Nothing bad happens on school trips

Synopsis:	It started as a field trip. It turned into a trip mine. BUT DID YOU DIE THOUGH?!

Spider-Man has posed:
It is not impromptu. Pete went through all the appropriate channels to get the field trip to the New York City of Science. He did an expose on the place for the Middleton High paper a few years ago and got to know one of the curators, Ms. Flanners and got in touch with her to see if he could bring a group of young minds for a tour before the school year starts back up. Science Club in the making, amirite?

After receiving the thumbs up from Ms. Flanners, who was eager to enlighten young minds, it was the proper channels through Xaviers... which you'll just have to take my word on. HE DID IT OKAY? This isn't kidnapping.. he's not a kidnapper.

Besides, Kitty was there to assure everyone he wasn't, in fact, kidnapping students.

That would be illegal.

So a sign up sheet went around, students and faculty alike were encouraged to come along for a full day of riveting exhibits featuring a HANDS ON (this is straight from their webpage, so no foolin) playground of sciency fun.

Seated on the bus headed for the Museum in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens, Peter is playing some hand held game with Tommie, his new pal whats moped he destroyed and has since been helping repair. "You're cheating, Tommie... I can see you cheating, stop cheating."

Nightingale has posed:
     Word had gotten around quickly among the students about the trip, and Shannon was no exception. With encouragement from Scott, she had decided to accompany her classmates on the venture, with a detour to her dorm to freshen up, change and snag her image inducer to hide two obvious points of interest. Wings, that is. Get your minds out of the gutter, boys! So she looks for all the world like a normal human, in a pretty low-backed sundress with a modest neckline, and her favorite daisy flip-flops, enjoying a trip outside of school grounds. She's sitting by herself on the bus, content to watch and listen to everyone else, and enjoy the trip. Maybe she'd even be able to get some photos of the excursion to send back to her family in Connecticut. That thought did make her smile.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie has claimed the back of the bus reserving the long seat for two others he saw signed up for the trip. He gets to be one of the cool kids, and besides puts eyes on the younger students from more angles this way.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani Moonstar was trying to fit in as the Athletics Instructor at the school. Although she was feeling a little uncomfortable, she was keeping an eye on everything going on. It was her first day back at the school, and this was also her first time on a field trip.

Sighing, Dani watches the students with a look. It seems like only yesterday she was the student, looking at the teacher. This was a great opportunity for all of them to learn, and maybe she could pick up a few things to further her Masters Degree ideas she had rumbling around in her head. As it was, a working day of "fun".

Elixir has posed:
Josh sits up front reading away on his phone. After the events of the last Xavier's field trip, he was only too happy to sign up for this one. Thankfully the managing physician on the Avengers medical staff was a very flexible woman and had no issue with Josh going. That did not mean he had any less work to do.

<If you get bored of being a loner you can sit up here> Josh texts Shannon after he finishes reading one paper and before starting the next.

For the first time in his life he is wearing an image inducer as well. The only effect is to make is skin normal coloured again, but there was no need to get mobbed or draw attention to the students. And it was nice to look normal again.

Cyclops has posed:
At the front of the bus, sitting in the driver's seat, is everyone's favorite teacher. Maybe not so much on the favorite part. More notorious. Scott Summers was elected to drive because, after all, he wasn't really a social butterfly so having him sit with everyone else would just be silly. He wouldn't want to anyway. Would he? Nah, can't be.

He had the little mirror flipped down so he could keep an eye on the riders. Not necessary with the teacher to student ratio yet he couldn't help himself.

There would be no tomfoolery on his watch. He would turn this bus around if he had to!

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty climbs on the bus and looks around. "So everything lined up to kidnap- I mean take the students to the museum?" she asks Peter Parker. "This is a school function, so remember your images inducers if you need one," she reminds as she moves over to take a seat behind the trip organizer.

"This was a great idea," she tells Peter. "Nice of you to set it up." Kitty glances up and sees Dani, flashing her a warm smile. "Dani! Been too long," she says. "Great to see you."

Kitty has a backpack with her with a few staples for a chaperone to have. First aid kid, some energy bars, extra batteries for image inducers. The usual.

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto heard the trip through friend channels and decides to evade meetings and business calls for an hour on the chance to catch up with some old New Mutants that he knows are going.

As usual he is wearing a power suit, all dark blue, but for the red tie. It looks expensive. And it works grat because he is not bothered at all by the summer heat. The advantages of being solar-powered.

So he is waiting at the lobby when the others arrive, and he moves to intercept. "Hey Sam... Dani! It has been a forever. So great to see you!"

Nightingale has posed:
     Shannon smiles a bit at the text from Josh. Heart of gold, that one. She glances back quickly at Sam, a bit rosy in the face, before looking back down at her phone and tapping out a quick response. <Sure thing. Be right there.> She gets up and moves down the aisle to take the seat next to Josh, smiling somewhat. "Thanks." The old leather bag tied at her waist had a bit more bulk to it than the last others might have seen. "Ever been to this place before?"

