Iceman has posed:
The lake as grown quietly still over the past few days as more and more cool blows down from the north and off the ocean near by. The sun's orange and blue sky gently reflect off the clouds and off the mirror like lake below. A single man has made his way down as if to say good bye to the lake for the year, despite the fact he'll certainly be down here the most throughout the rest of the year, but at least he wont be under the surface.

At the moment, he's wearing a pair of swim trunks and is seated on the edge of the dock, making sure his legs dont disturb the surface. Not yet. Bobby runs a hand through his hair as he starts to decompress from the boring and tedious Monday he just truged through, despite things starting to really go well for him.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna came down to the lakeside at Bobby's invitation, wearing a black one-piece swimsuit, a floppy sunhat, and an oversized sweat-shirt to ward off the chill she'll likely feel if she actually gets into the water. Still, despite the promise that she'd come and //relax//, she was typing away on her phone. Glued to whatever news she was reading about from whatever message had hit her inbox. She barely glanced up from the device as she walked on flip-flops to the dock and arrived to where Bobby was by sheer magnetic navigation.

"Hey Bobby, sorry, I've gotta handle this. My father is on his way back to Genosha and the Council is rather unhappy. They're lighting up my emails with complaints, as usual.." She sighed, and clicked the phone off after typing away a few more words and hitting send.

Iceman has posed:
"You know, it's like they don't expect him to be king." Bobby says with a shrug of his shoulders. Yeah, it's something he has to admit, Magneto is a king, and it causes the X-man to shake his head, "I mean, I'm still confused on how he let something like that council occur while he was in charge." Bobby says, though it's true he's never really sat down with Erik and discussed politics before.

Bobby lets out a breath through his nose to recenter himself, "Anyways, you know the rules of the lake, no phone, we're both here to relax and decompress. Not talk about your dad's geriatric shuffling across the globe." Bobby chuckles.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna settled down on the edge of the dock to consider the lake's view and to watch the sunlight reflect off the waters before them. "The Council was made up of the various powers that be on Genosha that existed after the fall of the former government. They know the people, and they represent the various factions that exist there. Not all of them like or approve of my father. Some of them can't stand me. It's a constant struggle." She exhaled, "But they fear my father enough to not argue outright with him." She leaned her head back, closing her eyes as she set the phone down beside her.

"Sorry Bobby, I just got back from his Fortress and lifting massive boxcars of goods and things around so he could get a move on to return to Genosha."

Iceman has posed:
"That's okay, just reminding you who wears the pants around here." Bobby says in that tone of voice that is his obvious sarcasm. Yeah, she is the boss, but at least there's some mutual repsect between the two. Hopefully.

Robert looks back out to the water, breaking his gaze off Lorna and letting it go back to linger on the painting esque view of nature. "I hope we get many more summers that end like this." Instead of the way this summer was headed is left unsaid, but his drop in volume does bring on a more somber thought. "Thanks for coming out, I know you're likely tired as possible."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna tilted her head back, her hands propping her frame up as she dipped her legs into the water and idly kicked them back and forth. She closed her eyes, her shoulders rising and falling with a soft sigh. She bit her tongue on what her father had to say regarding her giving Bobby a second chance, saving that for another time as Bobby continued onward in the conversation.

"I'm exhausted, but that's pretty standard for me.." She smiled weakly, and glanced back over her shoulder at Bobby.

"I hope we have several more summers like this, right now. With you and me and just the lakeside. It's so quiet..."

Iceman has posed:
"Maybe we need to get you a better bed." Bobby teases as he looks down at the weak ripples coming off Lorna's legs and he decides he might as well too, droping his toes and feet into the cool-ish water.

"I think we will. I mean I'm planning on it." Bobby says with a grin from ear to ear as he lays back, all the way against the wood and turns his cocky smirk to aim directly at Lorna. "Don't read too much into what I just said." He smirks and sticks his tongue out.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna cracked an eye open as Bobby spoke of her having a better bed. "Pretty sure that's not the problem." She murmured, arching a green eyebrow upward. Still as Bobby settled down beside her, Lorna shifted her frame about and leaned against him. Her head making to settle on his shoulder as he dipped his feet into the lake like she had done.

"Hey, I won't look into it too much. Promise. Besides, we've been friends for years and we've had some good times too. And that's something that will always be there. Not everyone can say that." She pursed her lips, her mind drifting to the issues Wanda had dealt with regarding Josh.

