cracker" bow tie.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli politely steps aside from Carrie as she excuses herself, and watches her with some interest. Particularly at the choice of words. Student of -what- would be the question, but not out in public. "I'm a Gotham native myself," she asides to Gwen. "Eventually you just sort of accept the Wayne excentricities and don't give it much thought." At least Bruce has his various charges looking out for each other, it seems.

She makes a mental note of the address. "Maybe I will take a look for myself sometime when I'm visiting Manhattan."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian's slight smile towards the paparazzi doesn't waved as Carrie comes and ushers him over to the party proper. "Kelley, your timing was impeccable. I was not going to answer another asinine question about who I'm going to date." He comments to her quietly as they move more inward in the party. Though the facade of Damian Wayne never wavers. He was here on Foundation business, so Best outward face and all.

David Xanatos has posed:
IT takes less then a minute for those vultures to redecend on DAvid, and just a little more then two for the ever diligent Owen to be back at the man's side. Quickly, names and numbers are taken down by the man, appointments are made. Xanatos does personally write a check for the pediatrics Unit that has a godly number of zeros following a 1. afterward, he begins to quietly slip away.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake shows up not long after his "little brother" it seems, but Tim is being a bit more flashy. He shows up in 1966 Shelby Cobra, in a shining silver. He pulls up to the valet and as he steps out of the car he tosses the keys to the man and says "Try to keep her under 120." He jokes. Tim is in a black tux, but instead of his normal red highlights, tonight it is silver. He will offer the press smiles and waves. He will look over and as smiles as he seems to be looking for someone. He will spot Damian, and Carrie with the others and will look to the press pardon me." He starts to head towards those he has spotted.

Nightingale has posed:
Well, there went one of the few people Shannon knew well enough to feel even semi-comfortable around. Things just got a whole lot more awkward. The only thing to do was to put a smile on her face, and edge her way over to the buffet table, opting for a few small bits of cheese and fruit to nibble on. It was quite something, absorbing all the chatter and the atmosphere of the event. She looks around to see who is closest to the table; after all, a stranger was a friend one just hasn't met yet, right?

Elixir has posed:
Josh works his way back to Wanda's side. "This stuff is exhausting," Josh says with a grin. He greets the people in the little group he has not met yet, like Helena.

A few minutes later a man in his fifties at the podium calls for everyone's attention. The executive director of Children's Hospital of New York thanks everyone for attending. He talks about how adding mutant healing to Pediatrics has opened the door to blah blah blah thank you to blah blah blah generous donations blah blah so honoured blah blah blah corporate blah blah and thank you all so much for coming. There is a bit of polite clapping and people go gratefully back to their conversations.

Ghost Spider has posed:
There is another nod to Helena "Definitely recommend it." about the boutique shopping experience. That's right Gwen earn your paycheck. There is a smile and nod "I imagine that dynastic families like the Waynes all have their excentricities yes. The current scion and all the adoptions for instance... but that probably makes an amount of sense." just pleasant small talk right.

When Wanda says hello Gwen is a little surprised, but doesn't let it show unless you have a very sharp eye. Still no spider-sense so all is well.

"My name is Gwendolyn, though please call me Gwen." nodding to Wanda. "The event seems wonderful, so many people out supporting a very good cause. The bubbly is also quite nice, and so far nothing to complain about." which is not one hundred percent true. "How are things with the Avengers Ms. Maximoff?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"You did look as if you were about to burst a vein there," Carrie admits quietly aside to Damian as she walks beside him just a bit taller than usual thanks to her heels. It was odd being that much taller for once. "If they keep that up just smile enigmatically and say that you hope to meet someone soon, but for now you're focusing on your studies," she suggests. "They love gossip but being a gentleman is just as good. I hear the hors d'ouvers are good tonight. Haven't tried any myself." It's small talk, but just an update on what's going on, really. At least up until she sees another familiar face.