Elixir has posed:
"Of course, gotta look out for each other, right?" Josh says with a grin and the younger mutant's shoulder without looking up from his phone. "Uh, yeah, I think so. In like, high school? Don't remember much, except the pizza was good in the cafeteria... Priorities, you know?"

Spider-Man has posed:
Pete reaches up to squeeze Kitty's arm affectionately and winks, "Thanks, Kits. Probably wouldn't let me kidnap all these kids if it weren't for you... so.. ya know.. accomplice... just ef why eye. I'm taking you down with me." Tommie nudges his 'chaperone' in the ribs, "stop flirting and play. You don't get to use Ms. Pryde to get out of this thrashing..." Pete pantomimes being truly injured and glares playfully at his lil buddy, "Watch it, you'll be the first one fed to the sarlacc... You know they have a sarlacc at the museum right?" Bringing his handheld up to continue getting his butt smashed by a twelve year old. "Tommie, I swear to god, I see you cheating.."

The front of the gated museum comes into view a short while later. It's suppose to be nearing closing, what with Pete having an inside gal on staff, they were going to have pretty much free reign.. "Oop, sorry pal, we're here." handheld shut down, much to Tommie's displeasure, Pete slides out of his seat and turns his METS cap around backwards as he slips forward between the seats, "Hey Scott.. I got us pretty good parking... Right around the corner up 45th Ave." Moving his hand to indicate the general direction, he's kind of a Queens native after all. "Parking Garage, I know the guy works the night security, said he'd give us a sweet school discount since we're coming after usual operation hours."

Moonstar has posed:
While watching the students like a hawk, Dani starts, and hears a familiar voice single her out. "Um. Thanks Kitty! I mean, Ms. Pryde..." A slight pause as she recovers, "...it has been too long! Happy to help! It was Sam's...er, Mr. Guthrie's idea actually!"

Her gaze moves to Sam, and she smiles. "Right?" Dani grins, and then hears another familiar voice! "'Berto! Hi! I mean, Mr. Da Costa of course." Wow, these rules were tough to remember! Her eyes then focus on Mr Parker, and she gets a sense of something. Meh. Putting it aside, she turns her attention back to the students.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty smiles back to Peter. "I just hope we don't ask for too little ransom," she teases him. The brunette seems in a good mood. Her recent project at work went well enough she was able to take the day off for the trip. And going to the science museum is kind if like a religious pilgrimage for someone like Kitty. And who better to take than a bunch of students who-"

"Hambone, do NOT put that up your nose!" Kitty calls towards the back of the bus. She gets and makes her way back to talk to a couple of the students. "Aw, but Miss Pryde, we got 10 loot boxes in Clash of Cthulu riding on it!" the student complains. Kitty just crosses her arms and looks at him until Hambone finally sighs and puts the Statue of Liberty replica away.

Kitty shakes her head and walks back to the front. "Really, what would Captain America say if he'd seen you about to defile Lady Liberty, James?" Kitty asks, using Hambone's real name. Though as she's walking away, she's shaking her head and laughing.

Kitty returns to the front of the bus, patting Roberto's shoulder on the way and telling him, "Awesome you were able to make it." She continues on to sit back down, calling to Scott, "I know, I know... no being out of our seats while the bus is in motion. But if you'd seen where that Torch was going..."

Cyclops has posed:
Somehow, she knew he was watching. Even with those lenses covering his eyes. Scott doesn't say anything back to Kitty though, pretending he wasn't about to have that exact reaction.

At the instructions from Peter, Scott starts to say something then realizes that would be amiss. Even though it is deviating from his plan, Peter knows the guy. Scott doesn't. So showing up in a bus does not mean discount would be presented. "Alright."

Thus, the bus takes a turn to go to the parking garage first. Thankfully this one is designed for the size vehicle they are in. Unfortunately, that means there will be a bit of a walk in store to the museum. It's okay though. It's good for physical fitness!

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie does keep an eye on the area they are going through. He looks over to Dani, and says "Sam, please Miss Moonstar." he says and looks over to Roberto, "I knew you would end being too formal." He tosses the other man a Detroit baseball cap. "I think that's more fitting." He grins it is good having the olf gang around.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon opens her mouth to answer Josh--only to hear the verbal altercation between Kitty and Hambone. She stifles a laugh, toning it down to a light giggle, as she watches. "Ewww... seriously, that's just gross!" Yeah, though she'd only met the Captain in question once, if his reputation was anything to go by, it wasn't too hard to guess that whatever was said about Hambone's treatment of Lady Liberty, would -not- be very complimentary at all!

She facepalms and turns back around, listening to Josh. A light chuckle escapes her and she grins. "I know, right? Speaking of, do you think we'll be able to get a snack while we're there? I sort of forgot lunch."

Sunspot has posed:
"Mister what?" Roberto looks at Dani with a lopsided smile, "ah, Sam," he catches the baseball cap and puts it on his head. It clashes terribly with his power suit, but see if he cares. "I have an hour, Kitty...I mean, Professor Pryde. I am the boss, after all. So sometimes I even manage to boss my way around."

He goes and hugs Dani regardless. It has been too long. "Are you joining Xavier's staff? For good reasons I always thought you would graduate into SHIELD, or maybe the Justice League."

