Location: ocean, Hawaii
Synopsis: Rave and Poseidon meet, introducing themselves while casually standing on water!
Cast of Characters: Poseidon, Rave

Poseidon has posed:
The ocean, today, is as calm as it can be or, at least, that's how it looks on the surface. The waves are far from high, offering the illusion of a blue flat table of water, allowing several people to enjoy the beauty of the day by lounging on the beach, or going for a swim, in the tropical climate of the hawaian isles.
Poseidon is, right now, standing on the sandy seabed not too far from one of the hawaian beaches, his senses registering the swimmers, the humans up there, his expression undecipherable as he focuses on the water around him, assessing the state of his domain in that particular region of the world.

Rave has posed:
Calm, smooth, perfect...and well...fun! It had been a while since Rave had ventured away from New York or the more inland cities, but a trip to the island? Well...why not have a little fun while she could? There were a few photos put on her social media, a few little videos put out and now...she was taking some time to enjoy things for herself.

Wrapped in a two-piece swimsuit that had clearly been chosen to match her billiant blue locks and faintly glowing eyes, she might be a strange enough sight, but as she starts to run towards the surf she doesn't dive straight in. Instead a faint glow starts to fill through the air behind her as she races forwards with inhuman speed and seems to step out onto the water. She was heading further out than most would swim before she actually dove into the water itself.

One doesn't see that every day!

Poseidon has posed:
Someone could say poseidon is standing perfectly still, since in theory he doesn't willingly move, but it would be more correct to say he's floating peacefully, letting the currents of water move him around effortlessly. His mind scans the surrounding water, registering the presence of every living creature, of what it is, what it's doing, then his senses pick up something else. It is a living creature moving on the surface of the water at a quite good speed, and there's even not a boat to justify that speed! That is why Poseidon orders the water surrounding him to gently rise him upwards, stopping to float just a couple of meters under the ocean's surface. For who would want to actually see the sights under the ocean's surface then, today, the image of a tall man wrapped in a blue scale armour would be hard to miss, especially since the man looks alive, with a golden cloak floating behind him in the water and white hair framing his ageless face. At least he doesn't have his trident with him.

Rave has posed:
Speed or not, there were some things that one couldn't ignore. With the world moving slow around her, Rave was happily tracing a hand through the surface of the water and reflecting on the beauty of what she could see beneath the smooth surface she'd yet to disturb...then the water was shifting and there was a man standing above the water floating high. She actually has a moment to stare, to skid to a stop...then gravity kicks in and she drops into the wave with a startled noise.

Poseidon has posed:
It is not difficult to locate the source of the movement, identifying it into the figure of a woman running on water, nor it is hard for Poseidon to dive at maximum speed to wrap his right arm around Rave's shoulders to lift her again above the water's surface, on which he effortlessly seems to stand as if the ocean's surface was made of concrete. "stopping to run like that gives a quite unfair advantage to gravity, be careful!" he speaks, with a voice that manages to be somehow youthful and wise at the same time, as if the two aspects of the god were coexisting into his voice itself.

Rave has posed:
Well, now she was treading water...but not for long. Suddenly she was pulled upwards and out of the waves. There's actually a sudden noise of panic, suprise and then she blinks. It wasn't hostile, but it was certainly unexpected. "Who...what...how...?" the blue-haired girl questions before lowering her legs a little to try and touch the water as if testing how solid it might be. "Uh...hi."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon focuses for the briefest of moments, mentally controlling the water under Rave's feet, giving it solidity so that the girl can stand on it just as he is doing, so that he can unwrap his arm from around her shoulders without the risk of seeing her sink again.
"Greetings!" he answers, moving a step backwards still on the water so not to be into Rave's personal space, now standing quietly in front of her in all his regality probably accentuated by the armor he's wearing. "I am sorry for making you lose your focus, I guess someone appearing like I did could be, to some, as odd as seeing someone running on water, hm?"

Rave has posed:
Well this was...weird. Without the speed, feeling 'solid' water beneath her feet had her blinking and bending down to touch her fingers across the surface almost absently, as if she'd forgotten the company she was in for a moment before she blinks and straightens up. "Oh uh...sory. I suppose we were both a little 'odd'." Sheepish greetings aside, she tilts her head to the side as those faintly luminescent eyes sweep over his armored form. "Are you some sort of 'Water Knight'?"

Well, she -had- seen weirder lately!

