Synopsis: Pietro and Karen go out on a date. Surprisingly, they are already planning a second!
Cast of Characters: Quicksilver, Power Girl

Quicksilver has posed:
So, at some point after Pietro and Karen worked together to take down the Juggernaut and stop his bank robbering spree, Pietro mustered up some courage and he had asked the superheroine out on a date. Despite Pietro's own fears that she would absolutely say no or laugh in his face or do anything that would essentially be a tremendous no, she said yes!

An elated Pietro picked the time and place: Right here in Washington Sq. Park, 7pm on a Monday.

Why monday? Because it was such a hated day that maybe they would both manage to cheer each other up after their respective tasks/duties had been finished. But Pietro waits there, near a bench, wearing a black polo thats loose at the waist with blue jeans and white shoes. He made sure he smelled nice, his hair was at least presentable, and now...now he waits to see if she'd show up.

She might be fighting a monster or something, because he understands the chaos of a hero life, but for a guy with super speed? He's really making an effort. But he decided that she was worth it. Now..the clock ticks on.

Power Girl has posed:
Unlike Pietro, Karen Starr's identity as Power Girl wasn't public. Hell, technically speaking it itself is a screen to her true identity as Kara Zor-L after the difficulties of extra-diamensional travel. To that regard, when she came walking into the park she was dressed in a simple pair of black jeans, a white tank-top and a deep blue leather jacket around her shoulders. Her shoulder-length hair was down, hanging down similarly to how she styled it as Power Girl to make her slightly more recognizable as she headed to the meeting place.

Technically she wasn't without her own super speed...but her own approach was frustratingly mundane in pace.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro stood there for a moment, before he turned his head at the sound of footsteps. When he lays his eyes on her, even if it wasn't like she was dressed to rule the red carpet, she was still the most wonderous sight he had ever seen. He moves away from where he was standing to meet her half-way.

If she was doing things like reading his heartbeat and checking his body language, Pietro's heart was beating fast. But he wasn't scared, more like he was nervous. Like he really would like this date to go well, so he can see her more often. "Hey." He greets her and he lets his eyes wander over her, but its not in a perveted manner. "You look..." he looks her in the eyes now.

"Wow. I don't know if beautiful really justifies. How was your day?" yep, thats how Pietro intends to start this at least. Hands to himself, letting it rest at his sides, and not imposing. But rather curious as to -her-.

Power Girl has posed:
There's a laugh, a dismissive wave of her hand in thanks and a shake of her head. Sure she was confident enough in her physical appearance, after all her costume wasn't the most modest, but even so there was a slight embarassment in the real world. Power Girl was as much an image and an icon as Superman. Karen Starr was just another person...

She could hear his heartbeat, but she had also heard it when he ran going far faster than a normal human being, she could probably use it to pick out him from a crowd if he -had- been the sort to more subtle with his identity after all... but she was trying to make a point of -not- listening to such things. It was harder to take things at face value if you were certain something was probably a lie.

"It was alright," she offers with a little laugh and waving her hands. "Mostly meetings, pitches and reviews...not quite as glamourous as stuff like our last meeting. But even I have a day job."

Her gaze flicks over him as she crosses her arms under the midriff while they move to walk. "I suppose I should ask you the same, but... I'd be suprised if your answers were the same. Maybe the better question is where we're going?"

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro knew who she was, and he felt kind of dumb complimenting her appearance when most photographers and paparazzi seem to -only- pay attention to her appearance. Specifically her chest, but the fact that Pietro hasn't even looked there might suggest that he might be different than others who have found enough courage to try and take her on a date.

But before long, Pietro remembers that he's a gentleman, and offers Karen his arm for her to loop her arm through, should she so wish. "I'm glad your day was alright." He doesn't seem bothered by the laugh and dismissal wave of his compliment towards her beauty, but rather he smiled. He felt humbled that she thought he was funny at all. Sure, he might be a lovestruck fool, but he's more interested in knowing her heart, character, and mind than anything that her physical form might offer.

"I wouldn't know. I'm not much of a businessman. Hard to kinda move about when everyone else is so -slow-." Of course, Pietro means slow as in speed-slow. Not slow as in like...stupid. "Heh, well, my answers are similar. I'm not in a board room, but I did start working more hours at a delivery service. Figure its a good job for someone with super speed. I get paid well too." It must be really hard for the son of Magneto to get a job thanks to mutant fear and disassocaition. "As for where we're going, well...I figure I would walk with you around the park, then wine and dine you if you were interested." Apparently Pietro is playing it careful. After all, he doesn't want her suddenly shoving him through a building because he took a step too far.