Elixir has posed:
"Forgot lunch? You're like the baking queen," Josh chuckles to Shannon. "There's a brownie and a ham sandwich in containers in my pack," Josh says and gestures to the backpack on floor between them. "Help yourself if you want."

Josh glances up from his phone to see where they are and then back down to keep reading. "Don't go into podiatrics," Josh mutters to Shannon with a sigh. "Feet are gross."

Moonstar has posed:
"Sam." Dani says with a smile. "This is crazy..." Dani looks left and right, making sure to keep an eye on everyone. A sideways look at Roberto offers him a smile as well. Then, she watches Kitty and Peter, and says, "Okay. Keep moving." Her outfit today was a regular set of clothes. Something she was actually having a hard time wearing.

Jeans. A white, collared blouse, and a set of knee-high brown leather boots, that should be worn while riding horses. Then, a hug! "HI 'berto." She hugs him, not too hard. Asgardian stuff. "I am back here and on staff." She giggles a bit when he suggests the Justice League. "SHIELD is a thing...but how about you? What are you doing?"

Spider-Man has posed:
Pete was on his way back to his seat, side eyeing Dani with a grin at the returning, if unknown to him, physical education teacher when his expression goes kind of... startled. Like he heard something terrifying, even if there were no sound at all... a few seconds later, there is a sound, however. It sounds like a battering ram smashing against a brick-wall... which is surprisingly not inaccurate to what the source of that sound actually is!

A Gigantic gun-metal gray tusk crushes out the side wall of the parking garage they're now heading, and The Rhino charges out looking like some kind of freakshow amidst a rain of debris directly at the right side of the bus. "Scott TURN!" Peter shouts back over his shoulder, hopefully not too late, but maybe too late, for them to become a bus sized target for the once again crouching figure of the Monster like villain!

Peter, for his part, leaps up on the seats and grabs hold of the backpack railings, swinging himself like an acrobat towards Tommie, who happens to be sitting window side on the target zone of the bus, to grab and curl the young student up with his own back pointed towards the shatter glass, ready to eat the damage if necessary. "GET DOWN!"

Rhino is charging and growling in his bass heavy voice, "MOVE CHUMPS! RHINO HAS PLACES TO BE!" Carrying several huge bags of currency over one shoulder like a giant gray Santa Claus delivering presents to the poor!

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty laughs and flashes a grin over to Dani at being addressed like that. "Oh stop, you're older than I am. Or are you guys never letting me off the hook for that embarrassing 'babies' comment," Kitty says, and blushing, as she often does when it comes up. There have been dozens of apologies over the years.

Kitty is returned to her seat now and looks ahead to see where the bus is heading. "So Peter, you totally got us set up here?" she asks. "I didn't realize you even got us parking," she says, giving him an overly exaggerated impressed look before breaking into her softer, normal smile.

Kitty turns around, doing a quick headcount while everyone is still seated. One wouldn't normally figure they could lose a student on a bus ride, but then teleporters, phasers, flyers, and any other manner of powers? Best to be sure.

The sound of the crash has Kitty phasing on instinct. She whirls around to see Rhino charging towards them. "What's he doing here?" she blurts out before looking towards the path Rhino is taking towards the bus. Kitty dives through seats rather than over them, getting her hands on the two students nearest to the impact point - who aren't invulnerable at least - and phasing them with her.

Nightingale has posed:
     "Yeah, forgot lunch. Kind of got wrapped up in a small research project I've been putzing about with." Shannon grins a bit sheepishly and almost dives for the backpack. The brownie in question does not last long. Shame on her, going for the junk food! "Thanks... needed that." She wrinkles her nose at the thought of podiatry, getting a distinct 'stankface' look. "Well... that's definitely not among my dreams." Of course, she wouldn't say just what -is-....

     ...not that there was much time to continue with that train of thought, anyhow! Not with that thudding, cracking, the shouting, and sound of shattering concrete and glass. Her head whips about and she freezes for a moment, unable to look away. Thankfully, Josh's backpack was still in her hands, and she instinctively raises it as a shield in front of her face.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott doesn't hesitate when he hears the warning from Peter. He slams down the gas pedal as he yanks the steering wheel, trying to get the bus out of range of the rampaging beast-man.

In a car, it would've been beautiful. An SUV? Perfection. And older bus that weighs this much and handles like a tank? Not so much. While he manages to swerve mostly out of the way, the engine cannot handle the sudden motion and the entire vehicle sways dangerously.

Only to be followed up by a loud crashing sound as the Rhino actually connects.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will move as he hears and sees sometihng he is moving to the emergency door. He opens it, and says Berto knock him away from the bus. Dani ummm." He realizes he has not asked Dani where her powers are at right now. "Make sure he does not get past Berto and me." He will vault himself to the top of the bus t head towards Rhino's side.

Elixir has posed:
"Actually down!" Josh shouts to Shannon when Peter yells out. He grabs Shannon by the shoulder, pulls her down across him and hunchers over. It was a lot easier in his mind because he gets a face full of wing that he cannot see, hidden by the image inducer.