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon shakes his head with a low chuckle, his white hair whipping from side to side as his eyes study the woman. "Not really, I am Poseidon." he simply introduces himself, after all, in his mind at least, he shouldn't be that unknown to humanity! At least those knowing a bit about greek history will recognize him, and those knowledgeable on godly stuff will definitely recognize him. "and who are you, if I may ask? Your haircolor is, peculiar, for a human..."

Rave has posed:
"Wait like...from the Odyssey?" she blinks, bouncing lightly on her feet even as she speaks. Perhaps she still was finding it a little strange how solid it felt beneath her feet. "Really?" Seems Rave recognized the name well enough. His question however does earn a little laugh and she shrugs, raising her hands into the air and tracing out a classic 'heart' of glowing lights that lingers for a moment before winking out of existance. "I'd say I'm probably 'peculiar', certainly not quite 'normal'. I'm Rave."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon starts to raise an eyebrow, then he pauses, the eyebrow fluttering halfway between its average state and the raised one, and he nods in recognition "well, I am that Poseidon, but not exactly like the one the book described. As in, well, that book really didn't paint me in a good light." he shrugs, crossing his arms on his chest and looking at Rave's glowing heart with a soft smile "nicely done! Yes, definitely, peculiar indeed." and then he bows his head slightly in greeting "a pleasure to make your acquaintance then, Rave."

Rave has posed:
"So that whole thing with the offering never happened or...?" she begins before trailing off. Probably not the best thing to bring up a potential 'sore spot' with a god. The blunette swimsuited speedster blinks after a moment, raising a hand to gesture to the surroundings. "So you're like...the god of the ocean? And you're just hanging out in Hawaii for the sun, sand and surf?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon shakes his head again "the offerings happened, what I mean is that I wasn't so much an, well ok I think today you would call it an asshole, with the, protagonist, of that quite fun book you mentioned before." he explains, again shrugging, and again twisting his lips in a smile "I am the god of the sea, and no, I was just making sure the waters here were, healthy? I don't know how to explain it, it's like when you walk into your house and glance around to see if everything is in place, or something like that, if you need to make some works on something or clean or, well, that sort of things. I am not really in need of sun, sand, and surf."

Rave has posed:
It made sense, who else would care if the oceans were clean and healthy if not their apparent patron? The girl nods her head before giving a little laugh at his words, shrugging her shoulders. "I guess, but people have to...enjoy where they live, don't they? I mean, if you're the god of the ocean, you should enjoy swimming or chilling on the beach right?"

A shrug of her bared shoulders, Rave looks back towards the direction of the island. "I mean it's beautiful. It's comfortable...it'd kinda be a shame if you were bored with it."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon hmms thoughtfully, tilting his head slightly "well, I enyoy swimming as you enjoy walking, really. As for the beach, there's better than this trust me and then in tousands of years you get to be quite indifferent to some things! It's like, if you had cakes everyday, after a wile, they wouldn't be so special really." he tries to explain, gesturing casually with his left hand towards the isles "plus, too much crowd for my tastes. I don't mind mingling with humans, I do it from time to time, but when I want to relax being surrounded by a crowd of surface dwellers is not exactly my first plan."

Rave has posed:
"I've had my abilities for...about three months," Rave muses, giving a little laugh. "I know that they heal me, but I've got no idea if it'll have me living for thousands of years so...I'll take your word for it. But the crowds can be a little crazy, that's why I was so far out. You're uh...one heck of a lifeguard to run into though."

She pauses, glancing back down towards the water. "So then, I suppose you enjoy swimming if it's somewhere enjoyable, or somewhere interesting?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon twists his lips in another smile, that soon turns into a chuckle "I think I've never been called lifeguard before, that's new! I don't think I have the license for that though" he comments, still fairly amused.
Nodding in agreement, Poseidon sort of confirms the woman's words "indeed, just like some of you like walking in forests. Even if I am supposed to know it all, the sea still amazes and surprises me at times with its marvelous sights. There are parts of it that you humans couldn't even imagine, both because the places are hidden, or so deep that you couldn't get there without help, nor see in such a complete darkness. But when you see mountains, valleys, canyons, forests, all underwater, with tousands and tousands of multicolored fishes swimming in perfect formation, others moving to form rainbows with their scaly skins reflecting the fluorescent light of other creatures floating peacefully to provide their light... Well those are some sights."