Power Girl has posed:
Karen does take the arm, walking alongside Pietro with a little chuckle at the somewhat traditional gesture. It was kinda sweet in its own way after all. The Kryptonian tilts her head as she listens, but she gives a little laugh despite herself at the image. "Perhaps you should try a pizza delivery job, some sort of celebrity deal...or running shoes?" she comments even if it was said in humor.

The answer of the walking and a meal, it's quite simply met with a shrug of her shoulders and an expression of faux-consideraton. "I think I can work with that."

Quicksilver has posed:
"I thought about that, but then I asked myself: Do I really want horrible tips?" Pietro muses to himself humorously to Karen as he finds himself surprised that she actually took his arm. He was muscular, but he wasn't even close to as strong as she was. But Pietro honestly didn't mind it. He liked her enough that stuff like that didn't bother him.

"Okay, good." Pietro seems to agree when Karen agrees to go out to dinner with him, should this part of the date go well. "So, tell me about yourself? What do you like to do for fun? Like...you wake up one day, you're bored, what's one thing that you'd rather do more than anything else in the world?" yes, he's trying to learn more about Karen. He already knows she's kryptonian, because Power Girl is publically known as a cousin of Superman.

Power Girl has posed:
"Amazon then? The postal service, not the women." she offers, again seemingly ammused by the wordplay itself of her own comment. She had taken his arm, a perhaps more traditional thing that comes from a classic 'protecter' role. A little moot when she could shake the earth with a stomp if she wished, but that hardly bothered her. It didn't matter if she was stronger than him, it hardly made the experience less enjoyable.

Walking alongside the speedster, the question he poses earns a moment of thought, a chewing of her lip. "Well that depends," she laughs after a moment. "Like this? A movie, swimming, a good meal..." A pause, she glances before looking about their immediate surroundings. "In the other 'outfit'? When things are calm? I like to take to the sky...soar between the clouds or up above the world, race across an ocean..."

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro laughs a little bit. "Maybe. Though I think they're doing that drone thing now, even if I could just outrun every drone they sent out. I kinda like being a delivery guy. Most people are really nice about it since I get them their product early because I do it too fast." He chuckles. He might not be the protector, but he was a speedster.

Karen had enough chin for the both of them.

"You like swimming? Well...maybe I can knock out all three of these. How about..." Pietro ponders. "We walk for a bit longer, then I take you out to eat, maybe see a movie, and finish the night off with some swimming? That way, I manage to have the least chance of somehow screwing everything up." Pietro teases her, but at the same time, he was serious. He wanted to spoil her tonight.

When she talks about flying high into the sky in her other persona, Pietro nods. "I always wondered what that must feel like. It must feel so...free, you know? Like nothing in the world could hold you down."

Power Girl has posed:
"Improvising on the spot huh?" Karen questions lightly as they work and then giving a little giggle despite herself. "I guess your speed doesn't mean you're sitting there doing in-depth planning, huh?" A tilt of her head, the kryptonian does pause in a step and glances towards Pietro's face. "But the big question is, what about you?"

Her strides having stalled but with her arm still linked automatically draws him towards her and allowing a face to face regard. "It's not just me. What about you Pietro? What is it that you wake up wanting to do more than anything else? You don't have to pretend or play 'normal'. What does -Quicksilver- do?"

Quicksilver has posed:
As Pietro walks and she questions his improvisation, Pietro shrugs. "I tend to be much better with that." But then she stops right in her steps, and since she does, Pietro is yanked back, but by the time he corrects himself, he's face to face with the blonde superhero. Chest to chest, almost nose to nose as she looks so deeply into his eyes its like she's trying to see his very soul.

"About me?" Pietro asks her before she goes in deeper. What does Quicksilver want to do. He seems to blush for a moment at hos close they are, but they are face to face, and this is probably what will help Karen decide something about him. "The answer that may seem the most obvious is run. I love to run, but honestly? Its not something I would do just for the sake of doing. Though sometimes, it can be really fun. If I had something to do...maybe I wouldn't hangout with my twin." he loves to do that too. "But what I'd -really- like to do?" He looks at her then. "I think it'd be a tie between spending time with you or doing some sculpting." Pietro admits.

Wiat.

Sculpting?!

Power Girl has posed:
"Smooth," she grins, tilting her head to the side and then giving a little laugh. The closeness and the contact that was simply inavoidable with her own physical profile. Whatever her staring might actually percieving, she eventually steps backwards to allow him a moment of respite from the touching before folding her own arms under her bust. "Obvious? Sure. But that doesn't make it silly in the slightest."