"Oh. Oh, yeah, I haven't had time to tell you about this yet, Damian, but..." Would she have time? Oh dear.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda smiles to Gwen as the blond woman responds to her. "Very nice to meet you Gwen," Wanda Maximoff offers. She nods her had slowly as she looks around with an appreciative air. "I have never felt very comfortable at such events. But they keep holding them for causes I care about," she comments.

As Josh returns to rejoin them, Wanda smiles to him and slips an arm about his waist. "Have you met Josh? Josh this is Gwen," Wanda says, introducing Gwen Stacy. "And I'm afraid I haven't gotten your name yet," Wanda says to Helena. The Scarlet Witch's green eyes sweep over Helena's attire and she says, "I adore your dress. That violet is so beautiful. I'm far from the fashion aficionado that Janet van Dyne is, but I am going to have to ask her if she has anything at her fashion house in that color," Wanda tells Helena.

She looks back to Josh, smiling to him as he is mentioned in the speech, if not by name. She doesn't say anything, but Josh won't even need to see her expression to know the pride she's feeling for him.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles with pride, glad that her mentor and friend was mentioned in the speech. She claps politely along with everyone else, but her smile is a bit wider now. It felt good to have played a small part in the whole thing. She slips into the crowd, wending her way through the room and doing her best to not either bump into someone, or accidentally thwap them with her wings. As crowded as the event is, that could prove a bit of a task in of itself.

Aquawoman has posed:
Mera recognizes the description she has been given of Josh Foley. (It isn't hard, how many gold men could there be at a single gala?) She makes her way toward him and his group, practically gliding, as the two Atlantean guards have moved back to walk side by side behind her, rather than at her sides. This makes it easier for them to gawk at those in attendance without being seen by Mera. As she pauses, close to those in attendance with Josh, she turns to them. "Go. Have a glass of champagne. Something to eat. I feel I'm fairly safe within this fold." She smiles patiently as the two, a young man and a young woman, hesitantly relax and move away from her. But they find servers who provide them with their amenities nearby, and hover in the Princess' proximity.

Turning again to the group before her, Mera smiles, awaiting an opening. "Mr. Foley, it is, indeed, a pleasure to meet you. The rumours abound, and yet I have yet, until this moment, been deprived of the opportunity to make your acquaintance. I am Princess Mera, of Xebel."

The young male guard nearby nearly chokes, looking at his companion. "We should have been the one introducing her!" he whispers with panic in his face, and his voice.

Ghost Spider has posed:
The smile from Gwen to Wanda gets a bit brighter and more authentic. "I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but it really never does get easier." a slow shrug as she looks around and takes another sip of her champagne. "Everyone here is working. Maybe it is for donors, or networking, or press but everyone is on the job even if they don't realize it." a bit cynical perhaps. "I go to a lot of these things, though at least my working is pretty up front. I'm actually paid to be here tonight and be pretty." which is kind of breaking the rules telling a guest, but gosh it is the Scarlet Witch right.

When she is introduced to Josh he gets a smile and she offers her hand "The guest of honor. I can really appreciate that you are not hiding your gift from the world and you are doing everything you are to get out there and help people, especially sick kids. I mean that. Friend of mine's uncle use to say with Great Power comes Great responsibility." which is true, Uncle Ben always said that to Peter. "And you seem to be using it responsibly Mr. Foley."