Moonstar has posed:
As Scott hits the gas, Dani concentrates on protecting the students. Her empathy helps to absorb the fears and the scary bits the kids are starting to feel. She stands in the middle of the alleyway in the middle of the bus, and looks back at the students, her hands grabbing each seat on either side of the rows. She nods as Sam tells her he would take care of it. "As always Sam."

"It is okay everyone. It will be okay. Hang in there. I am here to protect you." She closes her eyes and concentrates. So far, her death sense was not having a field day. No one would die this day. She was ready to take any impact to protect the kids.

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto had barely climbed into the bus when he is forced to jump out quickly. He couldn't even respond Dani's question before Sam 'recruited' him as meat shield. "Knock him away? That guy is the size of the Hulk," grumbles the young Brazilian, powering up to pitch black, nevertheless.

He vaguely remembers Rhino was able to hold himself against the Thing and maybe the Hulk, which mean the Russian thug is considerably stronger then Sunspot. Still, if he can give Scott a few seconds, or make Rhino miss the first charge, it might be enough.

Sunspot takes off, meeting the Rhino as far as possible from the bus, and attempts to grab his head and toss him away, or at least aside, so the larger man can't reach the others.

Spider-Man has posed:
The Rhino hits the bus near the back end, just after Samuel and then Roberto leap out, and plows straight through the heavy vehicle as if it weighed absolutely nothing at all. His horn gores the back bumper and hoists it up dangerously in the air and his massive elbow swats it off like an annoying nat sending it in a tumble onto its side, sliding along with the increased speed. Half spinning around into traffic, causing something like a pileup as one car hits the overturned bus, then another hits that one and so on...

Rhino laughs heartily and tries to take a swipe at Cannonball with a big bag of money, "You's gonna leave yur friends huh?! YOU SHOULD RUN!" Laughing in a barrelling sound as he crunches over vehicles. Foot patrol police come out through the gape in the wall and take shots at the rampaging villain, but they bounce fairly harmlessly off his armored suit... but it doesn't make him happy. Rhino HATES being shot at.

He hates being hit with blasts of solar energy even more because that actually DOES kind of smart. "CUT IT OUT!" He shouts up at Sunspot, growling menacingly and reaching for one of the mangled vehicles to hurl up at him. He's no Superman, but he definitely lifts bro...

The combination of the bus crashing on its side, which is thunderous inside the vehicle, and then vehicles smashing against it blaring horns, and finally gunfire? Dani has plenty of fear to sooth... screams of children, groans of at least one who probably has some injuries, and at least one Peter Parker grunting where he hangs from a hand from a bent backpack railing listing dangerously after the collision. He's still got ahold of Tommie who is clutching to the chemistry teacher like a safety blanket, "Sal'right buddy, I got you... but you have to do something for me okay? You have to slide down my legs and try and get down to Kitty, can you do that?"

Pete is bleeding from his forehead and has a pretty deep gash on his upper arm from the shatter glass, but he looks fairly alright considering, "Kitty, I got Tommie coming down to you, I'm going to get us a way out of here..."

Once the younger mutant is off his legs, Pete pulls himself up to the side (now top) of the bus and crawls towards the emergency roof exit to test the release, when that doesn't work, he puts a hand on either side and mule kicks it out into the street and leaps into the street. Waving his hands inside, "Josh! Get Shannon up here..." Glancing over to where Sunspot and Cannonball are engaging the Villain.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty takes the two student that she'd grabbed and phased before impact, and guides them towards the outside of the bus on the far side from Rhino. One of them is Hambone. Kitty asks him, "Aren't you really glad you didn't the Statue of Liberty up your nose when that happened?"

It's called a learning experience.

Kitty drops the two kids outside the bus and then turns back, moving to Tommy after she hears Pete's call. "I can get them out the side," she says, taking Tommy's hand as well as Moochie, a thin student who seems to not only endlessly eat, but to ask people, "Hey, Are you done with that?" when they are eating. However right now he just wants to get to safety.

Kitty phases them both and takes them through the wall of the bus again, dropping them outside before turning back for more students.

Nightingale has posed:
     While Dani is absorbing the emotions of all the students and teachers around her, of which there seem to be plenty, there is an island of surprising calm. Past an initial burst of shock and fear, something else seemed to kick in inside of Shannon, when she hears Peter's call--somewhat muffled by her hunched-over position as Josh had shielded her. Shit. Someone was hurt. The question was, who, how badly, and where? As soon as she can, she looks up, pulling herself out of the seat she was in to make way for Josh. She holds on where she can for support, getting her bearings. She takes a few deep breaths to maintain her focus, her training starting to kick in.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott failed. It is a resounding fact that is echoing in his mind even as the inevitable happens.

There is no recovery, no help. The bus is a sitting duck and it goes over, hard. Rhino bats it aside and suddenly there is nothing but the sound of wrenching metal and breaking glass. Belongings from the occupants are thrown all over the compartment, adding to the chaos.

He finds himself laying on the side of the bus where the door was, meaning that exit was gone to them since it was currently on the ground. He pushes himself up, ignoring the aches from the impact and realizing he has a problem. His glasses are gone.

