Walkman
Date of Scene: 28 August 2019
Location: Bushwick (Mutant Town), Brooklyn
Synopsis: Hammerhead's latest attempt to assisinate McCoy through a hitman named Walkman fails.
Cast of Characters: Hammerhead, Beast, Jubilee, Mina Harker, Ivory

Hammerhead has posed:
Byshwick in the afternoon is safer then it is during nightime, yet can still be just as dangerous. With mutant street gangs, violent hateful groups, and most recently, Hammerhead's presense, as Henry McCoy learned after a attempt on his life. Hammerhead has not quite given up on getting his revenge on McCoy yet and while in Metropolis, has releashed a contract on Henry McCoy's head for $50,000. The first person to take this contract was only known in the Underworld as Walkman, due to the fact that he still used a old walkman from the 80s for both entertainment and as a make-shift garrote. He is currently jogging through Bushwick wearing a red jumpsuit, pretending to be a man on a jog, while secretly scouting the area looking for McCoy His walkman is blaring out Eye of the Tiger as he does.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy told his friends he would not hide, and he would not give in to terroristic threats from criminal syndicates, Hammerhead's included. So he's making his usual rounds in Bushwick, in a suit, visiting with families victimized by violence in the neighborhood. The only difference people will notice, is that lately he's been wearing a new fedora when he goes out. At the moment he's walking down the street, holding Jubilee's shoulder as they talk. "So the father of this family was shot in one of the Hook gang fights. I've been checking in on them and making sure they can get by while they figure things out, and simply process the grief."

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee is keeping stride with Hank, dressed in a simple black, knee-length dress with cap sleeves, and black heels. Her hair is pulled up in a neat updo, held in place with a pair of red chopsticks crossed in an X pattern. She nods as Hank speaks, listening intently to the information he is giving her as they walk. She frowns and tilts her head, brushing his hand on her shoulder with her cheek. "It's terrible. This stuff has to be put to an end," she says quietly to him.

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina Harker is in Mutant Town because, truth be told, she got off at the wrong subway stop. Apparently, even half vampires can get lost in the city's subway system then get sidetracked. She's aareful and sticking to the sidewalks, before shaking her head and reaching up to adjust her beret. She's got her leather jacket zipped up halfway, and her hands are in her pockets as she walks. Mina's quietly taking in the big city. She's also well aware how dangerous Mutant town really can be. If the news is anything to go by

Ivory has posed:
Having put up a little popup store close to Mutant Town brought Ivory into the district to grab a lunch and something to drink, somewhat feeling at home for being pretty much non-binary, their clothes hiding any chance to actually see their gender and having to rely on guesswork or superacute senses. But now, she was walkning to get something to fill their stomach, and because they felt like it, they had opted to wear some different ears today. White cat ears poking from the white hair. Just to not look *too* out of place.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy keeps Jubilee close as they walk through the neighborhood. Which some would call bad, but Hank would say just has been through some tough times. The big blue man does stand out though, as he nods. "Fortunately THAT whole scuffle seems to have died down some. Though the contract on me seems to be still in effect."

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee nods. "Glad to hear it. I dunno about the one on me, I haven't heard anything in awhile in that regard. But I'm not too worried about some guy packin' a plasma rifle. Cause I'm always packin' plasma of my own." Her tone is a little defiant. She's seen too many people she cares about being put under one contract or another, and she's prepared. Lack of a contract has no bearing on being the target of retaliative violence, or even just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. She reaches up to adjust the antiqued brass goggles atop her head, placed just in front of the chopsticks. It's force of habit. Like someone forgetful who just wants to make sure she hasn't forgotten something.

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina keeps her head down and keeps on walking. She's not said anything but she adjusts the scarf with one hand then adjusts her beret before putting her hand back in the pocket. In said pocket? Things. Things like....a map. A map of the city. Her phone and so forth. Mina though is keeping her head up high. It's more of asign she won't bow her head. Or, maybe she just likes looking around, either way she's taking in Bushwick, Mutant Town. Plus, she's out here to see what's going on, too.

Ivory has posed:
Ivory meanwhile is just searching for a place to gra her lunch at the moment, their feet steering them around as they want, the eyes scanning the shop, the ears swiveling to pick up the sounds of Bushwick... but nowhere specific.

