Date of Scene: 19 September 2019
Location: Angel Grove Youth Centre, Angel Grove
Synopsis: Kimberly and Tommy make it a date.
Cast of Characters: Pink Ranger, Green Ranger

Pink Ranger has posed:
Some kids have no place to go after school. In Angel Grove, though, the youth center is a major hub, whether it's for exercise, classes, or just a place to hang out. And if Kimberly isn't teaching a class, she's taking one, hanging out with her friends, or getting in some practice on the mats. Today she's on the balance beam, practicing her routine for the weekend's meet. Backflip, backflip, cartwheel, straighten...and try not to lose your balance.

Green Ranger has posed:
Tommy is off in the corner in the area usually used by Jason and others to teach various forms of self-defense. He's dressed in work-out shorts and a sleeveless green shirt. He is working with one of those standing martial arts dummies with the various pegs sticking out of it. A few beads of sweat mark him as he works at it. Eventually he stops and makes his way over to where his towel is draped over a chair. He wipes at his arms and face as he glances over, smiling a bit to himself as he watches Kim.

Pink Ranger has posed:
Kim's foot dips along the side of the beam, then down to one knee, followed by another series of poses and balancing. A hop back up onto the beam, then it's time for the hard part: the dismount. She takes a deep breath, arches her back, then skip-jumps into a series of cartwheels and flips that ends in launching herself off of the end of the beam to spin through the air and...

Stumble three steps backwards before falling onto her rear.

She winces, staying where she's at on the mat for a moment. Well. That didn't work out as planned.

Green Ranger has posed:
He watches the fall and winces. He sets the towel down and then makes his way over to her. He grins and offers a hand. "You doing okay down there?," he teases lightly. "All that math homework getting to you?" Tommy winks down at her. If she takes his hand he hauls her back to her feet.

"You were looking pretty great up there, as usual."

Pink Ranger has posed:
Kimberly takes his hand, smile rueful as she pulls herself up. If he's looking, he may notice that she's still wearing the necklace he gave her. "Yeah, clearly I underestimated the rotation there. Needed more geometry," she chuckles, looking away self-consciously. "But hey, at least there wasn't anyone waiting to kick my butt for me when I failed to land, right?"

When she looks back at him, she seems to realize once again just how close they are, clearing her throat. "Thanks. How's your training going?"

Green Ranger has posed:
He notices, too, but he doesn't pull back. He lets go of her hand, but it takes a moment to do so. "Well, I think we're both lucky there's nobody here who wants to kick our butts," Tommy says with a lopsided grin. His gaze dips briefly over her in her work-out clothes before he clears his throat.

"Going fine. Just doing some basic strength stuff.."

Pink Ranger has posed:
Kimberly pauses, arching a brow with a small smirk. "C'mon, Tommy. I think everybody here knows you don't do anything //basic//," she teases, pushing up onto her toes to brush a drop off sweat from his brow with her thumb, wiping it off on his chest. "Mister modesty here. Preparing for any new tournaments?"

Green Ranger has posed:
He chuckles at that. "Okay, okay. Fine. Training is going just fine." He swallows, briefly distracted when she brushes the drop of sweat from his forehead. "None coming up immediatly, no. There's a really big one just before Christmas, though. Think I should ender?" He seems a hint distracted by something, like he wants to say something but hesitates.

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Of course you should!" Kimberly doesn't even hesitate, brows rising. "Tommy. If you tell Jason I said this, I'll kill you, but we all know you're the best martial artist in the...I don't know, division, district, whatever the chunk of size we know of is called. If you decide you want to win, you will. Period." She reaches out to give his arm a squeeze, bolstering, though she pauses as she picks up on that hesitation. "You okay?"

Green Ranger has posed:
He smiles softly. "Don't worry, I'd never tell him that," he replies with a lopsided grin. He feels her hand on his strong arm and his heart thunders in his chest. He finally says what he was thinking with, "So, there's this carnival in Riverdale this week. I was wondering if you wanted to go to it with me."

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Yeah?" Kimberly's grip on his arm starts to fall, but the tips of her fingers linger before they can leave, reluctant, and instead she reaches for his hand. "Yeah, I'd like that." Her smile flashes, suddenly broad, as a surprised laugh escapes. "I'd like that a lot. What night do you want to go?"

Green Ranger has posed:
Tension releases a bit in his posture when she agrees. "I'm free whenever," the boy admits. "Maybe I can win you one of those stuffed animals in a rigged carnival game. That's normal date stuff, right?", Tommy asks her with a grin.

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Yeah, right," Kimberly laughs, smile crooked. "Hey, I won't say no to it, but I'm holding out for a ferris wheel ride. As long as we get that in, I'll count it a win. Especially if we manage not to get interrupted." Only then does she finally let go of his hand, taking a few backward steps over toward her own water bottle to take a drink. "How about Friday night? That way we don't have to worry about class in the morning, so we can just enjoy ourselves."