He crouches atop what was once a door, reaching out with his senses and getting an idea of what is happening in the van. There is the sound of a door being kicked then a whiff of fresh air. There is an opening there now. Yet he keeps his eyes closed tightly as he reaches into his pocket with a quick request the powers above.

His spare pair are still there, in their hard case. He pulls them out, puts them on then finally opens his eyes. "Get the children clear of the bus. Away from the conflict. We don't want them in the middle of this." Even now, he's trying to give orders as he starts to work his way toward the children closest, motioning to the open escape hatch at the top. The rear emergency door might still work but he'd have to go a long distance to find that out.

Moonstar has posed:
As the bus crashes on her side, Dani cries out, but only for a second. She hears the cries of pain and anguish from the students in her charge, and that is her first concern. "Okay everyone! Sound off! Make sure you have your partner in sight, and everyone grab hands! We're getting out of here!" Dani's voice is loud, but strong and confident. "Everyone! Out the back! Make sure Shuri is okay!" The student with the injuries..."

Dani directs the oldest to open the back emergency door, and waves everyone out. Staying close by, Dani directs everyone to the nearest wall, making sure everyone is safe and sound. "Let's go! Be strong! Don't worry, Mr. Guthrie and Mr Da Costa and Ms. Pryde have things well in hand. C'mon! Go, go, go!" Her voice is calm and strong, and hopefully, breeds confidence in the students.

Meanwhile, what Dani really wants to do is kick some...well. Her eyes smolder, but she controls her rage. The students were her charge, and dammit, she was going to make sure they were okay! No trips to VALHALLA today...making sure her body shields the children, Dani shuffles them safe...hopefully.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will do a dodge that he was taught by Kurt in his training as he smirks a bit at Rhino, nor tuning away, more like blasting to." And he hits his blast field trying to use it to lift the grey hided man off his feet and carry him towards a construction site, or other less populated area for the tussle.

Elixir has posed:
A gold aura flashes around Josh the instant he gets knocked onto the window that is now the ground.

"Shannon, up and out for Pete," Josh says after Shannon disentangles herself. "I'll handle in here. Listen to him."

Josh catches Dani's direction to the students and starts helping kids up. He passes near the injured student. The youth has large shards of glass in his arm. Josh grabs the youth by the injured arm and ignores the help. Josh pulls him to his feet and they are both surrounded by the aura for a moment. By the time the youth has his balance, the glass has fallen to the floor and his arm is fine.

Sunspot has posed:
Too close to the bus, Roberto could do nothing to prevent the impact, so instead he lets Sam deal with the villain and he turns to the wrecked school bus to see if anyone needs assistance, pulling people out as needed.

"Scott lost his glasses," he notes to the others. "Do you have a backup?" He asks, looking around quickly to see if he can find the ruby quartz spects.

Spider-Man has posed:
The Rhino aint havin none of that nonsense!

Cannonball hits him like a... cannonball and hoists him up in the air, but he's not nearly so inclined to be cart off to parts unknown without his money, which he set down to throw a car at Berto, or causing more mayham! Both big fists come down like he's going to double axe handle the invulnerable Gutherie, either knocking them both down to the ground or forcing Sam to release him in favor of avoiding it. "LEMME GO COMET! I got money down there!"

It temporarily takes him out of the equation, hwoever.

Berto's appearance draws Pete's attention as the chem teacher is hoisting a student up and over the little gap in the roof. There's about three or four kids already around him and more on Kitty's side where she's phasing them straight through the wall. "You alright?" He asks Sunspot... he's got some cuts himself, bleeding from a lac on his forehead and another on his arm, but he looks with it and strong enough to hold himself up with... it looks like his elbows, but he might just be standing against the vertical side of the overturned bus. "I think we've got most of them out... everyone except Shannon, Scott, and Josh... Uhhh Dani? Dani, I think her name is Dani... she's helping kids out the back. Probably use a hand?" One again to Berto, but then Pete is looking around him to Kitty, "How many more, Kits?"

Again he's watching the ltitle arial brawl with a frown, but his priority is definitely getting the kids away from the accident. "How about the people in those cars.. I can see the EMTs, but the streets blocked off.. they can't get through.."

Meanwhile the officers are rushing over to give a hand, some setting up as if they'll fire until they see the comet trail that is Samuel, then turning to start pulling people out of vehicles and get them over to the sidewalk out of the way. NYPD yo. Crisis' is their bread and butter.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty looks down the bus which is clearing out nicely. One good thing about Xavier's kids, they are trained for moments for like this. "Just a few more," Kitty calls back to Peter, helping two more out through the side, which with the bus tipped over happens to be the roof.

"Dani, you got those? I think we're good here if so," Kitty says. She makes a pass through the bus, making sure no one is left behind. She reaches Scott beneath the emergency hatch. "Want a boost," she says, offering a hand which if he takes it, will result in a quick trip outside of the bus without having to clamber through the small emergency hatch.

