Synopsis: Walking the Silkie in Central Park, Kory encountered a nice lady calling herself
Cast of Characters: Starfire, Sersi

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r is in Central Park. Walking her... ... ... pet. Her pet... worm? The Silkie is skittering along, and Kory has a grocery bag hanging from her other hand that the Silkie keeps looking back. "Hey - you need your exercise, little bumgorf," she coooos as the Silkie keeps skittering along, wearing a yellow polka-dot harness and Kory's simply floatnig above, letting the Silkie plot his own course. "Get to the bench and it'll be tuna time," she coooos as she giggles at her pet's antics.

Sersi has posed:
Central Park is a superb place for a run, a mugging, an alien encounter. The green lungs of New York City thrum with activity regardless of the hour, and the black-haired young woman making her way from the southern side where less fancy real estate abuts onto Fifth Avenue doesn't seem the sort for muggings. She might be a tempting target on her own, but she carries a shawarma wrapped in crinkly paper from one of the many food trucks thronging part of the city. Floating on the heady scent of spiced meat that taunts her atrociously, Sersi smiles as she overtakes a couple trying to catch some kind of digital monster on their smartphones and slips around a parent wrangling a tired, crabby toddler into their stroller. A floating woman is someone pretty obvious even to the distracted mind, and she stops for a moment to take in this act of walking a worm. Silkie the Silkworm? Whatever the case is, she shields her brow with the hand not holding a sandwich (fortunately), measuring one of the world's less odd examples of activity. "How is it up there?" she asks merrily.

Starfire has posed:
Alien encounter it is. She smiles as she lands on the ground and picks up the Silkie. "How is what up here?" she asks, tilting her head as she looks up. "Oh. YOu meant me. Floating a few feet off the ground." She plops down on a sofa and cracks open a can of tuna that she has with her, offering it to the Silkie. "I'm Koriand'r."

Sersi has posed:
Alien encounter on both fronts, in a sense. Seeing Koriand'r descend, the young woman lifts her radiant green eyes and shakes her head. "I hope you didn't take that as a sign to drop down. Far be it from me to complain about anyone enjoying the heights," she chimes in with a sunny glimmer of delight rimming every sound. Italian, that accent, or close enough to be familiar perhaps. "You were higher up, it was meant to be a joke." Sersi tucks a strand of her night-black hair behind her ear, the shimmering sapphire highlights captured against her bangs. She watches the Silkie eat the tuna with mild interest and none of the horror naturally seen by confused twenty-somethings confronted by peculiar behaviour. Her shawarma is held close to her, lightly grasped. "A pleasure to meet you, Koriand'r. Zara." She beams a smile fit to light up half of Queens.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r smiles. "I was only... like..." She looks at the leash as the Silkie is slurping down tuna. "Zara is a pretty name." She smiles as she sits down. "This little darling is one of the last of his kind, from my homeworld which is now... uninhabitable." She sighs. "I try to keep him happy. But there's only so much I can do." She smiles. "Care to sit with me? Also, what is that item you're holding? It smells delicious."

Sersi has posed:
That's one happy creature having his meal, and so Sersi cannot help herself: she dips her head and takes a small bite of her own shawarma. The fragrant bread combined with the heady tzatziki sauce and the thin-sliced beef is enough to leave a little ripple of delight running through her body. Showing those exquisite manners, she turns her focus back to the Silkie and Koriand'r. "What is he? I don't believe I have ever seen anything like that, though it's not as though New York has a Natural History and Science Museum for anything off-world. Come to think, that /would/ be something to capitalize upon." An idea, no doubt someone is trying to fund it already. "He seems very content eating that fish. Is there something else he needs?" She saunters over to the bench and accepts the offer, pivoting and dropping with a discernible ease that comes with being comfortable in her own skin. "This lovely thing is a wrapped sandwich called shawarma. The meat was made on a spit, and grilled. The vegetables were grilled along with it. Rather too much for me, if you would like half. They've sliced it in two, and I certainly don't need it all."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "I'd love to try it," she states as she looks for a wallet to get out some cash to pay - she isn't a freeloader. "I don't remember what his kind is called." The Silkie finishes the can of tuna (including the can itself) and curls up to sleep against her side. "He's just a pet - not an intelligent being. I think. Sometimes he comes up with the strangest things at time." She sighs softly. "Sorry - just a bit on edge lately." She glances up at the sky, then back to the Silkie.