Hammerhead has posed:
Walkman skidded to a fault and grinned to himself when he say a blue ape-like figure walking with a young asian woman, that was McCoy alright. If he managed to kill that monster of a mutant, the $50,000 would be his. Now, to only find a way to separate him from the woman. Suddenly, he had an idea. He puts away his walkman and pulls out fake blood capsuls, something he used when he wanted to gain attention from do-gooder marks and lathered it all over his head. He then took a knife and cut up his jogging clothes. He then started to stagger run towards the two while saying," Help me! Those Purifier bastards are after my little nephew, and they beat me up when i tried to stop them.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy freezes when someone runs up, with blood. "Sir, which way are they?" he says, jogging right up toward Walkman. "Please have a seat, the more you run around the more... things might be worse. Jub, call 911." He starts looking around for where trouble is.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee takes out her phone and dials 911, as she looks the guy over for the source of the blood. But...there is none. Other than his head. And his hands. She gets a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach.

"Something isn't right," Jubilee says quietly into a comm on her wrist. There's blood, but he's not bleeding? It's all over his head, if he had a head injury, he'd be bleeding out. All over his hands, too. This guy ain't hurt..."

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina looks over and shakes her head again as she steps closer. Mina's just hanging back, watching what's going on. She's torn between somebody's hurt, oooh, blood.....and staying back and seeing wat happens.

Ivory has posed:
Ivory turns at the sound of somebody screaming for help, first backing away from him like others, then moving closer. "What? Where?" they ask the fake hurt assasin as they shorten the distance, the ears swiveling.

Hammerhead has posed:
Walkman nods at McCoy and sits down at brick-wall and clutches his bloody head. He pretneds to mutter something and tries to weakly lift his arm and point. On the outside, he may look lkie he is in pain, but he is grinning internally. Part of his scheme has suceeded. He places his head on his ear, secretly placing in a blue-tooth ear piece. Then, while covering his ear, starts to hum Amazing Grace, as if trying to comfort himself. In reality, he is signaling Hammer's men, who are hinding out in a alleyway inside of a black sedan. He wasn't stupid, if the strangalation attempt fails, he wanted to be sure he could still kill McCoy in a melee, which he knew he couldn't do himself. Suddenly, he sees Jubilee speaking into her wrist. Reallizing that his cover might be blow, he stands up and weakily limps up to Beast and grips his shoulder and points to an alley while saying, " Over there." Suddenly, he tries toi leap up on Beast's back and attempts to garrote him with the walkman, which was now blaring I Wanna Rock by Twisted Sister.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy is a man with advantages. He's big, he has superhuman reflexes, and he's hard to hurt. So, when walkman pounces on his broad back and attacks, it's not over. Not by a long shot. Hank staggers back, and SLAMS Walkman into the brick wall. Twice. Then grabs Walkman's arms, pulling them back far enough that he can cough "Jub... fireworks..."

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee doesn't hesitate. "Yeah, I'll be right back. Better send a second ambulance," she says toward the phone as the 911 Operator is trying to keep her on the line. She lifts her hands and fingerguns toward the jogger, firing tiny plasma sparks in rapid succession, so much so that they form a chain of sorts, and with a twist of her hands sideways, they begin to encircle the jogger's head.

"Lemme help you be a little more convincin', Fella." And with a drawing back motion like reins on a horse, the chains of plasma tighten around the jogger's head. If he's flammable, he's about to get grill marks. Like a Whopper, only less tasty.

Mina Harker has posed:
It's not that Mina's not afraid. She's worrried....but having faced down a vampire, Mina's not that worried. She does though look around for a moment then looks for a way out. She's got one trick up her sleeve. Alright, normally she doesn't use her bats in daylight....but....this is bad. She shifts into a swarm of bats. She's sent one to scout the area, the rest of the swarm circling over the area, as if just circling around, waiting, then....the bats join in with a single lunge at McCoy, more protectively than anythhing as if circling protectively. Then the entire swarm resumes circling above them both, like some sort of bat guardians.

Ivory has posed:
Ivory Valentine isn't a huge fighter, but as Hammerhead starts to try to strangle Hank, she can't help but help. They dash forward, jumping up to try to give the assasin a strike... but Hank's a bit faster ripping him forward, so they only hit the leg at best, giving their normal human level strike to the ankle.

Hammerhead has posed:
The Jogger grunts in pain when he gets slammed into the wall twice, but dosen't let go. Suddenly, the plasma chains wraps around Walkman's head. He screams in pain as the plasma burns his face, not noticing the bats swarming them both. Walkman falls to the ground, clutching his face and screaming in pain, his face burned like it was pressed up against a grill. Suddenly, you hear a screaching sound and see a black sedan pull out. The door unrolls and reveals a grinning Samoan man wearing a pin-stripped suit, the very same McCoy beat up in the alley, apprently he was bailed out of jail. The man leans out the window, weilding a tommy gun, and says to McCoy," This is payback for the alleyway you bastard. The Samon then starts to unload his tommy gun at McCoy and the other heroes in the area. Meanwhile, the beaten-up Hitman crawls his way to the car and climbs into the back seat. Once the gun runs out of bullets, the car speeds off.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy tries to duck, completely oblivious to bats and approaching people, between the airway issues and whatnot. So the bullets do hit him, taking three to the chest, falling back, and landing on his rump against the wall. Crying out inpain at the shots.