Nightingale has posed:
     While the other kids are heading for the nearest wall to get out of the way, one does not join them. Shannon nods to Josh and follows Dani out of the bus--only to veer off course and make a beeline for Peter. She ducks down behind the overturned vehicle near Peter, dividing her attention between keeping an eye on the ruckus with the Rhino, and assessing anybody in the immediate vicinity for visible injuries. His are the most readily apparent, and she frowns on seeing them. "Shit." If allowed, she reaches over to touch the injury on his forehead first, closing her eyes to sense and assess just how bad it is. Her voice is just a murmur... "It's not deep, just a cut. The arm... deep but clean." She takes a few deep breaths, and hisses softly as she begins to absorb the injuries, a cut opening up on her forehead, and one on her arm matching Peter's. Damn it, that stung.

Moonstar has posed:
"Thanks Josh!" Dani says, as he helps her and the students. She watches for a split second as he helps Shuri, and then returns to getting the students to safety. "Let's go! Keep going! In order!" Dani motions everyone forward, and ensures they are safe.

Calling back over her shoulder, "I got these ones Kitty! Do what you need to do!" Dani says, calm, and with confidence. "Go, go!" She pushes and maneuvers the kids to safety.

Cyclops has posed:
Scott calls out, "I have my spares, Roberto!" He reaches up to tap the side of them even as Kitty appears in front of him. "Gladly. Kids okay?" he asks even as he reaches out to take her hand.

A moment later, they are outside the overturned bus and he quickly lets go he murmurs a quick, "Thanks." He takes in the scene around him. Dani has the kids and others are helping funnel them to safety. Healers already tending to the injured. Emergency personnel working on the people in cars. He turns his attention to Cannonball who seems to have the villain in hand. Literally. That makes his decision as he heads for the other crashed vehicles, intending to help free people. His optic beams might come in handy with mangled metal and jammed seatbelts.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will take the hit and while it does not hurt the young man it does knock him a bit off course and he and Rhino dig a trench in the road . Ah don't think that is your money, or the cops would not be shooting at you. Sam releases him, and starts an upward arc to come around for another shot at the Russian

Sunspot has posed:
Sunspot shakes his head. "I think everyone is safe. We should worry now on taking that moron out before he causes a real disaster. What kind of monster charges a bus full of children?"

He heads out, regardless, even if Scott and the others stay in the bus. Sam is fighting and he wants a piece of the Russian criminal too.

Spider-Man has posed:
Pete sees that the bus is empty and then looks around for his backpack amidst the other scattered items.. when he doesn't see it, however, he drops down off the side (top) of the roof and lands in a crouch next to Shannon coming up to him. "Whoa, no... don't.." Holding up a finger at her, "I know what happens when you heal someone and I'm fine.." But she's presistent and still gets a hand on him long enough to absorb those injuries unto herself. "Dammit, Shannon..." He grumps quietly, ready to chide her a little when Tommie comes up tugging at his arm, "Mr. Parker?" Not Peter... "I.. uh... you dropped this..."

Holding up a bit of red and black lined cloth in one clutched hand, wide eyed as he stares up at his mentor/teacher. "I wont tell anyone..." Shannon can see it cleanly though.

"Thanks Tommie..." Ruffling the kids hair, temporarily disrupting the image inducer that changes his green bald head in a shimmer. Pete, looks at Shannon, puts one finger to his lips.. then pulls on his mask when nobody, but her and Tommie are looking.

Two fingers tap the pair of watches worn on either wrist and the shift around his forearms..

THWIP

Spider----.... Spider-Man in mask, but Pete clothes yanks himself up on two weblines in the direction Berto is flying of the Sam/Rhino sized crater. Another line from a jutting out wrist swings him at a wall above the long gash in the concrete, "Hey! You down there! Boring grey Koolaid man... You think you could do us all a solid and-" Rhino groans, slaps a hand on one side of the gash to tear a piece of concrete from the street to hurl like a frizbee up at Peterman. "RUDE!"

Elixir has posed:
Josh waves to Dani and follows the last of the kids out. He finally gets a look at their attacker, pauses and runs over to Peter.

Josh runs back toward Rhino and slides to a stop a bit out of reach. He smirks and his aura returns. He starts working to create a /massive/ wave of nausea in Rhino.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty helps Scott through the vehicle and out and then looks about. "If you guys need me to help let me know," she says, before turning to run back through the bus to the side away from Rhino where most of the students are. "Let's go, grab your buddies and move out, just like we've trained," she says, helping get the students moving. "Muster at the end of the block," she directs.

But once they are moving and other chaperones have them in hand, Kitty looks towards the people trapped in their cars. Seeing a car that is on fire from a bad crash, and a woman slumped behind the wheel and the deployed airbag, she runs over, passing through the car's engine and taking the person in hand. She brings them out through the door.

People are just standing there gaping. "What are you standing around for? Haven't you ever seen a hero being heroic. Come carry her out of here and call 911!" she fumes at them. It spurs a couple of people into motion, while Kitty looks for someone else to help.

Nightingale has posed:
     Listen to Peter, Josh said. There was no way Shannon was going to let his injuries go without some form of treatment. She was likely to catch hell for it, but so be it. She had the gift and if it was necessary, would use it. Her eyes go wide with surprise as she realizes just who Peter was. Shit. She'd chewed out... no way. Her smile, though pained, is one of understanding and she nods. "Go get 'im." Without guidance from him, she fell back on what the other teachers had told all the kids, and makes a mad dash to join the others, and muster with them. She would have time to bind up her cut when there was space to do so. Question is, does she make it over there in time...?