Then her attention turns to Mera and well damn, Princess of Xebel, and Atlantean royalty right there. She falls quiet because she isn't about to interrupt the high paying socializing.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli smiles to both Josh and Wanda as the introductions go around the small group, as well as the young woman she was conversing with about the boutique. "Helena Bertinelli, pleasure to meet you. And thank you." Idly she brushes a few stray locks of hair off her shoulder and behind her where they belong. "I'm a teacher by profession; so a cause like this helping children get the medical aid they need is definately something I support." Then pauses a moment to listen to the speech, adding her own polite clapping to the rest. Though she was also listening to Gwen's comment, and nodding a bit. "It is definately an admirable use for such 'gifts', indeed."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon straightens quickly as she hears what sounds like someone nearly choking not too terribly far off from her. She knew better than to get anywhere near royalty, but surely it couldn't hurt to make sure at least the guard was alright? She approaches cautiously, keeping her wings folded tightly behind her. "Are you alright, sir?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian keeps himself waving and smiling to those in attendance. Though he was about to ask what Carrie was about to say before the chairman asked for everyone's attention. Damian goes ahead and does so, managing to grab a glass of sparkling cider for himself.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake walks over to Carrie takes her hand and steps closer to her, and leans in gently kissing her cheek, and says "Sorry, work kept me longer than expected my dear, but looks as if my little brother has stepped up to make sure one of the family was here on time." He will step away enough to give Carrie breathing room but is still holding her hand, their fingers intertwined, and Tim smiling like a goob.

Elixir has posed:
Josh winks at Wanda when he returns, her opinion meaning the world to him. He grins and shakes Gwen's hand. "Thanks, I'm lucky I can help, it's pretty cool seeing happy kids and parents, you know?" he says with a grin. He greets Helena as well. "Thanks, crazy night eh? I've only seen most of these people on..."

Josh's eyes go wide in surprise at the approach of the Atlantean. "Um, thank you, your highness, it's an honour to meet you, I, wow," Josh says and colours a bit. He clears his throat. "Ah, my girlfriend Wanda Maximoff," he introduces, then introduces Gwen and Helena as well. "Thank you for coming tonight, your highness, it makes a huge difference for the kids."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley turns her attention to the podium as well with a soft sigh exhaled. Now was not the time to be whispering things that needed to be spoken of. Maybe if there were time when things got busy again--But then Tim is by her side. The kiss earns a deep blush from her even as she finds her hand caught in his giving it a squeeze in turn. "It's okay. We're all here now," she points out with a sheepish grin, and a glance to Damian that was almost apologetic.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli gives a polite nod to Mera as she is introduced, "Your highness" Then smiles with just a hint of amusement to Josh. "This has attracted even royalty. I would definately say that's a successful event." She steps aside from the group for a moment, just to find a waiter and get another drink for herself.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian had been taking a drink of that sparkling cider when Tim calls Carrie 'dear' and holds her hand. Suddenly his eyes go wide and that cider in his mouth goes flying in the direction of his older brother. He runs in the direction of the nearest waste receptacle, his olive complexion going slightly green.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will step forward as he sees the spray coming and makes sure he takes the blunt of it sparing Carrie from it. He then reaches over to take a napkin from a passing waiter and starts dabbing the cider and spittle from his face, and jacket. He turns his head and looks to Carrie and says in a dead pan voice "Well that went better than expected I would say." He sighs a bit says "You want to check on him, I don't think my checking on him. voice lowered to barely above a whisper "Or dumping him in the can" voice back to normal levels "Would be appreciated right now."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff gives Gwen a friendly grin after her comment. "I didn't realize that was an occupation, but you are pulling your job off splendidly then," Wanda says to the beautiful younger woman. Wanda beams at Gwen's words to Josh. "He is quite a remarkable man," she agrees of Josh.

Wanda's attention goes back to Helena and she inquires, "Oh, an excellent profession. What is it that you teach?" she inquires. As a waiter is passing by with a tray, Wanda gives the man a little up nod to get his attention and he brings over glasses of champagne.

Wanda looks to Mera and her guards as she approaches the group. "A pleasure, your highness. Wonderful of you to make the event," Wanda says.

Aquawoman has posed:
Mera is momentarily distracted by the winged child who has approached the young man who was guarding her. The young man flushes visibly and nods quickly. "F-fine, I'm fine, I just...remembered something," he says. The young man looks very little older than Shannon, but he is well-built and graceful when he moves. I'm...Zaer," he says, offering Shannon his hand awkwardly, as if he has only ever heard of handshakes, and doesn't know quite how they work. The female guard arches a brow, her delicate features appearing amused as she tries something called an...hors d'oeuvre.