Sculpting has her blinking, tilting her head to the side and giving a little smile. "Really? What sort of things are you sculpting?" A pause, she tilts her head to the side. "Well, you'll have to show me some time."

Quicksilver has posed:
"Smooth? Me? Nah." Pietro says to her with a grin, but when she takes a step back, Pietro almost frowns, apparently he was rather liking the closeness. "You don't have to-" But then she's telling him about her thoughts on the obvious. Its when she asks him about sculpting that he smiles.

"Sculpting people and animals are really fun. Trying to get every fine detail down? Well, its really exciting and its challenging enough that I wan't to keep doing it. Its fun. Besides, it helps me with my patience. Sometimes I...can lose it." something Karen might share with the mutant speedster.

"If you want to see sometime, maybe that could be a second, yes?" As in a second date. Maybe Pietro is trying to gauge if Karen is enjoying herself.

Power Girl has posed:
She gestures to move, for them to continue walking as they talk now that the closeness had drawn out to a more social scene. "I..yeah," she murmers, nodding her head with a slight frown. She knew what it was to lose it, especially with her own issues. To live in a world where you have to keep a lid on things all the time was frustrating enough, but she wasn't the same as her famous cousin. She didn't have that monk-like resolve that Kal-El holds.

His offer of sculpting, she's left to shrug her shoulders lightly and smile. "Maybe," she says lightly, "if you let -me- do the restaurant side next time. I might suprise you."

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro looks at Karen as she falls into a deep silence. Though as they walk, Pietro takes a huge risk. Karen might feel her fingers being slowly entwined with Pietro's own. He tries to hold her hand while they walk. But if she wanted to, she could tear her hand away so forcefully that Pietro could do nothing about it. When she offers that she'll accept the second date, but ONLY if she's the one who picks out the restaurant side of things next time. Pietro smirks, before he winks. "Deal. I'll gladly leave that part to you...I tend to do the worst on that front anyway." He chuckles nervously. "So...speaking of which, it begs the question: hungry?"

Power Girl has posed:
It was a risk, after all he'd seen those same hands heft a bank vault and floor a supposedly unstoppable Juggernaut...but it simply earns a blink and then the slightest movement that might have been a shrug before her fingers entangle with his. Truthfully, it was likely strange to consider what he'd expected. Her skin wasn't super-hardened nor did it -feel- bulletproof; it just felt like normal human skin...at least till it was put to the test. Instead, she's left with the pair of them looking like any other couple out for a walk. Aside from the fact anyone recognizing either of them was probably going to be a mess.

"Starving," she answers with a grin, gesturing with her head. "I'm at the point of 'skip the movie and go get some food' personally...besides, I get the feeling sitting in a crowded cinema isn't really your 'speed'."

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro is shocked for a moment, But Pietro smiles at her as they hold hands and just look like any other couple waking through the park. Given, they look like a very -attractive- couple, but a couple nonetheless. Karen makes him smile though. "I hear you. Wanted to hold out so nothing looked rushed." Pietro says with a sigh of absolute -relief-!

"I made a reservation at that fancy steakhouse up the street. Charleston?s. Fine wines, awesome steaks." Pietro says to her. But the comment about the theater?

Well.

"Honestly? The company is so good I wouldn't mind it. I'm more concerned that we'd get recognized and give the news something to write about."

Power Girl has posed:
"Honestly?" Karen speaks, gesturing to herself with her free hand. "I'm...not great at normal most of the time. Even my 'normal' identity is a little different to most. So the fact I'm not having to hide the other stuff is kinda refreshing. Lets just go for the meal, see how that goes and...see if we can get through it without police sirens or costumed maniacs getting in the way."

A pause, the thought clearly serves to amuse her. "At least I'd be able to skip the usual 'make an excuse' part of all of that. Seconds count, right?"

Onwards to Charleston's it was, although neither of them really had a car to blend in with. Hopefully the walk was short or a cab was probably in order, entertaining as the image might be.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro smirks just a little bit. "I often find that the best people, heart and mind, are the furthest from normal possible. Imagine how boring life would be if everybody was good at normal." Pietro gives her hand an affectionate squeeze. He still can't believe she feels like a regular person...even though she is definitely not!

"True. At least I know. I mean, after all, you could probably hear something coming a mile away. We could always dine and dash, worst case scenario." he joked with her. Truly, the restaurant is not far away at all. Literally just down the sidewalk and to the left. "If it was farther, I would've called a cab but...I figure we are both a bit beyond that. Would've been funny though."

When they arrive at the restaurant, Pietro opens the door for them like a gentleman, and they are sat down in s romantic-looking corner booth with candle-light and everything.