Moonstar has posed:
All of the students were safe. "Thank you Josh." Danielle Moonstar smiles. The smile is cold. Lacking warmth and emotion. Her eyes turn black. "Stay here." Her voice, to the students, was as cold as the grave. She shivers, and her head is covered in a helm with wings. She flexes, and her body is covered in armour. Ancient, with runes. Asgardian...she raises her hand, and in her hand is a spear that sings! "Ahhhhhhhaaahhhhhh!" Long! Shining! Ancient! Gugnir appears. The Spear of Odin!

Walking forward, Dani stands in front of her charges. She plants her feet, and becomes a Valkyrie. Humming a dirge from ancient times, the time of heroism, and vikings, a time of warriors, and heroism, she sings to Hela and Freya! Odin! Thor and Loki! A time of Gods and Heroes. Her voice resonates with everyone present.

Suddenly, Dani Moonstar was no longer the teacher. Dani became the Valkyrie, armour, and spear, and aura. She hefts her spear. Peers across the battlefield. Squints her eyes. Takes aim. And unleashes Death on the Rhino with a hurl of Gugnir!!! "This fight is over. No one attacks MY students. Ever."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie one problem with being a flyer, who travels so fast is you go over quiet a distance as you fly. He will make a motion towards Sunspot telling him to go high. Sam comes in from behind, heading in to try to take the big man at the back of the knees in an attempt to set his friend up for the big punch.

Spider-Man has posed:
"Well don't I feel like a shaved tail Louie..." Peter leaps from the wall, literally running across the surface of the hurled chunk of concrete out of a back-flip twist. Both wrists fire webbing down at it as he jumps, twists his arms in a long arch, and hurls it right back at Rhino who is suddenly overcome with a rousing bout of vomiting. Who wants to know what the Russian had for dinner? It's Borscht. Beat red vomit everywhere. Everyone thank Josh for that.

The spear hurled at Rhino connects just after Samuel's rocket punch and is followed in quick sucession by a huge chunk of concrete smashing against the side of his horned head. Staggering him off to the side as it breaks against his dome. "RHINO... does not... feel so go-" More crimson vomit hurled all over the window-shield of a street parked vehicle.

"For the love of god, man, someone get this guy an emesis bag!" Pete lands atop a street crossing sign in a low crouch, both hands down against it as well with his knees jut out to either side, "Hey, Comet-man! You think you can loop back around and catch him in the knees?" Pointing at Samuel who Spider-Man totally doesn't know, nope. Looking then to Dani, "Nice... freakin... armor..." DOUBLE thumbs up, "You look like a comic book character. Totally rad.." THWIP her spear, tossing it back in her direction, "How about we three piece suit this clown and head home for... what the hell did he /eat/?" Sniffing visible at the air. "RHINO, bro, it's time to expand your horizon, my guy.. pop a salad every once in a while, huh? Maybe a.. I don't know something with less beets? You can be Russian without being a stereotype..."

Meanwhile!

EMTs are finally starting to arrive on foot since the roads are blocked. Tommie ran to find Kitty and tugs at her arm to point at Spider-Man with a stupid big grin despite how scared he obviously is. Police are helping Scott pull people out of vehicles, "Are you with the bus, sir? Is everyone okay? We have EMTs on the way..." They assure him, all glancing back at Cannonball/Valkyrie/Spider-Parker. Clearly the trio have the situation well in hand.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty gets distracted away from the vehicles as Tommy comes over to tug on her. "What is it Tomm-" she says before she sees someone swinging around in a Spider-Man mask. "Yeah, it's Spider-Man. Shhhh," Kitty says, covering her lips towards Tommy. And now knowing exactly what he might or might not have seen.

She turns back to helping other people, though it looks like most of the people are out of their vehicles now and receiving medical attention. "Go back and join the others, Tommy," Kitty says, and follows him over to make sure he does.

She takes a last look back towards Spider-Man sending the concrete flying back at Rhino. "Give 'em hell," she says softly before turning to group the students together and get them moved further away. She starts drilling them on not mentioning the school, since mutant powers are on display. But they have been through all of this before.

Nightingale has posed:
     Shannon finally makes it over to Kitty and the rest, hoping that perhaps the red on her forehead and her arm is mistaken for borscht. The last thing she needed was a lecture on using her powers, but when she had been called out to help, how could she say no? She digs into the bag tied at her waist, to see what she had to dress the arm wound--hopefully when nobody was looking. Thankfully, she's had a bit of time to get a few supplies together for her little kit, and has a few gauze pads, and an ace bandage to use to hold them in place till either Josh could get to her, or she could seek normal medical treatment. She looks to Kitty after she is done wrapping up her arm wound, neglecting the one on her forehead temporarily; maybe that one could be written off as getting knocked around in the buss. She says nothing nothing about Peter's transformation, but her expression is enough to tell that yes she did see what happened. "Is everyone okay over here?"