Mera smiles, greeting each of those who has been introduced to her, in turn. As she shifts, the scales of her dress shift and appear shades from blue, to green, to white, and back again, depending upon how the light strikes them. "No, it is /my/ honour to meet you, Mr. Foley. And all of you. We are all equals in our desire to see the success of these endeavours. I would, however, like to invite you, Mr. Foley, to the Poseidon Embassy sometime in the very near future. I have a few things to discuss, which are far too mundane for such a celebratory event." She smiles softly to the young golden mutant. "This is a time for revelry, and I would see it done." She makes a point not to speak of donations, as that was made in advance of the evening in the name of the Atlantean kingdom, rather than her name or Arthur's. There is nothing to be gained by speaking of money on a night meant to celebrate others.

"It looks as though you've quite a success on your hands with the night."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley just manages to twist to the side as Tim steps in front of her. Her free hand lifts to clap over her face lingering there long enough for another sigh to be released. She does peer through her fingers at the retreating figure of Damian, and again glances around quickly. "Better make up a story about that being something he was allergic to, or having come in spite of being sick," she suggests to Tim before releasing his hand with a nod. "I'll go check on him." She pauses before leaving his side, and leans in to give his now-dry cheek a pecking kiss. Then she peels away from his side to go after the sicker looking Damian.

She approaches cautiously to avoid any further... issues. A glance is cast over to the rest of the party, noting with apparent releif that most were focusing on the royal sorts that had shown up. Oh thankgoodness. When she reaches Damian she lifts a hand to reach for his back lightly. "You okay, Damian?"

Ghost Spider has posed:
"New York means a lot of odd side gigs to make due." Gwen notes to Wanda. "My day job is biochemist and on top of that I'm in a band." she sips her champagne.

At the introduction to Mera she actually gives a decent curtsy "Pleasure to meet you Princess Mera of Xebel."

Then once that is done she stares over at Damian Wayne doing a spit take on Tim Drake and some sort of drama going on there. "I wonder what that is all about.... I mean that is going to be all over the news at the speed of the internet. I can't imagine no one caught that on film or photo...."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles and dips her head in greeting, taking Zaer's hand and shaking it with a gentle grip. "Shannon Lance. Pleasure to meet you." She offers a smile to the female guard in kind; it is quickly plain to both she is unarmed, and likely no threat to Mera. "As long as you're both alright... I guess it'd be pretty easy to let an event like this rattle you." To Mera herself, she simply smiles and stays put right where she is, knowing better than to make the first move.

Elixir has posed:
Josh gives Helena a 'holy crap' look and nods in agreement. Wanda can sense Josh's feeling awe struck by the sudden appearance of famous royalty.

His attention returns to the Atlantean Princess. "To, ah, yes, of course, your Highness, I would love to come to the Embassy," Josh says and then glances around the room. "It looks like it," Josh agrees with the Princess with a smile. "This is my first one of these," he admits. "We're all pretty excited at the hospitals. We've got people bringing kids from all over the world now, and we're going to be able to work with so many more kids, y...," Josh bites off his usual rejoinder. "Should I introduce you to the executive directors of the hospitals, your highness?"

Huntress has posed:
"My primary is in English and Literature," Helena answers Wanda, "As well as Italian and Latin... But I also substitute on occasion when needed." She collects a glass of champane from the tray when the waiter walks over, giving him a nod of thanks as well. "Children are our future, and I would love very much for them to not have to be weighed down by many of the.. issues we have. But at the same time, that change has to come from them as much as be for them, does it not?" She pauses for a sip after that.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian had found a trash can, his face was flush and the remnants of his sick was wiped with a handkerchief. The boy with the crew cut definitely did not look that great. When Carrie walks up on him and places a hand on his back, he only responded with a quick. "Just had to" he quickly folds over again.

Once he has another moment to himself, he returns to a vertical base. "be him. Why?"