Sersi has posed:
Sersi works the waxed paper open and folds it in twain, protecting the bottom half of the shawarma from dripping or spilling out its contents. Thus, she proffers this to Koriand'r with a slight flourish of her wrist being rolled. Soon as the wallet comes out, she shakes her head. "Thank you, but consider this a gift. It's better to break bread with someone that alone," she adds, all kinds of sunshine dancing on her voice. The Silkie eating the can -- that's new. But neither is she the sort, apparently, to startle. "He seems content. I wish you luck as a pet owner. I find a cat challenging enough, sometimes." Her shoulders lightly lifted in a playful shrug, she settles in. "You've said that something made your home difficult. Are you concerned the trouble followed you here, or is this more on the scale of relationship problems? You're free to tell me to leave you well enough alone and we can talk about something more neutral."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r sighs softly. "Let's just say that I'm expecting trouble to come find me. Best to leave it at that." She takes a bite. "Mmmmmm... this is delicious. Only thing that'd make it better is..." She then pulls a small yellow bottle out of her purse - and squirts mustard on it. She takes another bite. "Much better..." she mumbles.

Sersi has posed:
Sersi doesn't press the issue, for the inquiry has been made and the escape route proffered in conversation. Rather better to focus on the shawarma, which she nibbles on around the edges. Soft bread, fluffy as a cloud, swaddles the overly stuffed contents that deserve a plate to be really appreciated. Though the yellow bottle gets a stifled chuckle. "Isn't it delicious? There are food trucks down the way," a nod in the southwesterly direction. "The Shawarma Empire is one I like. The other one I've seen, Wraps on Wheels, is decent as well."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "I'll have to investigate. Normally I enjoy things like hot dogs or pizza." She hmmmmms as she takes a chug of that smae mustard bottle and then puts it away. "I'm glad, at least, that there are some food items that I like that are also good for humans. Not everyhting is that way."

Sersi has posed:
"Really?" Curious, Sersi lifts her black gullwing brows. Her mouth rounds softly as she takes in this choice morsel of news. "Surely there are plants or things that grew off of Earth that you miss. Or do you find sustenance from something other than what we consider food?" Her smile brightens at the mention of pizza. "I have to agree. A good deep dish pizza with a properly warm crust and simple ingredients is the best. I'm partial myself to margherita pizzas but mozzarella is practically a godsend."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "Let's put it this way. This," she states, pulling the mustard bottle out. "Is sweet to me. As is beer." She then wrinkles her nose. "Stuff like Coca-cola or whatever other 'sodads' there are horribly bitter. Some things are equally tasty - some things aren't." She shrugs. "Last time I tried cooking for my friends, two of them ended up throwing up."

Sersi has posed:
"Beer is sweet to you? That's rather a blessing in disguise considering it's bread in a bottle to most people. Especially poorly made beer." Sersi wrinkles her nose and brightens into another sunny smile, her entire disposition practically radiating an easygoing affinity for the world. Or it's that effortless sort of grace exuded by certain people, just an element there. "Soda isn't often my preference other, and I wonder if it's the carbonation or the syrup in it. I tend to mix different things together to see if they are palatable and go from there. Naturally that works out sometimes, and others do not, though I can hardly complain either way."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "Yeah - it's probably why a lot of these humans are so overweight. They imbibe too much sugar which is so not good for them." She shrugs. "But I do my best to keep in shape - I should go train to make sure I'm ready in case... something happens." She smiles as she gives you a quick hug and takes off with the Silkie.