Moonstar has posed:
Dani smiles at Spider-Man through her helm, and concentrates. Gugnir pulls itself out of the Rhino, and finds its way back to her right hand, after Spider-Man's assist, with a "THWIP". With a shrug, Dani twirls it like an ancient gunslinger, and puts it back in its sheath on her back, with one fluid motion. Dani then takes a deep breath knowing the impact this probably had on her students.

Dismissing her armour. Her helm. And looking like the teacher that had been escorting them to the museum, Dani turns to the students, and says, "So...is everyone alright?" Dani could tell a lot of eyes were wide, frightened...or impressed. She ignores the human EMTS and makes sure everyone is alright.

Cyclops has posed:
"I am," Scott answers as he lets loose a very tight, poinpoint beam to cut a seatbelt off a trapped woman and helping her out of the vehicle, into the care of the waiting rescue personnel next to him. "The students were okay. Teachers took them further down the block, away from the scene. Just please don't mention this." He taps his glasses. "To anyone. I don't want those less tolerant coming after me and putting the kids in the line of fire." Feeding into the storyline, that the kids are normal but he obviously has powers.

He glances off in the direction of the fight as the rescue effort now seems to be in the capable hands of New York's first responders. Seems well in hand but he excuses himself anyway. "Please excuse me."

He moves toward the fight at a quick jog then stops within ear shot. Already the heroes are hammering but he adds a quick verbal command since sometimes that helps with a villain on the verge. "Stand down, Rhino! Or you will be put down!"

Elixir has posed:
Josh tilts his head and watches Rhino curiously as the big guy loses his lunch, dinner and tomorrow's breakfast while taking an absolute beating. He puts his hands in his pockets near that first crater as the fight rumbles along and just. Watches.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie comes back around and comet man does come in from behind hitting the manat the knees from behind but grabs on and starts carrying the big man up into the air. He calls out to Spider-peter. "Think you can five me a spot to put him towards those two buildings?" He will ask hoping for a large web to depose the criminal into.

Spider-Man has posed:
The officers and emergency works go wide eyed at Scott, but seem inclined to let him help if he's going to... far be it from them to look a gift horse in the mouth. The jaws of life are still a good ten or so minutes away. One of the Officers however, leans in to the X-Man, "My little sister is a mutie.." He probably doesn't realize that's super derogatory, what with how good natured he means it. "I got your back... Thanks for the assist, sir." Then they get back to work clearing some of the other survivors.

EMTs have finally made it to the students and will provide first aid where needed and only if allowed. They'll be pretty insistant on it, but they have to be, it's part of their job. "Is everyone okay? You kids were really brave! Your teachers too..." Surmissing it's some kind of school function. "Does anyone here need to see a doctor?" Unaware there are ACTUAL healers with at least lvl 1 treat injury amidst the group.

Tommie is insistant against Kitty's arm.. but when she gets adult voice on him he frowns, bobs his head, and dutifully goes off running... he even stops to help one of the younger kids, "Hey, Tessa, come on... Ms. Pryde is right behind me! You don't want to see her grrr face do ya?" Smiling at her, he hoists her up easily to ride on his shoulders as he jogs the rest of the way to where their group is being sheltered.

"Wooooooo!" Spider-Pete Ric Flairs, both hands up, cupped around his masked mouth.

Rhino, however, is stumbling around like a drunken idiot, crashing into vehicles as he goes back to tossing up his cookies... Scott's demands are met, but only because he's completely unable to keep from vomiting for longer than a couple seconds without dropping back to his knees... and if that weren't good enough? Cannonball cannonballs right into his back like a cannonball. Technically it's against butt, but let's not split hairs. He was down on all fours and he's shoved forward into a car... groaning, vomiting, and shivering as he goes unconscious.

"Well..." Pete says from his perch, arms on his thighs, and his fingers laced together between them, "I /can/, but I don't really think I need to? Who gave him the epicate-" Aside to anyone because this was a science field trip, "-That's a medication used to induce intense, heavy vomiting... the more you know..." Back to Sam, "How's about I just..." THWIP THWIP... THWIP-THWIP-THWIP... His wrists rapid fire webbing at the gurgling villion until he's properly webbed to the street. "Boom... in the arms of the angels, like a sleeping, vomity, babe..."

Motioning around, Pete leaps backwards and catches a webline, swinging up into the upper levels of the parking garage where he can yank off his maks and begin the long jog back down to street level. "I'm glad I went through the proper channels... this would be a nightmare for paperwork if I really had kidnapped everyone..."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty gives Tommy a smile and pat on the shoulder as he helps the other student. Without a GRRR face this time either. She does look back, doing her best to hide her concern, but then she sees they have taken Rhino down.

Kitty is on her phone, arranging transportation back. The school bus doesn't name the school, for reasons just like this.

Seeing the blood on Shannon, Kitty gives her a small frown. "Shannon," she says softly in that tone that means she should know better. Kitty goes over to help put a bandage on her forehead, until one of the paramedics takes over.

Josh finally turns and wanders back. He takes his image inducer off and begins dealing with the injured, in twos and threes working alongside the paramedics.