Aquawoman has posed:
To those who know the limitations of most Atlanteans, it might be clear that the two guards with Mera are not entirely typical. The lack the water masks so often used by Atlanteans above the surface. A gala is, after all, a fairly safe event to attend, and Mera is confident that she can protect herself, should the need arise. The honour guards in attendance appear young, and perhaps there to enjoy the experience, at Mera's discretion. Mera smiles and winks at Shannon as she teaches Zaer to shake hands. Zaer, however, seems not to realize when to let go, and goes on holding the hand of Shannon as he speaks. "Your wings are...I mean, can you fly?" he asks her.

"Ah, we've met, before the gala, Mr. Foley. At least with some of them," Mera adds in her unique and likely unfamiliar accent. "I had some...business to attend there. Rest assured I have not come to derail your night, but to congratulate you, and allow you to enjoy it as you need. Although it seems as though your winged friend has found a friend, as well." She smirks, looking over at the guards and Shannon.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff takes a sip of her champagne once the glasses have been distributed. "Indeed," Wanda agrees with Helena. "And I'm very approving of your subjects of interest. I'm afraid I had a very unorthodox education and had to come late in life to literature," Wanda comments. "I hope you're able to inspire your students to a love of it that I had to find on my own later."

Gwen's mention of a band brings a smile to Wanda's face. "Oh really? That's wonderful, do you play an instrument, or sing? We just picked up a cello a week or two ago that I've begun learning to play. Better with a classical guitar, but you wouldn't want me in a band with either," Wanda tells her.

The auburn-haired woman glances over, just observing the interaction between Shannon and the Atlanteans. She turns back to Josh. "If you'd like, I need to return to the Embassy soon for discussions," she tells him. "We can make a trip of it," she says, choosing words that leave unspoken the subject which she'd assured Arthur would be kept quiet.

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will sniff a bit at one of the napkins, and says "Ah raspberries, good catch. He looks over to the reports he who come looking for a comment and says "Oh it is all ok, my little brother is allergic to raspberries, and it seems the cider had some raspberry juice in it. Luckily it does seem he caught it in time. Nothing life threatening, but he would get all red and splotchy and have to have a shot and it is just a horrid ordeal. "The lovely and enchanting Miss Kelly is checking on him, and giving him a benadryl he should be fine shortly." He considers a joke, but aint going to take the shot at Damien. He opens the suit jecket to look inside, and says "And the donation check seems ok, so no harm no foul".

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley exhales a soft sigh at the obvious reaction from Damian which leaves her looking worried, and concerned all at once. Lifting her gaze she gestures at a waiter who she grabs a napkin off of. A nice cloth one, which she holds out to Damian even as she runs her hand up and down his back soothingly as she'd done for others in a similar predicament of losing their lunch. She shifts her position to try as best as she can to hide Damian from the sight of others in the meantime. They did have a reputation to uphold. The Waynes at least.

"All the world's a stage, and we are but actors," comes her quiet reply to Damian as she tends to him. "And you don't know the script for this one just yet."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon turns just a bit rosy in the cheeks, not wanting to give offense, but not quite sure how to extricate herself from this. She just smiles and nods, however. "Oh yes. It needs a little bit of work, though, but that'll come with time, I guess." She grins a bit sheepishly to Mera, shrugging lightly, her wings ruffling just a little bit. She's never encountered any Atlanteans before, so she is completely unaware of the lack of masks, though their voices bear what to her seems a very charming, almost musical lilt. "I'm very lucky Josh extended the invitation to this event... he's been a wonderful mentor so far."

Ghost Spider has posed:
"Yeah the band is the Mary Janes, and I'm the drummer. My girlfriend is the lead singer and backup guitarist." she is still studying the drama over yonder with the Wayne heirs.

Gotham Drama.

Best observed from a safe distance.

It doesn't seem to be escalating though so she turns her attention to watching Shannon and the guard. "Nice wings." she notes, seems sincere.