Jubilee has posed:
Jubilee is too far from the car to effectively engulf it, and if she tried, it would definitely just ignore her and drive away, so she turns to Hank and kneels. "Ambulances on their way, Hank, are you okay? Are you hearing me here?"

Mina Harker has posed:
THe bats notice the sedan and as one, go to check it out. Which involves diving on it, and bats are scaryy creatures. The bats are aiming to block the windshield and windows. And...if possible, if there's an open window or door, get inside and scare the ever loving hell outta whoever's in there. An entire swarm of bats. Well minus two that are circling McCoy again. It's as if whoever the bats belong to is ltting them know they're not really going anywhere. Yet.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy looks up at Jub, eyes flicking open. "Vest worked... still hurts like a..." and he passes out. He may have SOME regeneration but he's not pain-free like certain mutants are. That hurt and it's overloading his hyperfine senses a great deal.

Ivory has posed:
As the bullets start to fly, Ivory has had brought herself to the target zone by her silly action, screamung up as somethign hot rips their shirt apart and sending them to the ground, the arm bleeding as they roll on the floor.

Hammerhead has posed:
nce the bat lands on the windshield, the gangster driving, a thin man wearing wire-rimmed glasses swears and tries to use the windshield wipers to get rid of it. One of the other gangsters, a Korean man rolls down the window in order to get rid of the bat, but lets another one in. As it flies around, the gangsters panick and try to swat at it. Suddenly the driver loses control and crashes into a light post. Three of the gangsters climb out of the car and scatter in diffrent directions. Walkman than crawls out of the car and starts to limp away from the crash, clutching his now burnt face and his leg.

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina was going to return to herself....then the gangster grabs a gun. That's cue for the swarm to make a dive at the pistol waving gangster as Mina returns to herself and goes for her daggers. She may not fight often. But...she doesn't think that guy with a gun should get away. Plus. Mina's got the whole turning into bats trick up her sleeve if she's really needing that. Screw daggers, She's got the nearest bit of street furniture in hand and is setting up to whack the pistol waving guy with it.

Hammerhead has posed:
Walkman, who at this point grabbed a pistol from a unconcious gangster to help cover his escape, get swarmed by bats. He swears and swats at them. Once Mina appears wit the piece of furniture. Walkman's eyes bug out and he tosses the pistol at Mina's face and tries to flee, staggering as he runs due to his wounded leg.

Mina Harker has posed:
Given she's half vampire and her reflexes are well into the superhuman range, Mina dodges the pistol. She's got street furniture. No need to risk shooting herself...and she's fast, too. She can keep up with a galloping horse in short bursts. Instead...she leaps. She leaps and lands a few paces in front of Walkman. "Stop" she says. Then her reflexes kick in and she's swinging for the fences. Given she's got a bit of pipe in her hand, it's pretty much a bat...and she's able to break bones with her blows. Add that to her pipe...and she's just a little dangerous. Understatement of the week.

Hammerhead has posed:
Walkman's eyes bug out once Mina lands in front of him. Her hit laands directly in Walkman's head. A sickening crack is heard as Walkman fall down to the ground, unconcious.

Mina Harker has posed:
Dropping the pipe after going to town on Walkman's head..d, Mina leaps over to near where Ivory is. She looks to Ivory, dropping the pipe and taking off her jacket. She digs through the pocket. Fortunately she's fed recently. Fortunately as well, Mina's got her shirt on, and rips off the sleeve, handing it over to be a makeshift bandage or torniquet. it's a full length shirt sleeve too, Mina's bent over Ivory, "Are you okay?" she asks, looking worried.

Ivory has posed:
Ivory Valentine winces as they slowly try to figure out what happened when the arm starte dto feel on fire, wincing whenever they poke around the wound to try to figure out the extent of the damage. "I... It hurts a lot... e,... Mina?" they ask, looking confused at the half vampire, having not expected them - and they had opted to wear their ears up top to try to blend in. Cat ears...

Mina Harker has posed:
Mina holds out the sleeve again. "Take this. Take this and see if it helps you" Mina says gently. She's worried, though she's holding out the sleeve then bends more over Ivory. "Push it against your shoulder" she says gently.
