Superman has posed:
It was just another day in orbit around the big blue ball known as Earth. So far, the day had been quiet on the day side of the planet. In the Eastern time zone it was early, mid morning, and the day was really just getting underway. On the JL Watchtower, things were pretty quiet. Only one person was present at this time, doing his duty - monitor duty.

Superman was leaning against a nearby table, sipping on a hot mug of coffee, and watching the readouts scroll across the screen. "Looks like a minor Earthquake near the Phillipines." Superman took a sip of coffee. "Heat wave in South Africa." Another sip, clicking through the screen. "STrange rainstorm in Central City...better let Barry know..."

Aquaman has posed:
There was precious little time in the Atlantean king's schedule anymore, and it was always scheduled. Even impromptu visits were scheduled. So exactly on the hour Arthur used the zeta beam from New York to the Watchtower to look for the leader of the Justice League. He was easy enough to find.

"Superman," Arthur greets gruffly when he walks into the Monitor Room. Whatever was scheduled before this must have been sleep. Or Arthur was always this way. Or both.

"Still think you should hire people for this," he comments with a smirk. He comes over to clasp a forearm with the super leader. For his part, Arthur is wearing street clothes, jeans, a tight black t-shirt and boots. Quite the look for the King of Atlantis, but typical for Arthur.

Superman has posed:
After a quick call to the Flash in Central City, Superman notes that the Zeta Beam was being used. "Perfect. Excellent timing..." Putting his coffee mug down on the table, and standing straight, Superman greets the King of Atlantis. "Aquaman. Thank you for coming!"

Clasping Aquaman's right arm in his in a strong, but friendly grip, Superman smiles. "You aren't wrong. I wish I could hire people for this. I don't know if we could rely on them to do the job however. Also, Batman wouldn't allow it. You know how paranoid about security he is."

Releasing Arthur, Superman motions towards the coffee. "Fresh pot on if you want it. J'onn brought some weird "chocolate coffee" from somewhere on his travels. It's not bad, if a bit sweet for my tastes."

Aquaman has posed:
"I'm surprised Batman trusts us to run this place," Arthur grunts good-naturedly. He heads over to pour himself a cup of coffee and tastes it. He wrinkles his nose a bit. "What's wrong with Nescafe again?"

Arthur walks back over and sits against the edge of a console not far from Superman.

"That idiot is making all kinds of trouble," Arthur says with a nod toward a monitor showing the big floating fortress off New York. "His little crusade is going to get him and a lot of people killed. You wouldn't believe the meeting I had with his daughter, the ambassador."

Superman has posed:
"Me too. Very surprised he lets us even on board." Superman chuckles lightly, enjoying teasing their absentee friend. As Aquaman tries the coffee, Superman shrugs. "Nothing. I can make you some if you like?" Superman was sincere in that offer. "Sorry are no pastries. I think we have some cookies hidden away so J'onn can't eat them all if you like?"

"Ah. Yeah, I was wondering about an update in regards to that "floating fortress" as you put it. Ambassador...is that what she is calling herself? What do you think about all this?" Superman genuinly respects Arthur's opinion and thoughts, as was obvious by the tone in his voice.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur shakes his head with a chuckle. "Thanks, this fancy stuff'll do."

He takes another sip of his coffee and shrugs. "Lorna Dane? She calls herself princess, but she showed up at the Embassy pleading for Atlantis to spare her people after I sent Magneto a warning. Worked for the US, they could say it wasn't them and Magneto can't do much to us. And I take away the favour owed," Arthur grins.

"Get this. After the missle launches, she comes to me in court as her royal self and tells me she and the Genoshan Council disavow Magneto's actions. Claims he's acting on his own and not as King. Told her that wasn't gonna fly, he's the King no matter what he does until he isn't King," Arthur explains. "Offered to give her some cover for a change if she's got the balls to make the jump, and give her people protection from the Sentinels. She's in over her head though, not quite ready to do what it takes to rule."

"Magneto? Not a fucking word. I show we can drop his little fortress into the ocean and glass his people, and he doesn't say a thing. That man is insane, evil or both."

Superman has posed:
Turning back to the coffee to refill his mug, Superman pours himself a full cup. Then, he blows over top the mug to cool it off (gently of course) - an old habit he always got into after seeing Ma and Pa Kent do it at home. It helped with the illusion when in his other guise so that people saw him as normal. Just one more thing to blend in. After all, the heat from the coffee could not burn him. It was just a habit.

"Ah right. This "Lorna Dane" is in our database as "Polaris". Another magnetic type, like Cosmic Boy from the Legion." Nodding, and taking a sip, Clark listens to Arthur continue before asking, "I see. Sounds like you handled that perfectly, considering what you could have done to deal with it. She sounds...contrite from what you are saying."

Superman sighs. "Yes, I can see where this is heading. I know I have pick up a lot of chatter and intel reports on these Sentinels from Tony Stark and our liaisons with the Avengers, but Magneto is a whole other issue." Superman pauses as the tactical display on the large screen shows what Arthur was talking about as though "listening" to their comments.

"Well then...you are tactically brilliant...what do you suggest?" Superman regards the screen first, and then looks at Aquaman waiting for his thoughts on the matter.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur sets his mug down on the console. Somewhere, Batman probably starts grinding his teeth. The Atlantean crosses his arms over his chest.

"I don't think there's an easy way this guy," Arthur grunts. "I just threatened his people and his own daugther disavowed him and is begging for her people's safety. Like a sane ruler would."

Arthur looks over at the image of the floating fortress.

"He thinks he's invincible. I don't think he changes his mind until someone points out that ain't true."

Superman has posed:
"Right." Superman stares at the screen, and his frown was obvious - he was going to have to do something he didn't want to do. "If we need to call in the big guns to go down there and deal with him, we will. I would hope that the threat of that happening would be enough, but from what you are saying, that won't be enough."

Superman sighs. Again. "Okay. Have we heard anything at all from the X-Men or the Avengers about dealing with this, or are we going to have to get involved? We could also call in SHIELD as well, see if they can help. Magneto is very powerful, so any attacks against him are going to take casualties."

Aquaman has posed:
"Probably," Arthur agrees. "Haven't heard from the other teams, was hoping the X-Men would've dealt with this by now so we don't have to."

"Shouldn't be me talking to them. Looks like Atlantis messing around in the US. But when it's time to make Magneto listen?" Arthur says with a grin. "I'm in."