Green Ranger has posed:
"Ferris wheel ride. Got it. I'll make it happen." His hand opens and closes when she releases his, and he clears his throat. "Yeah, no. Friday sounds perfect. I'll pick you up at...4:30? Should give you time to get home from class and ...I don't know. Get ready, or whatever?"

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Sure, that should be good." Kimberly pauses, taking a drink. "Get ready, or whatever," she echoes, a glint of humor in her eyes. Not that she's not going to spend an absurd amount of time trying to perfect her look. That's definitely going to happen.

She rubs the back of her forearm across her brow, letting out a breath. "I think that's all the jumping off of beams and onto my butt I can take for a day. I'm going to have some crazy bruises tomorrow."

Green Ranger has posed:
He laughs and nods. "Well, it isn't like we haven't had worse." Tommy makes his way over to his own bottle of water and picks it up, taking a swig before he makes his way back over to her.

"So, I'm done training and you're done training. What do you want to get up to now?," he asks.

Pink Ranger has posed:
"I mean, if I felt like being smart or responsible, I'd go and study for tomorrow's history test," Kimberly admits, glancing over toward her backpack. "But I'm not really feeling either of those things? No big plans for you for the rest of the night?" she asks, looking back to him.

Green Ranger has posed:
"I know what you mean. I should be studying for trig and I...just...I don't want to right now." Tommy grins over at her and considers. "How about we head out? Go do something? We could head up to that point overlooking the towns? Cool little hike. It's quiet up there and has an amazing view."

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Yeah, sure, that sounds like fun. And a good way to cool down," Kimberly grins, starting to pack up her things. "Mom's out on a date with her new boyfriend, so..." That part gets a little wrinkle of her nose. She's still coming to terms with the whole divorce thing. "Kind of leaves me free tonight."

Green Ranger has posed:
He nods a bit to that. "Well, let's go have a date of our own, then." Tommy furrows his brow a bit at that, considering. "Which, I guess...if we're being honest...that'd make the carnival date two, right? Or would this not be a date?" He's overthinking it now, the boy getting a bit flustered.

Pink Ranger has posed:
Kim pauses, then slowly slides her backpack over her shoulder, watching him with an uncertain smile of her own. "I mean, if you wanted it to be a date..." She trails off, voice lifting just a little at the end of the sentence. "You definitely have to call it a date for it to be a date though. Pretty sure that's in the rule book."

Green Ranger has posed:
He considers that for a moment before he offers her a lopsided grin. "Then it's a date," he replies. He clears his throat and nods. "Yeah, definatly a date. We should squeeze in as many as we can before the next giant monster attack, afterall..":

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Right? Like, could they get any more inconvenient?" Kimberly rolls her eyes with exagerrated exasperation. "Sometimes I could swear she's watching us and purposefully choosing the worst possible time." Once she has all her things, she starts to head for the door, though she pauses before she gets there. "Hey, Tommy?"

Green Ranger has posed:
He laughs a bit at that and nods. He gathers his own things and moves to follow her. "Right? Always seems to come at the worst time. Like that hot dog eating contest? I think it was mostly Bulk who was mad about that one, though..." Tommy trails off and glances over. "Yeah?"

Pink Ranger has posed:
Kim takes a few more backwards steps, a slow smile blooming with an upward tilt of her chin and a lift of her brows. "Took you long enough to ask," she teases. It doesn't quite hide the bubbling excitement at //being// asked, no matter how much she tries not to make a big deal of it.

Green Ranger has posed:
He blinks at that and then laughs. "Hey! This is the 2020's! You could have asked -me-, you know." He smirks and steps over to her, lightly bumping her shoulder with his as he turns to begin to lead the way out the door.

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Yeah, but what would be the fun in that?" Kim grins, bumping his shoulder back as they head outside. "Besides, I kind of...after the way everything went down right after we met, I've always kind of wondered if I misread things and...you know, no one wants to make a fool of themselves. Especially not when there are team things on the line, you know?"

Green Ranger has posed:
"No, I get it. And you didn't...well...you didn't misread things. Not at all. I've liked you since we met," Tommy admits with a blush. He glances over at her as they head out into the parking lot of the youth center. His car is an old green Volkswagon his parents got him awhile back.

Pink Ranger has posed:
"Yeah, well. The feeling was definitely mutual," Kim admits, looking back over at him just in time to catch that blush. There's something about the way he does that, about the sweetness underneath what should be edges, that lights a warm glow in her chest. "Ask Trini sometime. I totally called dibs before we even knew your name."

Green Ranger has posed:
He blinks at that and then laughs, shaking his head. "Wow." He fishes out his keys and unlocks the old car, holding her door open for her. He then heads around to his side and slides in. "So...drive to the parking lot and walk up to the summit? Should be pretty quiet this time of year."

Pink Ranger has posed:
"It's a date," Kimberly replies, teasing, as she buckles herself in. "Mind if I put the window down?" she asks once he's insides. It's fitting that her zord flies. She loves the feeling of the wind against her face and through her hair.