Elixir has posed:
"Oh, great, your highness," Josh replies to the Princess and seems a bit at a loss for what to say to foreign royalty. He catches her glance at Shannon though. "Her name is Shannon, she's been helping me out, she's great," Josh says to Mera. "I hope she'll be a doctor one day, but she's like, an amazing cook and baker, so maybe she'll be a famous chef or something," he says with a grin. Then looks more serious, suddenly self-conscious.

"Going together would work," Josh agrees with Wanda. "I'm really stoked to see the Embassy!"

"Oh, um, I've gotta go talk to some of the others," Josh says apologetically. He waves to one of the Pediatrics residents who is waving him over. "Um, excuse me, your Highness. It was really great to meet you."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian keeps his composure after he finishes his being sick. Hearing Tim making his cover, he quietly responds to Carrie. "I rather like raspberries..."

"First my mother comes to stay at the mansion, then this...I should have stayed in Madripoor."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff smiles to Josh and says, "Go on, we won't monopolize you." She'll watch him until he heads off before finally looking back to the others. Wanda follows Gwen's gaze towards the Wayne brothers, but only briefly before looking back to the group. "They are nice wings. Very beautiful," Wanda says towards Shannon, giving her a soft smile. "We'll have to speak more later, Shannon," the Avengers offers after hearing that she is studying under Josh.

Aquawoman has posed:
"Of course. Be well, and congratulations again," Mera says to Josh as he makes his departure. "I'll be in touch soon," she adds, and she turns to her guards, as Zaer is still holding Shannon's hand. Mera patiently leans in and whispers something in his ear that makes him redden, and he lets go. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Shannon. I am afraid I must deprive you of your present company. We have others to greet, before we return home."

The two guards suddenly seem at attention, and Zaer bows to Shannon. Then he turns and falls in alongside his fellow guard, who rolls her eyes and nudges him. "Dork..."

"I'll have none of that," Mera replies to them, and they both go silent, and follow her toward the far side of the room to visit, then ultimately, the exit, go make the trip home again.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli sips her drink. "I can only hope I make that much of an impression," she agrees with Wanda. "And I am glad you have, the time it took or the means matter not, just that you have that resource at access now," she adds with a smile. SHe gives the group in general a nod, and steps away. "It's been a pleasure. I think I am going to go check out the offerings for the auction."

Red Robin has posed:
Tim Drake will get three ciders, making a point to find out what type it is. He will walk over to Carrie, and Damien offering both a glass, and says "This one should be a bit better." He will offer both of them their glasses first. If you feel like heading home, I can drop the check off, and Carrie can make sure you get home ok."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon breathes a sigh of relief as she's rescued from the somewhat embarrassing social situation, and dips into the rather old-fashioned gesture of a curtsey. "Of course, your Highness. And please, try not to believe all the tales Josh tells about me. My baking really isn't all that good." She laughs a little bit and steps back. "An honor and a pleasure to meet you."

Glancing over to Gwen, she smiles lightly, ruffling her wings in a tiny bit of a show for her. "Thanks. And yes, I can actually fly." She grins a bit at that, heading off the question at the pass.

She's not blind to Wanda's proximity to Josh, and prays that her praise of him as a mentor has not been taken the wrong way. She nods and smiles a bit to her, looking a tiny bit nervous. "I'll explain it fully when we're home," Carrie assures Damian. Before she can offer anything else, or even drop any more clues for him, Tim has stepped over with the drinks offering them out. She takes one looking at it warily and raising it to take a light sniff. "We'll still have raspberries. Just not in public," she assures quietly with a lopsided smile. Tim's suggestion earns a nod. "That might be good. I can at least talk in the car on the way back."

They try to catch comments from people who they hope have more alcohol in them than sense. Limos arrive, cars are brought out. Some slink away in Ubers or out the back hoping not to be seen with who they are leaving with. Some of the media are out back as well. They know the game.

Gotham Hall returns to the care of its staff who are left to clean up the remains of the night. And finally the lights go out on the charity gala.