Rave has posed:
"I uh...huh..." she's sort of at a loss for that. Darkness wasn't something that she couldn't deal with mostly...but she didn't really have the means to travel the way he's describing. "I can't breathe underwater. I can run halfway around the world quicker than most people could get around town, but..." she trails off and looks down, giving a little chuckle. "I think that seeing all that is probably something I'd miss out on."

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon looks thoughtful for a couple of seconds, even blinking a couple of times "the possibility to breathe underwater for a bit is a boon I sometimes grant to mortals, but we'll see. Maybe, one day, you'll get to enjoy all of those sights and then some, especially if you can produce your own light and all!" he admits, again twisting his lips into a smile "just because all of you humans stopped even believing in us and sending your prayers our way it doesn't necessarily mean we've grown indifferent to you all!"

Rave has posed:
This was all a bit to process. After all, she'd heard of Thor, but she'd not -met- any 'gods' face to face before. Did that mean that they really did hear prayers? seek sacrifices? Was that story with the swan true? There's a shake of her head and her hand comes up to those blue locks. "This is not what I expected to find today, I figured I'd do some sunbathing, swimming and..." she begins before blinking. "Hey, aren't you meant to have that trident thingy?"

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon chuckles again "it's not like meeting me is something people generally expect. True, not too long ago a woman tried literally to fish me with a crystal ball, but that's mostly it now aday." he shrugs slightly, the cloak moving slightly from side to side as his shoulders rise and fall. "the trident? I temporarily granted it to someone, so they're using it right now. At least, the original one. It's not like I can't live without it! Plus I can make something similar" he extends his right hand, palm facing outwards, and those with magically attuned senses could see his body glowing for the fraction of a moment as a tall trident materializes in his hand. This is definitely not the original weapon, not the one in songs and legends, but still can be used with a certain efficency in battle, surely it is not good to be on the wrong end of those three stabbing and sharp blades at the end of the tall metal trident!

Rave has posed:
Whoa! The girl actually takes a step back at the manifestation. Sure there was the news that gods were bestowing divine weapons to people, but she was no magician. Instead, the living light-show that was Rave takes a step back and nearly stumbles off her platform of solid water. It might not be the original weapon, but she wasn't read up enough to know the difference. It looked real enough to her!

Poseidon has posed:
Poseidon opens his hand, letting the trident vanish just as it appeared, and even extends the platform of solid water to save the girl from a quite hilarious but maybe not so fun stumble into the ocean! "ah don't worry, I will not use it anytime soon! I hope, at least. That'd mean some bad news, for a lot of people." he adds, in a more serious tone. After all, if a very powerful creature is needed to become even more powerful, feat achieved through the trident, it means that something quite serious is or is going to happen, and that's probably not good!

Rave has posed:
"I uh...should be heading back," Rave finally speaks, gesturing towards the sands. "I mean, I left my clothes and my bag on the beach and..." Truth be told, she probably just needed some time to process the revelations of the day, but losing her stuff and being forced to run back across the states in a swimsuit, even at her speed, wouldn't be great. She'd get some odd looks when she turned up at her home!

"Do you...hang out around here often? Or am I more likely to bump into you in the middle of nowhere, or near some big surf?" It's a lot of questions, but that's speedsters for you. "Unless you just tend to go scooping random girls out of the ocean."

Poseidon has posed:
"just the ones I caused to fall into the ocean in the first place" Poseidon replies, then looks actually thoughtful again "I don't really, have an address or anything, I mean, I do have a palace but it is not easy to reach for a mortal. So yes, you're likely to randomly bump into me, unless you want to find a temple and actually pray, then I'll ear you and if I'm not busy doing something else, which is a common occurrence now aday, I will actually come." he explains, uncrossing his arms from his chest and actually sinking into the water till it is at waist level "I'll keep the water solid till you start running, wouldn't want to have you drop down into the water all of a sudden, hm?" he adds, extending again the solid water to form a sort of runway that would allow the girl to gain enough speed to actually run on the ocean as she did earlier.

Rave has posed:
It was worth a chuckle, his humor and the idea of sitting down and praying to a greek ocean god. She'd have to google that one for the proper way to do -that-. Still, there's a nod and a salute of her hand before she braces to take off. "Well it was nice, if not a little weird and unexpected, to meet you Poseidon. Till next time I guess!"

With that, there's a flash of light and a streak of disturbed water, but Rave is already long gone!