"I'm not the kind of girl to fall hard and fast. Never been me."

Iceman has posed:
"I know you're not, you've always had your mind pulled in different directions, your focus in even more." Bobby says with a smirk as he moves his arm so she can properly use him as a pillow on the wooden platform.

Moving his hand to cross his chest he reaches out to take hers in it and just hold hers, the calm summer sounds soothing any sleep out of the two. It's a safe place, relax, enjoy. "But we've seen your family, you have the ability, at least, genetically, because that's how those things work." Bobby smirks.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna happily leaned against Bobby on the dock, using him as much as a pillow as for the need to simply find comfort in being held close by someone she trusted. It was nice, and she decided that she'd missed having that particular nicety in her life for the past several years. She let him twine his hand with her own and she sighed softly, her eyes shutting as she seemed content to drift off right there on the lakeside.

Though as Bobby continued, she cracked her eye open and looked at him. "That is not how those things work. I would make a greater argument that nurture holds greater influences than just my genes, Bobby." She drawled.

Iceman has posed:
"We don't really know that. Now do we." Bobby says, obviously egging Lorna on as he doesn't move and opens his eyes upwards to view the sky in this perfect moment, he takes in a breath as he brushes his thumb against Lorna's palm idly, "I still think it's within you to fall in love, really and truely, but I do worry you're willing to block that part of you off to fulfill your duties." Bobby notes.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shifted her weight forward, putting more of her frame on Bobby's as she leaned forward on him to be able to look at his expression fully and rather just watch the angle of his chin as he spoke. Her grip remained in his, her other hand supporting most of her weight so she could lean on him. "I would say I was raised by the Professor and the school here to love and trust others. To be more open about my feelings and how I express them. But that's hardly what's happened in my family life, is it? Sure my father had an affair with my mother, but that's hardly love, is it?" She hitched an eyebrow upward.

And then the rest of Bobby's words hit home and her smile faded as she glanced down and away from him. "I've already warned you about what it means to be dating me. If we ever got serious that would be another conversation.. and another string of issues..."

Iceman has posed:
"And you know I'm too care free to let any of that worry or scare me. Face it Lorna, you're stuck with me, and I'm more than happy to go along for the ride." The ice man wiggles his eyebrows as Lorna rolls up on him slightly and he smirks, still dancing with her fingers and hand, savoring the softness of her skin. "And don't think I don't have my own issues anyways... like... uh... I alawys leave the seat up. Even after the bad bathroom." He teases.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna tilted her head to the side as she peered down at Bobby and his joking, lightheartedness. It wasn't what Lorna usually dealt with in Genosha, normally everything there was life threatening and utterly serious all the time. Threats. Trade deals. Duty to the people. And so on. It was a never ending cycle of a million and one things to keep her mind jumping from one crisis to the next.

Bobby took everything in stride.

"Even if we did get serious and people started to name foods after you? And painted your likeness on plates and matching cups? It's what happened for the royal wedding in England. People went crazy. Can you //imagine// the kinds of weird stuff that might happen?" She teased right back, abandoning the darker paths of her mind and where those thoughts led.

Iceman has posed:
"Yeah, I'd have stickers of my face put on the butt of my statue in the square. Sounds pretty great to me, cause then I could go down and take photos of me, next to my stickers on my butt." Bobby says, drifting a trillion miles away as he says this and smiles softly as he does so. "Lorna, I want a statue." He says as if she didn't hear what he just said. Yeah, he's the goofy caboose to her crazy train. Or so he'd like to think.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna patted Bobby's cheek gently with her free hand, rolling her eyes as she settled back down beside him. "I'm not building you a statue. That one is on you sweetheart." She drawled lightly, recovering her comfortably position beside Bobby. He'd successfully distracted her from her thoughts for once, and she seemed content to let him have the win over her on it.

At least this time.

"Besides, I'm pretty sure my father is the only one that gets statues on Genosha."

Iceman has posed:
"You keep saying he could keel over any day." Bobby reminds Lorna, likely of everything he just helped her forget. "I'll be sure to build myself an ice statue of, myself, and with you being taller than me of course, as you're the important one here. For SOME reason." Bobby says, rolling his own eyes and then turning his head to look back to Lorna and he frowns. "I- I think we need to go inside miss Dane." Bobby says with a frown before he starts to push up. "I think I just got some splinters in the back of my head."
